CNN is Incredulous

A Michael Ramirez Cartoon, Investor's Daily 12/3/07

This past Wednesday during the CNN/YouTube GOP Debate we saw CNN in all its liberal bias. The "C" would more easily stand for 'communist' or perhaps 'Clinton' rather than 'credible'.

HUNTER TO HILLARY CLINTON DEBATE PLANT: "THANKS, SEND MORE!"

Hillary's Homosexual Horticultural Hoax

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 29, 2007

CONTACT: Gary Becks (619) 334-1655, dlhunter08@yahoo.com

San Diego, CA - - - GOP Presidential candidate Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) today sent the following response to Senator Hillary Clinton who planted a member of her campaign staff in the audience to ask a question at the Republican debate last evening in Florida. The retired military general, who announced during his question that he was gay, asked the candidates about their position on the Pentagon's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy regarding homosexuals serving in the military.

November 29, 2007

Dear Senator Clinton,

Regarding the "plant", retired BrigKeith H. Kerr. Gen. , that you sent to ask me the question at the CNN-YouTube debate last night in Florida …

Send more!!!

Merry Christmas,

Duncan Hunter

I received the above news relaeae from the Duncan Hunter for President campaign. Scripture says, "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good" (Genesis 50:20)." The homosexual plant of the CNN/Democrat/homosexual axis meant to embarass and to trip up the GOP candidates, but it turns out they all did quite well against obviously biased questioners and the obvious liberal CNN.

Thanks to the transcription I found at the Swanp, here is Representative Hunter's well reasoned and thoughtful response, "General, thanks for your service, but I believe in what Colin Powell said when he said that having openly homosexual people serving in the ranks would be bad for unit cohesion.

"The reason for that, even though people point to the Israelis and point to the Brits and point to other people as having homosexuals serve, is that most Americans, most kids who leave that breakfast table and go out and serve in the military and make that corporate decision with their family, most of them are conservatives,'' Hunter said.

"They have conservative values, and they have Judeo-Christian values. To force those people to work in a small tight unit with somebody who is openly homosexual goes against what they believe to be their principles, and it is their principles, is I think a disservice to them. I agree with Colin Powell that it would be bad for unit cohesion.''
.
It surely wasn't surprising that the homosexual activist and Hillary Rodham-Clinton campaign operative was not happy with Rep. Hunter's or any of the GOP candidates answers. He was there to push his homosexual agenda not truly seeking the positions of the candidates. Agronomist and Senator Hillary "dirty tricks" Rodham-Clinton's campaign is in full left wing swing . . .

Authentic Thanksgiving Dinner Menu

I think it worthwhile to research what foods are authentic Thanksgiving Dinner foods. Food and celebrations are an important part of our cultural heritage. I think we should hold on to old traditional Thanksgiving foods and preparations instead of replacing them with ones that more easily prepared or more palatable to modern American tongue. I would like to try making things as close as possible to the original Thanksgiving, in order to remind us of the past.

The first Thanksgiving dinner was actually a three day feast. Indians brought wild turkeys and venison (deer meat). The men of the colony brought geese, ducks, and fish. The meat was roasted over an open fire. The women served the meat and fish with journey cake, corn meal bread with nuts, and succotash (lima beans and corn cooked together). They also served other vegetables and fruit pies.

This pilgrim Thanksgiving was actually celebrated in the summer, but the reason why we celebrate Thanksgiving in November is because Thanksgiving days were proclaimed in November to thank the Lord for our victories over the British in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. So it is fitting to include both the pilgrim summer traditions and the fall traditions. Thanksgiving is a patriotic holiday.

Here are some suggestions. Try not putting marshmallows on your yams (which are not even real yams). Use freshly baked sweet potatoes instead. Use real cranberries cooked with pears or apples instead of that jellied kind (oranges are not authentic to 17th century New England or Virginia or anywhere in the colonies in November).

Try smoking your (preferably wild) turkey instead of baking it. (Deep-frying turkeys is not only inauthentic, but wastes cooking oil and can be a fire hazard. Do not stuff a turkey if you are going smoke it.) If you do bake your turkey, don’t listen to these idiots who would ruin your tradition by scaring you into not stuffing your turkey. Its perfectly safe as long as your turkey is reaches an internal temperature of 190ºF. I’ve always said, “I don’t care if my stocking is stuffed, as long as my stuffing is stocked.” Or, try one of the other meats listed above for a change.

This being a Franksgiving year gave me a chance to make the meal how I wanted it. We had the usual turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie, but I also served succotash, acorn squash, and blueberry pie (I’ll have a piece of it as soon as I finish this post). Another unusual, but good idea, which I didn’t get to indulge in this year is grape pie (my sister make an awesome grape pie).

I couldn’t find a journey cake recipe, and I didn’t want to make a cornbread recipe if it called for baking powder because it contains aluminum sulfate. (This would both ruin the authenticity of the meal and cause me to get Alzheimer’s disease.) So I decided to make hoe cakes instead and they turned out great.

Thanksgiving Hoe Cakes
These were originally called hoe cakes because they were cooked on garden hoes or shovels held over an open fire by the early settlers.

2 cups cornmeal
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup of chopped nuts (mix of pecans, walnuts, and almonds)
¼ cup nut powder (mix of almond and peanut)
2 tablespoons of melted butter
1 cup hot water
1 cup cold water

Mix salt, nuts, and nut powder into cornmeal. Add hot water and mix it. Then add cold water with stirring. Then add the melted butter and mix it in. Generously coat a very hot iron skillet with cooking oil or bacon grease. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the skillet. Turn until both sides are brown. Add more oil everytime you make a new batch.

Boy, am I stuffed!

Pro-Life and Prolific

Does being pro-life mean being prolific as well?

On the 11/24/07 Mark Harrington Live radio show I heard Mark interviewing Charles Wysong, a pro-life activist from Tennessee. He gave three reasons why the pro-life movement has not seen abortion ended after 34 years of trying to reverse the flawed and flagrantly unconstitutional Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision.

Here are the three reasons Wysong gave:

(1) LACK OF PRAYER. There is too little prayer, either public or private to end the vile practice of aborting innocent babies.

(2) FORSAKING GOD’S LAW. We violate the Judeo-Christian Bible which says, “They that forsake the law (God’s law) praise the wicked, but those who keep (obey) the law (God’s law) contend with them (the wicked).”

(3) ABORTION IS BEING PRACTICED IN THE CHURCH. “The beam is in our own eye and we have yet to remove it. The beam is this, we have deacons in our churches today who are taking or permitting their daughters to abortion clinics (for abortions).

"Furthermore, there is widespread use of I.U.D.s and birth control pills among Christian married couples. The result is that babies are being aborted at 1-2 weeks after conception by means of physical or chemical abortion. Life begins at conception. Here we (Christians) aborting these little babies simply because we do not want more of them . . . Christians ought to be prolific. Muslims are more prolific than Christians. This should not be the case.

"We are to live by faith, trusting God for our daily needs. But here we are doing all we can to keep children from coming into the world. God desires to see children come into the world."

What Wysong said was powerful. He identified the three keys to ending abortion: Praying for its end, k
nowing and obeying God’s Law and repenting from our own evil and sin.

If Christians in America begin to do these three things, we shall overcome and see abortion illegal once again.

American Right to Life

COLORADO - A group of pro-life individuals and organizations met in Colorado recently and formed a new pro-life organization. The founders of the new group were outraged by the compromise seen in the National Right to Life (NRTL) organization, perceiving that the NRTL is too strongly aligned and even controlled by an increasingly unprincipled Republican Party, and by NRTL’s recent endorsement of Fred Thompson for president. Senator Thompson is not the strongest pro-life candidate running in the race; for one thing he does not favor a federal Life at Conception Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I, for one wish this group great success.

My Congressman Has It Right

Representative Jim Jordan, (R-OH-4)

I feel very blessed to be represented by this principled rookie U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan. Congress is now in recess and our Congressman are in their districts this week. I heard him speak tonight in the Mansfield, Ohio area. He is a strong pro-family, pro-life, pro-control illegal immigration representative.

In terms of the abortion, he pointed out the great media bias against pro-life. He cited the major pro-life rally in Washington, D.C., which was virtually ignored by the media, despite the fact that 500,000 people protested on the mall. He talked about the fact that Embryonic Stem Cell Research (ESCR) has yielded no good outcomes, unlike using adult stem cell or umbilical cord blood cells, which have.

He outlined what he saw were the three major challenges facing America today:

(1) Terrorism – he likened it to what America and the world faced in the 1930s – Nazism.

(2) Competition – America must compete harder today than ever before. After World War II America could do nothing wrong. We had no competition. Today we face the manufacturing and economic challenge from China and India. Congress cannot afford to make mistakes as they have in the past and it didn’t cost us. Now we must regain our competitiveness.

(3) Restoration of American values such as sanctity of life, protection of the traditional family and marriage.

Although this event was billed as a pro-life update, Representative Jordan fielded questions about taxes, healthcare, the North American Union. In regard to the issue of life, however, he reiterated several times the theme that one thing that the pro-life side has in our favor is the TRUTH. With truth on our side he feels that we shall eventually overcome. Elections, he said is the basic way we can change our present situation. We must seek to elect those candidates most committed to the cause of life, family, etc. He challenged us to take the political process very seriously.

Algore Is an Anti-Hero, He's . . .

Thanks to T.D., again, for sending us this timely cartoon of the false and untrained prophet of climate analysis and prognosis. To think he might have been our President! It is hard to imagine, no it is plain frightening to think what he would have done to America in a position of power . . .

Bush - Gore 2007

Bush-Gore 2007, Reunion Under False Pretext (A Noble Peace Prize)
.

W is a little grayer (dealing with the enemies without – Islamic terrorist and enemies within-Democrat Party socialist and traitorous leadership). Algore is a little chunkier (consuming many free lunches/suppers on his traveling road show hawking his global warming scam).

Madam Speaker, Do YOU Understand English?

T.D. has again sent us an email, whose content is worth wide distribution and we reproduce it here. On June 6th of this year 33 U.S. Senators voted against English as America’s official language when it was proposed an an amendment to the defeated amnesty bill. Colonel Harry Riley, United States Army (Retired) wrote the letter below, in which he comments on the vote of these senators.

Additionally, we comment on radical socialist House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who is now thwarting efforts to eliminate an employment regulation requiring employers to hire non-English speakers.

These two issues combined point out how out of touch the liberal congressional leadership both in the Senate and the House are with commonsense and with the will of the majority of Americans.

LIBERAL SENATORS’ LUNACY

Senators,

Your vote against an amendment to the Immigration Bill 1348, to make English America's official language is astounding. On D-Day no less when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock character and principles of America. I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.

I don't much care where you come from, what your religion is, whether you're black, white or some other color, male or female, democrat, republican or independent, but I do care when you're a United States Senator, representing citizens of America and vote against English as the official language of the United States.

Your vote reflects betrayal, political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator... impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is warranted.

Worse, 4 of you voting against English as America’s official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd, and Senator Obama.

Those 4 Senators vying to lead America but won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.

This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as political hacks... unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States.

If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a back-lash so stunning it will literally rock you out of your panties... and preferably, totally out of the United States Senate.

The entire immigration bill is a farce... your action only confirms this really isn't about America; it's about self-serving politics... despicable at best.

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale, and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged."~~~ President Abraham Lincoln "

I agree with Colonel Riley’s sentiments regarding this legislation. English should be America’s official language. Ballots should be in English-only. Accommodations should be made for the blind; however, it is insane to expect a non-English speaker or writer to be aware of the issues or candidates if he cannot communicate in the language of the nation.

PELOSI’S PRODIGIOUS IDIOCY

Michael Reagan in a recent article, “Speak English, Get Ahead,” declares, “It’s no secret that in America, knowing how to speak the English language is the basic requirement for success. . . “Reagan is troubled by Nancy “I am the most powerful woman in the world” Pelosi’s attempt to require the noble charity Salvation Army and other employers “to embrace polyglot as their official hiring standard.” Employers would be forced to hire workers incapable of communicating with organization or business’ customers. Is that foolish or what?

Further, Reagan relates that the Wall Street Journal pointed out in the story they did about Sen. Lamar Alexander’s amendment to reverse the proposed EEOC regulation that employers must hire non-English speaking employees. Despite the fact that the amendment passed, Speaker-Queen Pelosi, in an attempt to appease the Hispanic lobby, has threatened to hold up the vote on the bill funding the Justice and Commerce Department unless the English-only provision is removed.

The Journal also made this observation, “The late Albert Shanker, head of the American Federation of Teachers, once pointed out that public schools were established in this country largely ‘to help mostly immigrant children learn the three R's and what it means to be an American, with the hope that they would go home and teach their parents the principles in the Constitution and the Declaration that unite us.’

The newspaper quoted Sen. Alexander as warning that this “noble effort is in danger of being undermined: We have spent the last 40 years in our country celebrating diversity at the expense of unity. One way to create that unity is to value, not devalue, our common language, English." [Emphasis mine]

Shining God’s Light on the Koran

This article is part of an on-going series contrasting the Judeo-Christian Bible with the Koran on a variety of topics. Previous articles include: "Was Abraham a Jew or a Christian?", "Idolatry 101, 102, 103, Oneness, Unbelievers, God's Character and The Resurrection.

.

The Proclamation

The Koran states, “All who dwell in the heavens and on the earth shall prostrate themselves before God: some willingly, some per force; and their very shadows, morning and evening (1).

This appears similar to what is written in Scripture. God says, “Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear (confess) (2).

The primary difference in the statements is that the god of the Koran is not the God of the Scriptures (despite President Bush’s mis-pronouncements). The God of the Koran never had a son (3) while the God of the Scriptures did have a son (4). The Messiah in the Koran is not God (5), while in Scripture He is God (6).

Since the Messiah is not considered God in the Koran, He is then thought to be an idol and the Christians are seen as pagans. The Koran states, “The idols to which the pagans pray give them no answer. They are like a man who stretches out his hands to the water and bids it rise to his mouth: it cannot reach it. Vain are the prayers of the unbelievers (7).” It seems the Koran is describing a water cooler and fountain. Remember that in the Koran the “unbelievers” are those who declare: “God is the Messiah, the son of Mary (9).”

In the sacred Scripture the one before whom all will kneel is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ the son of Mary. The apostle Paul states this, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him and given Him a name, which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (9).”

We know that in the book of Isaiah in the Bible that the passage is referring to Jesus for it states, “in the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory (10).” Jesus took in His own body the sins of all mankind (11) and received from God His wrath for, “He (Jesus to God the Father) said why have You forsaken Me (13)?”

If you would like to be justified (made in right standing before God) confess to God that you are a sinner and invite Jesus into your life and heart right now.

T'was a month before Christmas . . .

I came across this fantastic poem about Christmas here while surfing the net. I thought that it was well worth sharing. I think it is very appropriate in that we have so commercialized and so sanitized this most holy of celebrations. I gave it its title . . .

Christmasanitized

by anonymous
.
.

Twas a month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.

Why the PC Police
had taken away,
The reason for Christmas -
no one could say.

The children were told
by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men
and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings,
the teachers would say
December 25th
is just a 'Holiday'.

Yet the shoppers were ready
with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down
to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna,
an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing,
something quite odd!

Retailers promoted
Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books
by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging
their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas -
was no where to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples
and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas;
it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive,
Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used
to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden,
Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather,
on Kerry, on [Rodham-]Clinton!

At the top of the Senate,
there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus,
in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word,
as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak
of salvation and grace.

The true Gift of Christmas
was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season,
stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate 'Winter Break'
under your 'Dream Tree'
Sipping your Starbucks,
listen to me.

Choose your words carefully,
choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS...!!!!
not Happy Holiday!

Baby Jesus "Offends" Wisconsin Atheist Group

Tear Down the Manger, Mr. City Manager!

MENOMINEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- Really the rally cry of the atheist and their radical liberal socialist allies is tear down American culture with is historic Christian roots and values!

The Associated Press reported on November 19, 2007 that there was a group of atheists and agnostics in Menominee, Wisconsin, whose population is around 11,000 persons, who are protesting the city’s parks and recreation department committee’s approval of sheltering the Nativity scene in the city’s band shell.

Here is a portion of the text of the news article, “The co-president of the Madison-based Freedom From Religion Foundation said in a letter sent Thursday that the display would violate the separation of church and state.

“"It is unlawful for the city of Menominee to maintain, erect or host a display that consists solely of a nativity scene, thus singling out, showing preference for and endorsing one religion, and commemorating its most holy day,'' Annie Laurie Gaylor wrote to Menominee City Manager Eric Strahl. "Compounding this is the tax money spent on illuminating this religious scene on public property.''

“City attorney Rob Jamo warned the parks committee during its meeting that the display was close to violating the separation of church and state established in the Constitution.”

First of all, it always amazes me that some people find the time to stir up trouble where there is no need to do so. Their lives must be so shallow and so unfulfilled that they stoop to pick on God and His people. Well, God is being enough to take care of Himself and everyone and everything else. One day every knee shall bow . . .

Second, it is a boldface lie that the concept of separation of church and state appears or exists in the Constitution at all. It has been misinterpreted or reinterpreted to just about mean a call to separate God from our society. This is totally opposed to the original intent of the Founders of America.

Third, groups such as Wisconsin's Freedom From Religion Foundation or the American Civil Liberties Union or People for the American Way or Barry Lynn’s group, Americans for the Separation of Church and State, are wrong on this issue among many others. They violate the Constitution’s right for individuals to express their faith. They insult, smear and sneer at God, who repeatedly blessed this nation since its inception.

Moreover, America was founded as a fundamentally Christian nation. To acknowledge and honor God and Jesus Christ is not the same as establishing a state religion by a long shot. This is what some godless liberal groups and activities judges want to bring about. To the contrary, the Founders did not want America to sanction any one particular denomination over another is the actual intent of the Founders. They did not want what happened in England to happen here, where the Church of England was given a special status.

Finally, the same people who bemoan a nativity scene featuring a lifeless statue of the baby Jesus are those who defend the woman's right to kill her baby. These folks do not care the least about the pain that these innocent babies endure at the hand of the abortionist. What have these folks against babies, anyway? Why do they so fear Him, so? Could it be that they cannot stand the truth? After all, He did make the statement, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one can come to God (the Father) except through Me."

The "Fast-Pace" GOP Iowa Caucus Race

A Jerry Holbert cartoon, 11/16/07, Boston Herald
.
The "race" in Iowa seems to have come down to pretty boy Mitt versus the huckster Mike. Is this all there is? Where are the real conservatives like Representatives Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo?
.
In addition to the immensely critical social issues - being pro-life and supporting traditional one-man, one-woman marriage - (which Governor Romney is a Johnny-come-lately and Huckabee seems strong) what about immigration (Huckabee appears to be a Bush-clone) or the role of government (Huckabee seems to also favor big-government)?
.
See article below for a more in-depth discussion of Huckabee's philosophy.

Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee, Who’s Scarier?

Scary Pumpkins & Scary Politicians

Jonah Goldberg asserts in his Friday article, titled “Ron Paul isn’t that scary", that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is scarier than Ron Paul. Why is this so? I agree with Goldberg that Ron Paul’s ideas on foreign policy are why I would not vote for him. He does have some good ideas related to reducing the size and scope of government, however. I also like his ideas regarding abolishing the IRS and withdrawing from the UN.

I am more interested, however, in what Goldberg had to say about Huckabee, because I have strongly considered voting for him in the presidential primary election. Here are a couple of things he writes about Huckabee:

“. . . What's troubling about The Man From Hope 2.0 is what he represents . . . compassionate conservatism on steroids. A devout social conservative on issues such as abortion, school prayer, homosexuality and evolution, Huckabee's a populist on economics, a fad-follower on the environment and an all-around do-gooder who believes that the biblical obligation to do "good works" extends to using government to bring us closer to the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. "
Frankly, I have had quite enough of President George Bush's so-called compassionate conservatism these past 7 years. It has expanded government far too much and has not accomplished much more than deficit expansion.

Goldberg continues. “Whatever shortcomings Paul and his friends might have, Paul's dogma generally renders those shortcomings irrelevant. He is a true ideologue in that his personal preferences are secondary to his philosophical principles.”

By contrast Goldberg contends that Huckabee’s overall philosophy, like most politicians, is ruled more by his personal preference and less by principle.

“ . . . Huckabee's philosophy is conventionally liberal, or progressive. What he wants government to do certainly differs in important respects from what Hillary Clinton wants, but the limits he would place on governmental do-goodery are primarily tactical or practical, not philosophical or constitutional. This isn't to say he -- or Hillary -- is a would-be tyrant, but simply to note that the progressive notion of the state as a loving, caring parent is becoming a bipartisan affair . . .”

I think Goldberg makes some good points about Huckabee in his article. What attracted me to vote for Huckabee at the Value Voters straw poll last month was his strong stands on the social issues. I am finding out more and more that he is weak on immigration, the role of the federal government and his apparent proclivity and susceptibility to the persuasion of environmental radical ideas.

You Reap What You Sow

I recently saw this little story in my organization’s newsletter. It has application in business, family, relationships, community, church, politics or any other area of life.

The Seed

A successful businessman was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor . . . Instead of choosing one of his directors or his children, he decided to do something different.

He called all the young executives in his company together. He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you.” The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. “I am going to give each one of you a SEED today – one very special SEED. I want you to plant the SEED, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the SEED I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO.”

A man named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a SEED. He went home and excitedly told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the SEED. Everyday he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their SEEDS and the plants that were beginning to grow. Jim kept checking his SEED, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now the others were talking bout their plants, but Jim didn’t have a plant and he felt like a failure. Six months went by – still nothing in Jim’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing.

Jim didn’t say anything to his colleagues, however. He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil – He so wanted the SEED to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn’t going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room.

When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful – in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives. Jim just tried to hide in the back. “My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown,” said the CEO. “Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO.”

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the financial director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, “ the CEO knows I’m a failure. Maybe he will have me fired!”

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his SEED. Jim told him the story. The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, “Behold your next Chief Executive? His name is Jim! Jim couldn’t believe it. Jim couldn’t even grow his SEED.

Then the CEO said, “One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a SEED. I told you to take the SEED, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled SEEDS; they were dead – it was not possible for them to grow. All of you except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers.

When you found that the SEED would not grow, you substituted another SEE for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my SEED in it. Therefore, he is one who will be the new CEO?” The moral of the story:

· If you plant honesty, you will reap trust
· If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
· If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
· If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
· If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
· If you plant hard work, you will reap success
· If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

In politics, for example, we should look for the person whose actions, their voting record their core beliefs and philosophy in particular, reflect or back up their campaign slogans or rhetoric.

Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton is a seething liberal, yet campaigns pretending to be a moderate or centralist. She visits black churches in the South and pretends to be a sister in the “faith.” However, her votes and her actions in support of abortion and the homosexual agenda are antithetical to basic Judeo-Christian values, to basic Christianity as found in the Judeo-Christian Bible. Another "virtue" of Senator Rodham-Clinton is her alleged vicious temper and mistreatment of staffers, which the opposite of planting goodness. What the carpetbagging New York Senator's campaign is good at nurturing is audience plants, see a related article, which I posted recently.

Likewise, Barack Hussein Obama, too, denies his Muslim raised background and that he, too, is claims to be a "Christian" trying to woe the black Christian voter. However, like Senator Rodham-Clinton he buys and sells the radical anti-God liberal Democrat Party platform. In fact, most, if not all of the Democrat Party presidential candidates are extreme socialists who want to tear down American values and destroy our Christian nation.

EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed

Ben Stein, the actor, is promoting his new movie that attacks the evolutionary establishment. The movie, called EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed, is a documentary set to be released in February 2008. Ben says, “The Expelled Tour will expose the Darwin elitists who SUPPRESS all who disagree with them, including many scientists (yes, SCIENTISTS) whose new EVIDENCE erodes Darwin’s claims.” Some of the evolutionists who were interviewed for the film are now complaining that they were misled into thinking that it was going to be a more unbiased presentation of scientific evidence.

Thanksgiving 1607 to 2007

For another perspective on celebrating Transksgiving tomorrow, the third Thursday of November, see Matt's AGC article, Franksgiving.

"The tradition of Thanksgiving as a time to focus on God and His blessings dates back almost four centuries in America. While such celebrations occurred at Cape Henry, Virginia as early as 1607, it is from the Pilgrims that we derive the current tradition of Thanksgiving.

"Following their first winter in America, the Pilgrims reaped a bountiful harvest the next summer. As one of them wrote, "God be praised, we had a good increase of corn"; "by the goodness of God, we are far from want." Consequently, they declared a three-day feast in December 1621 to thank God -- America's first Thanksgiving Festival. This began an annual tradition in the New England Colonies that slowly spread into other Colonies . . .

"The first national Thanksgiving occurred under President George Washington (below you can see a scan of his 1789 proclamation) . . ."

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.
.
G. Washington

.
Thanks to WallBuilders.com who provided the above information in an email I received today. I added emphasis to President Washington's Thanksgiving and Prayer Proclamation above.
.
It sure seems to me that our first President clearly understood the purpose and necessity of annually commenorating a day set aside for true thanksgiving and prayer to the One, eternal God. May we too ask Him to pardon, to forgive our national and individual transgressions, sins, including abortion, blasphemy and rejection of God, immorality, pornography, homosexuality, promiscuity among countless other wrongs . . .
.
Let us resolve today to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek the God of our Fathers and to repent and to turn from our wicked ways and to return to the historic true Christian faith of our Fathers.

Bella (2007)

I usually wait and rent or purchase movies rather than going to first run movies at a movie theater. But after hearing some very positive reviews of the Bella movie, I purposely wanted to support this movie by buying a ticket. After seeing the movie on my birthday last Saturday, it was even better than I had expected. The accolades where not overstated.
.
A real Bell-a ring-a of a movie! --- gregjaye

MovieGuide.org comments, “Bella opens up with the wonderful narration, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans."

This is a touching human drama, the story of a former star soccer player, Jose, who finds himself working at his brother’s restaurant as the chief chef and a restaurant waitress, Nina, who just discovers that the reason she is sick is that she is pregnant. Jose has a Puerto Rican father and a Mexican mother. In this upside-down world Jose’s parents and family are surprisingly Jose’s family is normal. The movie is set in New York City.

Nina gets fired from the restaurant for missing too much work. Jose empathizes and befriends her. In fact, he leaves work and the two of them spend the day together. Much of the movie follows these to people during this one day in their lives. The two bare their souls to each other.

Bella really explores in depth the emotions of these two person who are very different, yet drawn together through difficult past experiences. It is a wonderfully sad movie.

It is a must-see five star out of five-star movie. Visit it in the movie theater. Our culture desperately needs more movies like Bella. Quality flicks with a solid moral message are unfortunately too rare. The acting was exceptional. It was fast-paced after a little slow start. It is a masterpiece, a superbly painted picture portrait of two intersecting interesting and intriguing lives. Unlike nearly all movies today it has an underlying positive moral message.

Arkansas Dark Horse Candidate

Mike Huckabee, Republican
Place Among Republicans: Third, at 11 percent
Up or Down? Up 5 points
Points Behind Leader: 18

An AOL news report today begins, "With six weeks left until the Iowa caucuses, the presidential horserace has taken some unexpected turns, according to the most recent numbers from a national Reuters/Zogby poll. On the Republican side, Rudy (pro-abort, pro-homosexual, pro-illegal aliens) Giuliani widened his lead over Fred (sleepy) Thompson to 14 points, 29 percent to 15 percent . . .
.
"But the biggest jump came from former Arkansas Gov. Mike (the long shot) Huckabee, who leapfrogged over Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney into third place. Huckabee had 11 percent, with Romney and Arizona Sen. John McCain hot on his heels with 9 percent." (comments added)
.
Mike Huckabee, though very far from the perfect candidate, seems to be picking up steam among the more conservative, Christian and values voters. He may upset the media-canonized eastern, Hollywood and Western liberal-to-moderate RINOs and may shake things up enough to give a real conservative or a real dark horse like strong conservatives Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo a chance at winning the GOP primary and the White House.

A Collection Basket Full of Dollars

Televangelists Extravagance

· Rolls-Royce cars
· $10,000 a-night-hotel bill
· Gift of a Bentley car

I personally appreciate Senator Chuck Grassley’s (R-Iowa) probe into the questionable behaviors of the six so-called televangelists’ ministries:

· Kenneth and Gloria Copeland,
· Creflo and Taffi Dollar,
· Benny Hinn,
· Bishop Eddie Long,
· Joyce and David Meyer, and
· Randy and Paula White

They bring disgrace and offense to God, Jesus Christ and to true Christians everywhere. Their lavish lifestyle is unacceptable and they do not deserve tax exempt status. They can live this way, but I do not want my government condoning such exploitation by granting the privilege of tax exempt status.

They need to do one of two things, either: (1) stop their luxurious living and spending at the expense of generous donors in irresponsible violation of IRS regulations or (2) surrender or give up their tax exempt status and then they can do whatever they want. To me these are the only two choices. There are probably other ministries and not-for-profit organizations that should also be scrutinized.

If these “ministries” choose the later (#2), I wonder how many people would continue to support these apparent charlatans.

It's a Set Up

A Brian Duffy Cartoon, 11/14/07, The Des Moines (Iowa) Register

The Rodham-Clinton campaign caught in the act of the set up. See related article below.

The Art of the Democrat Party Plant

Ken Shepherd on NewsBusters.com writes, ". . . the media often pass off professional or semi-professional liberal activists as average Joes and Janes. The effect, of course, is to give a feel of authenticity to the problems, real or perceived, that these folks are struggling with, and often demand government intervention for. . . "

Michelle Malkin asks, "Why did so many of the questioners in the Nov 15 Democrat debate turn out to be activists of one kind or another?" Michelle Malkin provided the following YouTube.com video below which answers the question.

Dirty tricks seems to be the accepted way of operating for the Clinton political strategists. Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton's campaign apparently has some dirt on the likewise liberal Senator Barack Hussein Obama, but won't release it (at least for now.) They plant doubts. They play politics of personal destruction. Nothing is beyond the tricks and tactics of the Clinton political machine operatives. Win at any and all costs is their basic goal.

P.S. Also revealing in this ploy is the part CNN played in the whole story. They are complicit in the planting . . .

Science or the Bible?

Creation Museum Update

The 60,000 square foot state of the art Creation Museum near Cincinnati, Ohio has now been opened for almost six months. The new museum has already had 280,000 visitors according to its founder, Australian-born former high school science teacher and formerly employed by the Institute for Creation Research (ICR), Ken Ham. I had the opportunity to attend part of a conference on creationism where he spoke yesterday at a church in Sugarcreek, Ohio. He also told us last night that the museum averages over 3,000 visitors each Saturday. I heard recently on a radio show that the Creation Museum projected to have at least 400,000 visitors during its first year, far exceeding expectations. People are hungry for the truth.

What is unique about the Creation Museum is that both the secular humanist and the biblical explanations about the origin of life are presented side by side. This contrasts significantly with the typical secular humanist evolutionist presentation in museums or academia where only one side is presented as “scientifically” accurate, which is the flawed evolutionary explanation.

Ken Ham vehemently disagrees with the view that creationism is non-scientific and strictly a religious explanation for origins of life. He points out that are two types of science, observable or operation and origins. The observable or operation science are used equally by both the evolutionist-scientist as well as the creationist-scientist. By the way, the Museum employs several PhD scientists in various fields. Origin science is based on one’s interpretation of the facts found in observation science. See comprehensive definitions of the two types of science from the July-September 2007 issue (page 24) of Answers Magazine provided below:

"Operation science uses the so-called "scientific method" to attempt to discover truth, performing observable, repeatable experiments in ta controlled environment to find patters of recurring behavior in the present physical universe. For example, we can study gravity, study the spread of disease, or observe speciation in the lab or in the world . . .

.

"Origin science attempts to discover truth by examining reliable eyewitness testimony (if available), and circumstantial evidence, such as pottery, fossils, and canyons. Because the past cannot be observed directly, assumptions greatly affect how these scientists interpret what they see."

It depends on what starting point one employs as far as how origin science is used. For the evolutionist their basic starting assumption and what they depend on is human reason, which basically says that over the course of millions of years, life and matter evolved from nothing. For the creationist their starting point or foundation is the Bible and acknowledges that there was a Designer and accepts a Biblical explanation for the origin of life and matter.

Ken Ham stated that the Bible explains the origin of life from a historical perspective. Neither the evolutionist-scientist nor the creationist-scientist was present to observe the origin of life or matter. Therefore, neither the evolutionist nor the biblical explanation for origins can be proven, just explained. In other words, it takes faith to believe in either “religious” explanation. After all, evolution is one of the key principles or beliefs of the Secular-Humanist Atheistic “religion,” as much as creationism is a core principle or belief of the Judeo-Christian “religions.”

Answers in Genesis (AIG) also produces a great amount and variety of resources for all age groups, which were available for purchase at the conference. If you ever have the opportunity to attend a presentation by Ken Ham, it is well worth the time invested. Also, I resolve to visit the Creation Museum sometime during the next twelve months.

Shining God’s Light on the Koran

Last week I wrote an article about our National Security.

Today I return to my on-going series contrasting the Judeo-Christian Bible with the Koran on a variety of topics. This article is part of that on-going series.

See previous articles include the following : "Was Abraham a Jew or a Christian?", "Idolatry 101, 102, 103, Oneness and Unbelievers and God's Character.

The Resurrection

Both Scripture and the Koran speak of a resurrection. The following are direct quotes from the Koran. "As for the dead, God will bring them back to life. Then to Him shall they return (1)." "Lost indeed are those who deny they will ever meet God. When the Hour of Doom overtakes them unawares, they will exclaim: Alas we have neglected much in our life time (2)." "There is none in the heavens or on earth but shall return to the Merciful in utter submission. He has kept strict count of all His creatures and one by one they shall approach Him on the day of resurrection (3)."

Scripture speaks of several resurrections. There is what Scripture calls the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who take part in the first resurrection. On those persons the second death has no power, but they shall reign with Him a thousand years. When the thousands years have expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. The rest of the dead will come to life after the one thousand years are finished.

Nonetheless God can raise to life anyone He chooses when He chooses. Jesus had friends in the town of Bethany. Some distance away Jesus was with His disciples when He received word of Lazarus’ sickness from Mary and Martha. Jesus stayed at this location two more days and tells the disciples, “Lets go wake up Lazarus.” The disciples respond, “If he is asleep he will be okay (4) Finally Jesus says, “Lazarus is dead.” Thomas said, “Lets go that we may die with Jesus.”

Jesus goes to Bethany and finds that Lazarus had been in the grave four days. Martha comes to Jesus and tells Him that if He had been there her brother Lazarus would not have died. But even at that point she said that she knew that whatever Jesus would ask of God, He would do. Jesus replies, "Your brother shall rise again." Martha then said, “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus responded, “I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Martha said, “Yes. I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world (5).”

Jesus was taken to the place where Lazarus was buried and there He wept. Jesus told Martha to roll the stone away and Martha said, “He has already been dead four days. By now he stinks. Jesus said, “Didn’t I say to you you would see the power of God?” So Martha had the stone rolled away from the entrance of the tomb. Then Jesus cried out, Lazarus come forth and Lazarus came out bound hand and foot. Jesus said, “Release him.”

We see from the above accounts that the Koran speaks of an EVENT only, the resurrection, which will take place at some point in time.

On the other hand, Scripture speaks of two resurrections, one involves EVENTS and the other involves a PERSON. If you believe in Jesus, that He is the Son of God and He lives in you then the PERSON of the resurrection resides within you awaiting the EVENT, a future literal physical resurrection. Jesus proved Himself the to be the resurrection by calling Lazarus back from the dead.

If you believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died in your place for your sins you can REPENT of (turn away from) your sins and INVITE Him into your life right in this moment in time. All you have to do is sincerely pray words to this affect, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my evil (my sins, all my wrongdoings) and come into and take Your residence in my life.”
