But I don't see how this "destroys traditional marriage". If two wicked people want to do something wicked that only hurts themselves, that is a shame, but it doesn't violate my rights or hinder people from engaging in real marriage in any way. I still think that the issue of marriage should be left up to the church, not government. Perhaps a law banning joint custody of children by same-sex couples is in order, but otherwise government should stay out of it. I am talking about getting rid of all tax breaks, special rights, incentives, licenses, and other marriage regulations that are not in the Bible. This would largely eliminate the problem. Even though Prop 8 has passed, there is no law against same-sex couples having a ceremony to "celebrate their union" and calling themselves married.
