Lesbian Mayor of Houston Stomps on Free Speech, How will America React?

The following is an email I received from Mike Huckabee regarding the shenanigans going on in bowels of that decadentopolis, Houston, Texas, where the lesbian mayor has essentially declared war on the local clergy. What is going on in Houston? The liberal Mayor Annise Parker and the city council passed a gay rights ordinance that allows men with gender issues to use women’s restrooms. Well, a lot of churches – and women -- have a problem with that. So they gathered 50,000 signatures to repeal it.

 

The Mayor invalidated the petition, so the group sued. In response, the city subpoenaed four pastors, demanding copies of their sermons, speeches and communications with church members, to see if they had promoted the petition. In response to this clear overreach Christians from around the nation are rallying to their side.

Getting the wrong picture

This is the third in a series of articles addressing the absolute absurdity of establishing anti-discrimination laws on behalf of a peculiar, privileged group of individuals whose preferred sexual behavior flies in the face of established values and mores of civilized society. This article discusses one small business whose owners dared to say “no” to two lesbians who requested that they photograph their so-called same-sex commitment ceremony. What? You mean these small business owners acted on their faith-convictions and said they would not be part of any “ceremony” celebrating what by Biblical standards consider immoral behavior? Who are they to do such a thing?


SHUTTER THE THOUGHT

Much of the rest of this article is based on a discussion I heard between Tony Perkins and Attorney Jordan Lorence on a segment of the 4/25/08 broadcast of the Washington Watch Weekly Radio Show. Additional background information can be obtained from volokh.com.

Elaine and Jon Huguenin are a young Christian married couple in their twenties living in New Mexico. Elane Photography, Inc. is their business. Elaine is the photographer, her husband, Jon, works on the business end. A lesbian couple contacted them through their website requesting that they take pictures of their same-sex ‘commitment ceremony’. Elaine refused citing her Biblical convictions and beliefs. They were sued for DISCRIMINATION by the offended lesbians through the New Mexico Human Rights Commission (NMHRC). A trial was held in January 2008 with Alliance Defense Fund Senior Legal Counsel Jordan Lorence representing Elane Photography. In April they were notified that they lost the case and owed $6,600 in attorney fees.

The conclusion was reached despite the fact that there is no law on New Mexico’s books that recognize either same-sex “civil-unions” or same-sex “marriage”. On his Washington Watch radio show host Tony Perkins was puzzled by the verdict saying that there was no loss to the lesbian couple. The couple could have easily sought another photographer. It appeared to Mr. Perkins that this case was pure harassment and intimidation. Perkins indicated the state was using this case through the Commission and the non-discrimination laws to bring about public policy in society. Therefore, if any individual, a church or a business holds the conviction or belief that marriage is something sacred between only one man and one woman they could be subject to prosecution.

WHAT NEXT?

Jordan Lorence is filing an appeal in the New Mexico court system. If necessary the case will be taken to the U.S. Supreme Court. The USSC has ruled favorably in these types of cases in the past. The Boy Scout case and the Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade are two examples when the high court rejected the application of these non-discrimination laws to First Amendment type actions such as the one in the Elane Photography case.

If such laws as the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) are ever enacted, then we will routinely see cases like Crystal Dixon and the Huguenin’s take place. The result will include tying up the courts, silencing Christians, severely restriction freedom of speech and the free expression of one’s faith.

CONCLUSION

Attorney Lorence thought that this Elane Photography case was a show trial. The state. through the NMHRC according to Lorence, “is trying to make an example of people like those at Elane Photography to INTIMIDATE many, many other people. Both to deter them from acting on their Christian beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman” and to eventually go after churches, which is their ultimate goal. We will discuss churches in the next article.

Eureka Springs has become a haven for homosexuals; the town where a pro-homoseual mayor and other leaders are deliberately making a pitch for homosexuals and other sexually immoral persons' business, calling itself “diverse”. Diverse is apparently the new word for what once described decadence or perversion. In fact this past weekend Eureka Springs hosted one of its four annual or seasonal “decadence” weekends, where perversion was celebrated out in the open in the view of God and children. .

(San Antonio, TX) I heard a report on the radio last week about the pro-homosexual police chief in San Antonio, Texas. The police chief of this large Texas town took upon himself the “noble” task of volunteering to serve as the grand marshal in the homosexual “pride” parade. Not only that, but he promised to try to recruit homosexuals into his police force. I wonder how many arrests were made of persons displaying lewd, indecent and obscene behavior in the parade with the lead law enforcement office served as the parade marshal?

(San Diego, CA) WorldNetDaily.com reported today in an exclusive story that four heterosexual husbands and fathers were made to ride in a homosexual "pride in perversion" parade. They were suffered sexual insults and lewd gestures The article explained that the Fire Chief of San Diego is an open lesbian who described the parade held on July 21st as a “fun event” in which “all employees are encouraged to participate.”

This was not exactly the way the four fighters saw it. They are suing the city of San Diego for being ordered into uniform to participate in the parade in their fire trucks, despite their numerous protestations. This seems like a case of sexual harassment on the part of the Fire Department and the city. Hopefully the fire fighters will win and the city will be heavily fined and the city would clean up its act.

These three recent occurrences by a pro-homosexual mayor, a pro-homosexual Police Chief and by a lesbian Fire Chief show how much damage a few well placed individuals can do. It also shows how important it is to elect pro-family, pro-traditional values leadership at every level of government.

What to the homosexuals want? They want their perversion approved, condoned, sanctioned and even protected by all levels of government. They have gone beyond being “accepted” or “tolerated” they want to displace all standards of morality and common decency with a celebration of their perversion anywhere at anytime and in anyplace and they are recruiting allies in or becoming mayors, judges and even police chiefs or fire chiefs to accomplish their despicable goals.

THE “OFFENSIVE” POST

A Memphis, Tennessee TV station had a story about Lesbian Girl Gangs active in nearly a dozen Memphis schools. These gangs rape and sodomize their young women victims. The story reports that these gangs exist elsewhere in America, too.

WHY THE CENSORSHIP?

What is so offensive about the truth? I admit I am not politically correct, nor do intend to be. This may be the problem. In order to express what is on your mind these days you must keep from offending anyone. We would not want to offend anyone like Dr. Michael Newdow, the atheist frivolous lawsuit filer, by making him drive by a monument marked by a cross, would we?

Only the true Christian believer, follower of Jesus Christ, is fair game to be attacked, ridiculed, marginalized and subject to every form of censure and intolerance. That is the dirty little secret.

Like my post this story has not had widespread exposure. Why? Because if the truth about homosexuality, lesbianism, transgender and transvestism got out, it would damage the contrived image and might stifle the gains made by advocates of this corrupt, perverted behavior of the so-called alternative lifestyles. This story must be told.

THE REAL STORY

Last Tuesday, on LifeSiteNews.com John Henry Weston wrote an article, “Lesbian Gangs Raping Young Girls, Some Attacked in School Washroom.” Read the story to get a full picture of what is going on high school campuses across the country. This story is being suppressed for political and ideological reasons.

Peter LaBarbera, Americans for Truth, wrote the following in an email I received yesterday.

I heard about this lesbian bullying phenomenon from former lesbian turned Christian evangelist Linda Jernigan, who a few years back was contacted by a teacher about speaking at Rich East High School in Park Forest, Illinois (a south suburb of Chicago), where this sick behavior was occurring.

Jernigan said she was told that lesbian girl gangs would drag a targeted female into the school restroom, hold her down, and perform oral sex on her to “turn her out” – i.e., forcibly “seduce” the poor girl through lesbian rape.

‘Vagina Monologues’ condoned lesbian predatory rape

Maybe the young lesbian thugs got some inspiration from “Vagina Monologues,” the vulgar feminist-lesbian play celebrated by liberal elites and performed by many female Hollywood stars. Did you know that the original Vagina Monologues book by Eve Ensler contains a chapter about a 24-year-old lesbian woman who plies a 13-year-old girl with alcohol to seduce her? Ensler turns this pedophile rape into a sort of feminist-lesbian “moral good” by having the girl victim end up as a happy lesbian who says, “I’ll never need to rely on a man” – don’t you just love liberal morality? . .

Please take a few minutes to watch both the Memphis TV video and the O’Reilly video and ask yourself: where is the rest of the media on this story? We hear from the pro-homosexual Left about “bullying” in schools – as if it’s mainly an “anti(homosexual)” phenomenon. Now we learn that lesbians are doing the bullying — is the educational establishment taking action to prevent this? Have politically correct, pro-”(homosexual)” pandering and the ubiquitous glamorization of homosexuality — in the schools, media, and in pop culture — contributed to this crisis?

How many liberals have joined lesbian “conservative” Tammy Bruce in condemning “Vagina Monologues’” pedophile lesbian rape-seduction chapter? Evidently not enough to stop this lewd play from being celebrated by the cocktail set and from now moving from colleges to high schools. I suppose rape and pedophilia are vile crimes except when performed by lesbians on girls….

NOT SO GLAAD TIDINGS

Peter LaBarbera also wrote, “In a shocking display of homosexual activists putting politics and P.R. above the welfare of children and crime victims, the powerful homosexual media-pressure group GLAAD ("Gay" (Homosexual) and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) tried to stop the Memphis TV news story on lesbian gangs from airing. GLAAD did succeed in getting a preview of the news segment, but failed to block it.

TAKE ACTION

(1) Visit the GLADD website and do just the opposite of what they say to do and commend the Memphis news producers for not succumbing to GLAAD’s strong arm tactics.
