Unborn Child Replayed (1974-2014)

JI Spear, a Facebook friend, posted a link on my timeline to the old Seals and Croft song. "Unborn Child" was written in 1974. That was  the year after the infamous, tragic, and fatal [for millions of babies, that is] Roe v. Wade decision. That flawed and fabricated decision resulted in the legalized murder of millions upon millions of pre-born human beings.

I don't remember ever hearing that song. It contains from very heavy and powerful lyrics, which are just as pertinent and just as controversial today (or more so) as when they were first written and recorded ...

The actual lyrics to the YouTube song follow below.

Seals and Crofts' "Unborn Child"

(Lyrics by Lana Bogan; music by James Seals, 1974)

Oh little baby, you'll never cry, nor will you hear a sweet lullabye.

Oh unborn child, if you only knew just what your momma was plannin' to do.
You're still a-clingin' to the tree of life, but soon you'll be cut off before you get ripe.
Oh unborn child, beginning to grow inside your momma, but you'll never know.
Oh tiny bud, that grows in the womb, only to be crushed before you can bloom.

Mama stop! Turn around, go back, think it over.
Now stop, turn around, go back, think it over.
Stop, turn around, go back think it over.

Oh no momma, just let it be. You'll never regret it, just wait and see.
Think of all the great ones who gave everything
That we might have life here, so please bear the pain.

Mama stop! Turn around, go back, think it over.
Now stop, turn around, go back, think it over.
Stop, turn around, go back think it over

Newsweek Rebuffed: The Grand Rapids LipDub Music Video

I caught an interview on Detroit, Michigan radio station WJR this evening. Rob Bliss was being interviewed about how and why he created the video below. Here is a portion of the YouTube description of the video:

"… The Grand Rapids LipDub Video was filmed May 22nd, with 5,000 people, and involved a major shutdown of downtown Grand Rapids, which was filled with marching bands, parades, weddings, motorcades, bridges on fire, and helicopter take offs. It is the largest and longest LipDub video, to date.

“This video was created as an official response to the Newsweek article calling Grand Rapids a "dying city. "We disagreed strongly, and wanted to create a video that encompasses the passion and energy we all feel is growing exponentially, in this great city. We felt Don McLean's "American Pie," a song about death, was in the end, triumphant and filled to the brim with life and hope." - Rob Bliss, Director & Executive Producer …”

The Grand Rapid folks did an good job putting the ultra liberal, anti-American Newsweek in its place. Newsweek’s leftist ultra bias is one reason that I now subscribe to the conservative Newsmax Magazine instead.
!

Interestingly, this video was posted just last week and has already surpassed 2,000,000 views ...

The rap on healthcare ‘reform’

I was reminded today of a rap duo from Dartmouth called the Young Cons. Here is one of their rap videos made earlier in the year during the heat of the healthcare ‘reform’ debate. The subject is still a hot one. It’s one of many issues to remember as we vote in November.

I like the lyrics of the Young Cons' “Health Care Nightmare” especially, “You want to tell a private guy what he can buy? (To Congress:) I’m gonna tell you in November I’m going to wrap you up a brand new goodbye!”

Young Cons Rap Anthem

Rap music is usually not worth a plug nickel, let alone fifty cent. Most of it is garbage in the air. It is reeks with violence, sex, drugs, hate and murder. Yet, here is a rap with some good solid lyrics. Listen to the rap song in the video and read the words below.

The Young Con Anthem

Serious C:
“Yo this ones for all the young conservatives.
Yo…. one time….
I rep the Northeast and I’m still a young con,
Let your voice release, you don’t have to be obamatrons.
I debate any poser who don’t shoot straight,
Government spending needs to deflate,
Your ideas are lightweight,
Ya careers in checkmate
I frustrate. I increase the pulse rate
I hate when,
government dictatin, makin, statements, bout how to be a merchant,
How to run a restaurant, how to lay the pavement
Bailout a business, but can’t protect an infant
Deficiencies are blatant, young con treatment
I stand one man, outnumbered at my college
Thank you Miss Cali for reminding us of marriage
Can’t support abortion, and call yourself a Christian
I support life, you’re a puzzled politician
Terrorists were imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay,
Now they’re in our neighborhoods, planning out doomsday
No such thing as utopia,
no government can control ya, baby ya,
Reap the benefits hard work, self reliant
Listen to Stiltz, my dude’s a lyrical giant
Yo Stiltz… make it two time… please”

Stiltz:
“I’m 6′9 head and shoulder above the rest
Liberals playin checkers, I’m playin chess
My conservative view is drill baby drill
You can say you hate me but
I’m praying for you still
My dislike for thee most def is not hyperbole
Taxes are the subject and I will spit them verbally
I’m just livin life a conservative philosophy
Sorry Hilary not a right wing conspiracy
We need more women with intellectual integrity
I’m talkin Megyn Kelly not Nancy Pelosi
My main motto is you best work hard
It’s not the hand you were given, but how you lay down your cards
I don’t speak lies but I spit the facts
28% the new capital gains tax
Porkulus bill lacks a few stats
The more money we spend, the more mine is worth Jack

The Bible says we’re a people under God,
Usin radar for radical Jihad
AIG was hooked up by Chris Dodd
A classy gift ain’t an Ipod
The standards of my crew ain’t republicans dude
I’m reppin Jesus Christ and conservative views
Study history and true conservative moves
Every single time they refuse to lose
I’m starting to see a modern day Jimmy Carter
When really nothin but a Reagan era starter”

Serious C:
“Yo, We americans son
Hit ya with some knowledge
The movement has begun
Everyone can succeed
Because our soldiers bleed, for us
I said it in the verse,
now I’ll say it in the chorus”

Stiltz:
“We young conservatives son
Hard work is our motto
The movement has begun
EVERYONE can succeed cause our soldiers bleed, daily
My views are rock solid, no chance you can break me”

Serious C:
“Phase me, make me, into something that ain’t me
Serious c… can’t nobody shake me
great like the Gatsby, poppin posers like acne
Don’t matter if your (homosexual), straight, Christian or Muslim
There’s one thing we all hate, called socialism.
It’s loathsome, and America ain’t the outcome,
Raise taxes on the people,
And you’re gonna feel symptoms, problems
I gotta message for a young con:
superman that socialism,
waterboard that terrorism”

Stiltz:
“I fulfill the role that’s inherently mine
Teaching politics through my rap and my rhyme
I’m signing off this track with a question in mind
How will this country get its precious change in time?
Three things taught me conservative love:
Jesus, Ronald Reagan, plus Atlas Shrugged
Saving our nation from inflation devastation
On my hands and my knees praying for salvation”

Serious C:
“Yo, We americans son
Hit ya with some knowledge
The movement has begun
Everyone can succeed
Because our soldiers bleed, for us
I said it in the verse,
now I’ll say it in the chorus”

Stiltz:
“We young conservatives son
Hard work is our motto
The movement has begun
EVERYONE can succeed cause our soldiers bleed, daily
My views are rock solid, no chance you can break me”

Young Conservatives is a group with a devout mission to spread the love and logic surrounding true conservatism. Our greatest enemy lies in the lack of understanding of the conservative movement. In a technological era driven fiercely by the main stream media, those who taut the true conservative message of individual responsibility, moral absolutes, and small government are slanted as intolerant, racist, "bible and gun clinging", corporate fat cats who could not care less about the environment nor the well being of their fellow man. Being Christian or conservative or a combination of the two is not viewed as popular in American Society. This group clearly proves otherwise. Don't feel afraid or silenced, and always speak your mind.”

Christian M.I.A.s

The following lyrics of a song, Missing in Action, I believe were written by Ray Lewis of the Lewis & Lewis singing team. Lewis & Lewis sang the song, Come on Down to the Farm, that I first saw on YouTube. Their webiste is http://www.lewisandlewis.org/ You can download Ray's song here: Download "MIA" Free.

You can also read a very in-depth analysis of the current state of the church in the world today, which really makes you think. The song speaks for itself.

Missing in Action
by Ray Lewis

All around the battle rages,
You can’t escape the sound,
From the back roads of this country
To the streets of our hometown.

In the courts and in the classrooms
On the jobs you work today,
War has been declared
Against the old time Christian way.

The church is under siege
The saints, misunderstood,
The Bible is under fire,
And evil triumphs over good.

Sin is marching through the land
To plunder, rob and steal,
While half the army of the Lord
Avoids the battlefield.

Chorus
Missin’ in action, missin’ in action,
This army of Christian M.I.A.s
While they say they love the Lord,
But they never draw the sword.
They’ll talk of right,
But they won’t fight.
These Christian M.I.A.s.

Church bells ring and choirs sing,
It’s Sunday meetin’ time
We sing Onward Christian Soldiers
And Keep on the Firing Line.

Ah, but then comes Monday morning
What a difference one day makes
The mighty host of yesterday
Can’t be found today.

Chorus
Missin’ in action, missin’ in action,
This army of Christian M.I.A.s,
Ah, they say they love the Lord
But they never draw the sword.
They’ll talk of right,
But they won’t fight.
These Christian M.I.A.s.

They’ll talk of right,
But they won’t fight.
These Christian M.I.A.s.
