"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)

.
Amidst all the glowing rhetoric of many including our teleprompted President, who yesterday eulogized the last of the famed Kennedy brothers, and amidst all the accolades, hoopla, pomp, and ceremony of the dragged out funeral festivities, much of the truth about the ‘Liberal Lion of the Senate’ remains buried by an adoring and complicit leftist press and media. Here is the other side or the rest of the story, a press release which I was forwarded from Pharmacists for Life International (PFLI):

SCANDAL AT MISSION CHURCH IN BOSTON

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts today decried the scandal which occurred this morning at Boston's most historic Catholic shrine --- the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, known as "Mission Church" --- where a Mass of Christian Burial was used to “celebrate the life” of one of America's most notorious opponents of Catholic morality, the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Senator Kennedy fought for more than three decades to keep the killing of pre-born children legal and unrestricted in the United States.

Surgical abortion has claimed more than fifty-one (51) million human lives since 1973. The Catholic religion defines abortion as an “abominable crime”. [
PFLI estimates conservatively that a total of 277 Million innocent preborns have died by means of chemical, surgical and mechanical abortions in that time in the US].

President Barack Obama delivered the eulogy, in which he alluded to Kennedy's support for gay rights. One of the Prayers of the Faithful was a petition to end divisions “between gays and straights”.

Ecclesial participants included Rev. Raymond Collins, Rector of the Basilica; Rev. Mark Hession, Kennedy’s parish priest from Our Lady of Victories Church in Centerville on Cape Cod; Rev. J. Donald Monan, Chancellor of Boston College; and Sean Cardinal O'Malley, Archbishop of Boston, who thanked President Obama for his words and his presence. Both the homilist, Fr. Hession, and Cardinal O'Malley suggested that the late senator had found eternal salvation.

The Catholic Action League called the event “
a tragic example of the Church’s willingness to surrender to the culture, and serve Caesar rather than Christ”.

Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle stated: “Senator Kennedy supported legal abortion, partial-birth abortion, the public funding of Medicaid abortions, embryonic stem cell research, birth control, federal family planning programs, and so-called emergency contraception. He defended Roe v. Wade, endorsed the proposed Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), and opposed both the Human Life Amendment and the Hyde Amendment. Kennedy maintained a 100% rating from both NARAL and Planned Parenthood. In 1993, he received the Kenneth Edelin Award from Planned Parenthood, and in 2000 received the Champions of Choice Award from NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts at the hands of the same Dr. Kenneth Edelin, the infamous abortionist.”

During his 1994 reelection campaign, Kennedy said ‘I wear as a badge of honor my opposition to the anti-choicers’. His successful obstruction of the nomination of Judge Robert Bork to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1987 effectively prevented the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Beyond his specific positions on human life issues, Senator Kennedy, along with the late Congressman Robert Drinan, provided the cover and the example for two generations of Catholic politicians to defect from Church teaching on the sanctity of innocent human life.”

“No rational person can reasonably be expected to take seriously Catholic opposition to abortion when a champion of the Culture of Death, who repeatedly betrayed the Faith of his baptism, is lauded and extolled by priests and prelates in a Marian basilica. This morning's spectacle is evidence of the corruption which pervades the Catholic Church in the United States. The right to life will never be recognized by secular society if it is not first vindicated and consistently upheld within the institutions of the Church itself.”

The Third McCain-Obama Debate

Life and Death Issues

I signed on to FRC Action's Petition to Bob Schieffer, host of CBS Face the Nation and moderator of the Third and Final Presidential Debate, Wednesday, October 15, 2008. The basic petition reads as follows. It will be interesting to see if ANY of these questions will be addressed tomorrow.

Dear Mr. Schieffer:

The American people face many crucial issues in this year's elections, including the state of the economy, immigration, health care, the environment, and foreign policy. The first two presidential debates this year, however, have failed to include the most pressing social issues on the minds of values voters. We the undersigned urge you to ask questions along the lines of those listed below, which discuss the future of marriage and the sanctity of human life. These are questions that matter to all Americans, and you have the last remaining opportunity for the American people to compare the candidates' answers as they appear together for the final presidential debate of 2008.

· Do you believe that the U.S. Constitution contains a right for homosexuals to marry?

· Would you change the traditional definition of marriage contained in the federal Defense of Marriage Act?

· Do you support the Defense of Marriage Act's provision allowing states not to recognize same-sex marriages from other states?

· Have you ever opposed any ballot initiative seeking to define marriage as a relationship between one man and one woman?

· Do you agree or disagree with the Supreme Court's decision allowing the government to ban abortions that kill a partially born baby?

· Have you ever supported or opposed any law designed to protect the lives of babies that have survived an attempted abortion?

Moderating a debate is a great responsibility that rests on your shoulders. We ask that you exercise that responsibility with great care to ensure that the American people have the chance to know where the candidates stand on every pressing issue.

Thank you for taking our views into consideration.

Obama is a Radical Supporter of Abortion

.
.

Barack Hussein Obama, if elected, would be the Abortion President. He would be a staunch Pro-Homosexual President. He would, above all, be a Socialist/Marxist President.

I commend this article, which I recently came across, please read "40 Reasons not to Vote for Barack Obama (not a complete list)."

FOCA: Not A Good Choice

FOCA: Preserving the Right to Kill Babies (murdered baby at 22 weeks)

.

Within minutes of the announcement of the relatively non-consequential U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding the partial-birth abortion ban the pro-abortion members in Congress doing the bidding of the National Abortion Rights Action League {NARAL) and others introduced the Freedom of Choice [preserving the right to kill innocent human beings] Act (FOCA) in April. Senators Hillary Rodham-Clinton, Charles Schumer among others introduced a bill intended to codify abortion into law. Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice calls it, “nothing less than a brazen, political move” and “dangerous.”

NARAL’s own website really exaggerates the true affect of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding the partial-birth abortion ban. for (1) fund-raising purposes Another reason for seeking passage of the Freedom of Choice Act (to protect the “right” to kill innocent human beings) is another (2) opportunity to further strengthen this immoral, unethical, inhumane abortion “right” and practice manufactured by a misguided, activist immoral Supreme Court in opposition to the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, common sense and all moral law.

NARAL
’s website spews forth incessant lies, “Following the Supreme Court's closely divided and bitter decision upholding the Federal Abortion Ban [A blatant lie, all the ruling did was uphold the ban on one gruesome late term aboriion procedure.], it is clear that the right to choose is facing a new level of assault...

"A woman's right to choose [to murder her baby] hangs by a thread in the Supreme Court [absolutely false – except or a minor morale booster for the pro-life forces- it means nothing to preserving life], and President Bush has already appointed two anti-choice Justices to the highest court in the land.

"FOCA will restore [Roe v. Wade should never have been decided against protecting the life of the innocent baby] the reproductive rights recognized under the [blinded by the lie that the fetus is not a human being] vision expressed in 1973 in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, before anti-choice legislators and courts chipped away at these rights."
[ a lie – the ban on partial birth abortion will not actually save few if any babies, they will just be murdered using other “approved” abortion procedures – from a wide arsenal of “weapons of choice” used by the murderous abortionists.]

TAKE ACTION

Make A Good Choice . . . today and contact your representatives in the House and Senate and ask them to oppose the life-threatening Freedom of Choice Act, H.R. 1964 and S. 1173)

Supreme Court, Bassinet or Basket Case?

D and E to substitute for partial-birth abortion as abortionist's "weapon of choice"

I was listening to a radio interview of Mark Crutcher, President of the pro-life group Life Dynamics Incorporated (LDI), on my mp3 player on my drive to work this morning. The subject was the recent US Supreme Court decision to support the federal ban on the partial-birth abortion procedure (aka D and X, or Dilation and Extraction: a surgical abortion procedure used to terminate a pregnancy after 21 weeks of gestation). While some in the pro-life movement hail it as a great victory Mark Crutcher has some serious reservations about its overall impact.

Here is a quote from Mr. Crutcher’s
blog on this topic, “Beyond its positive psychological impact (on pro-life advocates and activists) the ban on partial-birth abortion is meaningless as it relates to the actual killing of unborn children. That’s because this ban controls the how, not the whether. Remember, even during the time that this procedure was allowed, most late-term abortions were accomplished using other methods – the most common being D&E. Unfortunately, D and E (D and E is an abortion procedure also called Dilation and Evacuation - see illustration above) and all of these other procedures are still legal which means that any baby who would have been killed by partial-birth abortion before will now be killed by one of these other methods.’

Interestingly there was even some discussion during the radio interview that I listened to that ironically the D and X or partial birth procedure may even less cruel then the D and E abortion procedure. Because under the D and E the baby is sliced and diced before it is born. The bottom line is that Mr. Crutcher concludes that no babies will be saved as a result of this ruling they will only suffer extermination by another procedure. The abortionist will not allow a big payday to slip by without choosing another weapon of choice . . .

Mr. Crutcher further commented about how this decision to uphold the partial birth abortion ban will influence the U.S. Supreme Court in other abortion related decisions that come its way in the future. His pointed assessment was, “Trying to predict what the United States Supreme Court will or will not do is a fool’s game. The reality is, when the Court abandoned the Constitution as the basis for its rulings – which it did years ago – by definition it became totally unpredictable.” What a great summary of the current state of affairs of our not-so-illustrious US Supreme Court. With the likes of Ruth Ginsburg on the bench, a former ACLU general counsel, that one rotten apple has got to affect the other apples in the basket. You could almost say the U.S. Supreme Court is a basket case.

Mr. Crutcher concludes his blog article by giving pro-life advocates this admonition, “So my advice is (a) pause for a moment to celebrate the victory (upholding the ban on partial birth abortions), (b) don’t read more into it than is actually there, and (c) get back to work. (because) Babies are still dying."

Culture Killers

The two major culture impacting news items this week were: (1) the Supreme Court's upholding of the law banning the partial birth abortion procedure and (2) the Virginia Tech massacre.
.
.
In 2003 those contentious comrades, the liberal left, immediately tied up in the courts the law banning partial birth abortions when it was passed by both the United States House of Representatives and the Senate and signed by the President. The law codified the will of the majority of Americans. Most Americans think that this heinous procedure is way over the line. Obviously, the profane left thought (and still think) otherwise and tied up the law in court. The ungodly left apparently cares for nothing except to advance its corrupt agenda at any and all costs. Only this week the United States Supreme Court dared to reject, for once, the liberal’s wicked agenda and upheld this law.

On an internet forum last night I wrote, “. . . . . . Upholding the law banning this horrid procedure (partial birth abortion) was but a small step forward in the culture-of-life versus the culture-of-death battle being waged in America. The VT massacre and (this) frenzied advocacy of partial birth abortion (as well as all abortion, embryonic stem cell research, cloning and euthanasia) are emblematic of a society infiltrated and infected by godless secular humanism (which is the core philosophy of the liberal left).”

My statement irked a reader on the forum.

The reader scolded me calling the Supreme Court’s decision “awful and wrong” contending that “there is ample medical evidence that there actually ARE times when the health of the mother makes this (partial birth abortion) procedure necessary.” No, this is plain ridiculous and a outright lie. The cases where a mother’s health is in jeopardy ARE rare, very, very rare in this day and age of advancement in technology and medicine. This health exception is primarily used as a lame loophole used to justify all abortion at any time for any reason.

The forum reader also said that it was “outrageous and insulting” for me “to twist” the bloody massacre at Virginia Tech with a “valid medical procedure.”

Who is being insulted? The conscience and morals of this nation are insulted by the partial birth abortion procedure! Is the partial birth abortion procedure a VALID medical procedure - to kill a fellow human being who is about to be born by painfully and inhumanely cutting and suctioning his or her brains out of its skull? No, this is the worst example of the depravity of man. To me this on-going baby slaughter is worse than the VT massacre. A massacre, an execution, is committed every time an abortionist kills any pre-born baby. In fact, we have allowed nearly 50 million babies to be massacred in the United States since Roe v. Wade in 1973.

The American holocaust is a much greater affront to the values and principles upon which America was established than even the inhumane horrible massacre on the VT campus this week. This acceptance of abortion and occurrences such as the VT massacres have a common origin or cause, the pernicious influence of secular humanism on this society. Indeed, it is the root cause of the rot that exists in America today.

A Partial Victory

The Supreme Court in a narrow 5-4 decision today upheld the partial birth abortion ban. Yes! Thank You God! It is a victory. Surprisingly Justice Kennedy wrote the opinion for the majority. He is a moderate (read near-or-mostly-liberal) voice on the court, usually voting for the liberal or wrong side of any major culture impacting court decision. This is a baby-step in the right direction, pun intended, at least for a few nearly born babies who will now have the right to take their first breath and their first steps.

What the left is saying about the U.S. Supreme Court Decision Today to Uphold the Partial Birth Abortion Ban

“Federal Abortion Ban” The Supreme Court has done the unthinkable and upheld the Federal Abortion Ban [ A LIE ] with no exception for a woman's health. We can fight back with the Freedom of Choice Act, but we need your help to make it happen. --- National Abortion Rights Action League website

Supreme Court Upholds Abortion Procedure Ban "Most Political Decision Since Bush v. Gore" --- National Organization of Women website

Court ruling on Federal Abortion Ban [ A LIE ] endangers women's health. Donate now as Planned Parenthood mobilizes in response to the Supreme Court's reckless decision to uphold the federal abortion ban [ A LIE ] — a ban that tells women that politicians, not doctors, will make their health care decisions for them. --- Planned Parenthood Federation of America website

“Our Right to Choose” The Supreme Court decision to restrict abortion procedures [ A LIE – one heinous abortion procedure, Queen Hillary ] with no regard for a woman’s health is a fundamental attack on a woman’s right to choose and a dramatic departure from decades of rulings that put the our right and our health first.” - -- Hillary Clinton dot com website

Upholding the partial birth abortion ban, where the practice of suctioning a baby’s brain out of his or her skull while he or she is in the process being born, is truly a no-brainer. You know we treat animals better than these victims of partial birth abortion, our fellow human beings. But this cruel and unusual punishment or procedure has been permitted to proceed for two years or so since it was first passed and signed by the President. Isn’t it enlightening that the all of the Republican candidates for President support the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the ban on partial birth abortion, while the party to the left all emphatically decry today’s ruling! Furthermore, it shows the great importance to elect a non-liberal President in ’08 and the critical importance of the Alito and the Roberts appointments to the Supreme Court.

The profane left, driven by the likes of the greedy inhuman Planned Parenthood Federation of America, nasty National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) and the National Organization of Woman (NOW) brood among other pernicious pro-death organizations, each of which respect life about as much as an Ayatollah respects a Christian’s right to practice his or her religion in Iran. These same murderous mercenaries, who will with a straight face and with all the gall of Massachusetts, scream that the constitution has been violated. However, the reality is that every abortion is a violation of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, common sense and decency, and the very conscience of man. Yes, abortion contradicts and is an anathema to every value and principle that is truly American.

The radical left will use this “defeat” for assorted fundraising gimmickry, as an attempt to rally the most radical of its element and to intensify the pressure on already unprincipled politicians and jurists to do more to institutionalize this horrid right of any woman to “legally” do away with her offspring for convenience sake or any other bloody excuse that she may dream up.

I briefly heard Rush Limbaugh’s comments at noon today. He stated that the left will try to embarrass, harass, blame, belittle and otherwise put intense pressure on Justice Kennedy. The liberal leftist elite will fain fake outrage and horror at this relatively minor setback to their most ignoble cause. Both the main stream media and other leftist factions will join forces in a massive campaign to discredit and denigrate Justice Kennedy’s decision, so that on the next major culture of death case he will not stray this far from the liberal party line. In other words, Justice Kennedy is a marked man, a target.

Let us rejoice for a few minutes, for a few hours in savoring this victory, yet let us be ready to battle again tomorrow on the front line against all those working so diligently, so concertedly and so completely to destroy America.
