The Neutering of the Republican Party in Congress

Why in the world would the GOP so completely relinquish their power of the "purse to the purse" to the President and to Ms. Pelosi and Senator Reid in the Congress without any fight for basic party principles in the deliberation over the massive year-end appropriations spending bill introduced this week?

I am very disappointed, frustrated and discouraged with the current state of the Republican Party. Why did we work to help the GOP gain the Senate and increase House membership? We are about to witness today, December 18, 2015, the complete and utter cave-in of the GOP to the Democrat Party perverse progressive agenda of Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. There has been no apparent change in the actions of Paul Ryan who appears to be a regurgitation of John Boehner, Boehner 2.0. All talk and no action. The Party surrenders it principles for what reason I do not know. Is it with the avoiding confrontation with the hope of maintaining power and/or the status quo? 

Here is the email I just sent to my two RINO reps in Congress. I don't expect that they will do anything, however.

Re:  Omnibus Appropriations Bill

Please do not vote for the Omnibus Bill today. It funds every major point of the Obama/Democrat Progressive Agenda including:

* ObamaCare
* Syrian Refugee Resettlement Program
* Planned Parenthood
* Obama's Executive Amnesty

"Santorum In, Tiberi Out"

That is the Election Day battle cry in Ohio. Rick Santorum is the only marginally acceptable candidate on the GOP ballot. Fellow blogger, Matt, points out in a number of posts some of Santorum’s shortcomings. However, to me the other three candidates have even worse flaws than the former Senator.

Romney and Gingrich are serial flip floppers and inconsistent. As Governor and as Senate candidate Willard Mitt Romney was for same-sex marriage, abortion, and government mandated healthcare before he was against it. Speaker Newt Gingrich sat on the couch with Nancy Pelosi touting global warming.

Despite his right-on fiscal and government restraint ideas, Representative Ron Paul believes that Iran and Islam are inconsequential threats to America. He believes that hard drugs should be legalized. He believes that the federal government should have no involvement in the matter of abortion or same-sex marriage. These issues, he claims, should be left to the states. I disagree.

John Boehner’s boy, Congressman Pat Tiberi, wants to be my new congressman, thanks to the magical process of redistricting. Unfortunately he towed the GOP line in regards to the debt deal and the debt ceiling, voting the party line on both of these matters. The Tea Party participants and members of Congress who stand for Tea Party Movement principles decried both the debt deal and increasing the debt ceiling without any meaningful future cuts in spending. Pat Tiberi, like many others in Congress went along to get along. I will vote for Bill Yarborough, Tiberi’s opponent, primarily because Tiberi is just another unprincipled, compromising “conservative.”

Time for Tiberi Term Limit

Candidates in the Ohio 12th U.S. Congressional District will debate from 2 to 4 p.m. today in Newark, Ohio. The Newark (Ohio) Advocate newspaper is streaming the event live. You can view it here.

The debate will be shown live at The new district includes seven Central Ohio counties, including Licking, Morrow and parts of Muskingum, Richland and Marion.

With the redistricting I will no longer be represented by conservative champion, Rep. Jim Jordan. RINO and U.S. House Speaker John Boehner lackey Rep. Pat Tiberi now is running to become my representative. Tiberi is as conservative as Presidential candidate and faux conservative Willard Mitt Romney. These imitation or born-again 'conservatives' (are cons) at election time must be defeated. Six terms for this kowtower to the GOP establishment is more than enough.
