106 Christians Brutally Murdered by Boko Haram Militants in Northern Nigeria

 

Christian Slaughter by Islamic Terrorists in Northern Nigeria Continues Unabated

2/17/2014 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) - International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that106 Christians were brutally murdered by suspected Boko Haram militants in an attack on a Christian village in northern Nigeria over the weekend. According to reports, the vast majority of the Christians killed were men rounded up by the militants and executed by either having their throats slit or being shot in the village square. This marks the deadliest single attack on Christian in Nigeria in months.   According to  BosNewsLife, the attacked on the Christian village of Izghe, located in Nigeria's northern state of Borno, began late Saturday night, Feb. 15.  Around one hundred militants, suspected by Nigerian government officials to be connected to the Boko Haram terrorist network, wearing military uniforms surrounded the village with armed vehicles and began to round up Christian men living there.   After rounding up a large group of Christian men, the militants began to execute them in the village square. Survivors of the attack reported to the BBC that many of the Christian victims were shot, but several had their throats slit by the militants.   Next, the militants went door to door in the village searching for Christian men they failed to kill in the village square. In total, it is believed that 106 Christians were murdered in the attack on Izghe, which lasted 5 hours. Of those 106, 105 were men and 1 was an elderly woman trying to protect her grandson, the senator of Borno state told the BBC.   "All the dead bodies of the victims are still lying in the streets," resident Abubakar Usman told Reuters. "We fled without burying them, fearing the terrorists were still lurking in the bushes."      Boko Haram is an Islamic terrorist network group currently fighting the Nigerian government for control of northern Nigeria. The Boko Haram group desires to establish a separate Islamic state in Nigeria's northern states where it can enact an ultra conservative interpretation of Sharia law. Since beginning its armed insurgency in 2009, Boko Haram has killed thousands of people in Nigeria, often targeting Christians for some of the most brutal acts of violence. In early 2012, Boko Haram leaders demanded all Christians to leave northern Nigeria so that the group could create a purely Islamic society. Since then, Boko Haram has perpetrated church bombings, drive-by shootings and Christian pogroms across northern Nigeria.   ICC's Regional Manager for Africa, William Stark, said, "The attack on Izghe marks the single deadliest attack on Christian in months. 106 Christians were murdered in Izghe for no other reason than their religious identity. Attacks like the attack on Izghe are meant to terrorize the Christian community that continues to live in northern Nigeria. The United States designated Boko Haram a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 2013, which would allow the U.S. to take more direct action against the terrorist network.  Unfortunately, the U.S. has yet to do this. The Nigerian government continues to fail protect Christian villages and has allowed hundreds of Christians to be killed in 2014 already. More decisive action must be taken to end the bloodshed. If action is not taken, the slaughter of Christians in northern Nigeria could reach genocidal levels in the near future."

The Latest Setback for Christian Science Teacher John Freshwater

The secular humanistic National Center for Science Education reported the following news today regarding the much maligned and persecuted Christian science teacher in Ohio, John Freshwater.

“John Freshwater's legal challenge to the decision to terminate his employment as a middle school science teacher in Mount Vernon, Ohio, failed on October 5, 2011, when a Knox County Common Pleas Court ruled against him. The Mount Vernon News (October 5, 2011) reported that the judge wrote, "there is clear and convincing evidence to support the Board of Education's termination of Freshwater's contract(s) for good and just cause," denied Freshwater's request for further hearings, and ordered him to pay the cost of the hearings. The Columbus Dispatch (October 5, 2011) added that Freshwater now has thirty days to appeal the decision to the Fifth Court of Appeals.

“The decision was the latest development in a long saga which began in 2008, when a local family accused Freshwater of engaging in inappropriate religious activity — including teaching creationism — and sued Freshwater and the district. The Mount Vernon City School Board then voted to begin proceedings to terminate his employment. After administrative hearings that proceeded sporadically over two years, the referee presiding over the hearings finally issued his recommendation that the board terminate his employment with the district, and the board voted to do so in January 2011. Freshwater challenged that decision in court on February 8, 2011, as NCSE previously reported.”

It’s so un-American: Man terminated at CISCO for his politically incorrect religious beliefs

This week I heard on the alternative media's Today’s Issues radio show on the American Family Radio network a news story that will not be covered by the pro-homosexual, pro-Democrat Party press. It is the story of a leadership trainer, Dr. Frank Turek, who was fired from his position at CISCO, the computer networking system giant, for having politically incorrect beliefs. It illustrates how corrupted society including industry is becoming by the influence of the homosexual agenda and the effectiveness of homosexual advocates ‘activism.

Now with New York approving the same-sex perversion version of “marriage” just last night, this wholly unnatural, unhealthy, abnormal same-sex lifestyle is advancing like a malignant tumor. It is dangerous not only on a moral, spiritual level. It is dangerous because it not only accepts, it condones, it encourages, it now institutionalizes sinful, ungodly behavior. Unchecked, it will lead to this nation’s demise as surely as our cancerous debt and deficit will.

I am writing today to express my disappointment at learning that your company terminated Dr. Frank Turek for his religious beliefs, even though those beliefs were never shared during the leadership and team building program he was hired to present. The idea that a person could be fired because someone complained about his or her personal beliefs after searching for the information on the Internet is outrageous. I urge to reinstate Dr. Turek and take appropriate action against the individual(s) responsible for his wrongful firing.

I have been following this story on www.Townhall.com online and look forward to reading and/or hearing your response to this matter. July 4th is the holiday we celebrate freedom and liberty in America. What Cisco did to Dr. Turek was rob him of his individual freedom and personal liberty. This is shameful. This is un-American

Living Dangerously

Last night I attended the North American Christian Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the main session, a very dynamic speaker delivered an important message. Dr. Ajai Lall is a preacher in central India. He got an opportunity to preach in a part of India controlled by extremists. But he was told that he had to sign a piece of paper which gave the police the right to shoot him if he said anything to agitate the crowd. He singed the piece of paper and preached to gospel to these people. He told about another missionary, whose wife was raped by 10 Muslim extremists, but he kept on preaching and he eventually baptized 4 of them when they repented asked to receive Jesus.

We complain about a lot things that are wrong with America on this blog, but most of these things are nothing compared to what Christians face in many parts of the world (not just Muslim nations). Dr. Ajai Lall said that we need to be extremists, not like the ones mentioned above, but extreme with respect to compassion, forgiveness, and love.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Fulfillment of Prophecy

I have mentioned on this blog before that there is a specific Biblical reference (Revelation 18:1-4) to the war in Iraq, the overthrow of its government (:1) and a plea for Christians to leave (:3). Critics of this teaching say that this passage doesn’t fit Babylon because Iraq does not significantly persecute the saints (Revelation 17:6). But recent news reports have confirmed the literal fulfillment of this prophecy in modern times. There were over a million Christians living in Iraq before the war and they were not significantly persecuted under Saddam. But since the war, the persecution of Iraqi Christians has intensified to the point that 90% of them are now gone. Sure, it isn’t the Maliki government that’s doing the persecution, but this government is only the official government, not the ones who are really running the country. The American troops aren’t defending the Iraqi Christians either. So it’s really the Muslim fundamentalists who are in control of modern Babylon as far as what religion is allowed and they are the ones who are “drunk with the blood of the saints”. The prophecy is fulfilled. If Christians would have heeded Revelation 18:4 (with the mindset that its fulfillment would be forthcoming after the fulfillment of Revelation 18:1), then many lives would have been saved.

Should you, then, vote for Barack Obama? Certainly not. This blog is filled with articles and containing reasons why he is neither a follower of Christ nor a good statesman. Obama has said that he couldn’t guarantee that the U.S would pull out all of its troops before the end of what would be his first term if he were elected! That is January of 2013! Now more than ever we need to be looking to Christ, not some silver-tongued politician to guide our lives in these troubling times.
