Take Back This Nation, part 3

I attended the Proclamation March this last Sunday afternoon at the Bulldogs Roadhouse Restaurant. This event was in support of the right to bear arms. The main speaker was Rand Paul, son of Ron Paul and likely candidate for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky in 2010. (The incumbent, Jim Bunning has just dropped out of the race according to Fox News.) I am not ready to endorse him yet, but probably will once I find out all of his positions on the issues. Anyone in Kentucky who wants to vote for him (or any other Republican) in the 2010 primary must be registered as a Republican by December 31, 2009. Great speech and answer session, Rand!

Speeches were also given by Ian Grumbine, Brenda Wehrman, and Kentucky Gubenatorial candidate Gatewood Galbraith. Tennessee Gubenatorial candidate Carl “two feathers” Whittaker could not make it.

Take Back This Nation, part 2

In part 1, I wrote about the Proclamation March and two anti-2nd Amendment bills.

The SHOUT heard ‘round the world
TAKE BACK the 2nd AMENDMENT

The Proclamation March is this Sunday (July 26th) at 2 p.m.
Location: Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati
Gather at the Bulldogs Roadhouse Restaurant, 2015 Declaration Drive, Independence, KY, 41051

At the historically named location of Independence Kentucky on 2015 Declaration Drive (20-minutes from downtown Cincinnati ), a Constitution-inspired 2nd Amendment “Proclamation March” will occur on Sunday, 2 p.m. July 26th to commemorate the “Shot heard ‘round the world.” People from Ohio , Kentucky and even Tennessee will be attending.

On the rally’s website, http://www.takebackthisnation.org/ which contains more information about the event, organizer Brenda Wehrman writes: “Many know this story from their history books – but what we weren’t told is that this proclamation of liberty ‘heard ‘round the world’ started because the British were coming to confiscate their weapons.” This statement is followed by a quote from George Washington: “Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth” contrasted by a rather provocative quote from Vladimir Lenin: “One man with a gun can control 100 without one.”

In an interview, Brenda Wehrman says, “Citizens all across America are clearly concerned that their rights may be in jeopardy because every gun store owner I talk to tells me that they can’t seem to keep enough ammunition in stock.” This is depicted in a short movie she directed to highlight the upcoming “Proclamation March.” The movie can be seen at the website and has a cast of local volunteer actors. The main character, Ian Grumbine, goes back in time to the evening of April 18th when he finds he is Paul Revere visited by a founding father who spurs him to take his Midnight ride to warn the colonists of the advancing British army.

Speakers from both sides of the aisle will address the rally including Dr. Rand Paul who is running for the Senate in Kentucky and Gatewood Galbraith , Kentucky Gubernatorial candidate. Attendees can arrive early to mix and mingle and enjoy food and beverages at discounted prices available by a primary sponsor and host of the event: the Bulldogs Roadhouse. The restaurant is located on Declaration Drive in Independence Kentucky . All are welcome. There is no cover charge. For more information and to see the movie, visit the website: http://www.takebackthisnation.org/. Pass this on. Let’s have a lot of people turning up. If for some reason, you can’t come yourself, please click on “Join” the 2nd Amendment cause to show your solidarity.More details at http://takebackthisnation.org/

Here are three bills to support:

Citizens Protection Act of 2009, H.R.3021 (To repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 and amendments to that Act)

Second Amendment Protection Act of 2009, H.R.3022 (To restore the second amendment rights of all Americans)

Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009, H.R.3023 (To provide for the safety of United States aviation and the suppression of terrorism)

Take Back This Nation, part 1

Another bill which has had so much added to it is H.R. 627. This is actually a bill which supposedly protects consumers from unscrupulous credit card. But Senator Tom Coburn has added an amendment to it which would actually protect hunters from being prosecuted for hunting in Federal Parks. The bill has passed with the amendment and Obama is expected to sign it! But this will be of little consequence if the Obama administration gets its way. (There shouldn’t even be any such thing as a “Federal Park” because this is unconstitutional.)

Two bills have been introduced into the Congress which are both an affront to our liberties. H.R. 45 is a bill that is designed to give government more of an ability to harass people for purchasing guns. H.R. 2159 is a bill which would ban the sale of firearms to people who fit certain profiles which makes them “potential terrorists”. Both of these bills are so long that most congressman will not even read them if they come up for a vote.

Get ready for the Proclamation March! This event will take place Sunday 2 p.m. July 26th in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky. The organizers of this event are trying to make this into a nationwide event and are calling for organizers from other cities to schedule a Proclamation Marches around the country. Click here if you are interested. The organizers of this event are not going to stop with the 2nd Amendment, but plan on organizing similar marches for other the amendments in the Bill of Rights which have been repeatedly violated by government in recent years. Get on board now! Let’s show the Establishment that we are not just upset at high taxes! Let’s get this think going!
