Driehaus is wavering on H.R. 3200. He is concerned about the way the plan is going to be paid for, but agrees with the basic principle of a “public option”. (But he also says doesn’t believe that the plan will add to the deficit. Huh?) He blames Reagan the Bush tax cuts for the deficit.

He says that if he does vote for it and it passes, he will go on the “public option” like everyone else. (Let’s be sure to hold him to it.) He is not fazed by the fact that people would have pay extra taxes if they refused to go on the plan.

He just doesn't get it that whole idea of government getting involved in healthcare is a bad idea. He argues that a "public option" is needed in markets where there is no competition. He doesn't get that government regulations have caused the lack of competition in these markets.

Even though he says he is against funding of abortion, but seems to shrug off the question and does not say that he wouldn’t vote for it if it does have any abortion funding in it. He doesn’t understand that we know that if taxpayer money is going into the hands of murders, it doesn’t matter whether or not the money is specifically allocated for that purpose. The result is the same.

Someone asked about funding of healthcare for illegal aliens. He responded by saying that there are already laws which force hospitals to admit illegals into emergency. He tells some story about an illegal alien pregnant woman and that no good Catholic would turn such a person away. Of course, it may be that no good Catholic would personally turn such a person away, but this has nothing to do forcing people to pay taxes for a government. And the healthcare bill being considered, would of course, provide healthcare for illegal aliens in non-emergency situations.

The Right Way to Amend the Constitution, part 9

This is part nine of an ongoing series of articles containing proposals for amendments to the Constitution. For someone who claims so fervently to be a “Constitutionalist”, how is it that I can be so eager to change the Constitution? Well, there are several reasons. For one thing, I believe that after the Bill of Rights, much damage was done by some of the amendments that were added and the legitimacy of some of their ratifications are questionable. Secondly, the Constitution has been violated so much that the necessity of further amendments is needed to resolve the resulting problems. But this should be done extremely cautiously. These amendments are extremely unlikely to ever be introduced, much less ratified, but hey, I can dream, can’t I?

Here is this week’s proposed amendment (subject to revision):

Section 1: The United States Post Office, all of its subsidiaries, and any mail delivery services under the control of the United States shall, within a period of three years from the date of the ratification of this amendment, be liquidated and the properties and facilities affected shall be sold. The proceeds from these sales shall be used to pay down the National Debt.

Section 2: All restrictions in the laws of the United States on the delivery of mail by private mail delivery services are hereby repealed.

Section 3: The Power to establish a Post office and Post roads shall no longer be vested in Congress.

This amendment is needed because the Post Office, like all other government run businesses is full of waste. Also, this is a subject not covered in the Liberty Amendment, because the Constitution does give the Congress the right to establish a Post Office. With the advent of email and the internet, this service is no longer as crucial as it once was. And if it was adopted, the employees of the Post Office would then be working for private corporations which would be less likely to selectively harass them for their political beliefs (the Hatch Act restricts political activities of Federal employees).

According to the Von Mises Institute, even Barack Obama says, “It's the post office that's always having problems …” in an inept attempt to downplay the effect of private businesses being driven out of business by government run businesses. What way to prove the point that government businesses are an OK thing! Read more of this story at:

(Zanesville, Ohio AGC News) The first sign of the times is another spontaneous TEA Party/Town Hall event (minus the Representative!), which I attended and which was held at US Congressman Zach Space's District Office in Zanesville this afternoon (Thursday). Standing in front of the wayward representative's office, approximately 50-75 patriot-protesters with handmade signs protested Space’s disinterest in hearing from We the People as well as Space’s vote on Cap and Trade (the Waxman-Markey Bill). He appears to be one of those whimpering blue dog Democrats running scared of the angry deranged kitty, Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He is also expected to vote for the so called Health Care Reform Bill (ObamaCare or America's 'Affordable' Health Care Plan of 2009). During this afternoon protest, it was announced that Space was schmoozing with a private party in Gambier, Ohio. How convenient. He is one of those Congressman this summer who is avoiding face to face confrontation with many of his ‘extremist' (translate that patriotic, conservative Americans) constituents. You can run, Zachary, but you won’t get elected . . . Coach Dave Daubenmire gave a poignant, provocative, patriotic, and passionate message about the historical and Christian foundation of America. A brief excerpt of his talk is included in the above embedded video.

The second sign is that the word is spreading. Even businesses are becoming emboldened to voice their concerns. As I was driving out of Zanesville a sign caught my eye and I just had to take a picture or two. The two photos in this article are two sides of the same sign seen as you travel down Maple Street in downtown Zanesville, Ohio.

Questions to ask our [Doctors,] Senators and Representative about ObamaCare

This is the nineth in a series of questions about ObamaCare (i.e., Socialized Medicine, Universal Healthcare, Single-Payer Healthcare, Government-Run Healthcare, or Nationalized Healthcare that we conservative and Christian patriots should strongly consider asking our U.S. Representatives and U. S. Senators over the next month, while the Congress is taking its summer recess. If their unnecessary and freedom-robbing healthcare reform, which is being forged and forced on America by the current administration and the current Democrat-controlled Congress is to be stopped, it is through the voices of many Americans – We the People. It’s a priority TEA Party action item.

The questions were developed by Gary Bauer (American Values) and are intended to be used in interactions in our Senators and Representatives during the next 30 days. President Obama has already conceded that there probably won't be a vote on healthcare reform until "the end of September or the middle of October." On page 909 of the House bill, grants to medical schools will be awarded "to entities that have a demonstrated record of the following...training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups or disadvantaged backgrounds." A new TV ad from the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List. www.sba-list.org is embedded below. It exposes the not so pro-life Nevada Senator Harry Reid as being more pro-death if judged by his actions, and not by his rhetoric. Senator Reid is up for reelection next year and appears to be very vulnerable because of his radical support for the extremely radical alleged President Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack Obama.

The YouTube description of the Harry Reid TV ad, below, reads, "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he is pro-life, but he voted to use US tax dollars to fund overseas abortions. He also voted to deny healthcare to unborn children of low-income women. Now Harry Reid is pushing a massive, government-run healthcare system requiring taxpayer funding for abortions, and he won't allow doctors or nurses the right to object (conscience provision for health care professionals). Harry Reid says he's pro-life, so call him, and tell him this time to vote that way."

ObamaCare: Abortion's Trojan Horse

This morning I heard on the news that the President is willing to drop the public option requirement in his so-called healthcare reform plan. Pressure is mounting in opposition to this unneeded and grossly flawed plan. There is more wrong with the plan than just the public option. He still is intent on passing healthcare 'reform' yet this year.

Following the abominable action of Notre Dame University earlier this year, when its administration invited radically pro-death President Soetoro a/k/a Obama to deliver its commencement address and to receive an honorary doctorate degree, other Catholic organizations are attempting to outdo the school in terms of atrocious behavior. Earlier this month, several large and influential Catholic social and health organizations encouraged their members to support the current ObamaCare supposed healthcare reform bill.

"Why would Catholic Charities USA do this? Well guess what, 5 days after endorsing ObamaCare, Catholic Charities USA, got its first ever federal contract worth $100 million dollars. In other words, JUDAS just got paid! ---American Life League (ALL), August 9, 2009

Catholic Charities USA, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Catholic Health Association have all thrown their weight behind (President Soetoro a/k/a) Obama's push for health care reform. In response, American Life League (ALL) exposes the Trojan Horse hidden in the bill that opens the way for abortion in the video embedded below. ALL is calling on Catholics and other Pro-Life proponents to demand that the bill be scrapped!

Following the video is a transcript of this important video. This video contains a great deal of ammunition for those who oppose the dastardly so-called health care reform bill and who want America to hold to a culture of life, rather than move even more toward a culture of death. Moving to secular socialism is exactly what this bill, euphemistically referred to as America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 or HR 3200, or ObamaCare, or the Euthanasia Bill, or the Abortion Bill, or Universal Healthcare, or Socialized Medicine, or Nationalized Medicine or Single Payer Healthcare, does.

“Some claim that the bill will obtain optimal healthcare for everyone in the country. And there are those who say the bill is targeting the elderly and infirmed for an early grave.

“And as the name calling begins and the shouting ensues, organizations like Catholic Charities USA, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Catholic Health (hospitals) Association (CHA), and Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) are all working to rally support for (Soetoro aka) Obama’s reform of the healthcare system.

“But if you want to understand what is really happening you must have to bite the bullet and read the bill itself to get to the truth. [gregjaye: Something even most Congressman can’t or won’t do.]

“HR 3200, commonly referred to as ObamaCare (or Universal Healthcare, Socialized Medicine, Nationalized Healthcare or Single-Payer Healthcare), is over 1000 pages long. . . .

“The authors of the ObamaCare bill knew full well that any mention of abortion or Planned Parenthood [gregjaye: the biggest and billion-dollar abortion provider in America] would create an uproar from the majority Pro-Life population of the country. So they created a TROJAN HORSE.

Page 30, Section 123 creates yet another bureaucratic entity called the Health Benefits Advisory Committee whose job it is to define the benefits standards that any plan, public or private must contain. This committee, chaired by the Surgeon General, is the VEHICLE being created by Obama and his cronies, to claim that abortion is NOT in the ObamaCare Bill, while enabling them to [gregjaye: stealthily and conveniently] insert it into the Plan once it is passed

This is exactly why (Soetoro alias) Obama, Pelosi, and Peter Orszag have deliberately dodged whether abortion would be covered under the bill.

On Fox News Mike Wallace asked Peter Orszag (Director of Management and Budget) whether he was prepared to say government taxpayer-funded health insurance plan that no taxpayer money would go to pay for abortions. Orszag’s reply, “Ahhh, I think that will wind up being part of the debate. I am not prepared to say ahhh explicitly right now,

Pelosi: That’s not, that’s not, that’s not the issue. The issue is people go out there to . . .we’ll be working on that issue . . .

(Soetoro aka) Obama: You know, what I think is important at this stage is not trying to micromanage what benefits are covered . . .

Now you know why Henry Waxman held an emergency session late in the night to strike down the amendment that would bar the commission from being included abortion in the benefits.

“But the TROJAN HORSE Commission isn’t the only section hiding the culture of death.

“Pages 769-777 contain a section (Section 1714) “State Eligibility Option for Family Planning Services.” We all know that “family planning is code for birth control and abortion. So when the bill refers to “family Planning services” in “family planning settings,” we all know that the author is talking about ABORTION INDUSTRIALISTS like Planned Parenthood!

“Now, given this blatant attempt to sneak ABORTION into the package, you can understand why Catholics are OUTRAGED by the support that Catholic Charities USA, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Catholic Health Association (CHA) are giving ObamaCare.

"In their action alerts these groups told members and supporters:

The House of Representatives introduced a health care reform bill yesterday afternoon members of Congress are debating this week. . . . Your members of Congress need to hear form you that you SUPPORT healthcare reform, and that the system needs to be reformed now.

"The Catholic Health (Hospitals, etc.) Association (CHA) even produced a video, which begins with a a clip of (Soetoro aka) Obama rallying Congress to support his healthcare plan, and the de Paul Society posted the video on its website.

“Why? Why would Catholic Charities do this? Well guess what, 5 days after endorsing ObamaCare, Catholic Charities USA, got its first ever federal contract worth $100 million dollars. In other words, JUDAS just got paid!"

COMMENT

I looked at all three Catholic organizations' websites, which ALL referred to in their video. I found evidence that on one side of their proverbial mouths they support current healthcare 'reform' and on the other they oppose any reform that includes abortion, conscience protection or senicide (euthanizing or premature killing of elderly). It is unclear where they really stand. It reminds me of the fuzzy positions of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) in terms of abortion and homosexuality under one of their former leaders Richard Cizak. TAKE ACTION

(1) Catholics need to call their Bishops and ask them to tell Catholic Charities, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, and Catholic Health Association (CHA) that they must NOT support or in any way support (Soetoro alias) Obama’s Death Care Bill . . . (see www.Canon915.org)

(2) Everyone should call their Congressman and demand that they vote to scrap HR 3200.

Does God Love a Prodigal?

The question at hand is, “Does God love the prodigal?” The prodigal is one who wastes or squanders all of his resources on his or her own selfish desires and then returns to his family seeking forgiveness.

THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

Do not be a prodigal. Observe this, Allah does not love the prodigal (Surah 6:141 or 142).

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him. And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

The three parables above, the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin and the Prodigal Son, are essentially saying the same thing. There is rejoicing at the end of each parable by God and the angles over finding what is lost. God is pleased when sinners, evil people, who repent and come to Him and find (eternal, spiritual) life.

God does not delight in the death of anyone. Instead He prefers that people repent of their sins and be saved. He is not willing that any should perish.

God’s provision for sin extends to all men and women. When Jesus received the sins of all mankind into His own body on the cross, no one was excluded. The Apostle John writes that Jesus is the propitiation, or payment, for sin but not only for our sins but also for the sins of the whole world. No one is excluded. Scripture says, “That He (Jesus) by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” No one is excluded. Jesus is the only mediator between God and men. This includes all men. Again; none is excluded.

People have a choice. It is written: He (Jesus) came unto His own and His own received Him not, but as many as received Him to them He gave the right or power to become the Children of God even to them that believe on His name (John 1:11,12). No one is excluded by God but some people choose to exclude themselves. God knew before creation who would exclude themselves and who would accept His gift of salvation. Those then that He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).

COMPARING & CONTRASTING THE KORAN WITH SCRIPTURE

The Koran states that Allah does not love the prodigal. The statement is clear.

The father in the Prodigal Son parable represents God the Father. Jesus is using this parable to explain God’s love for even the worst of sinners. God clearly loves the prodigal.

CONCLUSION

The Allah of the Koran is different than the God of the Holy Bible. The God of the Holy Bible is the one who offers everyone, including you eternal life through His only begotten Son.

If you want eternal life you must believe that Jesus is God in flesh, that He received the wrath of God for your sins in His death and crucifixion, and rose from the dead. You can repent of your sins right now and invite Jesus into your heart. A sample prayer that you can speak to God is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my sins and come into my heart.”

Questions to ask our [Doctors,] Senators and Representative about ObamaCare

This is the eighth in a series of questions about ObamaCare (i.e., Socialized Medicine, Universal Healthcare, Single-Payer Healthcare, Government-Run Healthcare, or Nationalized Healthcare that we conservative and Christian patriots should strongly consider asking our U.S. Representatives and U. S. Senators over the next month, while the Congress is taking its summer recess. If their unnecessary and freedom-robbing healthcare reform, which is being forged and forced on America by the current administration and the current Democrat-controlled Congress is to be stopped, it is through the voices of many Americans – We the People. It’s a priority TEA Party action item.

The questions were developed by Gary Bauer (American Values) and are intended to be used in interactions in our Senators and Representatives during the next 30 days. President Obama has already conceded that there probably won't be a vote on healthcare reform until "the end of September or the middle of October." That means we have August to attend town hall meetings with our representatives and senators, stop by their congressional offices, write letters to the editor and educate our friends and family members about the dangers of socialized medicine. Don Wildmon of the American Family Association (AFA) encourages his supporters to form groups as part of the process of engaging members of Congress.

8. LOSS OF FREEDOM. The healthcare reform legislation under consideration in the House will eventually force all Americans into a government-approved plan. After a five-year grace period, every new insurance policy will have to comply with government mandates, and any policy changes – "altering co-pays, deductibles, or even switching coverage for this or that drug" – invalidates your previous coverage and forces you to choose a government "qualified" plan. In addition, the House plan mandates coverage for every individual. If you are self-employed or choose not buy insurance for whatever reason, the bill imposes a "healthcare tax" of 2.5% of your income. 7. THE PEOPLE ARE BEING IGNORED. According to a recent poll, just 23% of voters believe healthcare reform legislation will lower costs, while 53% believe it will lead to more expensive care. By a margin of 50% to 23%, voters believe that "reform" legislation will make the quality of care decline. And while voters believe they will get worse care at higher costs, 78% also believe that healthcare reform will result in middle class tax hikes. In addition, a recent Fox News poll found that 91% of those surveyed have health insurance, 84% said that the quality of their health insurance was either excellent or good and 83% said the quality of health care they receive from their private insurance is either good or excellent. And only 12% of those surveyed said reforming health care was the most important issue Congress should be working on right now.
