The Good Sleeper Cells

This is a post about sleeper cells that do good. Unlike the Islamic terrorist  infiltrating America coming freely across our porous unsecured borders and our lax enforcement of visas and planting treacherous cells all over this nation. A hat tip goes to Townhall Magazine, February 2011. In the article titled, "Sleeper Cells" Daniel Allott, the author, discusses the absolute advantage of Adult Stem Cell Research, its practicality and its positive outcomes compared to the unethical use of Human Embryonic Stem Cells in research and experimentation. 


Although minimized in the mainstream media, Adult Stem Cells are producing positive, curative results. Unethical Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research (HESCR) on the other hand, is producing nothing except funds for scientists profiting from the destruction of their fellow human beings and HESCR is producing tumors!
Allott writes, "Adult stem cells are so successful because most diseases and ailments are a result of the loss of a specific type of cells. Parkinson's Disease, for instance, is a result of the loss of dopamine-roducing cells in the brain. Macular degeneration is caused by the loss of cells in the retina. Sickle cell disease is a result of the loss of red blood cells. And unlike embryonic stem cells, adult stem cell transfers have no risk of prompting tumor formation, or, if transferred from the patient or from a donor who is an immunological match, of being rejected by patients' immune systems."


Why is the Democratic Party and the Obama Administration so adamant about funding such an inferior ineffectual unethical research such as Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research? The same reason they favor abortion, same sex marriage, healthcare rationing, socialized medicine. They lack morality, they cannot differentiate right from wrong, good from evil.

Ohio Governor Kasich Emcees Budget Town Hall Meeting

Today was the day that Gov. John Kasich released his 2012/2013 budget. He held a Town Hall Meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. It lasted three hours. I watched it online at www.KasichForOhio.org. He had several of his administration key team members make presentations of their particular areas of responsibility. He then asked them questions in a very informal manner, sitting on a row of chairs on stage. You could tell he had experience in the TV industry, having had a regular weekend show on the Fox News channel.

Unlike America’s President, Gov. Kasich seemed to be well prepared to lead Ohio. He faced head on the challenge of an $8 billion dollar budget deficit. Our President continues to spend and continues to ignore the massive deficit and debt he helped to significantly increase. 

Much of the shortfall facing Ohio and other states was the fact that Washington, D.C. sent boatloads of stimulus bucks to prop up schools and government. This stimulus money was supposed to have been for infrastructure projects, but ended up being sent to support teacher unions and government workers.

Kasich presented a balanced budget. He and his team made difficult decisions. From what I could gather they trimmed quite a bit from revenue that was previously shared with local governments. The local government will now need to fix their own budget deficits caused by the absence of stimulus monies.

The Kasich team trimmed Medicaid dollars provided to hospitals and nursing homes. Instead they emphasized funding of home care and providing for choice of placement and servies. They are selling five state owned prisons to private firms. They slightly increased funding of education both K-12 and higher education.

In regard to education it was pointed out that Ohio ranks 47th in spending for students in the classroom, but ranks 7th in spending for administration among the states. This is something they want to change. They favor giving parents increased choice in where they send their children.

Overall, my impression is that this new governor means business. He has the knowledge, experience, and team to do the job. He will be fought all the way by various special interest groups who will want their piece of the pie restored. The teachers unions will fight him. The big city mayors will go after him. The ACLU and progressive lawyers will battle his privatizing of some of Ohio prisons. The health care provider associations will fight him on his reduction and redistribution of Medicaid funding.

Ohio is better off because Kasich is governor, then another six years of the liberal stimulus driven spendthrift Democrat Governor Ted Strickland. Now if we could just survive the current regime in Washington until the 2012 Fall Election ...

Jim DeMint Takes the Lead

I agree with Sen. DeMint. I disagree with the Tea Party Patriot organization and other in the Tea Party Movement that we focus exclusively on fiscal matters, as important as those are. Their emphasis and focus is strictly on fiscal issues and they shun social issues. I think they do a good work up to a point. However, they are missing a key ingredient of Conservatism, the social issues. This is what separates conservatives from libertarians or liberals.


In a February 2011 CitizenLink.com article, "Cost of Discipleship," DeMint is quoted as saying, “I think, increasingly, while some are calling for a separation of the social and fiscal issues, more and more people realize that [many] of our fiscal problems in this country are related to the breakdown of families, unwed births, as well as other problems, such as school dropout, drug use, juvenile delinquency,” he said. “You cannot really ignore it if you are a fiscal conservative. We need to recognize that good social policy is really important to the fabric of our country.”


We currently have a wicked social policy. We have big government who wants be God. DeMint is further quoted, “American believers know that their rights come from God, and they sense that our government is trying to displace God as the rights giver.  People are not coming to ask the government to become more religious — or even to promote morality — but to stop promoting immorality and to stop purging faith from the private sector.”


It behooves Americans to listen to a true statesman, a true leader, Senator DeMint. What a contrast he is to the person who currently occupies the White House!

The Obama Doctrine: Cower Power

here was a good article today in the online Wall Street Journal (WSJ) today titled, “The Obama Doctrine,” which dealt with the President’s handling of the situation in Libya.  The article began with a quote by Ben Rhodes, White House Security Council spoken, who was quoted in the Washington Post on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Rhodes said,  ‘This is the Obama conception of the U.S. role in the world—to work through multilateral organizations and bilateral relationships to make sure that the steps we are taking are amplified.”

The current occupier of the White House has chosen to be a follower rather than a leader, both in this country and abroad. His "leadership" is demonstrating to the rest of the world an America weak, indecisive and unwilling to stand for freedom or to stand against evil. Too bad, the only place he is leading America is destination destruction. 


The author of the WSJ piece comments, “When the U.S. fails to lead, the world reverts to its default mode as a diplomatic Tower of Babel.” That is the gist of the problem. As the only world superpower fades to mediocrity and to oblivion, the President is under the delusion that if he plays nice with the enemy, including Muslim extremists, that these barbarians will come around. Like much of the Leftists’ other fantasies, that is just what President Obama’s foreign policy is, fantasy.

The only consistent thing about Dear Leader is that he does not lead. He shows no leadership at home with the massive budget deficit and debt he helped to build up the last two years and in foreign affairs in dealing with Libya. In regard to Libya his response has been to wait for the rest of the world to act. Meanwhile, those rebelling against a terrorist dictator are left to fend for themselves. He sits back and watches things happen. His lack of executive experience and his immaturity is being exposed with each passing day.

Time to Defend True Marriage

I recently signed CitizenLink's "Defend DOMA" petition to urge Congress to step forward to legally defend DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act that defines in federal law marriage as the union of a man and a woman and protects states from being forced to recognize other state's same-sex marriages.

President Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama and his lawbreaking Department of Justice announced they will no longer defend the law against current legal challenges because they believe the traditional definition of marriage is unconstitutional.

Yes, this "rules change" making the U.S. Treasury (i.e. the U.S. taxpayer) liable for the losses of the Federal Reserve was put in effect with only the approval of Ben B. and Tim G., not by an act of Congress.  It seems not to matter any more whether or not we audit the Fed.  The IMF will do to us what they did Greece and Ireland.  Is this the end of America as we have known it?

Amazingly, the first and preeminent right enumerated in the Declaration of Independence is LIFE. In 1973, 38 years ago, this right to life was willfully and wrongly “revoked” by the government, the so-called Supreme Court. The liberty, the freedom of the unborn, the most vulnerable in society was stolen. All of our remaining rights stem from that most vital right of all. ObamaCare is not healthcare reform, it is healthcare control! It is a symptom of what the author above says is its unquenchable thirst for more power.

One by one big government is stripping us from our freedoms in the name of equal outcomes for all. This is socialist utopian fantasy. Government does not determine our rights, God does. The Left is at war with God. Under “Dear Leader” Chairman Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama we are becoming more and more like the Soviet Union each passing day.

Budget Deficit Made With Red Chinese Ink!


Furthermore, our government is in need of extensive bariatric surgery. Now it waddles badly, barely able to hold itself up. The Chinese are enabling its feeding and its spending frenzy. It needs to be knocked down to size several notches. We need to stop feeding this bloated monster. The past 4+ years it has acted like a bloodsucking leech that has attached itself to American taxpayers and it won’t let go.  

Essentially, the government has far too much power. It is doing and meddling in affairs it has no business getting into such as healthcare or education.

We need to put our federal and state governments on a strict diet. We need major spending cuts. Not the namby pamby nicks that the President or even the House have proposed. We need to get serious. I for one am for shutting down the government until we can get serious about fiscal responsibility.

There are two examples of government expenditures that can be trimmed right off hand that would save us a bundle of money. One is the complete elimination of the nearly worthless, even destructive U.S. Department of Education. The other is the equally useless Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Yes, ket’s get serious and put the government on a starvation diet, a real budget balancing diet, and sooner rather than later! Let’s start now in the current Continuing Resolution for 2011.

Draw a line in the sand. Say “No” to the raising the debt ceiling. Since the President has audaciously sent a budget containing a $1 ½ trillion deficit, let’s adopt a new slogan. “Trim a trillion here and there, until we are debt-free.”

Islam is much more than a religion


Fellow blogger, gregjaye, sent me a 2/26/2010 online Jefferson City (Missouri) News Tribune article, “Tea Party speaker: Islam more than a religion.” We both had listened in-person to a presentation given in another venue by Mr. Federer, an author and historian. The above article summarizes several points made by Mr. Federer and some counter arguments made by a local Moslem, Iqbal Hussain. I add my two cents. Here are some direct quotes from the article above with my remarks in italics. [Der Keiser is an affectionate expression given to me previously by my internet “friends.”]


WHAT IS ISLAM EXACTLY?


• FEDERER: Islam is more than a religion; it is also a political and military system

HUSSAIN: “Yes, Islam is a way of life. It gives you rules to live your life, has rights of people and rights of God. There is no military system, as in any system of government.”

{SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: It all depends on how you define religion. Islam engages in a tribal type warfare seeking world dominance. There is only one god and Jesus is not divine. To believe that Jesus is divine is worse than committing murder and worthy of having one’s head removed from one’s body. To enforce this belief and to stamp out the belief that Jesus is divine, Moslems go to war against their neighbors. This is one of the rules Moslems are to live by. Another is that they are to give twenty percent of their loot taken by war to their leader.

The one god of Islam is the god “Sin” which is the moon god. You may notice that the symbol of the religion is the crescent moon with a star. The star, I think, represents the meteorite kept at Mecca, Saudi Arabia on display. You could say that Islam is a lunatic religion: moon-struck. It is really idolatry claiming to be the true religion and monotheistic.


ISLAM IS INHERENTLY VIOLENT


FEDERER: To be the best Muslim means following Mohammed’s footsteps of violence and forced conversion.

HUSSAIN: “There is no forced conversion. It is mentioned that there is no compulsion. The obedience has to be of free will.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: A person, city, or nation is essentially told by the Muslims. “Convert to Islam, or else!” If they do not then they are put to death. Iqbal Hussain is a bold face liar. Islam is at war with the United States of America not with only radical Islamists. To kill non-Muslims is to Islam, what Jesus Christ is to Christianity, it is central to their doctrine or belief system.]


ISLAM IS A LIE


FEDERER: It’s OK to lie to advance Islam.

HUSSAIN: “Absolutely no. The only time it is permitted is when someone is going to kill you, if you did not follow their orders.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: All of Islam is a lie. The Koran is a book of deceit.]


ISLAMICS ARE TREATY-BREAKERS


FEDERER: In history, Islam made treaties until they were strong enough to ignore them — example, Mohammed emigrated to Medina for refuge and five years later had run off, killed or enslaved all the Jews there.

HUSSAIN: “The treaties cannot be broken until there is proved violation by the other party and with proper warnings.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: If one wants to break a treaty a violation can always be manufactured.]


ISLAM DEMANDS OBEDIENCE OVER MORALITY


FEDERER: Muslims act out of obedience, not out of conscience like Christians — so they may not hate or want to kill infidels, but will if they are ordered.

HUSSAIN: “Obedience is to God only and God does not want anyone to kill one of his creations. Everyone is from Adam and creation of God.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: The god of Islam is not the God of the Holy Bible even though the Koran claims that it is. If the god of Islam were the God of the Holy Bible, then the Muslims would not be murdering Christians and Jews because they believe in the God of the Bible. Instead they would consider the Christians and Jews thier brothers and worship the God of the Holy Bible in spirit and truth. And they wouldn't have murdered the Christian official in Pakistan, which they did recently. The god of the Koran is a murderer and wants his subjects to murder]


ISLAM & SHARIA LAW


FEDERER: The American Bar Association supports Sharia Law, overriding the U.S. Constitution.

HUSSAIN: “Only in the religious matters (right to worship and at what time), not in civil or criminal law.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: The American Bar Association is anti-Christian and knows that adopting Sharia Law will work to destroy Christianity. In Islam “religious liberty” is the destruction of Christians. Whoever wants Sharia Law is in league with the terrorists and should be removed from the country.]


ISLAM'S GOAL IS IDEOLOGY


FEDERER: Unlike conflict based on geography during man’s 6,000 years on the earth, the goal of Islam is ideology, to change how people think and live.

HUSSAIN: “No. Everyone has to think for themselves.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: The people of Islam fight and murder to make those who believe otherwise accept Islam or be killed. It is going on right now worldwide in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in Saudi Arabia, in Egypt, etc. People are prevented from learning anything else. Truth is denied to the people by obedience to the Koran by those in charge. The Bible is banned in many Moslem nations. People are not allowed to think other than what the religious leaders say.]


ISLAM DENIES FREEDOM OF RELIGION


FEDERER: There is no freedom of religion in current Islamic nations.

HUSSAIN: “So-called Islamic states are not Islamic but kingships or dictatorships. They make rules to keep their power, not to help Islam. They may use Islam for their cause, where it suits them. People are supposed to choose the best amongst them to be the rulers.”

[SAM’S (Der KEISER) Comments: The Koran does not provide for any freedom of religion. Only those Islamic leaders that do not follow the Koran closely are the ones that offer any freedom of religion in a nation. Islam fosters or causes dictatorships by the authoritative nature of this false religion.

Islam teaches that Jesus is not divine that He did not die on the cross and that He was never crucified. According to the false teaching of the Koran, Jesus was taken to heaven by god without ever dying. Whoever believes this cannot be saved from the wrath of the one true God and will, therefore, go to hell upon his or her death.

In reality, however, a Muslim can believe that Jesus is God, the Son of God, and that He died on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead. After forty days He ascended into heaven. Upon believing this a Muslim can repent of their sins by confessing to God of being a sinner, and asking God for forgiveness of his sins. He can also invite Jesus into his heart. He will then be saved and go to heaven upon death or the rapture. However, the person will no longer be a Muslim but a Christian.

In addition, in many Muslim nations today the man or woman who converts from Islam may very well lose their head over that decision. So much for the tolerant “religion of peace” in an atmosphere of “religious freedom,” the key word is persecution of converts, infidels, or non believers!]

Waiting for Superman (2010)





Surprisingly, filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, who also directed the grossly deceptive and objectionable Gore-eee film, Inconvenient Truth, turns around and creates a somewhat honest picture of education in the U.S. today. The picture of education in America ain’t at all pretty. In fact, it is very disturbing.

Despite billions of dollars being thrown at the bureaucracy supposedly trying to improve education, it is merely further destroying the system. When any real reformers attempt to change the system they are met with roadblocks. These roadblocks include those put up by the teacher unions, namely and mainly the National Education Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The movie clearly shows the true nature of the unions when the new Superintendent of a major school system tried to implement change.

Contrary to their flowing rhetoric, the selfish, corrupt labor unions react negatively at every turn to reforms, especially anything that threatened the almighty unions’ privileged position and curbing its power. In the end they care little or nothing about the students, only in perpetuating their evil political power and agenda.

Waiting for Superman is a documentary. It follows the lives of a half of a dozen students, who are trapped in poor performing neighborhood government schools. The movie points out that there are many substandard schools both in urban and suburban areas. For 40+ years public education has drastically decline compared to the rest of the industrialized, developed world. We once led the world with first-class education. Now we are second-rate also-rans.  We are failing miserably in math and science. It has caused us to import such professions as engineers.

There are a few schools that are doing the job. There are woefully few, however, good schools exist to give every student in need a place to excel. The movie does a good job in making a case for giving parents a choice in where to send their children. It showed several parents who care about the education of their children.

Also the movie accurately describes the role the teacher plays in the schools. The excellent teachers do not get the recognition, while poor performing teachers are coddled and protected by their unions. Both kinds of teacher provide motivation, one for good, one for not so good.

Public Education is an abject failure. The bright spots are the alternatives to public education, such as private schools and charter schools. Although, not mentioned, probably for political (PC and ideological bias of the movie maker) reasons, is the whole home school movement. A growing percentage of students are now being taught at home in lieu of the sad state of affairs of the government/union run schools.

What happened? It is not a lack of money. Much is even wasted on massive bureaucracy – i.e. the Federal and State Departments of Education and layers upon layers of other local bureaucrats. They siphon resources intended for real student instruction in the classroom. The bottom line, the excessive bureaucrats hinder rather than help the learning process. We must return to local control of our schools. Here is another area where the federal government has screwed things up. Now they want to “fix” healthcare and the finance industry? Yeah, right!

Lacking in the film is one important reason for the change, the fall. It was when the elites and their leftist anarchists decided that God needed to be purged from our public education system. That is literally when all hell broke loose. This was a big part of the story left out of the movie.

What is the conclusion of the movie? We don’t need a superman, we need serious reformation. I agree, we need reformation, but we need to instill morality, character, and values back into the schools. What we have now is an atheistic, propaganda generator with little real education going on.

RATING

I would rate the movie a *** ½ out of *****. It was a good attempt at capturing the state of education in America, at least some aspects of the problem. This is a big subject. Waiting for Superman provoked some thought and discussion. 

Rent the movie and get a very troubling, sober view of our overall system. You get just a hint of what is needed to repair this tragically broken system. Despite its shortcomings, the movie does identify some of the basic problem that exist in our education system. It also hints at the solutions. It’s a starting point.

ObamaCare is a ticking time bomb

ObamaCare is not about health care. It is about controlling health care. It has everything to do with central planning. It is about a socialized, government-run and controlled health  care system. It needs to be repealed, or at least defunded. Otherwise, it will lead to higher deficits and overall debt. Furthermore, implementing ObamaCare will lead to a drop in the overall quality of care, a reduction of the health care options available to Americans, and it will create death panels. We need to look past the rhetoric and the lies of the Administration and the Democrats in Congress.

The Conservatives in Congress need to do all they can to stop ObamaCare at the very least by cutting off its lifeblood, funding. The Continuing Resolution passed by the House was a good start, however, they need to stand strong in the looming fights ahead. It would be worth shutting down government for as long as it takes in order to insure the current spending cuts, including and especially Obama-care related cuts, take place for fiscal year 2011!
