Senate Plans to Abdicate its Confirmation Duties 

The Obama Czars will trump the constitution.

In recent years, the job of United States Senator has evidently been added to the list of ‘jobs that Americans won’t do.’  Harry Reid’s Senate has categorically shirked its core constitutional responsibility by refusing to pass a budget for over two years.  Concurrently, the Senate has been preoccupied with feckless, unconstitutional legislation that fails to deal with any of the paramount public policy problems facing the nation.

Today, Chuck Schumer, with the help of Mitch McConnell and Lamar Alexander, plans to vitiate one of the Senate’s few remaining constitutional duties; advising and consenting to presidential appointees.  The Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act (S.679), which was never reported out of a committee, would eliminate the confirmation requirement for 200 presidential appointees.  This bill would completely abrogate the safeguards against tyranny that were established in the “Appointments Clause” of the constitution.  [The Heritage Foundation has a useful primer on the bill.]

The bill has seven Republican co-sponsors:  Lamar Alexander, Scott Brown, Susan Collins, Mike Johanns, Jon Kyl, Richard Lugar, and Mitch McConnell.

One would think that without the inconvenient burden of dealing with the budget process, the Senate would have plenty of time to execute its ‘advise and consent’ duties.  They are claiming that the confirmation process is too cumbersome and time-consuming, and as such, is precluding other more important legislation.  The reality is just the opposite.  Their abdication of their core responsibilities has left them with nothing other than executive confirmations on their plate.  Senator Marco Rubio succinctly observes the priorities of the Senate in a piece for the Daily Caller today:

Meanwhile, in the five months I have been in the Senate, Democratic leaders have focused on a reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration, a patent bill, a bill to increase spending on the Small Business Administration and a plan to increase spending on the Economic Development Administration, a relic of the Great Society that funnels debt-financed cash to states and localities (never mind that the president’s own Fiscal Commission recommended eliminating it entirely).

The Senate has taken just 91 roll call votes, many on non-controversial nominations, and a third of our time has been spent in “quorum calls,” literally doing nothing. No one should be under any illusion about the desire of leaders in the Senate to confront our sagging economy and looming debt crisis.

Now, they have the moxie to complain that the confirmation process is distracting them from more important legislation!

Undoubtedly, there is a need to expedite the presidential appointee process.  However, ceding more power to an administration that is overzealous to impose policy by administrative fiat, is not the way to go.  Congress has slowly abjured its power to the executive branch by writing open-ended legislation, granting federal agencies wide latitude to promulgate destruction over our economy.  Obama has already used radical executive appointees for the purpose of consolidating power in the executive branch.  Why would any Republican sign on to such a dangerous expansion of executive power?  Whom do they think Obama will appoint to these positions if there is no oversight?

Here’s a novel idea for streamlining the confirmation process of presidential appointees: shrink the size of government so there will be no need for most of these jobs.  It’s high time for Congress to halt its self-immolation, and reign in the executive department behemoth.

The Senate is scheduled to hold the first cloture vote on S.679 later this evening or on Wednesday, following the expected failure on passage of the inane Economic Development Revitalization Act.  Call your senators and ask them if they plan to outsource their jobs to Obama.  Tell them to keep the presidential appointment process in the hands of the elected branch of government and vote no on S.679.

Bob Mecklenborg recently made an appearance on the PBS program "Need to Know".  This was very interesting to me for several reasons.

Mr. Mecklenborg is my state representative.  I don't know what his true motivations are on this or any other issue.  I agree with him on most issues, but I think that he is mostly just another slick politician.  He is definitely someone who is biased toward the Republican party.  I have heard him say that the redistricting should be done in the way that most favors Republicans.  He has criticized the Tea Party for demanding the cutting of state spending, saying that there is nothing left to cut, but he himself voted for the wasteful Ohio Third Frontier Project.  Among other things, OTFP contained $2 million in appropriations to design hospital gowns and food trays.

But I don't trust PBS any further than I could throw them either.  As I was viewing this video on the PBS website, I noticed on the same webpage an advertisement which said, "Support provided by Goldman Sachs".  That should be proof enough for anyone to say the probability that what they are saying is a lie is at least equal to the probability that it is the truth.

As for the issues discussed in the program, I think I agree with PBS on the first bill that they discussed.  There are a lot of people who would be disfranchised if they were required to show photo ID.  Having such an ID shouldn't be requirement if you have some other proof (such as a birth certificate).  We didn't used to have to have any proof.  Its funny, though,  that PBS can't see that illegal immigrants vote illegally.

But on the second issue, I definitely agree with Mecklenborg.  In fact, his bill doesn't go nearly far enough.  There should be no early voting at all except for absentee (mail-in) voting.   And the only ones who should be allowed to vote absentee are military voters and others who have a really good reason (like being home-bound).  That is the way it used to be.  And of course, PBS is so blind that they refuse to acknowledge the incident in which the Democrats gave high school voters ice cream cones to entice them to "get on the bus" going downtown to the polling place.  No vote fraud?  Yeah, right.  This was an early voting day incident which would have been more difficult to pull off if all voting had to be done on election day.  They were registering voters and they were voting on the same day!  Not cool.

But I think the majority of the fraud is not due to any of the issues addressed in this program.  Neither PBS nor Mr. Mecklenborg want you to know about Diebold.  If you really want to preserve the integrity of the electoral process, demand that your state get rid of all electronic voting machines.  The only truly transparent system is one where the ballots are paper, marked by hand, placed in a clear plastic receptacle, and publicly counted by hand.  Mr. Mecklenborg mentioned that one his purposes was for public perception to be that the process is fair.  About that he is right and there is no more important battle in this effort than to get rid "black box" vote counting!

Trick or Tweet

You can tell a lot about a person (or organization) about the friends they keep and the tweets they send. Just look at former representative Anthony Weiner, then maybe we shouldn’t look. Here is rather infamous baby-killing organization, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and their twitter marketing activity that caught the eye of the Family Research Council, which reported the following:

If Planned Parenthood were really suffering financially, do you think the organization could afford to spend $100,000 on tweets? Jill Stanek did some digging and found out that America's biggest abortion group is so desperate that it's paying people to follow them on Twitter. As a new form of advertising, the social media execs are offering "promoted tweets," where companies can pay to have their messages listed with users. Back in September, the Wall Street Journal reported Twitter was selling the 140-character messages for $100,000 each. Planned Parenthood has paid for two. Obviously, the abortion giant is more interested in keeping their government dollars than providing services to women. Instead of using that money to keep their clinics open in Minnesota and Indiana and provide those so-called "vital services for women," the group is spamming people on Twitter. So the next time Planned Parenthood cries poor, Congress should tell them to tweet it to someone who cares.



NBC-TV: Take this Pledge and Edit It

Hat tip goes to the Family Research Council (FRC) a Christian advocacy group which sponsored a effort to contract and to ostracize NBC-TV for their blatant bias against God and America’s Christian foundations. This was a shameful censor of the Pledge of Allegiance that occurred in their introduction to this past weekend’s coverage of the U.S. Open Golf Tournament held in Wasting-a-ton, D.C. Here are some comments by FRC President Tony Perkins regarding this affort against God:

There may be more outrage over NBC's Pledge video, but there don't seem to be more answers. Yesterday, a local television reporter tried calling the network for an interview about the missing "under God, indivisible." After a few attempts, he was referred to the "Contact NBC" email address. When he finally did reach the Vice President for Communications at NBC Sports, Chris McCloskey, he was referred to the network's statement. "Unfortunately, when producing the piece--which was intended to capitalize on the patriotism of having our national championship played in our nation's capital--a decision was made by a small group of people to edit portions of the Pledge of Allegiance."

The reporter pressed for more answers about this "small group" but got nowhere. And apart from the weak apology offered by NBC during the U.S. Open, no corrective action has been taken. Perhaps NBC should be forced to sit through its own sensitivity training and learn to respect the hundreds of years of patriotic tradition that Americans sacrificed their lives for. At the very least, we should call for the network to feature the Pledge--the whole Pledge--in the programming leading up to July 4. Join us by contacting NBC. Dear NBC Official,


During last weekend's coverage of the U.S. Open, your NBC Sports network aired a special Pledge of Allegiance video in which the words "under God, indivisible" were removed. I am deeply offended that NBC would censor the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag that so many Americans have died to defend. A mere "apology" is not enough.


As you know, the airwaves belong to the public and NBC is granted permission to use those airwaves. Removing "under God" from one of the most widely viewed sports programs is a misuse of the public trust that you've been granted. You have continued to downplay the incident, refusing to take any corrective actions. This is unacceptable.


Please show that you support the Pledge of Allegiance by airing a daily public service announcement with the entire Pledge of Allegiance (only 31 words!). This will authenticate your apology and help ensure that neither NBC nor any other network will censor the Pledge of Allegiance again.

Did NBC commit a blatant act of religious bigotry? Absolutely, on two separate occasions during the so-called “patriotic” introduction to their U.S. Open golf tournament coverage, they left out the words, “Under God” and “Indivisible” from the Pledge of Allegiance. This is a brazen slap in the face of American Christians and America in general.

It is not enough for NBC, along with the other broadcast and most cable networks to shill for the Democratic Party and for President Obama, but it seems they also are shilling for Satan, the adversary of Christians here on earth, too, by banning and by rejecting God. This YouTube video produced by the American Family Association (AFA.net) is yet another proof of the deliberate anti-God, anti-American bias and behavior of the lamestream media. It must be concluded that they are a destructive force in our culture today.

I watched much of the online streaming of the Right Online Conference held in Minneapolis, Minnesota this past Friday and Saturday. I was appreciative of Representative and Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s uplifting speech at the conference. I did not see the incident captured in the video below until later. The video documented a same-sex activist’s attempt to sprinkle Congresswoman Bachmann with glitter as she exited the stage after her inspiring speech. Apparently the liberal infiltrator did not hear or comprehend the message and was present for the sole purpose of demonstrating her intolerance.

The Tactics of the ACLU Should Not Be Our Tactics

Last week, when I was circulating the Ohio Healthcare Freedom Amendment petition at popular spot for that sort of activity.  It is a place with a public sidewalk and a lot businesses but not much parking, so it gets a lot of pedestrian traffic.   Then I saw two young girls with ACLU shirts on and they had clipboards like mine, so I asked them what petition they were circulating.  They said that they weren't circulating a petition, but were fundraising for the ACLU.  But I asked them if they would sign my petition.  After explaining what the amendment was, one of the girls said that she didn't know whether or not she should sign it because she didn't know if "they" would want her to.  I wondered who "they" were.  The girl, who couldn't sign because she was not an Ohio resident told her that she could sign it if she wanted to.  I guess whenever someone from the ACLU (especially women from the ACLU) hear the word "healthcare", they think it means abortion.  (But it could just be that she actually agreed with the content of the OHCFA--I don't know.)  As this girl was signing the petition, she told me that sometimes she had signed petitions before, but put a false address on it on purpose because she didn't really believe in what the petition was for and wanted the petitioner to stop bothering her.  She also implied that she did this to thwart the efforts of the circulators.  Nice.  But she told me not worry, she was not going to that to me.  I'm not very confident that she was telling the truth, but it doesn't really matter because if it is a false signature, they will just throw it out and no harm will be done.  But what an idiot!  All this goes to show the mentality of these people.  I was anticipating a confrontation and/our dialogue about the mission of the ACLU, but the two girls didn't stick around long enough for that.

A lot of people in the liberty/patriot movement have become members of the ACLU.  I actually agree with them on some issues, like their opposition to airport security screenings and the Patriot Act.  (Even a broken clock is right twice a day.)  But everyone should know that the ACLU has fought to:

1. By federal judicial fiat, make it illegal to even have a voluntary moment of silence in a public school, even when there is no mention God, Jesus, or anything about religion.
2. By federal judicial fiat, make it illegal for high school biology textbooks to have a sticker in its front insider cover which simply says that there are alternative theories of the origins of man and other species to the theory of general evolution.  Again, there was no mention of God, Jesus, creationism, or even of Intelligent Design.
3.  Take away the right of the states to have laws against abortion.
4.  By federal judicial fiat, take away the right of the states to impose term limits on its U.S. Representative and Senators.
5.  Take away the right of parents to know what their children are being exposed in the public schools
6.  By federal judicial fiat, abolish all laws against any form of pornography, even child pornography.

I must say, though, I had previously circulated the petition for the OHCFA at a local BMV because someone told me that I could.  (I learned later that the Ohio Project itself is telling people to do this.)  But as I later realized, this is really an illegal practice* and it should be stopped immediately.  There are a host reasons why this is a bad idea.  This can be used as propaganda against us and it makes us look no better than those Democrats who broke the law by offering teenagers ice cream if they would take a bus downtown to vote.  Even though you may get permission from some BMV employee, that doesn't change the fact that it is illegal.  The employees at the BMV could get in trouble for it.  The front window clearly says "no solicitation". And its just plain wrong to break the law.  We should all want this victory to be completely above board.  Let's not be like the ACLU and their "win at all costs" mentality.

*But note that at most BMV locations (that I have seen) there are adjacent businesses.  If you were to get permission from such a business you could circulate the petition on their property as long as you don't go cross over into the part which belongs to the BMV.  And maybe there are some BMVs where the sidewalk in front of it is public (but I don't know of any) and so in that case it might also be OK.  

Ron Paul at the Faith and Freedom Conference

I agree with everything that Ron Paul said in this speech, except possibly the part about government not being able to do anything unless you can do it. (What about the exacting justice on criminals?)

But more importantly, I am still waiting for him to renounce his cosponsorship of the Community AIDS and Hepatitis Prevention Act.  This bill (which did not pass) would have allowing federal tax dollars to be spent on syringes for drug addicts.  He cosponsored this bill in the 110th and 111th Congress (2007 and 2009).  If he will renounce it, then I will support his candidacy (albeit somewhat reluctantly).  It is unacceptable for me to support a candidate who supports a bill which encourages sinful behavior.  (The bill has not been introduced into the 112th Congress yet and probably won't be, though its sponsor is still a member of the House of Representatives.)

Assessment of Announced Candidates for President as of 6/14/2011

You can read my previous article here. I watched the New Hampshire CNN 2012 GOP Presidential Debate last night. This article is a result of watching that debate and my reflection on the candidacy of the people who have announced their intent to run for the office of President in 2012. All of the announced candidates with the exception of former Governor Gary Johnson participated in the New Hampshire debate.

All of the announced candidates in the race for President are listed below. They are listed in my preferred order of their ability and preparation for service in this important office. There is a reason why I list the incumbent last. If the election were held today I would vote for the candidate at the top of the list below. Since the last debate Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney along with Michele Bachman joined the increasingly congested field.


PRESIDENTIAL POSSIBILITIES

Michele Bachmann is by far the best candidate in the field of announced candidates. She did a great job in the New Hampshire debate. She is my top choice. She is a Tea Party Movement favorite. She has the right blend of fiscal and social conservative stands. She is courageous and willing to take a stand for what is right. She rates an A as a presidential candidate.

Former Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Rick Santorum is a solid social conservative. Something, maybe its inspirational leadership, is missing in his candidacy. He is a C+ candidate.

Congressman Ron Paul is strong on fiscal conservative issues; he wants to get control of the Federal Reserve which is a good thing. He questions our entanglements overseas. He seems to be weak on some of the social issues. I would rate him a C+ candidate for President.

After listening to his 30 minute announcement speech which he made in Atlanta several weeks ago now, I was an enthusiastic supporter of Herman Cain. He was initially at the top of my list of preferred announced candidates. This is one of the reasons I thought he was the best candidate in the current crop at the time, listen to his words from announcement speech he made that he was running for President, "Is America ready for a real leader, or (does she want to stay with) a (Teleprompter) reader?" This guy is a social as well as a fiscal conservative. I took what fellow blogger noted about Mr. Cain. Based on this new information and based on his performance during last night debate compared to the one in May, I would now rate him a C as Presidential material.


THE FAILED CANDIDATES

Tim Pawlenty, has supported cap and trade and TARP. Like Rick Santorum he is not very inspirational. I may need to do a little more research on this candidate. At this time, I rate him no better than a D.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has some good ideas, but he also has some very bad ideas. He turned me off forever when he joined with Nancy Pelosi in support of Global Warming. Recently his poo pooing of Representative Paul Ryan’s plan to fix Medicare reinforced my objection to Gingrich. This is inexcusable for a Conservative. He is too inconsistent for me. I would rate him a D- candidate as Presidential material.

I don't know too much about this former Governor, Gary Johnson. His performance in the first GOP debate in South Carolina a few weeks ago showed that he was much too libertarian for me. He was very weak on the key social issues. I would rate him an F candidate as Presidential material. He did not help his cause by avoiding the New Hampshire debate.

The mainstream media’s preferred GOP candidate and supposed “front runner” is the wheeling-dealing RINO Willard Mitt Romney. He might be a good manager or administrator, at best. But he lacks consistency in conservative principles. He is a reeling RINO at worst. Like our current President and immediate past president he would say and do anything to get elected. He is conservative to the same degree that Congressman Anthony Weiner controls his sexual appitite. I rate him F as a candidate for President and that is being generous!

I already know too much about this candidate, the current occupier of the White House. Prior to his election in 2008 Barack Obama was the least qualified, most inexperienced, and least prepared. He has proven over the past 2 1/2 years to be even more inept and inappropriate for this nation's highest office than when he was elected. He remains the least qualified and most inexperienced candidate. He is literally a vehicle being used by George Soros and the Left to destroy this nation. He must be defeated. I look at him as serving Jimmy Carter's second term in office; therefore, he must be term-limited! Since there is no rating lower than an F, he is un-rate-able as a candidate to continue as President.

If Americans are “bumps in the road,” then …

God brings calamity on the nations that sin. As Scripture notes in Psalm 9:17, “The wicked will be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God.”

In Ezekiel 14:12-23 we read, “The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
“If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts: Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it: Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.

Leviticus 18:27, 28, “(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spews not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you.

Do you think God could destroy the United States because of our sin? What is keeping God from judging or destroying America for its great sins such as our practice of nearly unlimited abortions, our condoning of homosexuality, and our rampant immortality?

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and DCCC chair Steve Israel have told Rep. Anthony Weiner he should resign.


Pelosi released the following statement Saturday:

“Congressman Weiner has the love of his family, the confidence of his constituents, and the recognition that he needs help. I urge Congressman Weiner to seek that help without the pressures of being a member of Congress.”

Wasserman Schultz released the following statement:

"It is with great disappointment that I call on Representative Anthony Weiner to resign. The behavior he has exhibited is indefensible and Representative Weiner's continued service in Congress is untenable."

“This sordid affair has become an unacceptable distraction for Representative Weiner, his family, his constituents and the House – and for the good of all, he should step aside and address those things that should be most important – his and his family's well-being."

Israel issued this statement:

“Anthony’s inappropriate behavior has become an insurmountable distraction to the House and our work for the American people. With a heavy heart, I call on Anthony to resign.”

It is Day 15 of the Weinergate controversy and three key Democrat leaders only now agree to call on irrepressible and sex-crazed ultra-liberal Anthony Weiner to resign. Why hasn’t the man resigned yet? I heard one caller on a talk radio show recently say that if someone did in public did what Weiner did online that they would be arrested for indecent exposure. What is the difference? His behavior is significantly worse because of his position of trust, public service and standards of basic decency expected from a member of congress.

Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) finally admitted that he sent lewd photos of himself on Twitter and was unfaithful to his wife.  But he is not going to resign!  Samuel Adams said:

Weiner is a hypocrite.  After all the sermonizing about how tax cuts would benefit the rich and the complaints about the Republicans' maneuvering to block the (unconstitutional) bill to support the first responders of the September 11th attacks.  And that garbage he spouted about how Obamacare would actually save money.  Here is the hypocrisy that he still has on his official house webpage:

The Kids' Act is unconstitutional for many different reasons.  It is an ex-post facto law (it adds additional punishments for sex offenders after they have already been sentenced). And it is obviously a violation of the 10th Amendment because no powers related to the punishment of sex offenders have been delegated to the Congress by the Constitution.  (This power is reserved to the states.)  But I wonder, is anyone is going to try to prosecute this socialist using his own law?

It is Day 12 of the Weinergate controversy. He still contends that he will not resign. Here are ten reasons why he should resign now, his actions explicitly demonstrated the following.

• Placed in situation where he could be blackmailed by America’s enemies

His profuse apology-laced “confession” at the beginning of the week was pathetic. He should have announced his resignation at that time if he had even an ounce of decency. Instead, he acknowledged his "mistake" and vowed (for what that is worth) to make it up to his wife. Today he continued to apologize to his fellow Congressional members. Is there no accountability for our elected representatives any more?


Why is it that a married Republican Congressman from the same state as Representative Weiner, New York, resigns immediately after a picture of a bare chested Chris Lee is revealed? However, increasingly ugly revelations involving a string of young women from coast to coast does not illicit a resignation or even a call from his party for him to resign? Is the Democratic Party equally without standards? I think that it is the Democratic Party that fosters a culture of corruption and Weiner is a prime example.

God put hatred between the serpent and the woman and between her children and the children of the serpent, who represents the Devil.

Genesis 3:15-19 says, “I will put enmity between thee (Satan as represented by the serpent) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

There are children of the Devil and also children of God. We read of this in Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43.

Matthew 13:24-30 explains, “Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”

In Matthew 13:36-43 we read, “Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

The term “world” is the system set up by Satan and includes the children of the Devil. Those who follow Jesus are taken out of the world. Jesus prays for them but He does not pray for the world. We see this in the prayer of Jesus in John 17.

John 17:6, 9 records, “I have manifested Thy name unto the men which Thou gavest me out of the world: Thine they were, and Thou gavest them Me; and they have kept Thy word. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which Thou hast given Me; for they are Thine.”

Dr. Death meets his Maker

Jack Kevorkian died yesterday without any assistive device. Ironically, Dr. Death died of "natural causes" in a Detroit area hospital. Kevorkian spent much of his life playing god. Well, in the wee hours of Saturday morning he finally got to meet the only true God of the universe. There is a strong possibility that he will be spending some not so quality time with the likes of Osama bin Laden in the their final retirement location.

I caught an interview on Detroit, Michigan radio station WJR this evening. Rob Bliss was being interviewed about how and why he created the video below. Here is a portion of the YouTube description of the video:

`Sec. 4201. Limitation on use of foreign law in Federal courts

`In any court created by or under article III of the Constitution of the United States, no justice, judge, or other judicial official shall decide any issue in a case before that court in whole or in part on the authority of foreign law, except to the extent the Constitution or an Act of Congress requires the consideration of that foreign law.'.

SEC. 2. CLERICAL AMENDMENT.

The table of chapters for part VI of title 28, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:

Tea Party Platform for 2012

Hat tip goes to Judson Phillips, who proposed the following Tea Party Platform in a recent Tea Party Nation article, "A Tea Party Platform."

1. Cut spending. An immediate reduction in spending to 2004 levels. Government spending in 2004 was approximately $2.3 trillion. This one action will almost immediately balance the budget.
 

 2. Create a commission for the elimination of wasteful spending. The commission would have six months to go through the federal budget and propose the elimination of spending that is simply wasteful, fraudulent or programs that do not work, have achieved their goals when they were created, or have simply failed. The commission’s proposal would go to Congress for a straight up or down vote and cannot be amended by Congress. It would then go to the President for signature.
 

3. Close the border with Mexico. Use military forces to completely seal the border to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, illegal narcotics and terrorists from Mexico.


4. Enforce immigration laws currently on the books. Have ICE investigate employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants and prosecute those who do.


5. Cut taxes to stimulate the economy. While our long-term goal needs to be the replacement of the income tax with a consumption based tax, the immediate goal should be to stimulate the economy with tax cuts. Start with an across the board 30% cut in personal income taxes corporate taxes and the elimination of the capital gains tax.


6. Eliminate the useless departments of the federal government. Elimination of the Department of Education and Energy, which have failed miserably in their jobs, as well as an immediate freeze in hiring new government employees, except in the area of defense and national security.


7. Create a plan to make American energy self-sufficient within four years, by drilling and exploiting the natural resources we have here in America. This would include repealing laws that allow bureaucrats or liberal activist groups to file lawsuits that stop drilling or the construction of new refineries. Create rewards for those who can create marketable energy alternatives.


8. Repeal NAFTA, CAFTA and all the other free trade agreements. For America to remain a viable economic superpower, the country must have a manufacturing base. Not only do we need a manufacturing base to employ Americans, we also have crucial infrastructure components, such as power generators that are no longer made in America. If these components were destroyed in a terrorist attack, America could be crippled until we could get replacements, assuming that we could.


9. Either win Afghanistan or get out. The purpose of the military is not nation building. It is to destroy the enemy. Either we take the gloves off and let the military win in Afghanistan or we pull out.


10. Put together a commission to provide a plan to reform Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Social Security and Medicaid are rapidly heading towards insolvency. We need a plan to reform these programs.

All of the above mention platform issues are good. I agree with all of them. However, I would add the following to the platform:


11. End all federal funding and subsidies for abortion. This would include ending all funding of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America based on the documented corruption and its funneling of fungible funds to the abortion side of their “business.” Abortion remains America's holocaust, an American atrocity.


12. Reinstate the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy for our armed forces. In a time of war (or any time for that matter) introducing social engineering using our military as guinea pigs is beyond foolish.


13. Reform the American Health Care System. Tied in with item number 10 above dismantle all aspects of ObamaCare and substitute such reforms as promotion of Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and serious tort reform.

14.  End membership in the corrupt and terribly anti-American United Nations. The UN does more harm than it does good. We need to stop our funding of this worthless organization and its expanding one-world government vision.

 

The candidate who seeks my vote must be in fundamental agreement with the Platform as outlined above. This means that the candidate must be a fiscal and social conservative. Interestingly, one could say that the current President and his party have the exact opposite platform as the one proposed above.
