The Supreme Judge of the world

Here is a direct quote from the Declaration of Independence itself:
“WE, THEREFORE, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare. That These United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States:”
In the Holy Bible we read that Abraham after feeding three strangers, who happen to be God and two angels, gets up and walks a short ways with them toward Sodom (Genesis 18:20-26).
“And the LORD said, ‘Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.’
“And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
“’Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?’
“And the LORD said, ‘If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.’
In this exchange we see that Abraham is addressing this person, Who is God, as the ‘Judge of all the earth.’ This I would take as being the same person as the signers of the Declaration of Independence are referring to as the Supreme Judge of the world.
We find in John 5:22-27 that Jesus is the Judge of the world.
“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.”
The United States of America's very existence is from the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, don’t you think we should honor Him in our lives, nation, and state?

Indivisibility?
(The above display of an upside-down American flag is not a sign of disrespect, but of dire distress.)I have one thing in common with Michael Newdow, the ACLU and the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. I hate the Pledge of Allegiance. But the reason why I hate it is very different than their reasons. The reason why I am writing this now is that in one of the town hall meeting videos on this blog, Tim Bishop responded to a question about the unconstitutionality of government-run healthcare (this is because of the 10th amendment) by quoting the part of the Pledge about our nation being “indivisible”. (This mentally impaired hack took this to mean that if one American needs healthcare, all Americans should pay for it.) The Pledge is not in the Constitution and never should be. It is not at all like the Declaration of Independence, the Magna Carta, or the Federalist papers. And if we are really so "indivisible", then why are so many people so angry at their congressman these days?
The original Pledge was written by a Socialist named Francis Bellamy. He claimed to be a Christian, at least at first, but (according some sources) fell away from the church into a godless Socialism. The writing of the Pledge was just an assignment given to him by the magazine he worked for. The purpose was to boost sales. There was no “under God” in the original Pledge. The original accompanying salute to the flag (according to Wikipedia) “involved stretching the arm out towards the flag in a manner that resembled the later Nazi salute.” It had nothing to do with the founding of the Union of states or any of its laws. The Pledge was not written until 1892 and "under God" was not officially added until 1954.
Now let’s examine the text itself. The original wording was:
I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to* the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
I have no problem with “liberty and justice for all”, but these words had, by that time, been distorted, and much as they are today, mean different things to different people. But how can a Christian pledge allegiance to an inanimate object? Is this not idolatry?
Certainly I believe that we should have some sense of pride and patriotism for our country (at least Bellamy acknowledged the correct form of government of our country unlike our modern politicians who say “democracy”), but to pledge allegiance to it under any and all circumstances is dangerous. What better way to precede the daily brainwashing of children in the public school system than to force them to pledge their allegiance to an Obama-controlled, fascist
government? If Michelle Obama can say, “for the first time in my life I’m proud of my country”, then maybe we should start saying that we are NOT proud of our country. How is it that it is improper flag etiquette to put the Christian flag above the United States flag when they are flown on the same pole? Why is it that there used to be such a to-do about a Constitutional amendment to put people in jail for burning a U.S. flag, but no one suggested criminalizing the burning of a Bible? Where are our priorities?When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
If you read the entire Declaration of Independence, you will see that many of the grievances which compelled the Founders to secede from British rule are the same grievances we have today (and most we had even before Obama’s alleged Presidency). We do have a right to secede, and as far as I’m concerned, the sooner the better. We need to stop believing in this idea that the United States must be preserved under any and all circumstances. That is idolatry. We are to put the Bible first. If secession is the only way to abolish this tyrannical system and to restore a republican form of government, that is what we should do. But like disobedient Israel, we may someday be ruled over by another nation and if it is God doing it to punish us, no amount of patriotism or "pulling together" is going to stop it.

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) Signed Letter
It is interesting to note that Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown was one of the 41 Senators who signed that letter falsely accusing Rush Limbaugh of besmirching our soldiers in Iraq. Senator Reid sent the petty, lying letter to Rush Limbaugh's "boss" demanding he make Rush apologize for the prefabricated and misrepresented accusation about "phony soldiers". In my mind the only phony ponies are Senator Reid and his comrades-who-harm, those who signed the letter. Did Senator Brown also apologize for signing that letter? If not, he should.
What a far cry the politicians and poluticians of today are – especially the Democrats who stooped to sign such a nonsensical and untrue Declaration of Condemnation against the king of talk radio - compared to those great statesman and patriots, who in 1776, signed the Declaration of Independence from the tyrannical King of England. That is a long drop or fall from grace and status in 231 years. Senators Reid, Brown and the others deserve to be voted out of office at the first opportunity. Or maybe a “fairness doctrine” should be mandated on the speech of the congressional left, ya think?
Why does the Left hate America so much that they would continually condemn and hypocritically say they support the troops, yet they do all they can to undermine and even commit near treasonous acts to undermine the military and our attempt to win the victory in the war on terror? All I can concldue is that they want to estabish an America far different than our Founding Fathers shown in the above picture envisioned.

Rediscovering God in America
We stopped at a couple of bookstores, which were within walking distance of the Washington Hilton. After the second bookstore stop, I found the book for which I was looking, Rediscovering God in America, Reflections on the Role of Faith in Our Nation's History and Future. I found the book at the Books*A*Million. I had recalled this particular title form a radio show I had heard several months ago. The book was written by Newt Gingrich. It is a walking tour of Washington, D.C. in which the former Representative points out the how America had honored God in the past and preserved this honor and respect in some of the great monuments around Washington.
After our group had a breakfast Question and Answer with Representative Duncan Hunter, we later spent a good four to five hours following the former Speaker of the House's guided tour book. The book recommended starting the tour at the National Archives. We did this. We saw the actual preserved Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. What a privilege it was to be able to see this documents in person. Some of the ink, like some of the Founding Father's values have begun to fade, but they still are as meaningful as ever.
One gross error I noted was on one of the display signs in the exhibition hall, which described that our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were "natural rights." This is not how the Declaration of Independence stated the derivation of these rights. The Declaration says that the source of these rights are from God.
The Gingrich book guided next suggested visiting the Washington Monument, which we did. All of the free tickets to the monument had been given away by the time we arrived at the monument. We settled for getting close to the monument and in trying to notice the aluminum at the peak of the monument with the Latin inscription, "Praise God." These words are located on the eastern side of the peak. The morning sun rises reflecting first on these words every day.
We also walked to the two of the newer monuments, the World War II monument and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Both of these structures were essentially secular and make no mention of God. This truly is an insult to God, to whom participants in those wars at home and abroad had prayed. We saw the Jefferson Memorial from the Mall, but did not visit.
We did have an evening tour of the Capitol Building which was very rich in historical Christian history. Our tour guides for this live tour of the Capitol were Representative Steve Chabot (R-OH) and Rick Green from WallBuilders.org. They pointed out that the Capitol had been used for church services and prayer. Thomas Jefferson, in fact, allowed the Capitol to be used for Church services during his entire presidency. Likewise, he attended those services throughout his terms in office. This is the same person who supposedly is the author of the separation of church and state doctrine. If he was its author, he was its greatest violator.
What the book and the Capitol tour emphasized to me is that there is much history to learn, much education to be done for myself, the average American and the Christian. We are losing our heritage. We must restore and preserve our Christian heritage for ourselves, our fellow Americans and our posterity.
