Defeat Repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell Today

DADT Repealed will weaken the Military and hurt America. Homosexuality is a behavioral choice, not a civil right in need of special protection and privilege!

Senate may vote of this injurious proposition today ....

The same can be said for the dastardly DREAM or amnesty Act and senseless START.

Lame Duck Congress To-Do it to US list, part 2

This is the second of a two-part series discussing some of the bills that will be taken up by the lame duck Congress between now and Christmas. You can review part 1 here.

Here are two more large ticket items that we can expect that this miserable radical-left led 111st Congress will try to pass between now and Christmas:

       

·                    ·                  The nightmarish DREAM Act rises its ugly head once more. Commenting on this dastardly disguised amnesty legislation, the folks at TeaPartyNation.com wrote in an email to me, “This week shows the utter contempt the liberals in Congress have for the American people.  Despite the fact the American people sent the word back, through the elections, in no uncertain terms, we do not want their agenda; the liberals are dead set on pushing it through in their final gasp.” The obstinate Harry Reid led Senate sometime this week is going to take up the DREAM act again. Once more we must do all we can to stop it.  

If you have missed the features of this disastrous bill, they include:

Illegals under 35 (at least for now), can apply for legal status if they have a high school diploma or a GED and have enrolled in an “institution of higher learning.”

They have to only complete “two years” of a program and they have eight years to get that done. 

Once they complete this two-year program, then they are eligible for citizenship. 

If the illegal cannot complete his two-year program within eight years, they can apply for a waiver if they show their deportation would cause a hardship to a family member, a permanent US resident or to THEMSELVES!

Any information the illegal provides cannot be used against them for deportation proceedings!

Just by APPLYING for the DREAM act, all deportation proceedings are stopped.

Even worse, illegal alien criminals are not excluded from the DREAM act.  They can participate, even if they have committed felonies in America. 

And once someone is legalized under this measure, they can legalize all the members of their families to come to America.

·                    ·                    S 510, the so-called food safety bill will try to be passed by the Democrat led Congress. This bill is just another grab for power to control the food supply and limit the rights of the people. Like ObamaCare it is an intrusion in an area that may need some reform, but not the massive revamping called for by this bill. It could impact the local farmer’s market or our own vegetable gardens.

Diana Katz on the RepublicanAmerican website wrote, “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., reportedly is pursuing a vote on a massive expansion of food regulation. Proponents contend the very security of America's food supply is at stake. Rhetoric aside, the nation's food supply has never been safer, thanks largely to technological advances and market forces. Consequently, granting vast new powers to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would raise the cost of food without increasing consumer protection.” 

I like Katz's conclusion which could sum up much of what will be attempted during this unpleasant present lame duck session of Congress, "The Reid bill clearly contradicts the message sent by voters just three weeks ago: Americans do not want and cannot afford more unnecessary regulation and expansion of government. This proposal constitutes a costly and ineffective answer to a manufactured crisis."

The DREAM Act is a real nightmare!

The DREAM Act is:  Amnesty in disguise; Amnesty lite; Amnesty in your DREAMs; and Amnesty by just another name. This Soetoro/Obama Leftist regime is great at DREAMing up inauspicious names for dreadful legislation. 


According to Politico.com "Obama wants DREAM Act in lame duck (session)."  Simmi Aujla writes in his Political article, "President Barack Obama told Democratic members of Congress Tuesday he wants the DREAM Act passed in the lame duck session as a “down payment” on substantial immigration reform, according to members at the meeting..." The president deceivingly usese terms like "comprehensive immigration 'reform" which is another misnomer, just like comprehensive financial 'reform," health care 'reform' and comprehensive sex 'education' before it ....


He just doesn't get it, does he? He ignores the will of the people and then wonders why he has become such a controversial, divisive figure, as well as becoming increasingly unpopular. It is not that you are not communicating, sir. It is WHAT you are communication is understood by and rejected by the majority of Americans. Yet, you insist, despite the clear repudiation of your agenda a week ago Tuesday, you refuse mend you ways, you still refuse to budge from you destructive socialist agenda. You do so at your and your party's peril. See you at the polls in November 2012!

Abhorrent Social Issue Oriented Amendments Kill Defense Bill

Amnesty (DREAM Act), Abortions (in Military Hospitals), and Advancing Homosexuality in the Military (‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Repeal)

Here is an amalgamation of information I received via email from various sources including the Eagle Forum and Grassfire Nation,after the successful blockage of the terrible amendments to the Defense Authorization bill voted on at around mid-afternoon today in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Thankfully, enough Senators opposed cloture on the Defense Authorization bill. Cloture failed 56-43. However, Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, voted against cloture so that it can be brought up again in the Lame Duck session of Congress after the November election.

In violation of Senate protocol, Senator Reid added three non-germane amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2011. His action underscores the plausibility that these three amendments would have

· forced taxpayers to pay for abortions on military bases

· provided amnesty to millions of illegal aliens (the Dream Act)

· undermined military readiness by repealing Congress’ 1993 law concerning homosexuals (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell),

was a political ploy meant to motivate the Democratic base.

Here is more information on what these terrible three amendments would have done or could still do if they are brought up again by hopefully a very Lame Duck session of Congress in November and December …

1. Repeal of the 1993 law prohibiting homosexuals from serving in the military, often referred to as“don’t ask, don’t tell.” Even moderate Senators oppose making this policy change before seeing the results of a pending survey indicating how this change will affect the military.

2. Overturning the prohibition on performing abortions on all U.S. military bases. The Defense bill contains an amendment offered by Senator Roland Burris (D-IL) to strike Section 1093(b) of Title 10 of the U.S. Code and will permit the performance of abortions in both domestic and overseas military facilities. Current law prohibits the performance of abortion by Department of Defense medical personnel or in Department of Defense medical facilities except when the life of the mother is at risk or when the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest.

3. Amnesty for illegal aliens in the form of the so-called “DREAM Act." This act will:

* Offer legal status and a "path to citizenship" to all illegal aliens living in theU.S. who entered the U.S. before they were 16 years of age, and who have earned a high school diploma or a General Educational Development certificate (GED). The act also repeals the federal prohibition on states offering reduced in-state tuition at state-supported colleges and universities to illegal aliens.

* Overturn the prohibition on illegal aliens receiving federal student loans and participating in work-study programs.

* Allow amnestied aliens to apply for citizenship and petition to bring their extended relatives, including their parents who brought them here illegally, to the U.S. after six years.

Here is the content of a fax I sent late this morning to my Senators:

I am writing to express my opposition to the inclusion of the DREAM Act as well as the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy for our military as amendments to the Defense Appropriations bill.

In regard to the DREAM Act, he Federation for American Immigration Reform calls the DREAM Act "a broad amnesty measure disguised as an educational initiative that would allow millions of illegal aliens who meet a very loose definition of student to qualify for green cards." In addition, the DREAM Act would funnel taxpayer dollars away from legal residents and into the pockets of illegal aliens.

Repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT)," will have serious negative impact on the Military. During a time of war, why subvert the military in this way?

This is precisely why Americans are ready to go to the polls and bring sweeping political change to Congress! I urge you to vote NO on the DREAM Act and the repeal of the DADT amendments.

Adding unrelated and controversial amendments to the bill that funds our military is cynical, deceptive and cowardly. The debate over funding our military should not be compromised by pet programs that advance the liberal agenda.

I oppose amnesty and I am outraged that this Congress continues its deceptive pattern of back-room deals and legislative trickery. Vote NO on any pro-amnesty amendments to the Defense funding bill-- such as the DREAM Act -- or if the final bill includes either DREAM act or DADT repeal, (as well as expanding abortion services on our military bases) ...

DREAM Act

Despite the President’s recent timetable for withdraw, he and Congress know that in order to maintain the current level of occupation, there is a desperate need for more soldiers in Iraq. On Friday, Senator Dick Durbin reintroduced the DREAM (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) act. Orrin Hatch, the Utah Republican, was one of the original Senate co-sponsors, and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska is among those on board. This time, the bill, with the deceptively attractive title of DREAM is not being offered as a free-standing piece of legislation, but rather as an amendment to the Defense Department reauthorization bill. This portion of the bill would apply to Illegal Aliens entering the U.S. under age 16 and those who are high school graduates.

This would allow illegal aliens not just a path to citizenship if they join the military, but, AUTOMATIC AMNESTY. So which is more important now (all you Bush supporters), enforcing the laws of our land or winning a war? See how this war in Iraq in working against your own conservative principles?

How about a taking a poll? Which of the following would you say is the best policy?

A. Institute a Draft (in violation of the 13th amendment)
B. Enact the DREAM act (to vote for facilitating unlawful behavior click here)
C. Just stick it out with what we’ve got even if all die with no defined mission or exit strategy
D. Slowly withdraw from Iraq, leaving the remaining soldiers great peril
E. Get out of Iraq immediately and completely (in obedience to Revelation 18:4)

The DREAM Act is a nightmare. It is a massive amnesty that extends to the millions of illegal aliens who entered the United States before the age of 16. The illegal alien who applies for this amnesty is immediately rewarded with "conditional" lawful permanent resident (green card) status, which can be converted to a non-conditional green card in short order. The alien can then use his newly acquired status to seek green cards for the parents who brought him in illegally in the first place. In this way, it is also a back-door amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens who brought their children with them to the United States.
