Does the Mother's Severe Illness Justify Aborting Her Baby?

I grieve when I look at the lawless, immoral, unconstitutional fake pro-life bills that are being pushed in Texas and in other states. It is so discouraging to see the thousands of earnest pro-life Christians rallying for a feel-good bill that doesn't really protect children. As Tom Hoefling said, "When evil has a phony fight with evil, and good doesn't show up on the field, evil wins, every time."

What's wrong with the Texas "20 week" bill? Itcreates a new class of sub-humans who may be destroyed; namely, those who they claim cannot "feel pain." The bill also justifies abortion in cases of rape, whether the baby feels pain or not. Moreover, the bill contains language which nullifies itself if its restrictions are found to impose an "undue burden" or "substantial obstacle" in the path of any woman in her attempt to abort her baby. It's almost as if abortionists wrote a bill and tricked pro-lifers into supporting it.

April's edition of Answers magazine, which is produced by the Christian ministry Answers in Genesis and Ken Ham, highlights an article written by AIG author Dr. Tommy Mitchell that justifies abortion in a case of maternal health. He gives the example of a pregnant woman with leukemia who requires immediate chemotherapy. The chemotherapy may likely kill the baby, he argues, so the abortion is justified.

In spite of being presented with evidence of scientific studies showing that chemotherapy is "relatively safe" for preborn children and not as dangerous as once thought, they have held their ground and refuse to budge on their justification for the killing of some babies.

In a face to face meeting early this year, AIG leaders also justified abortion in cases of HELLP syndrome. While speaking at a homeschool convention this summer, I had the honor of meeting Darren and Michelle Blough, and their two beautiful children Moriyah and Nathaniel, both of whom were born in spite of HELLP syndrome. Babies can survive it! You don't have to kill babies to save their mothers!

With the second pregnancy, Michelle also had eclampsia, and kidney failure. She was on dialysis and had a dozen units of blood. She was intubated. What would have saved the mother's life, according to the physicians? "Terminating the pregnancy," of course. I thank God that they listened to the voice of conscience and God's Word, and not the voice of godless physicians who think it's okay to sometimes kill helpless babies.

As the Blough family's testimony shows, killing babies isn't good healthcare after all. And it's not good pro-life policy either, for it abandons God's blessing for a bill the devil could "Amen," and perpetuates the abortion holocaust.

Last Man Speaking, Mansfield, Ohio Town Hall Meeting 8/24/09

This past Monday night our local area was blessed with an atypical, and what I believe was model Town Hall meeting. The meeting was held at the local High School. It was the result of a spontaneous idea and action of a local TEA Party. Two hours were set aside in the evening at a time when those of us who work were able to attend. Proportionally little time was allocated for the presenters, the bulk of the time was given to hear from the people. The people did speak. The frustration of the people over the ever expanding big government and its even bigger spending practices were expressed. The two representatives aides seemed to hear. Not sure if the liberal Senator Sherrod Brown would ever depart from the Democratic Party line, however, at least he sent someone to hear, whether he will listen is a very different matter.

HERE COMES THE JUDGE

The sponsor of the Mansfield, Ohio Town Hall Meeting on Government Run Health Care and the Cap & Trade Legislation, the Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association, wisely chose a respected, no-nonsense local judge to moderate this Town Hall. After all those unruly (and many for good reasons) meetings, Judge James DeWeese would have none of it. He reprimanded and cautioned the crowd and one individual, in particular, when it or she got out of line. Out of the Town Hall Meetings I have viewed on the Internet, this Town Hall was a model.

From my vantage point on the front row looking back across the expansive auditorium I thought two-thirds of the 1200 seat Mansfield Senior High School Auditorium were filled. The cup of wrath and indignation was more than ½ full with citizens wanting to share with their representatives. Lame duck (emphasis on lame) Senator Voinovich’s office said that he has never did Town Hall Meetings and will not be starting now. He was invited, but declined. Senator Sherrod Brown sent a representative, the State Director of his office, John Ryan. I don’t think Sen. Brown is in the mood to endure the questions about his beloved health care reform monstrosity. Senator Brown has been and continues to be an extreme liberal on almost all of the current issues. On the other hand, Congressman Jordan is a very conservative member of Congress. Just a week earlier, Congressman Jim Jordan was present in Lucas, Ohio, a small town just east of Mansfield, speaking before 200 or so people. Ray Yonkura, Rep. Jordan's Chief Of Staff represented him at this Town Hall.

The program started at 7 and was to run until 9 PM. Judge DeWeese opened the Town Hall with a few remarks, he was followed by Mr. Ryan then by Mr. Yonkura. Mr. Yonkura was on the correct side of nearly all the issues and had the support of most of the people present. I would declare him the winner of the "debate." John Ryan did his best to disguise the very liberal positions of Sherrod Brown, the Mansfield native.

After the presentations, which lasted until around 7:30 PM, two lines formed, one on the right of the stage, and another on the left. The question and answer period lasted 90 minutes. On most question, both representatives had an opportunity to respond. When the time approached 9:00 PM Judge DeWeese wisely cut off the comments by the two representatives, but allowed everyone remaining in line to ask a question or make a statement. I am very glad he did this, otherwise we would not be able to here the wisdom of the last person in line.

THE LAST MAN STANDING & SPEAKING

At around 9:15 PM, or so, the last man standing was an elderly gentleman who slowly but deliberately made his way on his own volition and took the microphone. It turned out to be a marvelous and fitting conclusion to an evening when a lot of folks got a lot off of their collective chests.

This man was so symbolic of America, that I had to transcribe his entire remarks. His words follow the embedded video below. His comments were low key, yet he was every bit as passionate and profound as Michelle Malkin on the View TV Show. He's my new hero. He's a great American. His entire words of wisdom are captured in the embedded video below. Roy Wagner of KRose Video was on hand to record the entire Town Hall Meeting. I was particularly appreciative of his documentation of this important and historic event.

To me, this geriatric giant of a man in many ways represents the best of America past and present. His words encapsulate the sentiment of most Americans past and present. He spoke for the silent and moral majority. A well grounded, respectful, conservative voice that is seldom if ever heard as clearly in the censored media called TV News. A man with the mental agility that could outperform most Mansfield Senior High students right now. Inspirational!

Here to me was the highlight of the night. Here to me summarized the previous two hours. So simple, yet so wise. The words of a patriotic, average American, whom we should try with all of hearts and minds and spirit to emulate.

“Thank you for being here, Judge DeWeese. You conducted a very good thing - meeting. [applause] I admire you, greatly, Judge DeWeese, for putting morality into your office. [Sustained applause]

“I may be the oldest man in here (tonight), I don’t know. I’m 95 years old. [Applause] I was born in Richland County and I graduated from Madison High School in 1932. There are only 3 of us left . . .

“I love this country. [Applause] I had a son killed in Vietnam. I’ve have a young grandson in the Marines now. [Applause]

“I am a registered Democrat now, because I wanted to vote (in the primary election) for my grandson, who ran for mayor of Ontario (a suburb of Mansfield). And he made it. And he will be on the ballot this fall as a Democrat.

“But I am a Republican, and I voted Democrat because I wanted to see my grandson get elected. He’s a good man. Judge DeWeese is also a Democrat, and he is a good man. [Applause]

"Now, I want to recite a poem I learned many years ago and it never crossed my mind until the President started going across the world criticizing our country.

COMMENT

At 95, this man gave an amazingly powerful and inspirational closing challenge to all Americans. It capped an intense evening at this model Town Hall meeting. For those who left this ballgame early, they missed the game winning home run!

While the two representatives got peppered with questions and comments from those assembled, this elderly gentleman put it all into proper perspective. He saw his president "doing wrong" by defaming and insulting our nation abroad. The majority of those present (and I believe that they represent the majority of Americans) vehemently oppose what this president has already done on foreign soil as well as what he and his administration are doing and trying to do domestically. I absolutely concur with Congressman Jordan and his Chief of Staff, Ray Yonkura, that imposition of both Government-Run Healthcare and the new tax scheme called Cap and Trade must be defeated along with halting out-of-control and wasteful government growth and spending.

One closing note regarding this seasoned citizen, he is walking visualization or demonstration of why we don't need ObamaCare. This vital man is still contributing value to society, and I would say he will continue to do so until God takes him. Their is a real danger under ObamaCare or socialized medicine that this man would be "expendable" or not worth "investment" of health care because of his age . . . Now that would be a great shame, wouldn't it?

Is the Senate Democrat Majority Leader, Sen. Harry Reid, trying to outdo or to just be more outrageous and more traitorous than his Democrat counterpart in the U.S. House of Reprehensives, the reprehensive Nancy “I am the most powerful woman in the world” Pelosi? Or is Harry Reid just daft? Maybe he is all of the above.

Pelosi goes to see President Bashar al-Assad of terrorist sponsoring and supporting Syria, which is giving aid and comfort to the very enemies of America fighting in Iraq. She contemplates going to see Iranian neo-Hitler President to just "chat"? However, she refuses to talk to the President of the United States of America, the Commander-in-chief? She acts like she is an Ambassador and the Secretary of State. More like the Queen of Donkeys if you ask me. Is she trying to establish a shadow government? I question her loyalty to America.

This week on Sunday, April 19th, Sen. Reid made the statement “This war (in Iraq) is lost, and that the surge is not accomplishing anything, as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday.” Can you believe making such a statement right in the middle of the war? He not only does withhold support for the military's revised strategy for the war, but he belittles it. By doing so, he demoralizes the troops. He emboldens the enemy. Our enemies and their supporters are quoting him like crazy. He is their hero.

Does he and Pelosi not want America to win the war? Are they only afraid that if we do win the war and President Bush is somehow vindicated that Senator Reid and his cowardly comrades-in-harm would lose power? What would be worse, losing a few seats in Congress, or losing this war to the Islamic-terrorists and the repressive regimes that back them, Iran, Syria and China? I know by your treasonous statements Senator Harry where you stand. Wake up Senator Reid and get a grip on yourself and on reality.

Shame on you, Senator Reid, and shame on you Reprehensive Nancy “I am the most powerful woman in the world” Pelosi. You both encapsulate the very worst elements of politics. You both are as much enemies of America as Osama Bin Laden or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. You and your comrades-in-harm, the Democrat Party leadership, conspire by your words and actions that you want the Islamic terrorists to win the war on terror in Iraq. I call upon both to resign. You are both traitors. You both have committed treason. You both are unfit to hold office any longer. I call on the Department of Justice to bring charges against you. Failing to resign, or failing to be prosecuted for treason against this country, you both must go the next time you are face election!

Internal Terrorist Internment, Too

President Franklin D. Roosevelt did it to the Japanese in World War II. President Bush should consider sending the 218 representatives, who voted to require that the troops be brought home from the war on terror in Iraq by next September, to an interment camp. While President Bush is at it he might think about hauling off along with the cowardly congressmen and congresswomen, more than a few traitorous senators like Kennedy and Schumer. They work tirelessly constructing roadblocks to victory (and detours to defeat) at every step along the way in this war on terror. Many in the Congress are every bit the enemies of America as the mullahs or imams, They are internal terrorists and should be locked up for the duration of the war on terror to protect America from all of their treachery. The wicked make mischief by law. There is much mischief-making in Congress these days.

Guantanamo Bay Cuba may be an excellent venue to place these lovers of capitulation. These folks seem to have more in common with the residents of Gitmo than the residents of Middle America. They could have a chance to really get to know their brother, with whom they apparently have more in common with than the typical American citizen. Yes, pair up Abdul and Conyers, Mohammed and Murtha, Hassid and Hoyer; they would have just one big meeting of the minds.

The Democrat Party has so brainwashed (or maybe) bribed these politicians so that they are willing to do things that are reprehensible. Personally, I would much rather be fighting the war on terror in the Middle East than in Middle America.

Two Hundred and Forty-Six Traitors

Not too long ago the House of Representatives voted on a non-binding resolution to not increase the troop strength in Baghdad, Iraq in order to stop the violence against the population there. This was part of President Bush’s new strategy in the war on terror in Iraq. This shows that they do not want a stable government friendly to the United States in that country. Nor are they against the violence to the populace that goes on in Iraq. They also seem satisfied to have the violent terrorists run the country. They are also willing for those who have befriended the United States to be put to death just as our friends in Vietnam were put to death when we pulled out of Vietnam in the seventies.

There was no outcry from these same people about the deaths caused by the Communist North Vietnam military. They say America cannot win. They also have no faith in Almighty God. Nor do they fear God in their personal lives.

I am reminded of when Israel was to go into the land of Canaan and twelve spies were sent into the land for forty days to scout out and assess the situation. Ten of the spies came back with an evil report saying they could not win in a battle or series of battles against the inhabitants of Canaan. Two spies said they could win and should go up at once and take the land. The people believed the ten spies. As a result God was angry with the ten spies and the people. The ten spies died shortly thereafter and Israel wondered for 40 years in the desert until a new generation came along willing to follow God into the land of Canaan.

One day Satan will be stripped of his power and majesty and those who see him will say, “Is this the one who caused the nations to tremble and weakened the nations? He has become as weak as us.” He weakens the nations by turning men’s hearts from God. They have no faith in anyone greater than themselves nor do they believe there is someone greater than themselves able to help them. They do not live lives pleasing to God and therefore insure His wrath instead of His blessing. This in turn weakens the resolve of a nation.

America has many sins, which weakens it. First, is secularism, which is godlessness. Second is the shedding of innocent blood, abortion and embryonic stem cell research and euthanasia. Third is homosexuality. Fourth is cursing Israel with the land for peace and trying to have a Palestinian State. Fifth, is bad sexual behavior, bestiality, adultery, as well as others. Sin is a reproach to any nation even the United States of America.

Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a nation sows, it shall also reap.
