Fearless Four Vote 'No" on Fiscal Cliff Can Kicking

FISCAL CLIFF 'ECONOMY-IN-THE-TOILET BOWL' FOOLSBALL GAME

HALF-TIME SCORE:

89-4

TAX-AND-SPEND-CAN-KICKING SENATORS versus NO-TAX-INCREASES-AND-CUT-SPENDING SENATORS:

I think the Dems and RINO Grassley on this list voted 'no' because they wanted the taxpayers over 200K to pay higher rates, not just those over 400K.

Bennet D-CO

Carper D-DE

Grassley R-IA

Harkin D-IA

MIKE LEE R-UT

RAND PAUL R-KY

MARCO RUBIO R-FL

RICHARD SHELBY R-AL

Sadly only four Conservative-Tea Party Republicans stood on principle and voted against this foolish 'fix' to the fake 'fiscal crisis.' The real problem is not insufficent taxes, its UNSUSTAINABLE AMD WASTEFUL GOVERNMENT SPENDING!!!

AND Where are ANY spending cuts?

AND Where is the 2013 Budget Senator Reid?

‘Debbie Does Debt,’ A horror flick?

A tweet posted by @drdrjojo (hat tip!) included a link to a video where Congresswoman and Democratic National Committee Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz tells us exactly who is responsible for the present economy. The video is also an ad by Karen Harrington, who is her opponent in the 2012 Florida General Election.

Stacy’s Just Sayin’ ‘bout Obama

People, black, brown, red, yellow and white, are waking up to the real Barack Obama. The media has manipulated and sheltered the true Barack Obama's identity from the public since before the 2008 Election campaign season. But the finish on the Kenya and Keynesian made product has become badly tarnished. The shine has lost its make-believe luster. In other words, America is seeing the real Barack Hussein Obama.

He is a socialist through and through. He is a racist. He espouses class-warfare. He has lived up to and exceeding his reputation as the most liberal Senator in the US Senate. He’s the pin-up man for the ultimate Tax and Spend liberal Democrat.

Hat tip goes to @StacyOnTheRight for the link to the video below, which she had in one of her recent tweets:

Left & Right: No to the Tax Cut Compromise!

Hat tip goes to Newsbusters.org where I first saw these three cartoons. It seems like only the unprincipled middle wants this compromise between the President and the Republican Party leadership. Although I would like to see the Bush tax cuts continued for everyone, I do not like the spending that is attached that will be 'needed' to bring it about through the so-called compromise.  I hope that the compromise fails and that none of the spending measures tied to it goes through. You just know if the current President and former President Bill Clinton agree on something that it can't be good. I oppose the measure because of the excessive spending (I heard upwards to $250 billion) that will take to avoid the expiration of the tax cuts.

I would allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, if we could require through legislation that all Federal spending be limited to some percentage of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) such as 20% or 25%. It would mean eliminating a great deal of government waste across the board. This, however, is why we purged many in Congress of both parties this past election. We want to control the growth and spending of government. We need to take the credit cards out of the hands of the spendthrift President and Congress and demand that they create and live by a budget. We must stop increasing the deficit and start to pay it off. It will take sacrifice. It will be hard. But it can be done. Yes we can - reduce government spending - to quote a recent President. We must. We have no choice. Our nation very existence depends upon it!

Is this change we can believe in?

The favorite Leftist line...

I was involved last night in a “conversation” on the National Politics Forum onCleveland.com.

One of the favorite default tactics of the Leftists is to smear, besmirch their opposition via personal attack in lieu of dealing with the issues at hand. Maybe its their favorite or their only sure-fire (they think) approach when faced with any opposition.

For example they are fond of labeling Tea Party patriots as "Teabaggers," “Racists,” “Extremists,” “Ignorant,” and “Nut Jobs” among others."

Why do they do this?

Because...

(1) We the people vehemently oppose the controversial and increasingly unpopular President and his rubber-stamp Democratic-led Congress and their destructive European Socialist policies?

(2) We the people want less instead of more government?

(3) We the people want liberty and not tyranny?

(4) We the people want less spending and less taxes instead of more of the same?

(5) We the people want smaller not bigger government?

Sen. Jim Bunning makes a pitch for accountability

Here is a annoying fund-raising letter I received from a typical Democratic candidate, who blasts Senator Bunning for wanting to know how a bill will be funded before agreeing to allow it to move forward.

A Republican Senator's act of blocking an emergency extension of unemployment benefits reveals how out of touch the GOP is with the plight of out-of-work families and confirms that we need to hold our Senators and would-be Senators accountable by looking at their campaign reports.

Dear Greg,

Last week retiring U.S. Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY), managed to halt an emergency extension of unemployment benefits and COBRA assistance, even though he knew they'd expire on Sunday night. He punched hundreds of thousands of out-of-work Americans right in the gut.

What's wrong with this guy? By threatening to vote against "cloture" (closure of filibuster debate) he stymied the efforts of the rest of Congress to help hard-hit American families muddle through a little longer on unemployment benefits until the recovery from the worst economic crisis in generations finally reaches them. Sen. Bunning is so out of touch he complained that maintaining his opposition caused him to miss a college basketball game.

Despite his claimed concern for the deficit, I'd say Sen. Bunning's real game has been the money game. Banks get bailed out, CEOs get their bonuses, but when it's time to help American families, federal deficit means no relief for them. Sen. Bunning and the party that has historically taken us in the wrong direction are using the 1994 playbook once again on America. If power and self aggrandizement is your real game, you'll take money from the highest bidder, and it's to your advantage to sack progress even if it means you miss a basketball game.

There are signs the economic recovery is stirring, but the recession has cost our fellow Americans eight million jobs. The unemployment rate remains staggeringly high, and in reality is higher than reported because it doesn't account for Americans who've stopped looking for work.

No matter what a lame duck Kentucky Senator thinks, I know Ohioans are hard working. They are frustrated, because they just want to work. When Senators are as out of touch as Jim Bunning, it's a sign of the times. How long will an unresponsive Congress whittle away at the middle class and push down hard working Americans who just want to work and take care of their families?

We need to hold our Senators and would-be Senators accountable by looking at their campaign reports. If they get money from banks that got TARP money, we can't expect they'll vote for needed banking reforms to protect consumers and hold the line on whopping bank bonuses. If they get their money from the people to whom they dole out money, it's an incestuous relationship that makes government work for the rich and not for those who work hard and play by the rules.

Blame the filibuster if you will, but the real problem is what's fueling this insanity in the first place. Ask yourself why this is happening. And when you answer honestly, remember that it's only people like you and me who can change that. Let your voice be heard, contribute what you wish or can as an everyday American, and keep talking and fighting for courage in the Senate.

I will.

Jennifer Brunner
Ohio Secretary of State & Democratic U. S. Senate candidate

Here is the response that I would send to the current Ohio Secretary of State if I thought that it would do any good . . .

Dear Jen Jen:

Thank you for your lovely letter lambasting lame-duck Kentucky Senator and great baseball player Jim Bunning. What is wrong with Senator Bunting wanting to know where the money will come from to fund this additional generous outlay of money we don’t have for this or for ANY reason?

In your letter you don’t offer any source of funding for this additional government outlay. Isn’ that at all important to you, Miss Moneybag? Senator Bunning rightly drew the line with this bill. Jen, are you another Soetoro/Obama-Pelosi-Reid socialist who cares nothing about indebting future generations? He merely attempted to get peoples attention about a growing deficit that the Democratic led Congress and President have worsened since the Bush years.

If the attitude expressed in your letter is an accurate reflection of your philosophy as a want-to-be United States Senator, Jen, we do not need you there. There are enough tax and spenders in Congress already. We do not need you further mucking it up.

I won’t (vote for you).

Ohio Taxed to the Max Rally, Saturday 1/30/10, Columbus, Ohio - Part 3

Government asked to Stop Treating Ohio Taxpayers Like an ATM!

Rob Portman was spoke at the ATM Rally in Columbus yesterday (Saturday). The following is a partial transcript continuation of a portion of the speech he presented at the rally. See the previous postings here and here. Portman is one of the Republican candidates running to fill Senator George Voinovich's seat in the U.S. Senate. What he said Saturday was very conservative fiscally. However, I am not sure where he stands on the social issues.

Portman discusses several tax-related issues and current government policies, which adversely affect the economy in Ohio and in America today.

"Cap and Trade . . . our manufacturers getting hit because of the new regulations on emissions. This is not the way to get our economy on track!

"It is also about Card Check . . . it takes away the ability to have a secret ballot if you are a union member . . . I talked to one union steward in Columbus on a factory tour and he didn't want to lose the secret ballot, nor do most union members.

"These are the things that if you are a small business person, or if you are a risk-taker, or just thinking about starting something . . . you are discouraged right now.

"That is why when I heard the President talk the other night, I was delighted when the President was thinking about getting back to jobs and the economy . . . but his actual policies have just the opposite affect. They're discouraging job growth. In fact, I would argue that the stimulus package, which was passed a year ago, has not helped create jobs but has made it more difficult to create jobs. Why? Because we are growing PUBLIC sector jobs and we are losing PRIVATE sector jobs.

"It is going to result in

· increasing interest rates,
· put more pressure on inflation,
· it lowers the value of the dollar,
· it also puts us in a position that we are passing along to our kinds & grandkids an immoral deficit and debt that they will have to deal with.

"This is just not the American way! . . ."

Ohio Taxed to the Max Rally, Saturday 1/30/10, Columbus, Ohio - Part 2

Government asked to Stop Treating Ohio Taxpayers Like an ATM!

Rob Portman was one of the final speakers at the ATM Rally. The following is a partial transcript of his speech. I attended this hour-long rally with about 100 other people at the Hyatt in downtown Columbus. Weather was very chilly, but the discussion was hot . . .

"A change we can really believe in, which is change to get away from the idea that government knows best, the idea that government can provide for all of us, the idea that we are going be able to have prosperity through borrowing and spending. We'll get prosperity from the HARD WORK and INGENUITY of the American people! We need to UNLEASH and EMPOWER people.

"Now I look at what is happening in Washington and I really worry. This is a tax forum today so I'll discuss taxes . . . The plan right now by the (Soetoro aka) Obama administration and by the Democrats in Congress is to increase taxes, not just on us in terms of income tax, but on

* Capital gains taxes,

* Dividend taxes,

* Payroll taxes - look at the health care bill,

* Estate taxes, in fact go up dramatically at the end of this year.

Income taxes are important to individuals and to businesses. 90% of small businesses in Ohio pay taxes as individuals . . .

"Taxation is the power not just to grow government, but it is the power to destroy if used improperly. Unfortunately, it is destroying jobs here in the state of Ohio. . ."

Ohio Taxed to the Max Rally, Saturday 2PM, 1/30/10, Columbus, Ohio

Please join Americans for Prosperity, Ohio (AFP-OH) today (this Saturday 1/30/10) at the Already Taxed to the Max Rally where we will hear from special guest speaker Rob Portman, former Director of the Office of Management and Budget and former Congressman in Ohio’s second congressional district. Portman earned the title of “budget hawk” as he fought to balance the budget and end pork barrel spending.

This rally follows on the heels of Governor Strickland’s State of the State address where he repeated numerous times that he believes in Ohio. Given the number of new government programs Governor Strickland proposed, it is clear that what he really believes in is Ohio’s government spending our tax dollars. AFP-OH believes in Ohioans and believes that if Ohio government will get out of the way by reducing spending, taxes, red tape and regulations, Ohio businesses will thrive and create much needed jobs.

The Columbus Tea Party, the Ohio Freedom Alliance, Citizens United to End Ohio’s Estate Tax, Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes and the Ohio Citizens Accounting Standards Board are partnering in this rally, which will send a strong message that Ohio’s government must get spending under control and stop treating Ohio taxpayers like an ATM.

Tax & Spend Rap by (Barry Soetoro, alias) Barack Obama

Here is a masterful video by Bryan Barton that underlines the reason for and the need for the upcoming (Wednesday) April 15th Tax Day Tea Parties across the U.S.A.

I particularly enjoyed the closing pieced together, out of context, but, oh, so true quote of the president:

The Reality Report – April 4, 2009 – Tea Parties

For a Free & Independent Media

Here is a 10 minute hard-driving news program with Gary Franchi, the anchor. The news program covers issues not given much attention in the opposition media (ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, PBS, etc.). I have watched several of the Reality Report Shows and have found them to be very educational, timely and useful.

I would like to bring your attention to one story featured on today’s program.

TEA PARTY PROTEST MOVEMENT SPREADS

15,000 At Fullerton, CA Tea Party Protest

“The Tea Party Movement is picking up steam. Spontaneous mass gatherings of Americans are flooding the streets of major cities to protest actions

· of the out-of-control policies of the Fed (Federal Reserve Banking System),
· talk of a global currencies, and
· socialization of the United States

The websites read

· www.ShowMeTheLaw.org, and
·
www.TruthAttack.org.

“(These websites) are offering organizational and networking support for this movement . . .

“Thousands of freedom loving Americans showed up in Cincinnati, Orlandao, Washington, D.C. . . . . 15,000 protesters participated in the Fullerton, California Tea Party last month, see photograph above.

“The next scheduled action date are April 15th and April 25 at post offices, town squares, and Federal Reserve Bank Branches nationwide.

“This movement is gaining momentum with no signs of slowing down and you need to visit the above websites to get further involved.

“Keep in mind, if there ever was a time to watch out for a false flag terror attack, it is now, because a full declaration of Marshall Law and fear would grip the people and all momentum would ground to a halt. Unless you see through the shock and awe tactics of the new world order and press through to freedom. This is the beginning of the next American Revolution that is long overdue . . .”

In addition to the website named above I encourage you to visit the American Family Association Taxed Enough Already (TEA) Party Day website at http://www.TEAPartyDay.com/ to learn were the nearest upcoming tea party is located. I encourage you to attend an April 15th Tea Party.

Will Obama "Save" the Economy?

The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch newspaper runs a regular feature called the Hot Issue, where they ask their readers a question of interest and ask them to answer the question and comment on their answer. The following question was asked today.

The Hot Issue:

Do you think the Obama administration will be able to solve the nation's economic crisis?

My Response:

No, in fact, the Obama Administration will further exacerbate the economic crisis.

The Obama Administration will make Bush & Company, as bad as they were at spending money, look like spendthrifts. Obama does not stand for the change he purported to represent on the stump, but he represents retread Carter-Clinton liberal tax and tax and tax and spend and spend and spend policies.

If anything with his Gore-green environmental policies and his foolish adoption of the so-called carbon-credit bunk, there will be further crippling of what is remains of our manufacturing industries. His anti-American and pro-Marxist “spread the wealth” policies and tax policies will further destroy America’s middle class and small businesses. Obama's policies would cap the Clampett's oil well and send them back to the hills impoverished and dependent on the government. Obama's "green" energy policy will only further stifle domestic oil production, clean coal use, nuclear use, etc. This will help to further destroy our economy and enrich the Sheiks. They will serve as disincentives to entrepreneurship, which helped build America into an economic powerhouse in the first place.

Hillary and Oh! Bomber 'er! Debate

This week I am taking a break from my series on third party and independent candidates for President (Republicrat Alternatives) to offer my comments on last weeks debate between Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama. I just happened to be near a TV, and it just happened to be on. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t waste my time watching something like that.

First of all Obama looked pathetic as Hillary caught him in lie about taxes. Both had claimed that they would let the Bush tax cuts expire but not raise taxes further on anyone making less than about $200,000/year. But Obama admitted that he would raise the cap on payroll taxes and raise capital gains taxes, which would affect a lot of people making less than $200,000.

Hillary also attacked Obama for being associated with that bomber guy. Obama replied that he was associated with someone who favors putting people to death for abortion, but no one would think to ascribe to him this person’s views. Now think about this. Obama distancing himself from someone who wants to get tough on murderers…to prove a point that his associating with a murderer doesn’t necessary mean that he is murder sympathizer! Amazing!

Then Hillary and Obama proceeded to discuss under what circumstances they would go to war with Iran. Using the same threatening language that Bush used to sell us on the war with Iraq, the art of playing on the fears of the American people is alive and well. Now, how, may I ask, are you going to pay for this war if you don’t raise taxes on more than just the rich? The answer is we go deeper into debt and/or the government prints more money which causes inflation, which is the equivalent of a tax raise across the board for everyone. Don’t believe that the Democrats aren’t just as much in bed with the Industrial War Complex (Haliburton, oil companies, etc.) than the Republicans? Click here. Both Hillary and Obama said that they would go to war with Iran if they attacked another country, even countries other than U.S. and Israel.

There is good reason not to trust Hillary that she would pull out of Iraq, since she voted for the war in Iraq in the beginning. If you live in West Virginia, Indiana, North Carolina, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kentucky, Oregon, Idaho, New Mexico, or South Dakota register as a Republican and vote for the only true peace candidate, Ron Paul!
