Diversity and tolerance can be divisive

During a conversation on Facebook the following statement was made in a discussion about drag queens, such as the freakish appearance of someone by the name of Billy Porter on the children's show Sesame Street.

Exposing to diversity is always a good thing. This can start some good dialogue for kids.

Here is my response to the above statement to the person who made this comment.

No, sir. Diversity is NOT always a good thing.

In fact, if so-called diversity exposes children to gender confused (mentally disturbed), freakish drag queens, transvestites, pedophiles, child molesters, aberrant sexual educators, racists (black or white) or radical Muslims as some children are being exposed to, it is wrong, it is harmful, it is evil.
Diversity can be divisive, it divides.
Children should be exposed to and encouraged to assimilate into the American culture. The things that unite us should be emphasized. The opposite is happening in our failing public schools due the radicalized teacher unions and "enlightened" elitist led education associations.

Having a proper understanding and appreciation of one's own culture is first and foremost. Secondarily an understanding and appreciation of other cultures and people groups is also worthwhile as long as is not used to indoctrinate or propagandize certain behaviors or philosophies antithetical to ones own culture.

Diversity versus assimilation

"The accompanying Puck editorial asks "What is an American?" In response, it answers that an American is the assimilation of all immigrants who settled in this country, and urges everyone to be American, American born or American made. ..."  Source

Here is a comment made on the Cleveland.com's National Politics Forum several weeks ago. “Diversity is good. Anyone who is not in favor of it is a racist.” It generated some good commentary, but was quickly purged for political correctness reasons, I presume.

My response, before the entire thread was purged, was that Assimilation is better. To respect and adhere to America’s founding principles, values embodied in the Constitution, and other original intent of the documents is the key to assimilation. Too much of the current regime’s and the now lame duck 111th Congresses’ agenda and legislation has been aimed at fostering the balkanization of America. Using bilingual signage and instructions in government offices is counter productive and encourages disunity instead of unity and assimilation. Oklahoma citizens this fall got it right by banning any implementation of Islamic sharia law or any international law in that state. Ohio and the rest of the nation should imitate the wise actions of the Okies.

In regard to that drawing above, could that man standing on the rim of the citizenship bowl be representative of illegal immigration and Islamic radicalism that tragically are making such inroads into American society today?
Assimilation is always the best route. Those who refuse to assimilate should be denied the rights and privileges of citizenship.

President's Wasted Asian Jaunt

"... The (11/9/10 Indonesian) speech was also to focus on what (Soetoro aka) Obama said were shared values of religious tolerance and unity in diversity ..." from USA Today 11/10/10 article, "Obama: Indonesia, U.S. 'on right path.' page 5A.

This controversial and increasingly unpopular President just doesn't get it, does he? No. He refuses to admit that we are at war with Islam and the terrorists that religious-militaristic-political system fosters and encourages.

A non-Muslim cannot set foot in Mecca. A Christian may not practice his or her faith in the typical Islamic state. Conversion from Islam to Christianity, or to any other faith for that matter subjects a person to punishment up to and including death. Islamists come to the United States and misuse our freedoms and liberties to perpetuate their cruel, hate filled creed.

When will this deluded and/or deceitful President ever come to grips with reality and/or the lie about Islam that he perpetrates?

Gran Torino (2008)

'DIRTY HARRY' IN RETIREMENT

Gran Torino is a very politically incorrect movie. It has many other redeeming features. The acting of Clint Eastwood is one. His acting is superb. Actually, that is the primary reason why I rented the movie the first week it was out (last week). The video store clerk told me he could hardly keep the film on the self since it was released last Tuesday. After watching it I could see why.

Eastwood plays a hardened, tough, gruff, but gravely ill senior citizen, Walt Kowalski, who just lost his wife, Dorothy. She was the love of his life. The impression I got was she was his whole life. He retired from the Ford plant where he put the last steering wheel into the last Gran Torino that came off the assembly line. He proudy owns that vehicle. The green Gran Torino co-stars with Eastwood.

We see this grouchy, Korean War veteran who say a lot of action and partook in a lot of killing during the war try to adjust to life without Dorothy. He lives by himself in a changing neighborhood, apparently filmed in Detroit, where his neighbors happen to be Hmongs (refugees from the Mountains of Vietnam). He tries to have nothing to do with these ‘chinks.’ The local parish priest had promised to ‘take care of Walt.’ But Walt tries his best to blow off the padre. His Hmong neighbors try to befriend him, he rejects their attempts. His sons and their families try to console them, but there never was any deep relationships and he throws them out of the house when they visit on his birthday bearing gifts of a large numbered telephone and a reacher, meant to help him reach things on the top shelf. The man is fit and fit to be tied.

The rest of the movie involves dealing with some of the not so friendly neighbors haunting the neighborhood, gang bangers of assorted ethnicity and color.

One caution is the violence that ensues when Walt butts head with some of the creeps in the neighborhood on the edge of becoming a ghetto. The macho Clint Eastwood shines even at his ripe old age. Another caution is the crude and course language found in gangster rap music lyrics. That is why the movie has an R rating.

The movie is for mature adults and late teens. It is not for the politically correct crowd or the sensitive. easily offended, or do-gooders of life.

In the end this very outwardly antisocial, very mean, unfriendly guy reveals his true inner character.

RATING

Even though it is a very violent and at times extremely vile language is displayed, the message of the movie is inspiring. Eventually Walt does make friends and makes an indelible mark on his neighborhood. I would give the movie **** out of ***** and only because of the excessive violence and filthy language, though to a certain extent both are necessary to get the point across.

It is definitely not a movie for younger children or immature teens or adults.

Training in “Diversity”

After I wrote my article yesterday, I posted a tease on an internet forum and the reaction I received caused me to talk about the devisive topic of "diversity." Here is the essence my response to the following comment made by a reader: "A true Citizen of this free country is respecting diversity and everyone is different . . ."
Diversity is not a virtue. It is a vice.

If by “diversity” the radical leftists mean rejecting and purging God from our culture and embracing anything-but-God attitude and way of life, even the most vile, unspeakable and un-American of beliefs, behaviors and values.

Diversity calls for the rejection of any moral absolutes, the rejection of God, the rejection of true Christianity. Diversity may be politically correct, however it is divisive and destructive to a society in the long run. "Diversity" actually mocks the American melting pot.

Assimilation, on the other hand, is a much better word and a much more preferable concept or philosophy. Diversity polarizes. Assimilation unifies. New citizens should be assimilated not accommodated or differentiated or preferred. English only is but one outworking of the assimilation concept. True minorities, like Blacks and Hispanics, should not be pandered to but given a hand up.

The country was founded on and built on moral absolutes, honoring God and Christianity.

Like the words "tolerance” and "gay", "diversity” is one of the words now almost totally corrupted, antithetical and devoid of its original meaning, thereby rendered useless to any believer or seeker of truth. I reject the liberal (mis)interpretation of these once meaningful words. They are not part of my vocabulary today.

Is Eureka Springs America’s Sodom or Gomorrah?

I must be living a very sheltered life. I had never heard about this story until this weekend. Maybe, like many of my fellow Americans, I am overwhelmingly apathetic and anesthetized as to the much of the cultural metamorphosis that is taking place around me. Maybe we are like the frog slowly boiling to death in a pot of hot water cooking on the stove. Soon our country will be destroyed and we will be dead, not knowing what struck us.

CHRIST OF THE OZARKS

In 1966 the same person who chiseled out the four presidents on Mt. Rushmore, sculpted a 66 foot statue of Jesus Christ, called “Christ of the Ozarks.” That statue stands on top of Magnetic Mountain overlooking the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Modern day Eureka Springs wants to be a magnet to attract a diversified tourist clientele. This diversification includes pandering to perversions of all sort, much like brazen immorality of the inhabitants of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah.

SIN IN THE CITY

You could easily see the parallels between Eureka Springs and America. The current assault on American culture by the radial leftists in nearly every walk and area of life is similar to what has happened to this predominantly Christian Southern town.

Moreover, Eureka Springs may be a microcosm of America yesterday and today. Eureka Springs was once almost exclusively a Christian oriented and influenced place marked by a bountiful and beautiful land and many natural resources. But it let a few evil people subvert it. The Christian culture was spoiled and soiled by an amoral non-Christian ungodly political leadership.

Much like America has been negatively impacted by the immorality and violence streaming out of Hollywood, by the secular-humanistic religion of academia being taught to our children and by the leftist ideology of the leaders of the Democrat Party governing the laws coming out of Congress, and by the rulings of radical out-of-control activist judges being forced on our nation. A city and a nation are being corrupted by the evils of “diversity” and “tolerance” as well as personal immorality or sin.

It seems that every form of perversion is embraced by this culture. As a whole, Judeo-Christian virtues and values are rejected and are not tolerated at all. Ironically everyone and everything is politically correct except Almighty God and Jesus Christ and their followers

FILTHY LUCRE

Eureka Springs’ political leaders have compromised their community’s values in order to make a buck. Essentially the politicians have replaced Almighty God with the almighty dollar. Eureka Springs now offers a "domestic partnership registry" apparently for same-sex "couples". Eureka Springs advertises itself as offering among other things history, peace and sex. There is a deliberate pandering to and for the homosexual and lesbian dollar.

MORAL & SPIRITUAL POLLUTION

All of this “diversity” is having the affect of driving families and Christians from this once predominant and prominent Christian and family orientated vacation destination. The Great Passion Play has lost a lot of business because of the change of emphasis and the remaking of the town by the Mayor and the councilpersons. Eureka Springs has become an unfriendly and uncomfortable environment for Christian oriented visitors. This is an example of choosing profits over principles.

Eureka Springs even boasts of an active Metropolitan Community Church serving the “spiritual” needs of [homosexual] and lesbian ‘Christians’. These un-Christian congregations are located primarily in larger cities. "Come to Eureka Springs — the most homosexual city in the South," claims Rev. Philip Wilson the pastor of the First Christian Church in Eureka Springs. This says a lot about the "First Christian Chruch" and allot about "Reverend" Wilson as well, does it not?

MARKETING OF EVIL

There is a book titled, “The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised As Freedom,” which describes the product a few key influencers have attempted effectively to sell America. Likewise, Eureka Springs’ Mayor, politicians and marketers are selling out their community. Here is a bit of the “marketing” of evil as seen on the Eureka Springs dot com
website.
.

Eureka Springs is known by many names: Haven for the State's Eccentrics. The place where misfits fit. The hole in the Bible Belt where the buckle goes through. And then there's our personal favorite: America's Largest Open Air Asylum. Sometimes people ask us, "Is it true that Eureka Springs is a haven for gays & lesbians?" Well, yes. Eureka Springs is also a haven for families, church groups, astrologers, lawyers, artists, musicians, accountants ... we're a diverse community, in every sense of the word.Businesses listed in this section include our favorite resources for alternative healing, alternative spirituality, [homosexual] friendly lodging, commitment [???] ceremony & Holy Union providers, plus businesses who specifically asked to be in this section because they want you to know they are committed to treating ALL people with dignity and respect.

.
RESTORING AMERICA, RESTORING EUREKA SPRINGS

It is not too late. Purge the politicians who bring the obscene on the scene both in Eureka Springs and in America. God save Eureka Springs. God save the Untied States of America.
