The People, the Government, the Bible, and the Mess We’re In Part 3

WARNING: THIS BLOG POST IS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT. IT MAY BE PERCEIVED BY SOME AS ANTI-FEMINISTS, HOMOPHOBIC, ISLAMAPHOBIC, AND/OR BIGOTED.  HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT THE INTENT OF THIS ARTCLE. THE INTENT IS TO SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE.

This is the third of a three part series which I started on Monday.

Many people have said that 2012 is a pivotal year for our nation. I agree. There is no year more critical to America’s future, than 2012. This post offers a plan to correct America’s disrespect for Life, Marriage, and Education, and its blinded foolish acceptance of Debt and Islam, five key areas where America has regressed very badly  … All of these five drifts, trends, or choices are in direct violation of the Constitution, natural and moral law.

AN ACTION PLAN

God Bless America. Do we want to continue to be blessed by Divine Providence? Then we must return to the basics. There are two parts to the plan. One is pointed at the American Christian church, and the other is directed to all Americans.

Christian Americans

As the body of Christ in America, Christians, Pastors, leaders, and the pew occupiers, have a unique and awesome responsibility. We are commanded to live by the two great commandments of scripture. These non-negotiable duties are summarized in the New Testament book of Matthew. You can consider these the first principles of a Christian’s life:

·        To love God and to love our fellow man: 

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40)

How do we do this? First and foremost. we must repent individually from our evil ways, our apathy, including taking responsibility for our past contribution with respect to the nations' mess in the five areas noted above.

In addition, Christians need to lead clean lives, exemplary lives, which honor God and show respect and love to our neighbors. How do we do this? We make it a priority to personally worship God, to pray for ourselves, our families, our neighbors, etc., and to incorporate the Bible into our lives through reading, studying, listening etc. We need to repent of our sins, our apathy, and lack of involvement in our civic responsibilities. We must turn to Divine Providence for guidance and direction.

We must also be good citizens as outlined below.

All Americans

As good citizens of the greatest country in the world we must be involved in our communities. We have the responsibility to defend and preserve our freedoms and rights. What are these freedoms and rights? They include:

·        The first freedoms – freedom of religion, the free exercise of religion; the freedom of speech and the press; freedom to assemble peaceably, and freedom to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution), and

·        The first rights – life, liberty, and property or pursuit of happiness… (outlined in our Declaration of Independence)

We must educate ourselves on the principles and issues upon which the nation was first created. We need to educate ourselves on the non-revisionist history of America.

Then we must become intimately involved in the political process and in our culture, working for and voting for strong conservative candidates in the primaries and in the general election. As our founding fathers did, we must willingly give our time, our talents and our treasure to this cause.

For the nation to survive beyond 2012 we must have a president other than the radical socialist liberal Barack Hussein Obama, or the socialist liberal lite Willard Mitt Romney.

Equally important, we must have more Rand Pauls and Mike Lees in the Senate and more Louie Gohmerts and Jim Jordans in the House.

In many ways the TEA Party Movement exemplifies the recognition of the need to return to the ideals, principles, and values of our Founding Fathers.  Let’s all do our part in 2012 to take the TEA Party Movement to the next level and outdo what was done in 2009 and 2010.

The TEA Party ideology must ‘occupy’ the seats of power in Washington, D.C.  We must reject and replace the RINO John Boehner-Mitch McConnel establishment status quo. They are as bad as the radical hope and change agenda of the liberal Marxist Barack Obama. Both of these political philosophies must be replaced.

Therefore like John Wycliffe before, we face these mighty giants who hate us and who want to repress the movement, freedom, and liberty and want to destroy our country. But like Wycliffe we must totally dedicate ourselves to doing what is right as he and many of America’s forefathers later did, despite the great obstacles that they faced.

Let’s take hold of the challenge and make 2012 the year of real hope and real change takes place in our lives and in how Washington, D.C. will be radically reconstituted in November!

Questions to ask our [Doctors,] Senators and Representative about ObamaCare

This is the eighth in a series of questions about ObamaCare (i.e., Socialized Medicine, Universal Healthcare, Single-Payer Healthcare, Government-Run Healthcare, or Nationalized Healthcare that we conservative and Christian patriots should strongly consider asking our U.S. Representatives and U. S. Senators over the next month, while the Congress is taking its summer recess. If their unnecessary and freedom-robbing healthcare reform, which is being forged and forced on America by the current administration and the current Democrat-controlled Congress is to be stopped, it is through the voices of many Americans – We the People. It’s a priority TEA Party action item.

The questions were developed by Gary Bauer (American Values) and are intended to be used in interactions in our Senators and Representatives during the next 30 days. President Obama has already conceded that there probably won't be a vote on healthcare reform until "the end of September or the middle of October." Don Wildmon of the American Family Association (AFA) encourages his supporters to form groups as part of the process of engaging members of Congress.

8. LOSS OF FREEDOM. The healthcare reform legislation under consideration in the House will eventually force all Americans into a government-approved plan. After a five-year grace period, every new insurance policy will have to comply with government mandates, and any policy changes – "altering co-pays, deductibles, or even switching coverage for this or that drug" – invalidates your previous coverage and forces you to choose a government "qualified" plan. In addition, the House plan mandates coverage for every individual. If you are self-employed or choose not buy insurance for whatever reason, the bill imposes a "healthcare tax" of 2.5% of your income. Question for your Congressmen: Why do you believe bureaucrats can make better decisions than me about what kind of health insurance I should have? And will you guarantee that any healthcare reform bill passed by Congress will always allow me to choose my own doctor?

The following is an editorial written by Virginia Brooks. I believe that the editorial appeared in the Saturday edition of the Ashland Times-Gazette. It exposes many elements of what the alleged President, Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack Obama, and those on the left are implementing or want to implement.

ELECTION FRAUD

"Fraud in Ohio's elections, which our governor and Secretary of State refuse to investigate, is criminal. The Ohio Election Justice Campaign has turned evidence over to Federal Judge Marbly in a lawsuit to bring forth that evidence, to date, nothing has been heard. The job of the Secretary of State is to investigate fraud in elections.

"(Ohio Secretary of State) SOS Jennifer Brunner has had that evidence ballots that were turned over to her are still setting in a warehouse where she has visited approximately one hour since 2004. The OEJC has investigated many ballots and came up with enormous fraud. This only goes to show, the evidence is there if you indeed want to uncover and get the truth out. Budget w h o a s, stopping the runaway federal budget

Fellow blogger Matt posted an article, “Budget Woes” yesterday with a short video of Congressman Ron Paul addressing the U.S. House of Representatives. I was so impressed with the last minute of the 6 minute video that I transcribed it below. I urge you to read that article and listen to Dr. Paul’s speech. The words of Dr. Paul speak for themselves. I surely hope that the pitiful Speaker Pelosi and some of her liberal comrades heard the power and the message of his words.

Day 8 of the John Freshwater Inquisition

Righting First Amendment Wrongs

The John Freshwater contract hearing continued today. See my previous articles and comments regarding this case, including the first seven days of the hearing, which were held last October and restarted on Tuesday of this week.

Today, Kelly Hamilton, Freshwater’s attorney, continued to question Thomas Herlevi, owner of HR on Call, the firm hired by the Mount Vernon Board of Education to investigate allegations against the middle school science teacher. According to MountVernonNews.com, reporter Pam Schehl, special emphasis today was put on information Herlevi found regarding the alleged Tesla coil injury.

To me the big story is what happened outside of the hearing room. It was the Columbus Dispatch editorial that was published today in the midst of the hearing. I will comment on some of what the malicious editor(s) stated.

“A TEACHING MOMENT”

The liberally biased and Columbus based Dispatch newspaper, a big player in the Opposition Media (opposing everything that America has stood for since its founding – its Judeo-Christian roots, its respect for God, its values and virtues in favor of being perfectly politically correct, - according to the most extreme of special interests – including the homosexual advocates, the abortion lobby, the national teachers unions, the ACLU-types, etc) took the opportunity of the John Freshwater “trial” to try to make an example of Freshwater. They have him convicted already, before the hearing has even been completed. This is what they have done all along. It was this yellow journalistic rag that leaked the results of the Investigator's Report to the public even before John Freshwater or his attorneys had an opportunity to review it. They had him convicted back before the “trial” began. Apparently this is their form of Amerikan justice.

The disgraceful Dispatch held Freshwater up as an example of what not to permit to occur in our what amounts to government indoctrination centers, “The unfortunate experience (the Freshwater situation) should be a cautionary lesson to other school districts dealing with teachers whose personal beliefs get in the way of their responsibility to educate: Don't look the other way for years, even if the teacher is well-liked and personable. The mistake was not in firing Freshwater but in waiting so long to do it.”

Are they suggesting personal beliefs be outlawed? Is this Leningrad or Moscow or Havana or Ho Chi Min City? No, it is Mount Vernon, Ohio, USA! Are teachers expected to check there personal faith at the door before they enter the school building? I do not think that that is what our Founders had in mind when they established this nation.

The editorial also fails to mention that Freshwater was an excellent teacher. His students did better than the other Mount Vernon middle school science students on the state tests. This was conveniently overlooked by the very biased, agenda-driven Dispatch. Apparently a gift and a love to teach and motivate kids to higher standards and higher achievement and higher aspirations is no longer necessary or important in 21st century American schools. Here we are driving away a great teacher instead of fostering and encouraging him. What is this telling our teachers?

Another interesting point made by the Columbus Dispatch was their statement that “The complaint of the "branding," brought by one student's parents, was shocking, but it wasn't new to school officials; neither were the complaints about Freshwater's religious comments nor, most important, that he used a science classroom to promote nonscientific, religiously based ideas of creation.” Did you catch that last phrase? Isn’t that precisely what Darwinian Evolution itself is? The Darwinian Theory of Evolution is a flaw-filled theory. It has more weaknesses than strengths. Aren’t you promoting the secular-humanistic religion when you advance that creed? Is it okay to promote one “religion” and not another viewpoint?

The editorial declares, “All public-school students are entitled to education free of religious indoctrination, yet he told students that homosexuality is a sin and declared that some non-Christian religions are false.”

So are the editors of the Dispatch saying that there should be a separation of God from the state? Are they saying that children should be protected from being poisoned by their Creator? Is the Dispatch saying that one type of indoctrination (Marxism, evolutionism, radical environmentalism, feminism) is preferred over sharing of centuries-old truth and principles?

By the way, the Bible, the ultimate authority for man, not John Freshwater, declares homosexual behavior to be sinful. The truth is that homosexual behavior is abnormal, immoral, unnatural, and unhealthy. That may not be politically correct, it may not even be tolerant, but it is truthful! But I guess that is no long the standard we hold forth, now is it?

Newsflash, not everyone who declares themselves to be “Christians” are Christians. There are many apostate Christians. For me anyone who supports, promotes abortion or homosexuality is suspect of not being a true Christian. Again, truth may not matter anymore to some.

Furthermore, I do not buy the Dispatch editors comment that Freshwater “(D)emonstrated disregard for science. . .(and this is one of the major reasons which) . . . . disqualifies him to teach in public schools.” Questioning evolution is NOT disregarding science. It is itself scientific inquiry. It is critical thinking to challenge the status quo. However, in the minds of the Dispatch editors apparently the status quo, in this case, the false theory of evolution, is the only acceptable standard.

I had to laugh (because it is otherwise so heart wrenching and I didn’t want to cry) at the concluding paragraph of the Dispatch editorial, “Other school districts with budding John Freshwaters should take heed. Confronting a popular teacher is controversial, but preserving sound education is essential.” Really? So promoting godless, secular-humanistic Marxist indoctrination is a better way of preserving sound education? I don’t think so.

LESSON LEARNED?

The more the dizzy Dispatch and other supporters of our present failed public schools talk and argue for its continuance. The more they promote its God-free environment. The more ammunition and reason they give parents for seriously considering yanking their children out of those literal hell-holes, destructive dens of iniquity. The time, in fact, is now to do so. The John Freshwater case has also been instructive in pointing out how far our public schools have fallen in terms of what is being taught and what is important to the so-called educators. What they are most concerned about? It seems to me, that it is preserving the status quo – an entrenched failed system itself. Anyone who dares to come up against that system in anyway is a marked man or woman.

What is ultimately at stake here in this case is – freedom to express one’s faith and academic freedom.

Driving on my way home from getting my car fixed this evening I happened to turn on WJR 760 out of Detroit. There was a substitute host interviewing a person from the Discovery Institute. The topic was Academic Freedom. They were discussing the challenge by Darwinians and Neo-Darwinian extremists in Texas who want the teaching of the strengths and weaknesses of the theory of evolution stopped. They want evolution taught as unchallenged fact. Talk about academic freedom!

One recommended website was www.AcademicFreedomPetition.com below is some of the information that you will find there. I signed the petition. I, for one, think that academic freedom is a good thing. People should be encouraged to think critically, not receive unchallenged junk science (evolution, global warming, etc.) presented as fact or as truth, but to be able examine all theories honestly.

This topic of Academic Freedom compliments the Freedom to Express ones faith that is being debated in Mount Vernon, Ohio this week at the John Freshwater contract hearing, where he is challenging his termination. He was fired because he dared to practice his faith on the job and horrors of all horrors insisted on keeping his personal Bible on his classroom desk. There was even a claim that he dared to question the (false) theory of evolution! How about that!

The second phase (Day 3- ) of the Freshwater Termination Hearing continued today.

A Circular Argument?, Or Going Around in Circles!

DAY 6

The Freshwater termination hearing continued for the 5th day today. Day one and two were held earlier this month. The MountVernonNews.com newspaper’s website reported today that another student was called upon to testify. This 17 year old student said that he was also “marked” with a Tesla coil, the electro-static device used by Freshwater and other teachers demonstrating scientific principles. This youth also related that Freshwater related inconsistencies in the theory of evolution and supported alternative explanations to the flawed, yet widely accepted, theory.

DAY 5

The Columbus Dispatch newspaper ran a story on page B3 of today’s paper and on its website regarding what transpired yesterday (Thursday) at the hearing. A science teacher in the Mount Vernon High School testified that she had to “re-teach” (or is it reprogram?) the students who matriculated to high school from middle school and who were taught science by Mr. Freshwater. Odd, because last school year (2007-8) it was previously reported that Mr. Freshwater’s science students finished with the highest scores among the middle school science classes on the standardized state tests. How dare the students think for themselves? What “evil” this Mr. Freshwater must be to have his students thinking critically regarding the flawed unproven theory of evolution! Does the movie expos of academic freedom restrictions rampant on our college campuses, which was recently released on DVD, Expelled, No Intelligence Allowed, ring a (school) bell? That same limitation of academic freedom is apparently present in many of America’s elementary, middle and high schools, as well.

Medical expert testifies at hearing

It sounds to me like this hearing will not end this week, but will be continued next month. It will not continue next week because of attorney schedule conflicts. So I would guess it would be continued until sometime in the middle of the month.

The expense must be mounting on both sides in the case. The attorneys’ fees for 5 days plus preparation and legal experts must be horrendous. All this over a desire to take away a man’s right to have a Bible on his desk and to live out his faith outside the four walls of the stained glass building. Our founding fathers would freak at this freedom fleecing fiasco.

Protect Academic Freedom and Homeschooling Rights

The establishment (both Republicans and Democrats) is constantly trying to force its agenda on the populace in many ways, but it’s done most insidiously through the public education. Anyone who opposes government education programs is labeled as being against helping the poor. HR 4137 is the latest attempt at giving federal government even more control schools and this time they want to tighten their grip on colleges. This bill would be another step towards total control of government over the colleges, allowing no academic freedom whatsoever. This will be a purging of ideas deemed “dangerous” by the intellectual elite. Professors will not only be under the microscope of school administrators, such as those mentioned in Ben Stein’s No Intelligence Allowed, but now the very (federal) government itself will start closely examining the content of classroom lectures and materials on everything from quarks to world history to make sure that it is in line with official government “truth”. Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008)

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, the movie, opened yesterday across America. I watched the last showing of the day with friends in Findley, Ohio. It was an extremely thoughtful and thought-provoking film. It was a documentary in format. It captured both comedian Ben Stein’s striking search for truth and academic and scientific freedom. It also documented big science, the main stream media, government agencies, and the academia elites' frightening fear of the truth on this nation’s campuses and research labs. These two opposing worldviews or approaches served as themes, central core or message of the movie.

Expelled is essentially an exposé on the current state of affairs of the lack of academic freedom and the pronounced bias that is rampant in science, schools and government agencies in 2008. Political correctness trumps the uninhibited and open pursuit of the truth in many if not all disciplines, especially “science.”

What is happening in America has happened elsewhere, Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union are two forerunners. Silencing and rejecting the truth despite the facts are the modus operandi. Here are some key questions illustrative of the dilemma we are faced with today. Why can’t there be an open dialogue regarding the origin of life? Why can’t the topic of intelligent design be even broached without danger of loss of one’s job, tenure and/or reputation? Evolution is a mere theory and a very flawed one at that, so why must it be the foundation for all scientific research and academic thought? Why would more credence be given to an extraterrestrial life forms birthing life on earth than recognition of a Creator?

Some of these questions are raised in this serious study of the sad state of affairs in so-called science and academia today. The movie movingly portrays the complicity of the academia, the media and the courts in establishing and supporting the current severe academic restrictions on thought and expression. Our colleges are gulags instead of the freedom factories, which they deceptively tout themselves to be. This imprisonment and censorship of ideas may be one of the reasons for our second-class status when it comes to much of what is pawned off as “education” today.

Expelled does make you think. It compares this issue of what is going on in our schools and institutions to the restrictions and invisible shackles placed on blacks which necessitated and birthed the civil rights movement. Blacks were not free to pursue their dreams. Likewise, today, scientists, professors and teachers are not free to pursue certain politically incorrect avenues of study or research. They are actually censored and discriminated against when they do pursue their dreams or the truth. Expelled concludes that the issue of present-day academic imprisonment is also a matter of rights and freedom that now needs to also be overcome.

RATING

Expelled has pure entertainment value. However, it is not a feel-good, brainless feature. It also dares to educate the viewer to one of the basic hindrances to the pursuit of excellence and truth in America. It shows the damage that the institutionalization of intellectual dishonesty and political correctness causes at the expense of a free and open pursuit of the truth has on America.

I rate the movie a ***** out of *****. It is an honest, professional, sincere, accurate and well-documented pursuit of the truth. Expelled does a fine job presenting both sides of this debate. It is meant to inform and to challenge the thinking of every American who loves this country and is interested in preserving its greatness, which is embodied in its freedoms. I urge you to see this outstanding movie, bring your family and friends to it, and/or tell your friends about it.
