This blog post is the second of a series of articles which attempts to show the direct correlation and interrelationship between the principles and precepts found in the Judeo-Christian Bible and the American people and the American government. It also attempts to explain why we are in a state of crisis on so many fronts.
Without adherence to the sound foundation that our founding fathers established in America, since the earliest days of the New England settlements, we will continue to drift into mediocrity and eventual annihilation.
Today we will explore five areas – Debt, Marriage, Life, Islamism, and Education - in which we have deviated, nearly abandoning all sound reason, principles, morality, and philosophy.
DISTURBINGLY DESTRUCTIVE DEBT
First, we are horribly in debt over our heads as individuals and as a nation. This violates commonsense, sound economic policy, and more importantly God’s standard as clearly indicated below:
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7
Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Romans 18:8
MALICIOUSLY MALIGNING MARRIAGE
Second, our national government and the far left elements of our society seek to disrespect, to denigrate, and to redefine marriage to mean something it is not. To do so disregards the clear mandate of God:
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder (separate). Mark 10:6-9
LOSING LOVE OF LIFE
Third, we have failed to uphold the basic tenant that all human life is sacred. Many who are in government, and those who are in positions of power throughout society, especially those who are on the political left, all seemingly reject the uniqueness and preciousness of life. Human life apparently is subservient to what the elite ‘enlightened’ feel is important – the air, trees, critters, their own power and control.
The majority of Americans believe that life is sacred from the moment of conception until natural death. However, despite this fact, our government, our courts, and our politicians choose to ignore what the majority knows is right, and reject God’s clear instruction regarding human personhood. What we have is a clear, wanton violation of His Law and nature’s law:
For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was (bones were) not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Psalm 139:13-15
IGNORNING ISLAMISM
The fourth area where we have failed to stick to standards that have stood our country so well for so long is that we are allowing the Islamic system to achieve a foothold in our culture. We ignore the distinct threat of Islam to the American democratic republic form of government.
You see Islam is not your typical religion. No, it is much more. From its inception it has been a system. That system consists of elements of political, militaristic, and cultural under a deceptive cloak or cover of religiosity. Like communism, it is at its core an insidious, evil force that wants to control, to dominate, and to subjugate the world.
Looking just at the religious aspect of Islam, there is much to support the assertion that it is a false religion. Islam claims that Jesus Christ was a mere prophet and not the Son of God, not God. Islam denies the deity and the redemptive work of Jesus. It rejects the claim of the Judeo-Christian Bible that Jesus died for mankind, enabling man to be reconciled to a Holy God.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Since the earliest settlers of America and through our founding history we have been a Christian nation. We have continued to be a majority Christian nation, despite what the current occupier of the White House claims to the contrary. Our founding documents and our very governmental structure are based on proven biblical principles. We see an erosion of those principles, which are far worse than any environmental damage man may be doing to our planet.
ERRONEOUS EDUCATION
We have rejected the moral and religious education, which benefited previous generations. We have substituted a godless, pagan, secular humanistic philosophy for God’s philosophy. How is that working out for us?
Our education system is an abject failure, despite the exorbitant amounts of money we continuously pour into it, trying to quench the insatiable demand of the academic elite for more and more. The more money we give the education system the worse the results become. Instead of helping improve our education system, organizations like the ACLU, the NEA and AFT seek to advance their corrupt political agenda with no regard for true quality and virtuous education of our children.
What happened to this simple truth?
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
What happen to the standard of moral, wholesomeness, practical, excellence in education?
WHAT NOW?
These five areas exemplify what happens when a society rejects God and His clear guidelines for living. America has chosen to go away from, instead of going with God. That is the reason we see day by day the destructive consequences of taking that path.
Tomorrow we will look at an action plan that seeks to turn things around. Many people have said that 2012 is a pivotal year. There are none more critical to America’s future.
