Restore Honor Rally, First Hand Account

We were in the trees, the closest we could get
to the Lincoln Memorial

I attended Glenn Beck’s Restore Honor Rally on Saturday in Washington, D.C.

Here is the transcript of a telephone interview I had with gregjaye after I returned from my trip from Ohio to Washington, D.C. this weekend.

gj: Why did you go to Glenn Beck’s Restore Honor rally on Saturday?

Sam: One reason that I went was that my elderly friend really wanted to go. I felt that he needed someone to go along with him in case he needed help. It was good my brother and I went because just the walk from the Metro train to the Lincoln Memorial was over a mile and ½. We had brought folding chairs that gave my friend a chance to rest periodically.

I believe in what Glenn Beck is doing. The United States has turned away from God and Jesus Christ. We need to restore honor, integrity, justice, and freedom to America.

gj: What was your expectation of the event?

Sam: That my friend would be okay.

gj: Estimates of the crowd ranged from “Thousands” to “500,000”? Was any attendance estimate announced? Where you ever in such a large gathering?

Sam: The crowd was definitely closer to 500,000 figure. The announced attendance was 370,000. This is the largest event that I ever attended in my life. I knew it was going to be big when our bus pulled into the first rest stop going into Pennsylvania from Ohio and there were a dozen buses there. Our bus driver left the bus, returned, and took off. There was no way to contend with the bathroom lines at this rest area.

gj: What did you learn from the event? What was something you took from the event?

Sam: Glenn Beck is on the right track. Although he may not be a Christian himself, he has many people around him and with whom he associates that are. There were all ages in attendance. I did see a few blacks and Hispanic people, but not many. I saw no signs of Al Sharpton and his gang of protesters.

gj: What was going through your mind as you were standing there during the rally?

Sam: Actually we were sitting among the trees about 150 feet or more from the reflecting pool. Having arrived at the Rally at around 9:00 AM that was the closest we could get. Being among the trees we could not hear the speakers very clearly. What little I did hear was a recognition of Jesus Christ as Creator and King of the earth. I felt that the rally honored God and our military. Glenn Beck should be commended for his efforts, not condemned and maligned by Sharpton and most of malignant media.

gj: Did the rally motivate you to do something? If so, what was it you will do?

Sam: By going to the rally itself we showed support for Glenn Beck and what he was doing both at the rally and on his various shows.

WSJ Editorial: The 1.6% Recovery

The results of the Obama economic experiment are coming in.

Summer of Continued Economic Collapse?

Here is an excerpt from the Weekend Wall Street Journal editorial on page A12:

“To no one’s surprise except perhaps Vice President Joe Biden’s, second quarter economic growth was revised down from the prior estimate of 2.4%, which was down from first quarter growth of 3.7% which was down from the 2009 fourth quarter’s 5%. Economic recoveries are supposed to go in the other direction …

“If prosperity were a function of government stimulus, our economy should be booming. The Fed has kept interest rates at near-zero for nearly two years, while Congress has flooded the economy with trillions of dollars in

· spending

· loan guarantees,

· $8,000 tax credits for housing

· “cash for clunkers,”

and so much more. Never before has government tried to do so much and achieved so little

“To borrow a phrase, maybe it’s time for a change.”

Yes it is WSJ, it is time to REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER. Remember TARP, Cap and Trade, Funding for Abortion, Healthcare, Financial ‘reform’ and Comprehensive Immigration ‘Reform.’ Remember that it was the controversial and increasingly unpopular President Barry Soetoro alias Barack Obama and his cohorts in Congress who feed the economic collapse.

Unemploy Congress!

“New jobless claims just rose to 500,000, the highest increase in nine months.

“The good news is that this number is expected to rise with the wave of unemployed Democrat politicians come this November.”

Restore Honor Rally, Washington, D.C. 8/28/10

Hat tip goes to mikepfs who retweeted (RT) a link to the amazing photos of Glenn Beck's Restore Honor Rally earlier today in Washington, D.C. at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. How will the government controlled media (NBC,CBS, ABC, PBS, CNN, NewsWeek, NY Times, et al) report this important event? It is very likely that they will ignore it. They may just pretend that it did not occur. Maybe they will describe it as, "A rally of radical right-wing racists." Seems like they are more interested with the take of pro-government, race-baiting, PR hound Al Sharpton opinions than the 1/2 million in attendance at the rally..

Friend & fellow blogger, Sam, attended the rally, and I can't wait to hear his impression of the event. Also, I just wonder what our controversial and increasingly unpopular President, Barry Soetoro alias Barack Obama, makes of this awesome patriotic display? After all, is it not a clear repudiation of all that this man has stood for and has done the last two plus years?

I Want Your Money (2010) movie trailer...

Hat tip goes to HollywoodRepub, who posted this link on his most recent tweet.

Here is a description of the video embedded below

”… Set against the backdrop of today's headline - 67% of Americans don't approve of Obama's economic policies, the film takes a provocative look at our deeply depressed economy using the words and actions of Presidents Reagan and Obama and shows the marked contrast between Reaganomics and Obamanomics. The film contrasts two views of the role that the federal government should play in our daily lives using the words and actions of Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama.
"Two versions of the American dream now stand in sharp contrast. One views the money you earned as yours and best allocated by you; the other believes that the elite in Washington know how to best allocate your wealth. One champions the traditional American dream, which has played out millions of times through generations of Americans, of improving one's lot in life and even daring to dream and build big. The other holds that there is no end to the "good" the government can do by taking and spending other peoples' money in an ever-burgeoning list of programs. The documentary film I Want Your Money exposes the high cost in lost freedom and in lost opportunity to support a Leviathan-like bureaucratic state.

Looks like the timing of this film is just right, in time to motivate people to REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER … remember those in Congress who supported and voted for TARP, the Stimulus, ObamaCare …

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

VOTE CONSERVATIVE!

Franklin Graham's Views on Obama's Faith and the Islam Faith

Comments anyone?  Analysis?

Sherriff Mack: Constitutionalist and Brave American Hero

The Wicked Witch of the Left

John Dennis, having won the Republican primary, is set to face off against Nancy Pelosi for California's 8th congressional district seat. Dennis is a Ron Paul type Republican, but I don't know yet what is positions are on social issues, so I don't know yet if I'm going to endorse him. But I just had to post the following Dennis ad because its so funny.  Enjoy...
Is Pelosi auditioning for a remake of the Wizard of Oz?
[IMG] Wicked
We are clearly being governed by people with the emotional maturity of children. Thankfully, tomorrow marks the anniversary of the release of one of America’s most beloved children’s classics, the Wizard of Oz.

Here at the John Dennis for Congress campaign, we wondered, "what if Nancy Pelosi was auditioning as the star of a remake?" --- but let's call it Wicked Witch of the Left.
Defeat Pelosi -> TODAY!
We certainly can't dump buckets of water on Pelosi to defeat her. Fortunately, we have a better idea!

Make a contribution to the John Dennis for Congress campaign!
[IMG] Donate

John Dennis is the only person actually RUNNING against Pelosi this November.  With your help we can send Pelosi to an early retirement.
The Wicked Witch of the Left melts when exposed to water --- in this case, the polls. Her poll numbers have never been more dismal.
In the Wizard of Oz, the Witch attempts to persuade good Kansas girl Dorothy to give her theruby slippers with the command, “Give me back my slippers! I’m the only one that knows how to use them. They’re no use to you.”
Similarly, Nancy Pelosi is convinced that only she and her Washington friends are best suited to use Congressional power.
But just as in the Wizard of Oz, there is hope.
John Dennis can end the reign of this Wicked Witch by breaking her hold on Washington power politics forever --- if enough people rally to eliminate her and her little seat.
If Nancy Pelosi only had a brain, she’d be more afraid, and if she only had a heart, she might not need to be.
Americans everywhere can’t rest... until her power is positively, absolutely, undeniably and reliably dead.

Although you can't throw a bucket of water on Pelosi, you can make a donation to our campaign today to help us defeat Pelosi!

Collins Bailey for Congress

I again endorse Collins Bailey for Congress.  Below is a URL of a post in which I endorsed him in the 2008 general election, in which he lost to the incumbent Steny Hoyer.  This time he has opponents in the Republican primary which takes place on September 14.

To summarize, he supports:
  • protecting traditional marriage through a Constitutional amendment
  • stopping pro-abortion activist judges through the use of the Exceptions Clause
  • protecting the environment by enforcing private rights and stopping government projects which pollute
  • the right to bear arms
  • withdrawing from unfair, sovereignty-killing, corporatist trade agreements
  • cutting income taxes, raising the standard exemption to $15,000 and then eliminating income taxes altogether
  • repeal No Child Left Behind and get the federal government out education completely
  • stopping socialized healthcare
  • protecting social security by establishing individual accounts for each American
  • withdrawing forces from Iraq and never again going to war without just cause and a full declaration of war
  • stopping the bailouts
  • term limits
  • secure the borders, no amnesty, make it easier for people to immigrate into the U.S. legally

My Brother’s Keeper

(The above video is for illustration purposes only.  I did not endorse John McCain and do not endorse him in his current bid for reelection to the Senate.)

Ever since Barack Obama gave a speech in which he said, “I am my brother’s keeper,” I’ve been hearing this phrase used more and more.  I have even heard it used in a Christian song (which otherwise has a good message).  People seem to have a vague notion that this phrase comes from the Bible and the increased usage of it has been positive.  (In other words they think that being your brother’s keeper is a good thing.)

The Bible records in Genesis 4:9 that Cain did in fact say, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” in reference to his brother Abel after he had murdered him.  But does that in fact, mean that being your “brother’s keeper” is good thing?  Let’s take a closer look.

In Genesis 4:2 it says that Abel was keeper of sheep.  In other words, if you are a “keeper” of something (i.e. a flock) means that you have been given authority over it and are responsible for protecting it from harm.  The relationship between the keeper and the thing being kept is like the relationship between a man and his animals.

Cain’s response, in light of this reasoning, can now be seen for what it is.  Cain was mocking God’s question, “Where is Abel thy brother?” (Genesis 4:9) as if the only reason to expect that he would know Abel’s current location was if he had been personally responsible for the well being of his brother.  We all know how that turned out.

Now you can see what Obama really means.  He wants you to think that you are personally responsible for your neighbor’s behavior.  He wants you to make sure that your neighbor buys the health insurance policy that he thinks everyone should buy.  He wants you to spy on your neighbors and turn them into the authorities if they are not using the right kind of light bulbs.  He wants to make sure you pay over half your income to the government so that the money can be used to pay off the contributors to his campaign and the campaigns of others who support his policies.  You don’t have to worry about making any wrong decisions.  Obama (and his faithful minions) will be there to protect you.  We are all like animals to him.

But if you are a believer in the God of the Bible, there is One who is your Keeper.  He is Jesus Christ.  He said,
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers...I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:2-5, 11 (KJV)
The difference between Jesus and Obama is clear.  Jesus has the authority to be our Shepherd (or “Keeper”) because he is the Only Begotten Son of God and He died on the cross for our sins.  Obama is setting himself up to be our “keeper”, but there is nothing in the Bible which gives him this authority and he has not laid down his life for the sake of the sheep.  The President of the United States is supposed be our Commander in Chief, and has the responsibility to protect the lives of Americans when called upon to do so by Congress through a formal declaration of war.  When the Presidency was established, the authority that was given to it was given by the People.  Thus, the President is supposed to be our servant, not our master.  Obama is the stranger pretending to be the Shepherd.  The sheep of Christ do not follow him because they do not recognize his voice.  That’s the difference.

The Real Mosque Issues

IIt’s time for me to comment on this so called ground-zero Mosque issue.  It’s a red herring.  Its being used stir up controversy to divert everyone's attention from the real issues.  Here are the facts:

1.   There is no legal basis for stopping the building of Mosque.  To do so would violate the first amendment right to free exercise of religion.  This would set a precedent which could be used against Christians.  Islam is a damnable heresy which should be opposed peaceably, persuasively, spiritually and lovingly, not by force.  If Bible and the power of God are on our side, we don’t need to use force or violate the Constitution.
2.  There have already been Mosques built in the area, some almost as close as the purposed site as this one.
3.  There is a strip club even closer to ground zero.  (Where is the outrage for that?)
4.  This idea of being offended by a Mosque built on this particular site is the equivalent of Muslims being offended by a cartoon drawing of Mohammed.  Get over it!  There is no exception to freedom of speech or free exercise of religion if it offends you!
4.  The Rockefellers have provided some of the funding for this project.  These are globalists who want to divert the attention of conservatives away from more important issues and set conservatives and libertarians against each other.
5.  While the Muslims wanting to build this Mosque have spent their own money and have legally acquired the property on which it is to be built (which they have every right to do), the Imam who is the leader of this effort to build the Mosque has done something else which actually is illegal.  Both President Bush and President Obama used taxpayers’ money to send Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf around the world to speak in support of Islam.  This is a clear violation of the first and tenth amendments!  Why aren’t you more outraged about this?
6.  We need to be devoting our efforts into capturing the real Muslim terrorists (the Al Qaeda organization) and stop killing Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan who didn’t commit any crimes against Americans.  There were only a few hundred Al Qaeda when the 3000 Americans died in the September 11th attacks and none of them were in Iraq at the time.  The Al Qaeda in Afghanistan were outsiders, not supported by the Afghan government or its people.  But we have killed hundreds of thousands Muslims who have committed no crimes against any American.  (And yet we still haven't caught Osama Bin Laden!  Why aren't you more outraged about that?)  We have not followed the Biblical principle of “an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, life for life” (which, by the way, Jesus did NOT do away with--many have twisted that passage).

As a side note, Glen Beck is moron for calling the Imam “a good Muslim” and saying that we can achieve some kind of unity of religions.  Most people do not know that Glen Beck is a Mormon and that the Mormons are being taught that they are supposed to unite all religions into one.

Another Major Reason to Secure the Border in AZ et al

Hat tip goes to Twitter First_Patriots whose tweet included a link to the video embedded below. The following is from the description that accompanied the YouTube video.

http://www.StandWithArizona.com The Mexican Mafia has given a "green light" to take out Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu. A "green light" indicates that the assassin given the order must complete the murder or he will be killed himself, as will his family.

"I understand this threat, yet I will not run in fear or change my support for SB1070 and my demands for President Obama to secure our border with 3,000 armed soldiers in Arizona and start building the fence again. I'm always armed and as every law enforcement member knows, we always have to be aware of our surroundings and possible threats," he said.

Both major parties under the leadership of the Bushes, Clinton, and now Soetoro aka Obama are all guilty of dereliction of duty when it comes to border security and enforcing our immigration laws. If this Sheriff is murdered his blood is on the hands of the current occupier of the White House and his cronies in Congress. Enough is enough. Do something, do nothing Congress! Or you will be fired in November.

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER Congressional neglect of not securing our borders. Let's have no talk of Amnesty or Comprehensive Immigration 'Reform' or any such nonsense until the borders are secured and existing laws are enforced to the jot and tittle.

AZ: A Quayle of a Victory & the Pain of a McCain Victory

Ben Quayle, son of the media much media maligned and mistreated conservative former Vice President Dan Quayle won a close victory (a total of eight candidates) in the 3rd Congressional race in Arizona.

This somewhat offsets the John McCain purchase of the Senate seat for $21 million in AZ last night.

McCain, a regular RINO, is a convenient conservative. He wears that moniker only prior to an election then reverts to his true liberal leaning ways. It's simply disgusting that such a man was the Republican nominee for President and now is virtually assured of election for another six disruptive, contentious, unreliable years in the Senate. He is more of a thorn in the side of the GOP, than a solid or reliable conservative vote. As I told on Republican Senate Committee telemarketer, McCain is one of the prime reasons that I would not contribute to their effort. Not a single cent should be spent on behalf of such a ‘maverick.’ Let the Democratic Party support him, because more often then not he supports them … It is shameful that the Arizona public was once again hoodwinked by this career polutician.

Back to Quayle victory, which may prove to be the more important of Arizonan's victories. Below is a video from a TV newscast of last night’s coverage of his victory.

Big Primary Election Today from AK to AZ

In Alaska I would love to see challenger Joe Miller beat down the incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski, who is no conservative. Sarah Palin endorses Joe Miller. I think Miller has a good chance in this race.

In Arizona I would like to see either J.D. Hayworth or Jim Deakin upset incumbent Senator John McCain in the Republican primary election. Palin endorses McCain, proving she is very fallible.

Murkowski and McCain are symptomatic of all that is wrong with the Republican Party - its left wing. Murkowski and McCain are symptomatic of all that is wrong with the Republican wing Party. Neither are consistent conservatives, nor adhere to conservative principles. On many issues they are essentially Democrats.

Is the President a Christian, a Muslim, or something else?

The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch runs a regular feature in its newspaper identifying an important issue to the local community and asking the vote of the readers on that issue along with any comments they may have. Occasionally I will respond and comment on the issue raised, as I did in regard to last Friday’s topic.

The Hot Issue, Friday, August 20, 2010:

Does religious affiliation affect how a president does his job?

My Response:

Yes, absolutely, what matters is a person’s core belief system, worldview, and the philosophical orientation.
Frankly, we do not know what this president’s religious affiliation is. He said, for political expediency, that he is a Christian. He says for purposes of appeasement and acceptance when in front of Muslims, that he has a close and positive appreciation of Islam. Actually, I believe he is neither. He is an atheist, a secular humanist. That is his true religious belief or affiliation.

What I have observed of this president is that he is prone to avoid the truth in almost all situations. Why would a Christian or Muslim support abortion or the homosexual agenda? A secular humanist does grasp those positions. Why would a Christian violate the biblical principle of enslaving his nation into debt? A secular humanist would agree with the Keynesian economic principles more than supply-side economics.

Almost all of the initiatives put forth by the president prior to his election and since point to a fundamentally socialistic, Marxist or communistic orientation or set of principles and beliefs that seem to govern all of his policies, legislative initiatives and actions.

What is the top problem facing the USA?

America's Chief Problem: Her Commander-in-Chief

“A recent Gallop Poll shows Americans think the economy and unemployment are the top two problems facing this country.

“But that is only because the poll failed to list President (Barry Soetoro aka Barack) Obama as a choice!”

In Tribute to Mom

Helen Kindig was at Forest Lawn Mausoleum and Cemetery when she was fourteen years of age. While there, she observed a statue of Jesus as a butterfly lighted on the statue. “How wonderful,” she thought. It reminded her of when the Spirit of God descended on Jesus like a dove after He was baptized by John in the Jordan River. She went home and knelt by a chair, repented of her sins, and invited Jesus into her heart. Just then the first broadcast of “The Haven of Rest” came on the radio.

She later got married to a godly man and changed her last name to Keiser. Her father asked their pastor Dr. Louis S. Bauman what kind of people the Keiser family were. He knew them when he lived in Ohio before moving to California. He said, “They are the salt of the earth.”

She wanted her children to know the same Jesus she had come to know and love. She wanted them to have eternal life and go to heaven. So she made sure all of her children went to Sunday school, church, and Vacation Bible School. And she lived a godly life in front of her family and friends and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Her favorite song was “My Jesus I love thee, I know thou art mine.” These words are inscribed on her tombstone. She knew that without Jesus a person would be tormented by fire forever. She cried bitterly when Mary Kindig, her sister-in-law, died. For Mary was an atheist. She didn’t want that same destiny for her descendants.

There’s no doubt that Helen Keiser went to heaven when she died. This is because for a Christian “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Solomon wrote that the living should remember that death is waiting for us all. The question is, “Do you have eternal life and are you going to heaven?”

If you want eternal life and to go to heaven, you can repent of your sin and invite Jesus into your heart right where you are today. A sample prayer is, “Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my evil and come into my heart.

Jesus said, “Whoever comes to me I will in nowise cast out.” “For all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Pink Slip Lisa Murkowski (RINO-AK), Next Tuesday, August 24th!

Hat tip goes to the Tea Party Express for the following information on an important primary election in Alaska next week:

“A brand new poll by RT Nielson research shows that the critical U.S. Senate race between Conservative Republican Joe Miller and Liberal incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski has dramatically tightened as the conservative candidate, Joe Miller, has gained 25% on his rival.

“Three weeks ago this race looked to be a lock for Sen. Murkowski as she led 62%-24%. Now that margin is down to 46.91%-35.39%. Murkowski is below the critical 50% threshold an incumbent needs for re-election and she is continuing to drop.

“This race takes place in just 4 days - and we have a chance for a shocking historic victory for the tea party movement and the constitutionalist conservative candidate, Joe Miller. This election is VITAL to stopping the Democrats from maintaining control of the Senate - right now they can use Democrat votes plus those of Liberal Republicans such as Murkowski, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe to hold power. If Murkowski loses that all changes.

Support Joe Miller, Murkowski’s conservative Republican opponent by making an on-line contribution HERE.

You can read more at the AlaskanStandard.com, which has an article about the Alaskan race titled, "Lisa Murkowski not a part of the Tea Party revolution."
