Unplanned (2019), Coming Face-to-Face with the Abortion Reality

The Unplanned (2019) movie continues in theaters around the country. In the Mansfield, Ohio area, for example, Unplanned is playing in its fourth week. If you haven’t seen Unplanned or if you are hesitant about seeing it, don’t be! There is much to learn about the abortion issue in this film, no matter what side of the abortion debate you are currently on, pro- or anti-abortion.

The panel discussed the movie Unplanned, abortion, the highly criticized Planned Parenthood and Kermit Gosnell, the convicted and incarcerated abortionist and criminal.

Besides an intense and thorough discussion on Unplanned, there were comments on the podcast about two additional movies, one another feature film, Gosnell, The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer, and the other a related documentary, 3801 Lancaster, An American Tragedy, which explored more of the insidious Gosnell story.

When all is said and done the movie opens the door wide for a behind the scenes look into the local abortion provider operation and exposes the depth of deceit, destruction and depravity that occurs there on a day-by-day basis. And this is all done in the name of “Choice,” and “Women’s Reproductive Rights” and “Equality."

The movie is primary about a 10-year period in the life of Abby Johnson. She grew from a naïve college student to a pro-life activist by means of a stint as an executive director of one of Planned Parenthood's abortion facilities. It is a true and remarkable story.

Although I do not agree with neither the movie's nor the radio's panel's inaccurate portrayal of all abolitionists, those who show photos of aborted babies, overall the movie was great in that it provided a behind-the-curtain look at the stark reality of the horrific, inhumane and bloodthirsty industry.

Instead of the R-rating that was given to this movie, I would rate it "must-see" for every adult and teenager.

What Does the Bible Say About Abortion?

There have been a lot of comments to the radical leftist Alternet.org article, “There's Nothing About Abortion in the Bible -- So How Do Right-Wing Christians Justify Their Crusade Against Women? The modern religious right is trying to bring back the Bible's teaching that women are inferior and should be the possessions of men.” I joined the ‘discussion’ and here is one of my comments:
 
The person growing inside of the pregnant woman IS a person. A person is a person no matter how small! Deny the truth if you will, but truth if accepted and acknowledged, will set you free...

Early on during his or her life the baby feels pain, it responds to stimuli, it moves, it feels. How do you know he does not perceive his environment? How do you know it is not learning? How do you know it is not hearing? What makes you think that it is not conscious? 

Actually as every human being, including the pre-born child has a fallen nature. It is prone to evil once it arrives in the world and is mature enough to choose good or evil. The baby is innocent from the standpoint that it has never been given the opportunity to choose good or evil. Also in a rape the pre-born baby is clearly the victim of a crime. It is the perpetrator of the crime whose life should be taken, not the child who has never had any opportunity to make good or bad choices...
 
It is ludicrous to compare a baby with a kidney or any body part! You deny reality and truth and science when you refuse to acknowledge that the pre-born baby is a unique person, a dependent human being! There are three people involved in a pregnancy, the father, the mother and the baby...

Right now there is no punishment for having an abortion. The depraved and bigoted SCOTUS took upon itself the role of God when it ruled to make the immoral, godless, decision to allow abortion. 

The punishment women get now - in more cases than the Left is willing to admit - by merely getting an abortion is a life of remorse, possible physical problems like infertility, guilt, emptiness, depression… This in and of itself is punishment. But the abortion industry like the Planned Parenthood Federation of America regrettably hide the facts of the negative aspects of abortion from the mothers in order to fill their blood stained coffers... that is reality...Wake Up America...

Million Dollar Baby (2006)

This Million Dollar Baby movie is not about the profits made by killing of millions of babies by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America or even about a baby inheriting a million dollars. No, it’s about justifying the murder of the disabled and chronically ill.

Most of this 132 minute film is about the raw determination and courage of a woman trying to accomplish her dream to be a champion boxer. Her whole life was focused on this one pursuit. Two of my favorite actors, Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman did a great job of acting as usual. Eastwood played a crusty old boxing trainer, who begrudgingly works with a 30 something female boxer. He trains her into a first class fighter. She works her way to the big fight. In that fight she suffers a severe injury, which causes her to be completely paralyzed including kept alive by means of a respirator.

I was impressed with most of the movie, maybe the first 110 minutes or so, but was extremely disappointed with the ending, the attempted suicide and the eventual murder of a paralyzed athlete, who was the victim of dirty opponent.

The movie seemed to lead to the justification of murder and suicide. It is never the right thing to do, to play God. Really, I could accept the idea of either not turning on the artificial breathing machine or turning it off at some point, but to actively attempt suicide and then to ask a friend to put you to death is another story.

RATING

The acting and the plot I would rate as **** out of *****. But give the movie no stars for the lack of morality portrayed by how the movie ended, its final solution. Overall, then the movie would get a ** out of ***** rating. I would not recommend watching, buying or renting this movie.

COMPARISON WITH GRAN TORINO

I watched another of Clint Eastwood’s flicks again, that being Gran Torino (2008), which I reviewed earlier. That movie depicted a dying man, in order to bust a gang menacing his neighborhood and assaulting his neighbors, sacrificing his life for his friends. That is a more moral and a much more worthy way to die.

CONCLUSION

The movie, Million Dollar Baby, does force you to examine the ethical end of life issues and gives you one side, and I believe the wrong side, of the issue.
