Whoa!: REINing in government regulationS

THE "REINS ACT": REGULATIONS FROM THE EXECUTIVE IN NEED OF SCRUTINY

The “REINS Act,” is an initiative, introduced in the House last week by U.S. Representative Geoff Davis, which will help to streamline our government and definitely make these federal agencies more accountable for their budgets and activities.

In describing the justification for the REINS bill, here is an editorial written by a co-sponsor Congressman J. Randy Forbes which elaborates on the importance bill. In my opinion this bill will go a long way in reducing unnecessary and wasteful government spending, as well as giving agencies more Congressional direction and oversight.

Balancing the Rules
By Congressman Randy Forbes, January 28, 2011

It’s the light bulb in your local Martin’s or Farm Fresh. It’s the refrigerator in the little bakery down the street. It’s the plant food used at the nursery where you stop each spring to buy supplies for your garden. It’s the water hose you use to do your at-home car wash. It’s the shampoo you buy when you visit the salon.

As Americans, we come in contact with hundreds of items in our daily lives that are subject to federal regulations. In fact, it is nearly impossible to leave for work each morning without coming in contact with objects that are federally regulated: the bread you toast, the toaster you toast it with, the electrical socket you plug the toaster into, the car you sit in, the seatbelt you wear in the car…

Not all regulations are bad, nor are all regulations completely inconsistent with free-market principles. The ability for the federal government to set parameters for the basic protection of American citizens is important. We see this with over-the-counter and prescription drugs, with anti-fraud measures, and for the preservation of our natural resources as seen most recently with the BP oil spill. However, there has to be some level of examination to ensure the federal government is not overstepping its bounds. Also, there is a cost associated with each regulation – both to our economy and our pocketbooks – and Americans deserve to know that the costs are justifiable in terms of the benefit they provide.

In 2010, unelected bureaucrats in Washington issued 95 new “major” regulatory rules that cost our economy billions of dollars by imposing them on businesses, families, and local governments. These 95 “major rules” had an economic effect of over $100 million each, and they do not include the thousands of regulations that were imposed that are not considered “major rules.” In fact, the General Accountability Office (GAO) reports that in the four fiscal years from 1996 to 1999, a total of 15,286 new federal regulations went into effect. Nearly all of these regulations are done via rule-making rather than democratic consent.

Here’s how: every year, federal agencies issue thousands of regulations impacting all areas of the United States economy. The regulations are legally binding, but Congress never has to vote on them or approve them. These regulations can be on anything from restricting certain light bulbs to requiring certain heaters or roofs to changing how an industry compensates their employees. They come from unelected bureaucrats in federal agencies.
This bureaucratic “rule-making” is a part of a disturbing trend in Washington. The regulations span from attempts to control the Internet, to the environment, to the financial industry, to healthcare and just about any product, service or industry in our country. The barrage of regulations has caused consumer costs to rise and businesses to become reluctant to invest or grow. According to a report released by the Small Business Administration, total regulatory costs amount to about $1.75 trillion annually, nearly twice as much as all individual income taxes collected last year. Had every U.S. household paid an equal share of the federal regulatory burden, each would have owed $15,586 in 2008.
Most recently, we have seen this bureaucratic rule-making with major financial and healthcare legislation. For example, the non-partisan Congressional Research Service reports that the new healthcare law “gives federal agencies substantial responsibility and authority to ‘fill in the details’ of the legislation through subsequent regulations.”
The Constitution has given Congress the duty to make laws, not to pass fuzzy ideas off to federal bureaucrats to interpret how the laws should look or to “fill in the details” with regulations. Over the past several years, Congress has shown disregard for its Constitutional duty by allowing the executive branch to fill in important details of legislation after it is passed. Likewise, the executive branch has been quick to overstep its authority to use the rulemaking process to circumvent the will of the people. One of the reasons the Constitution gives the lawmaking, or rulemaking, duty specifically to Congress is because representatives are held directly accountable for their actions by the people that they represent.
The Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act would do just what it says: rein in the costly overreach of federal agencies that stifles job creation and hinders economic growth. Members of Congress should never have an option to avoid responsibility for the effects of the laws they pass. The bill ensures the responsibility for Congressional decisions is placed on representatives in Congress, as was intended by our founders.

Help Israel by signing this UN petition

I became aware, recently, through the CHPP that Rabbi Jonathan Berris, President and CEO of Jewish Voice Ministries, sent out the following information and made requests to American friends of Israel:

NEED TO ASK FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE PRAYERS AND ACTION!!!
The United Nations' Security Council is considering a resolution right now that would declare illegal "all Israeli settlement activity in the Occupied Palestinian Territory."
In simple terms, this proposed resolution would unilaterally end any negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians about the terms of a future separate state. The "Occupied Palestinian Territory" is all the land that was captured in the '67 war - a war Israel did not start and did not want - but I believe, it was a war that God supernaturally enabled Israel to win to secure her future.
This proposed resolution flies in the face of the facts and in the face of past UN action. Noted legal scholar and commentator Alan Derdshowitz describes this an an attempt to "retroactively rewrite (UN) Resolution 242 ... 44 years after it was enacted."
Incredibly, fourteen of the fifteen members of the Security Council say they support this resolution - every member other than the United States! That means that unless the U.S. vetoes the resolution, it will pass - and the consequences will be deadly.
Sadly, it is not at all clear that the United States intends to act to defend Israel.

In light of this turn of events, Rabbi Berris has asked us to do two things:

(1)   To sign a petition to President Obama urging him to defend Israel by vetoing this resolution. Here is the content of the petition:

Dear President Obama:
As a Bible-believing American citizen, I strongly urge you to instruct our delegation to the United Nations to veto the unfair anti-Israel resolution currently before the Security Council. This one-sided attempt to resolve all the disputed issues in favor of the Palestinians without any input from Israel cannot possibly result in a good outcome. America has long been a close friend and ally ofIsrael, and that should not change now. The peace process and negotiations that your Administration has promoted should be allowed to continue, with both sides urged to come to the table and work out their differences. I am praying that God will give you wisdom to deal with all of the challenges and pressures of your office.

(2)   To pray and forward/email this information to all of your friends and ask them to add their voices to ours and then forward it on to THEIR friends.

I urge Christians, Conservatives, and Tea Party participants and all who support Israel to sign this petition and to spread this information.

The Whole Armor of God, Part 9

Today I continue my series of articles commenting on the concept and principles involved in the Armor of God, which the apostle Pauldescribed in the New Testament. This is the topic of the Sunday school lesson I am currently teaching.

The Armor of God – Faith

4. Faith: Having the shield of faith. (Ephesians 6:16)

Faith requires something to believe in, as in the faithfulness of God. What He says does not change over time, nor does He change. "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." (I Thessalonians 5:24) "But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil." {II Thessalonians 3:3)

We must believe God without doubting. Jesus saw a fig tree with leaves and wanted figs, but there were no figs on the tree. Jesus cursed the tree, and it withered by the next day. Peter said, “(L)ook how quickly the fig tree is withered.” Jesus anwered, “Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” (Mark 11:12-14;20-23)

Mark 11:24 – “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

What words we say is important, and not to doubt is also important. If we say bad things believing what we say, then we can actually bring the evil that we say into our life. Also, when we doubt, we negate our faith. Peter walking on the water is a good example of this.

“In the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.” But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.” And Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” And He said, “Come.” And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, “Lord, save me.” And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, “Of a truth thou art the Son of God.” (Matthew 14:25-33)

The promises of God are sure and steadfast. The rainbow is the sign of the covenant God has with the inhabitants of the earth that no flood will ever destroy the whole earth again (Genesis 9:8-17). He has kept that promise.

Faith in God is faith in someone Who is everlasting and has the power to care for each one of us. The following is a list of some of the things included as faith.

A. =Substance and Evidence - “Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) From this verse we learn that faith is both substance and evidence. Hope is necessary for there is an internal confidence that what one desires is going to come to fruition. Not seeing the outcome, faith is the evidence of the results. Often in sports people will say that the team has confidence, or a player has confidence. Then they win. I use faith when I pump gas into my car. I don’t look at the gas coming out of the nozzle before putting it into the tank. By faith I believe what I am putting into the tank is gas. A couple times the nozzle wouldn’t fit. Then I looked more closely at the product label and found it to be diesel.
B. Good Report - "For by it (faith) the elders obtained a good report.” (Hebrews 11:2). A good report from God is what we desire. In school it is always good to receive a good report from our teacher, but this good report comes from the Creator of heaven and earth. Several names are listed by God for honorable mention. Abel for offering a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. Enoch was translated so he did not see death for he pleased God. Noah, who was warned by God that a world-wide flood was going to take place moved with fear to build an ark. Notice that his fear was the result of faith in God. Abraham left his home to live in a strange land where he had been promised an inhertance. You, also, can receive a good report from God; by faith in Jesus Christ.
C. Impossible - It is impossible to please God without faith. “Anyone who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) Faithlessness squelches the power of God in people’s lives. In Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus, He was limited from doing many mighty miracles because of their lack of faith (Matthew 13:58).
D. Quench Fiery Darts - “With faith we can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” (Ephesians 6:16). The darts are fiery because they are intended to do more damage than just the puncture wound of the dart. Notice, we quench the fiery darts. This means that it is our responsibility to quench the fiery darts. We must use our faith. In warfare shells are fired with high explosives in them. The explosion does more damage than just the shell.
E. Peace of Mind - When a person thinks about God: His Love, His knowledge, and His power the obstacles in life appear less imposing. One can have peace of mind knowing that God is greater than our difficulties. “God will keep in perfect peace the person who’s mind is stayed on Him.” (Isaiah 26:3)
F. Cursed - The person, who believes in himself and IN his own ability to get something accomplished, is cursed. “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.” Jeremiah 17:5, 6
G. Blessed - The person that trusts in God is blessed. “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7, 8
H. Fountain of Living Waters - God is the fountain of living waters. When a person believes in Jesus Christ they then have the Holy Spirit within them in the name of Jesus. A person, who believes, then has this fountain of living water dwelling within them. (Jeremiah 17:13; John 4:10, 14; 7:38)
I. No Evil Heart of Unbelief - Believing what God says is faith. Not believing what God says is unbelief and is evil. God does not want us to have a mind that does not believe Him. (Hebrews 3:12)
“Jesus said, except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and eat his blood, you have no life in you. He then said, whosoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood, has eternal life in himself. Many disciples said, this is a hard saying, and left following Him. Jesus asked the twelve disciples will you also leave? Simon Peter replied to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and are sure that you are the Christ the Son of the Living God.” John 6:50-69)
Earlier Jesus had said, “I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) This passage indicates that going to Jesus is the same as eating His flesh and believing on Him is the same as drinking His blood.
At the Passover meal Jesus broke the bread and said, “This is my body broken for you. Take and eat it.” Then He took the wine and said, “(T)his is my blood, shed for you take and drink it.”” (Matthew 26:26-29) We do this in remembrance of Jesus and show the Lord’s death until He comes. (I Corinthians 11:23-25)
J. Walk by Faith - As Christians we walk by faith and not by sight. (II Corinthians 5:7) Not seeing Jesus we love Him and honor Him with our lives. Not seeing heaven we know and believe that we are citizens there. We live with the expectation that Jesus will come for us to take us to be with Him in new heavenly bodies (John 14:3; I Corinthians 15:51-54). We realize that what we do today will have an eternal effect on our lives and the lives of others; yet we cannot see eternity. (I Corinthians 3:10-15)
K. Saved by faith - People are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. There is nothing a person can do to add to it or instead of it. If there were, then, salvation would be by God’s indebtedness to a person. Salvation is by faith that it might be by grace. (Romans 4:1-9,16; John 3:16)
L. Overcome the World - “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” I John 5:4, 5
M. Jesus is the Author & Finisher - “Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2) Authors write and publish what they write for others to read. Each person’s life is a story in itself written with the life of each individual. Jesus is the Author. Cement finishers work with cement when it is wet to create a thing of strength and beauty, which will last. In the same way Jesus works with people to change them into His likeness to last forever.
N. Unity of Faith - Soldiers with shields in formation could present the front of the formation with shields locked together. The flanks of the formation could have shields locked together and the rear of the formation with shields locked together. The soldiers in the ranks could hold their shields over their heads shielding the formation from above. In the same way with the unity of several people praying in faith greater results can be obtained from God, than by one person praying alone. This is the reason for prayer meetings. The church in Jerusalem prayed, and Peter was let out of prison by an angel. In the Battle of the Bulge General Patton had two hundred and fifty thousand prayers distributed to the troops to pray for good weather and God granted him his request. During WWII Rev. Hague said that at his father’s church every day prayer was made for the ones in uniform from the church and everyone came home safely after the war. It was when one hundred and twenty were in one accord that the Holy Spirit arrived at Pentecost. Unity in faith is good.

If you are not united in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ, then you can invite Him into your heart today. A sample prayer is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my evil and cone into my heart.”

Ohio Heartbeat Bill

Hat tip goes to Janet Porter and her Faith2Action.com website and organization, which sent me an email with a link to the video below. The YouTube video is a music video parody of the '80s song "99 Red Balloons."   The balloons are featured in the video with dancing babies (in utero and out), which has just been released.

In February lawmakers will be introducing a bill which will seek to protect any human baby who has a detectable heartbeat from being murdered through the grisly abortion procedure. This is a very welcome turn of events. The previous Governor and previous Democratic State House were much less than 100% pro-life.

Please visit www.HeartbeatBill.com for additional information. Currently there are 36 co-sponsors to this bill in the Ohio House. The video is part of an effort to pass a "Heartbeat Bill" in the state of Ohio that intends to protect every unborn child who has a detectable heartbeat.    Mrs. Porter’s organization also hopes that the video will educate people about life far beyond the borders of the Buckeye State

Here are some of the lyrics from the pro-life video above:

Some time ago, we don't know why
The court ruled to make babies cry
But now we can stop their decree
And protect children like me
When they hear our hearts, (I know) they'll care
Send the message, "Someone's in there!"
Show them that we are alive

with 99 red heart balloons for life!

Border security: President & Congress derelict in their duty

Islamic Terrorist Sponsor Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Hat tip goes to CHPP's The Daily Brief for Thursday 1-27-11 for the following news item from Fox News, “Iranian Book Celebrating Suicide Bombers Found in Arizona Desert.”

According to CHPP, Fox News reported, ”A book celebrating suicide bombers has been found in the Arizona desert just north of the U.S. - Mexican border, authorities tell Fox News.

The book, "In Memory of Our Martyrs," was spotted Tuesday by a U.S. Border Patrol agent out of the Casa Grande substation who was patrolling a route known for smuggling illegal immigrants and drugs.

Published in Iran, it consists of short biographies of Islamic suicide bombers and other Islamic militants who died carrying out attacks.

The U.S. Government continues to do little or nothing about our porous border. Who will the government blame when we are hit with another terrorist attack or series of attacks? Will they blame President Bush, who’s been out of office for two years now? The President talked out rebuilding our infrastructure – our bridges and our roads in his SOTU campaign speech. What about securing our borders, Mr. President? National Security is one of the responsibilities of government, not controlling individual citizens’ healthcare, not education, not controlling energy, etc. You are meddling in everything but what you are mandated to do constitutionally. Please reset your priorities right now, before another 9/11 happens, or worse.

Advise to President: Secure the border, enforce the immigration laws, fine and imprison businesses that are thwarting the law, and begin to deport the illegal aliens … stop campaigning and start leading …

These Liberals Don't Understand That They Are Children of the Devil

Rick Santorum On Abortion and Race and the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act"

More from Santorum here.  (Jesse Jackson used to be pro-life?)  Read H.R. 3 here.

American Exceptionalism

Ever since B.O. said that America was exceptional to Americans the same way the Greece is exceptional to Greeks and England is exceptional to the British, people have been talking about this idea of American exceptionalism and what it means.

America’s history is certainly exceptional.  The U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence are revolutionary.  To me American exceptionalism means that these documents are by far superior to anything since the Bible.  They are not perfect, but they are more than just a step of progress toward some ideal society.  For the first time, a People established a government which recognized the rights of the people and threw off a tyrannical government without replacing it with another.  This would not have been possible without God-fearing men and the help of the Almighty.

But all this certainly does not mean that America is exceptional today.  A nation can lose its exceptionalism more easily than it has gained it.  Americans have murdered 50 million of it’s our children.  America has put its trust in our government to provide for our every need (healthcare, jobs, education, etc.). She has also put her trust in its military might and has killed a hundred times more people in the current wars than all those killed in all terrorist attacks between 1993 and 2004.  She has forgotten that the Bible says, “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and LIFE FOR LIFE.”  She now thinks that it is the inherent ability of her citizens to develop technology and her possession of the raw materials to utilize it which makes her exceptional.  But if she has any real exceptionalism left, it comes from the fact that she was founded upon biblical principles of justice and liberty.

American can take a lesson can taken from the Israelite nation.  The Israelites thought that they were special people.  They were right, but that did not mean that God was going to protect them no matter what they did.  God sent the prophet Ezekiel to warn the people that the destruction Jerusalem was coming.  God wanted the people to know that it would not be because the gods of the Babylonians were stronger than Yahweh.  He told them through the prophet Ezekiel that the Babylonians would be victorious over the Israelites because God himself would make it happen on purpose.  “Then you will know that I am the LORD,” Ezekiel told them.  The reason why God did this is because of sins of the Israelites.  These included the sacrificing of infants and the worshipping of idols.

But that we must be a just and moral people was not the only thing that the Founders of the American Republic warned us to do in order to maintain our freedoms.  They also said were must be a religious people.  They said we must be vigilant against tyranny.  They said we must want freedom more than comfort.  They said we must want liberty more than security.  They said that we must recognize that power tends to corrupt people, even ones with the best of intentions.  These are the things which Americans need to hear in order to regain our exceptionalism.  If America will hear this message and take it to heart, America can be even better than it ever has been.

Cubans no longer coming to America?

“President (Soetoro a/k/a) Obama has eased travel restrictions between the United States and Cuba.

“(Soetoro alias) Obama figured that since he has become President, Cubans now have little reason to escape here!”

SOTU: A sad state of affairs

"Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly." --- Proverbs 26:25-26 (New International Version 1984, ©1984)

I watched with disinterest the President's 3rd, and hopefully, next to his last State of the Union speech. It was uninspiring at best, and pure political rhetoric at worst. He plans to spend more on education and infrastructure.Throwing more money at the educational bureaucracy and to teachers' unions and replacing more bridges and roads - that seems to be the President's solution. This will stimulate the economy? Depression and discouragement were the emotions with which I was left after Dear Leader’s speech.

How could America elect such an incompetent, inexperienced ideologue? That is the question that remains. Can we survive the remainder of this man's term?

Congressman Paul Ryan and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann offered more hope than did our sophomoric socialist narcissist President. Both maturely emphasized that deep spending cuts are needed to dent the national debt and deficit. Now is the time to begin to curtail government spending. Merely freezing discretionary spending at current levels is not nearly enough. Going back to pre-bailout, pre-stimulus budgets is a start. Let's see if the conservative Republicans win the day over the Democrats and RINOs and begin to immediately make the cuts necessary to restrain a government gone wild ...

SOTU: Switching Seats on a Sinking Ship

Hat tip goes to twitter @ARRA and  http://ARRAnewsservice.com/ where I first saw the timely cartoon at the end of this post.

The Democrats are using the President's State of the Union (SOTU) message tonight as an occasion to be BFFs with their fellow Republican colleagues. Apparently sitting together, like giddy teenagers, will bring the country together? What about cutting the irrational and unprecedented government spending of the last two to four years?

It’s an obvious and a devious diversion to take the eyes and focus of the American people off the reason that the Democrats lost the November election and place it on a new found camaraderie born out of the media-generated revulsion and blame projection onto the Tea Party movement, critics of Dear Leader and the renegade 111th Congress, Talk-radio, Right wing wacko inspired Tucson massacre!

“Civility!” is the loud and proud, but defeated, Leftists' cry. The cartoon below depicts the Democrats’ disingenuous and deceptive shenanigans. Democrats, they are merely playing the GOP. I only hope that the conservatives among the Republicans will not fall for this ploy and walk away …

Putting Gov’t Spending on the Chopping Block, Part 1

Will Dear Leader, in his second State of the Union address tomorrow evening, outline ANY spending cuts? Or, instead, will his teleprompted remarks only offer MORE spending as a solution to America’s myriad of mostly messianic manufactured ‘problems?’ Doesn’t he realize that government IS the problem? Doesn’t he realize that HE and the 110th and 111th Congress are the perpetrators of the problem?

I am starting to amass a list of areas that should be cut by government, and cut immediately. What follows is the start of that list.

·                    Shutting Down the Department of Education $71 Billion –  source

·                    Stopping continued stimulus funding to the Department of Education - $51 Billion – source

·                    Defunding Planned Parenthood Federation of America – More than $350+ Million (1/3 of a Billion!) per year

TOTAL SPENDING REDUCTION TO DATE:
$122,350,000,000.00

The Book of Eli (2010), A movie review

I'm driving my semi from Benton Harbor, Michigan to East Chicago, Indiana. Ahead of schedule and hungry, I stopped at the Travel Centers of America Truck Stop in Sawyer, Michigan for breakfast. The waitress was especially nice to me, so I gave her my business card. On the reverse side of the business card is an outline of the plan of salvation, how to get to heaven and spend eternity with God. She told me that she knew nothing about religion having not been taught anything about it at home. But she had watched the movie, “The Book of Eli,” and it had made her think. She wanted me to watch it also. I told her I would do so.

A man by the name of Eli had found a book, which he said was the only one in the whole United States. It seems that a nuclear war had taken place and the land was bare and the cities were destroyed and not functioning. Hoodlums had taken over and ran society for themselves. The war was blamed on the book, which Eli had found, and was therefore banned from the nation. Copies of it were confiscated and burned by the authorities.

Eli was walking west looking for a place where the book would be welcomed. He went into one city where the boss wanted his people to find the book because he believed the book would provide him the power to control many cities. A prolonged fight between the boss’s thugs and Eli took place over the book with many of the boss’s men being killed and Eli left for dead. The book had a metal latch on it with a lock which had to be picked. The boss opened the book and found it to be written in Braille. He could not read it.

Eli had not died and resumed his westward journey and was accompanied by a young lady. They made their way to Alcatraz in San Francisco. Here on the island they had a printing press with which to print books to bring about a civil society but they lacked one book: The Holy Bible. From reading the Holy Bible in Braille, Eli had memorized its contents. From this a man sat down and wrote in long hand the Holy Bible while Eli dictated it. From this they printed the Holy Bible for people to read.

The main thrust of the story is that to have a civil society that society needs the Holy Bible. Society must then live in obedience to it.

On the cover, which held the DVD, was stated that the book had the ability to give power to a despot. This is of course is not true. The Holy Bible has the power through God to give eternal life to a despot and make him a godly man.

The boss appeared to love the book which was the Holy Bible. If indeed, he loved it, he would have known what was in the book himself, had his own copy, lived by it, and taught it to his people. Since this was not shown, but rather a disregard for godliness was portrayed by the boss in the film. The film misrepresents the character of the man in charge of the city.

With the Democrats in charge of the White House and Congress (the Senate) it is quite possible that the United Sates will one day be defenseless against nuclear attack.

What the Holy Bible does depict is the rise of the antichrist and his control of the nations. Eli had to show his hands to do business but it was not clear why. The mark of the beast will only last for three and a half years while the situation in the movie seemed to be much longer. Someone with the mark of the beast will have no desire to know what is in the Holy Bible. Jesus will come with His army and fight the army of the antichrist, and capture the antichrist.

The movie does not appear to square with prophecy, while it does seem to honor the book, the Holy Bible.

The movie script correctly portrays the promise of God, the nation that forgets God will be turned into Hell! Can you observe this happening in the United States today?

Senator Jim DeMint Proposes Balanced Budget Amendment

Robert Romano wrote an article, "DeMint Proposes Balanced Budget Amendment," for the Americans for Limited Government blog. He reported that "Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) proposed tying an upcoming vote to raise the $14.294 trillion national debt ceiling to a balanced budget amendment. Not a bad idea." I, too, agree this is a great idea.

Romano continues, "After all, why tie an increase in the debt ceiling to a single year’s budget cuts, when it could be tied to a requirement that all budgets be balanced? The DeMint proposal would require future Congresses to live within their means, and would be the first ever constitutional limit on Congress’ power of the purse."

Romano further states, "The proposal still appears to be in a rough draft form, but the email gives some basic details. The amendment would “Require Congress to balance the federal budget each year… [p]revent Congress from spending more than 20 percent of GDP… [and] [r]equire a 2/3 super-majority vote to raise taxes."

You can read Mr. Romano's entire article here.

The uncontrolled, reckless, wasteful spending must end. It must start now. It can't wait for next year or the next decade. We must put a rein on the spending with the budget we should have had in place October 1, 2009. Shamefully, the Pelosi-led Congress apparently did not feel it was necessary to have a budget. I think this is one of the big reasons that there is now a Republican, and hopefully, a conservative majority in place today. We must take the credit card out of the hands of the Congressional spendthrifts. We must start paying off the debt and reducing the deficit.

We must say "No" very loudly and very often to President Soetoro aka Obama and those in Congress who have no respect for the dollar, nor for the people of America, past, present or future. This spending reduction must be the highest priority of our nation at this time. Otherwise, it will be America's Armageddon!

Hopefully the Congressional Conservative Tea Party leaders will head this fight in a relentless, focused attack. They need to have greater tenacity than even the Leftists and Socialists who rammed ObamaCare down the throats of America last year. Anything less is unacceptable.

Barbarism 2011 style: Philly physician accused of butchering born-alive babies

Hat tip goes to American Family Radio’s AFA Report program which cited this news story on their program today, Philadelphia doctor accused of murdering patient, newborns.” This ghastly story, even  more heineous and barbaric than the Tucson massacre will barely be mentioned on government-controlled media, because it may damage the agenda and the aims of the current regime.  Hopefully through the alternative media, many Americans will begin to see the real nature of the abortion industry. It personifies evil.
