Michael Sam: Progressive Promotion of Sodomy

I am appalled at the prolific positive promotion of homosexuality in our culture, which is so rampant today. This perverse progressive agenda is being fueled by those bent on destroying the foundations or traditional American values and virtues. Not happy just having desensitized the consciences of millions of people via their movies, music, video games, and television to the immorality and negative aspects of homosexuality, they desire to infect all of our culture. This ungodly ideology has crept into our schools and colleges advancing a lifestyle that is deadly to individuals and to society as a whole.

The liberal left now has set their sights on making inroads into sports arena. It is not enough that professional sports tolerate and accept drug abusers, wife beaters, and cheaters. Now they want us to accept those who practice unnatural, unhealthy and abnormal homosexual behavior. Apparently so hungry to gain a foothold into sports, they have glorified a borderline player vaunting him to a status way above what his skill on the football field deserves. I have heard only rapturous reports on NPR and even ESPN following Michael Sam's every move from his low round draft pick to his pre-season exploits to his failure to make the final cut of the profession team that drafted him. He’s been treated as if he were some kind of hero or star.

What next? Will the progressive left proclaim a pedophile, a porn star, or a serial purse snatcher as the first of his or her kind to play in a sport? It is a sad commentary on the state of our society when we elevate any sinner to that status of saint, which many in our society have done in the case of Michael Sam.  I admit that I too am a sinner as every human being is. We should not glorify wanton immoral behavior of any kind, be it fornication, pornographic addiction, drug abuse, child abuse, theft, adultery, or homosexuality. In doing so it only further weakens the moral fabric and foundation of our already shaky society.

Marriage is an institution, a sacred one at that. True marriage can only be between one man and one woman. This has been true in America since its founding. Only recently has a perversion of the definition of marriage been attempted and even permitted to occur in some states.

Should same-sex couples be allowed to marry?  Same-sex individuals can marry without question, people of the opposite sex. It is a fallacy that same-sex individuals can't marry. However, the term or definition of marriage itself is under attack. The Left is well versed at twisting and perverting the definition of words, look at the hideous expression "a woman's right to choose" meaning a mother's absolute right to kill her unborn child!

Marriage between one-man and one-woman is the standard. Marriage is the exclusive domain of one-man and one-woman relationships; it has been since the founding of this nation. Only recently has this sacred institution been attacked and perverted in some places.  I reiterate, there is no such thing as same-sex marriage. Same-sex ‘marriage’ is a faux imitation of the real thing.

The fraudulent same-sex 'marriage’ movement is clearly the result of an effective propaganda barrage by radical homosexuals and lesbians, their advocates, and other comrades-in-harm. These activists and supporters are intent on destroying the very fabric of American society and culture, the natural family. Those working against the culture include the media, the entertainment industry and many politicians, who seek to benefit from the filthy lucre of those who bankroll this vicious anti-marriage movement.

I have been watching the 2010 Values Voter Summit online today. It is being broadcast live at http://www.ValuesVoterSummit.org/home. This the fifth Summit held in Washington, DC. I personally attended two. There is a wonderful assemblage of conservative speakers at this year's conference, including several key politicians.

Sadly, the conference also included a questionable conservative Mitt Romney, though he said a lot of right things. I personally do not believe that he is genuine. Just look at how he led as Governor in Massachusetts and his positions on healthcare, homosexuality and abortion.

Here is a letter an acquaintance, R.C., wrote to Chairman Michael Steele. I concur with R.C.'s wise words and counsel.

Dear Chairman Steele,

I see that you said recently (again!) that the Republican Party must be open to "abortion rights" candidates. This is only one of the most obvious reasons, and most egregious, that the Republican Party will die, and deserves to.

I disagree with virtually everything the current Democratic Party stands for, but I have to give them credit for at least one thing - they believe fervently and uncompromisingly in many things, and they don't welcome, and support, candidates in their party who hold views that don't line up with those deep beliefs.

The Republican Party, the other hand, obviously believes in nothing, except getting candidates elected who have an R after their name, whatever their beliefs. It is this total bankruptcy of belief, principle, courage, and morals, its utter failure to stand for anything, that has consigned the Republican Party to the dustbin of history, and all I can say is "Good riddance!"

A once great party, the party of Lincoln, the party that abolished slavery, is now a pathetic, contemptible, vote grubbing coalition of political hacks willing to sell their souls for a vote or a buck.

Though I despise the Democrats and don't want to see them re-elected, I'll vote my conscience and my principles in 2010, perhaps the Constitution Party or America's Independent Party - they may not get elected but at least they've got integrity. The Republican Party doesn't even know the meaning of the word anymore.

Memorial Day is a time to remember those brave patriots who fought for America in various wars throughout the centuries. Their sacrifices are yet appreciated by many in this nation. We have freedom because of them. Though many misuse their freedom and exploit it for their own selfish desires, let us follow in the footsteps of those who considered the principles and values on which America was founded and for which America has stood, worthy of their ultimate sacrifice. AGAINST FRESHWATER

[MOUNT VERNON, OHIO) Thursday, April 24, 2008 - "Freshwater controversy continues" – MountVernonNews.com reports this controversy has poured out into the Mount Vernon community. There are supporters and detractors of Mr. Freshwater.

According to an online article on the MountVernonNews website, “Retired middle school science teacher Jeff George (who) worked alongside Freshwater at Mount Vernon Middle School in the late 1980s and early ’90s . . . said there may be substance to other allegations that Freshwater used the classroom to advance his own personal beliefs. “The school administration has known for a long time that Freshwater was crossing the line, and he should have been fired a long time ago.”

“George recalls several occasions when Freshwater “didn’t always stay on track with science. What he was teaching was not true, and there have been numerous complaints over the years.” (On more than one occasion, evaluations in Freshwater’s file indicate that Freshwater was directed to work more closely with George in following the course of study.) . . .

““He (Freshwater) was promoting a particular belief system,” George said, “and preached against other religions, not just Muslims or Jews or Hindus, but also any Christian denomination that was different from his.””

(MANSFIELD, OHIO) Thursday, April 24, 2008 - "We need more teachers like John Freshwater" – The following is a Letter to the Editor which appeared in the Mansfield News Journal on April 24, 2008. The following are some very enlightening words by David Green of Lexington, Ohio the Pastor, Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Mansfield. I took the liberty to bold some of the words for emphasis.

“The Mount Vernon school district ought to be ashamed. I read in disbelief the story about Mr. Freshwater's Bible. The part that amazed me is that he was not accused of teaching from the Bible, he was accused of having his Bible on his desk. I think this teacher ought to be commended for having his Bible in the school, and I wish there were more teachers like him.

“The First Amendment does not grant people freedom from religion, but it grants freedom of religion. The Founding Fathers did not intend to keep religion out of school. In fact, it was just the opposite. I own reprints of such 18th and 19th century schoolbooks as The New England Primer and McGuffey's Readers. These books are full of references about God and the Bible.

“Now the schoolbooks do not mention God, and teachers are apparently not allowed to even show their Bible in the classroom where the kids can see. During the early years of our nation, it was unheard of for one child to rape another. They had guns, but they did not shoot each other. Now, God has been "expelled" from the public schools and rapes and school shootings are much too common. Coincidental? I think not.

“These kids need to know the Ten Commandments, the golden rule, and the fact they were made in the image of God. The Bible was good enough for our Founding Fathers, and it is good enough for our kids today. I appreciate Mr. Freshwater's stand on this, and would encourage him to continue fighting.

“Benjamin Rush, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence wrote, "The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion." And in the Bible, we read a warning that we all need to pay attention to: "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17).”

MY THOUGHTS

Mr. Freshwater is a very excellent teacher. He is a remnant of the America of our Founders, a dying breed. Instead of condemning him as Mr. George clearly did above for living his faith during the week and not merely on Sundays, we should commend Mr. Freshwater for having the courage and integrity to say no to the PC police who told him to remove his Bible from the sight of the children. These same children have been exposed to far worse sights on vile video games, global warming propaganda films, immorality on prime time TV, the violence and sex in movies and music.

Churches, parents, students and the citizens of Mount Vernon and anywhere else in this country where faith is ridiculed, ostracized, demonized, stifled, persecuted and prosecuted need to stand up now to defend Mr. Freshwater's freedom. We need to say enough to the political correct, the homosexual crowd, the pro-abortion crowd, the ACLU, the education elite and all evil and leftist forces working to destroy the fundamental beliefs, the moral and the spiritual underpinnings of this nation. Here is a line in the sand.
