The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch runs a regular feature in its newspaper identifying an important issue to the local community and asking the vote of the readers on that issue along with any comments they may have. Occasionally I will respond and comment on the issue raised, as I did in regard to today's (Tuesday's) topic. The Governor of Ohio, Ted Strickland, a staunch Soetoro/Obama supporter and an extreme leftist himself, gave his state of the state address today.

Finding a new job for HIMSELF! Because in November there will be a great repudiation of his failed liberal policies. He was one of the prominent supporters of our current president and you can see what he has not done for this state or for this nation.

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland Vetoes Cloning Funding Ban

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - On June 12, 2008, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland line-item vetoed language which would have prevented the use of Ohio Biomedical Development Program funds for human cloning. The language, an amendment sponsored by Sen. Steve Buehrer, had been added to H.B. 554, an economic stimulus bill which made a multi-million dollar appropriation of taxpayer money for grants, loans and loan guarantees for "biomedical" research and products.

"By vetoing a ban on using taxpayer funds for human cloning, Ted Strickland has demonstrated that he supports treating human life as a commodity," said Mike Gonidakis, Executive Director of Ohio Right to Life. "Most Ohioans don't share Governor Strickland's cavalier disregard for the value of human life and they should not be forced to pay for its creation, exploitation and destruction in cloning research," Gonidakis said.

All human cloning is wrong. What Gov. Strickland did with that veto was shameful and purely political. It was absolutely immoral. How could a true man of the cloth (Strickland supposedly is an ordained Methodist minister) do such a thing? Even Obama claims to be a "Christian" as well. By their fruit (actions) you will know if they are true followers of Jesus Christ. These men are Judases at the very best!

Majority of Americans Favor School Choice

I try to listen to American historian David Barton’s radio program WallBuilders Live as much as possible. He cited a recent (2007) poll which found that 65% of those polled wanted school choice. In researching that assertion I found that a poll was indeed done recently in Texas and found 65% of those who participated in that survey favored school choice.

It is my contention that that is what the majority of Americans want as well. However, we are up against a powerful and entrenched academic and education elite that opposes any loss of government school funding. The National Education Association (NEA) and other left wing controlled and dominated teachers unions intensely lobby see any competition as an anathema.

I heard a recent news story that one school district has gone to a group of home-schooling parents and asked them what they want in order for their student to return to the public schools system. There appears that there might be a crack in the education bureaucracy’s hard shell.

In Ohio one of the seemingly top priorities for the newly elected Democrat governor, Ted Strickland, was an attempt remove most of the voucher program from the state budget. I believe some of the funding had been restored, but there will be an on-going battle with this teacher-union backed Ohio’s top executive. To retain total domination and control of the government schools is one of the chief ways that the left has advanced some of its most vile components of their anti-American values, anti-Christian, anti-God agenda.

Ever since the 1960s when the United States Supreme(ly deceived) Court ruled to “remove” God from and prayer from the government schools there has been a continuous indoctrination of American children in the tenets of the secular humanist religion. The high priests and priestesses lackeys of the NEA, immoderate progressive leftists and whole host of their comrades have sought to destroy the moral foundations of our great nation. Once right and wrong was taught in our schools. Character development was once considered to be utterly important. Children were taught reading, writing and arithmetic. Everything now is based on moral relativism and situational ethics. Moral absolutes are shunned more than an Amish girl singing rap in the local bar.

TAKE ACTION

Learn which politicians support school choice options and other issues that may be important to you like prohibiting civil unions or same-sex “marriage” or any special “rights” for homosexuals and lesbians, or like supporting a total ban on abortion or embryonic stem ceil research. It is time the majority of Americans wake up and make their values known. We must stop acquiescing to the minority, especially the immoral minority which has like a cancer spread through much of the living tissue of this nation. It is time for some radical surgery to excise the malignant tumors!

Defending the Community From Moral Decay

The passage this week of the Community Defense Act in both houses of Congress in Ohio was a critical step toward restoring a bit of the moral foundation upon which our nation and our state were founded. The passing of this important law by overwhelming margins handcuffed the extreme liberal Governor Ted Strickland from vetoing the measure. He refused even to sign the bill thereby allowing it to become law without his signature. Governor Ted Strickland’s true liberal colors glow by his statements and his action or inaction in not signing the bill. More here.

Lobbyists for the strip club industry, as well as many in Ohio's mainstream media, placed great pressure on our state senators to reject this important bill. As a result of the courage and leadership shown by Senators (President) Bill Harris and Gary Cates and Representatives (Speaker) Jon Husted and Louis Blessing Ohio now has a bill that will greatly reduce the numerous crimes, as well as the exploitation and degradation of women, associated with sexually oriented businesses.

Why Gov. Strickland would you opposed this law?

The Columbus Dispatch reported that the governor said he thinks the state has “more important” things to worry about. The newspaper quoted Governor Strickland as saying, "I have said that I think we should be talking about education and job creation and health care, and I think this issue has consumed too much time and attention on the part of political leaders who ought to be concerned about the issues that really touch the lives of Ohioans," Strickland told reporters after a speech Downtown yesterday.”

Yes, more important issues, Governor, like denying parental choice in abolishing school vouchers programs in the state, more important like abolishing very successful and proven abstinence sex education from the state budget, more important like extending special protection to homosexuals and transgender “couples” through a signing an executive order [ more like executive odor if you ask me – gregjaye ] prohibiting such “discrimination” in state employment. According to a Middletown Journal newspaper article, Strickland's order defines gender identity as "the gender a person associates with him or herself, regardless of the gender others might attribute to that person."

Yes, more important Governor than say, your apparent is siding with the ACLU of Ohio and Planned Parenthood, “who achieved victory in a lawsuit challenging House Bill 126. The law regulates Mifepristone, or RU-486, requiring that it be distributed exactly as approved by the FDA with no off label use, potentially mandating that doctors prescribe up to three times the needed doses at greater cost to provider and patient. In September 2006, a federal court in Cincinnati permanently blocked the law, because it is unconstitutionally vague, subjecting doctors to felony charges and loss of their medical license without clear guidelines about what conduct is prohibited.

”Governor Strickland has opted not to pursue the appeal to the Sixth Circuit. However, the Attorney General (Dann) and prosecutors have chosen to continue pursuing the appeal, thus the case is still scheduled to go through the appeal process.” [source]

What can be said about the extreme liberal Governor Ted Strickland except that he is a pompous progressive political hack whose unprincipled priorities are all wrong and even immoral. His agenda and leftist political philosophy are antithetical to those who do want to do the right thing, such as the majority of people in Ohio regarding the Community Defense Act, for example. As bad as I agree that Governor Taft proved to be, this Governor shows all the potential to be much worse. God save us. God save Governor Strickland.

Abstinence Only

Ohio Democrat Governor Ted Strickland has only been in office for three months but he has inflicted damage on the citizens of Ohio. First, he did away with the school voucher program. Now the “Reverend” and gilded Governor shows his true liberal leftist colors by removing ALL $500,000 for abstinence-only sex education from his proposed state budget, which he presented to the legislature this week. In doing this he is telling Washington to keep your $23,000,000 federal abstinence-only sex education program funds.

This is quite insane. Governor Strickland is taking programs that work and because they do not fit his political agenda and because he must appease the lunatic elements of the far left including radical anti-American organizations such as the NARAL, National Organization of Women (NOW), the National Abortion Federation (NAF), Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and the teacher unions and others.

Does the liberal Governor not understand that an ounce (or in this case, $500,000 + $23,000,000) of prevention is worth a pound (costs of abortion – babies lives and mothers guilt & shame as well as the 10 times the cost of prevention - $300,000,000 to care for the babies not aborted!) of cure?

Does this leftist Governor understand that the abstinence programs are working, that they are helping to reduce teen pregnancies significantly during the past ten years? In returning to the godless Planned Parenthood hedonistic condom-based sex education there will be a rise in abortions (Planned Parenthoods goal!) as well as increased babies to care for which will become welfare recipients (the Guv apparently doesn’t care or cannot make the connection.)

Wise up Governor Strickland and do the RIGHT thing. Stop playing politics. Stop sacrificing lives and money to advance the leftist-socialist cause. It is not worth it.
