Ohio US Senate Race: What's the Difference?

Being an independent voter and although ideally I would prefer a strong social and fiscal conservative be they a Democratic, Republican or Third-Party candidate, my choices boil down to Brown, DeWine and don’t vote. Is a “don’t vote” a statement indicating that I will not compromise my beliefs and principles? For some that is the case. For me in this race at this time it would be helping the candidate or cause which is the greater of two evils.

THE POSITIONS ON KEY ISSUES

Let’s look at the differences in the candidates on the issues for which I feel are the most crucial for America, for Ohio and for me:

Congressman Sherrod Brown………………Senator Mike DeWine……………..

Pro-death (---)………………………………………Pro-Life (+++)………….……………
>>>abortion of demand
>>>partial birth abortion
>>>assisted suicide
>>>euthanasia
>>>cloning & ESCR

Pro-homosexual agenda (---)………………….Pro-traditional marriage(+++)
>>>For special protections
>>>For same-sex marriage

Anti-school vouchers (-)……………………..…..Pro-school vouchers(+)…….

>>>Pro NEA & AFT Unions

Increase taxes (--)…………………………………..Reduce taxes (++)…….……
>>>Against child tax credits

Against Iraq War (--)………………………………..For Iraq War (++)………………
>>>Appease our enemies
>>>Military NOT a priority

For illegal alien amnesty (---)…………………For illegal alien amnesty (---)

Against Free Trade (+++)…………………… For Free Trade (---)……………..

CONCLUSION

Congressman Brown is tends to be more of a hardcore radical liberal leaning Democrat as opposed Mike DeWine who tends to be a moderate leaning Republican who is strong on social issues. In tallying up the pluses and Senator DeWine comes out the “winner” by far.

Brown: - 11 (3 pluses less 14 minuses)
DeWine: +5 (11 pluses less 6 minuses)

TAKE ACTION

This election is very important. None of the slate of candidates is perfect. No mere man or woman is perfect, far from it. There is only one good and perfect being – God.

First and foremost register to vote.

Next, study the issues, study the candidates. Identify the issues that are important to you. See where the candidates stand on the issues. Two good websites for determining where the candidates are on the key issues are OnTheIssues and Smart Voter. Assign pluses (+) or minuses (-) on the key issues of import to you. Add up the pluses and the minuses and see who would represent you the best in the U.S. Senate.

Finally, make A Good Choice on November 7th.

Handcuffing the Illegal Alien Invasion

Neither our President nor our Senators seem to get it. It has been 5 years since 9/11. Why don’t we have our borders secured yet? There are some in the U.S. House of Representatives that get it. The President seems bent on establishing his North American Union. The Senate just seems to ferment.

There are between 10 and 15 million illegal aliens sucking the life and jobs out of this country. Projections are worse. The politicians only see votes or only see fat contribution checks. I see red. I see my tax dollar being unnecessarily diverted to lawbreakers – both the illegal aliens and their co-conspirators: greedy lawbreaking businesses and ineffective government bureaucrats.

What is the solution? Number one is to demand that our elected representatives do something about the problem.

First, our representatives need to rescind any agreement that the President or they have made with Canada or Mexico that takes away our sovereignty. Conduct an investigation as to how this North American Union business was initiated. To me this smacks of treason or traitorous behavior. RETAIN U.S. SOVEREIGNTY!

Second, we need to “fence” us in – literally and figuratively. Build that fence and man those borders. Stop the flow of illegal aliens. Build the fence the entire length of our southern border if necessary. SECURE OUR BORDERS!

Third, begin the systematic process of enforcing all of our current immigration laws. Demand that the Immigration & Naturalization Service begin to do their jobs. Have congress conduct an extensive assessment of the operation of INS and demand that they begin to do their job. If not begin to have the heads of those responsible for inaction, dereliction and ineffectiveness. ENFORCE ALL EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS!

Fourth, begin to prosecute every business and individual who employees an illegal alien. Take away their business licenses and close their businesses down. Fine the businesses and their owners personally and corporately. Change the law to make fines and penalty more punitive if necessary to get businesses and peoples attention. JAIL EMPLOYER-LAWBREAKERS!

Fifth, begin the process of immediately and expeditiously deporting any illegal alien caught committing additional criminal acts beginning with drug pushers, slave traders etc. Clear out our prisons of any illegal aliens. Establish contracts with foreign countries such as India, to establish prisons for illegal aliens. This is one area in which outsourcing makes real sense. We could pay for prisons to be built as well as pay a per-prisoner maintenance cost. It would be much more efficient and cost effective that what we are now paying. We could put “honest” American criminals such as ACLU lawyers and abortionists in jail in those cells we empty by outsourcing illegal alien prisoners (I’m only half joking here.) ZERO TOLERANCE - IMMEDIATELY DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS FOUND COMMITTING ADDITIONAL CRIMES!

Sixth, conduct an independent investigation of the drug smuggling and identify where in the government there are people being paid off by drug lords even if the investigation has to include the White House, State and Federal law enforcement agencies. I suspect that many people are looking the other way. Let’s protect the children of this nation and handcuff the drug suppliers, smuggler, and pushers. FIND OUT WHO'S LETTING THE DRUG DOGS IN!

Seventh, begin the deportation process one-by-one of all illegal aliens here. We could set up some type of trial process where we give the aliens a chance to prove that they would be more than they would take from America. If it is clear that they are more takers than they need to be deported and given the necessary information as how to reapply legally. In a show of compassion, if the illegal aliens do not have bus faire or plane fare, provide them with te necessary fare. This will still be cheaper in the long run. BEGIN DEPORTATION ONE BY ONE!

Eighth, establish some type of limited guest worker program for jobs that can’t be filled by Americans. Do this only after all the previous steps have been accomplihed. Illegal aliens must first leave the country to be eligible to apply for any guest worker program. ONLY THEN ESTABLISH A LEGAL GUEST WORKER PROGRAM!

As an aside, require as a condition for welfare recipients to receive benefits, some work obligation for all able bodied welfare recipients to work.

What do you think?

TAKE ACTION:

(1) Learn about the extent of the illegal alien problem. Three good resources are:

* Numbers USA
* Federation for American Immigration Reform

* Immigration Stance

(2) Elect only those representatives and Senators who have demonstrated that they have done something about the illegal alien invaders or who will pledge to do something about it.

(3) Sign this petition to your party leaders demanding that they do something about the immigration problem now. I did yesterday.

Rosie is Right, True Christianity is Radical

This is the 100th article posted on this blog. We began six months ago and recently passed the 1,000 unique hits mark. Thanks to the visitors and contributors.

S everal weeks ago Rosie O’Donnell on the ABC TV show, the View, compared radical Islamic-terrorist-fundamentalism with that of radical Christianity. At first blush I felt anger and vehement disagreement with her controversial comparison. However, in thinking more about it I concluded that she, in fact, is right. To be a true “believing” Islamic-terrorist requires that you either be hopped up on drugs or have a total dedication and commitment to your (albeit false) beliefs that killing innocents will get you a couple of dozen virgins and an eternity of pleasure in the great beyond. I do not believe that any Imam would support the use of drugs, so that leaves only one reason – undying (or in some cases a dying) commitment to the cause.

Likewise, Jesus Christ requires us to die to self and to be totally committed to Him. In order to tap into that abundant life that He offers, we must wholehearted follow Him and obey His sometimes radical requests – sell all that you own and follow Me, give generously, leave your mother and father and go where I send you, invest in others by making disciples, etc. The commitment that Jesus asks of each true believer is every bit as radical as Osama Bin Laden asks of his followers. The difference is what awaits us in eternity. More likely than not for the dedicated Islamic-terrorist like Abu Musab al-Zarqawi it is the unquenchable fires of hell and worse, eternal separation from God. For the true Christian it is everlasting fellowship with the God of the universe that awaits us. That is the stark difference between “good” versus “evil”. We are declared to be good through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and our personal appropriation of that provision and commitment to Him.

First of all, there is a difference between true Christianity and all other religions. Our Fore Fathers knew the Judeo-Christian principles to be true and they based much of our nation’s original governmental structure and laws on biblical principles and precepts. Most of the Founders of this nation intimately knew God and knew the contents of the bible, being very biblically literate people.

True Christianity, when all is said and done involves a personal relationship between an individual and a Sovereign, Eternal God. One cannot be a true Christian, who has not followed the biblical mandate to be redeemed by Jesus Christ as the true gospel proclaims.

Christianity, to many people is just a religion. Mere religion offers a set of beliefs and guidelines to live by to “earn” a right to some earthly or eternal reward. However, in true Christianity, a true believer has through the saving work and power of Jesus Christ has been “accepted” and redeemed, made whole, by God. Christianity, because of this, is truly unique. As true Christians and out of the commitment and relationship that we have with the Creator Himself, and out of love for our fellow human beings are to love others as Jesus loved us, we act. Out of this love came the first schools using the bible as the main textbook, including Harvard, which was at one time a Christian school, numerous hospitals and other charitable works. This is the legacy that revisionist of American History wants to purge.

For over 100 years now this nation has been moving away from our roots – our Christian heritage and values - and have allowed the likes of John Dewey, Margaret Sanger (eugenicist and founder of Planned Parenthood), Charles Darwin, and Roger Baldwin (ACLU founder) and extreme liberally biased and godless judges beginning with the likes Earl Warren and the disastrous leftward turn of the supreme and other courts of our land to reshape America. We have been remade in the image of man rather than God. God, the Creator, has been deliberately and stealthily replaced by an far inferior god, man. Regrettably, inferior Secular Humanism, which serves as much of the presupposition, basis, and creed of today’s Liberalism Religion, has replaced Christianity and ultimately God as the final authority in much of our society including our schools, courts and many of our businesses.

The radical Anti-American ACLU has consistently and systematically attempted to minimize and even remove all influence of Christians and Christianity from government and the public arena. They demand that we be tolerant of all diverse groups and opinions except one – that of true faith-based Christianity, which is the unspoken “public enemy number one” of the ACLU, the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and the People for the American Way, George Soros, and the powerful purveyors of perversion in Hollywood, the internet and television, especially unregulated cable, and the slanted and biased Main Stream Media.

Many of us fail, but this still is our mandate from God. I believe that this is why God has so blessed the United States of America for nearly.200 years, it is because this country was founded by true Christians and on biblical principles and precepts and was established to honor God and to be a shining light on a hill for the entire world to marvel at the outworking of a people and nation dedicated to the one true God. This is the sad state of America today. Still I believe that it is not too late for America to regain her former footing, glory and godliness.

William Bennett’s latest book title says a lot “American: the Last Best Hope.” However, my clarion call to believers and would-be believers is: “True Christianity: the Only Hope for America.”

No Special Rights for Homosexuals

T here is a group in Indiana that describes themselves as "lovingly opposing the homosexual agenda” … This group says that it is being formed because of “the negative impact of:

“i. ... special rights initiatives on all businesses and property owners, with a particularly negative impact on faith-based and faith-inspired businesses
and property owners.

“ii. … special rights initiatives on every citizen's constitutionally protected rights to freedom of expression, freedom of religion and freedom of assembly.

“iii. … the practice of homosexuality on the individuals who practice it and on the rest of the society.”

We can just look at Massachusetts and California for a preview of the things to come if we sit back and let the homosexual agenda be fully implemented:

· In California with the recently signed law by Gov. Terminator, church-related schools must not refuse to hire homosexual or lesbian teachers. The liberal state legislature insured that the state trumps the principles and belief systems of the faith-based organizations.

· In Massachusetts the Catholic Church was forced out of the adoption “business”, because it is now unlawful in that state to “discriminate” against not placing children with homosexual “couples” regardless of the beliefs of the church or organization.

Homosexuality is primarily a behavioral choice. It is insulting to blacks, woman, the aged and the disabled to consider the immoral practice of homosexuality as needing special civil rights protection. Do we protect prostitution or murderers, or thieves or drug dealers with special protection using civil rights law? Absolutely not! Homosexuality is absolutely wrong. It is an immoral and chosen lifestyle. I am not saying that homosexuals or lesbians, themselves are evil. But I am saying that the act and its practice are essentially evil. Our society has already gone much too far in condoning this immoral behavior.

REVULSION NOT HOMOPHOBIA

A phobia is defined as a "an irrational, excessive, and persistent fear of some thing or situation.” Revulsion, on the other hand, is defined as "an abrupt, strong reaction; especially, disgust." Homosexuality is a wrong behavioral choice. Homosexuals and lesbians themselves are not evil. But the behavior they practice is immoral and abhorrent.

ESSENCE OF THE BATTLE OF WORLDVIEWS

It is apex of the battle for the future of the culture.

On one side you have those calling evil good and doing all they can to justify immoral behavior. This worldview sees man as ultimate authority in matters of life. This worldview is based on moral relativism [ which "takes the position that moral or ethical propositions do not reflect absolute and universal moral truths, but instead make claims relative to social, cultural, historical or personal circumstances.”

On the other side you have those who call evil evil and good good. These are the people who have a worldview based on the recognition that there are moral absolutes. One of them being that homosexuality, the behavior and practice of which is wrong, evil and immoral. These people, and I am unashamedly one of them, believe that there is right and there is wrong, that there are moral absolutes. Much of our government and our laws were built on a solid moral foundation found in the Judeo-Christian bible. Many who hold this worldview hold that God is the ultimate authority and not man.

So, we are dealing with something much greater than opinion. We are dealing with two diametrically opposed belief systems. It is my humble opinion that when you get right down to the nitty-gritty most Americans from 1776 to 2006 have a worldview more in tune with the second described above. However, the a radical leftist liberal minority has been very effective in infecting our judicial system with something very contrary to what Founders of this nation would have wanted - laws based on international law and on the opinions and worldviews of liberal activist judges and men and woman of a secular humanist - man-is-god - persuasion.
Make A Good Choice and don't believe the lie that homosexuality is normal, natural and acceptable. It is not. The above discussion was based on my posts (see post #3643) earlier today on Open Forum, Ohio Politics.

Voice of a Vacationing Values Voter

I attended the Values Voters Briefing in Washington, D.C. held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel (pictured on the left) this past weekend as part of my vacation. I arrived Thursday evening and “battled” D.C. traffic and streets, which was a literal nightmare coming from mostly small town Ohio.

The Briefing was sponsored by the Focus on the Family, Family Research Council Action, the American Family Association and Americans United for Marriage. The briefing started early Friday morning and concluded with an inspiring church service on Sunday with Bishop Harry Jackson providing a great closing message.

The conference included speakers such as Dr. James Dobson (Focus on the Family), Don Wildmon (American Family Association) and Tony Perkins (Family Research Council), Senators Mitt Romney, George Allen, Sam Brownbeck, Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, panels on movies, church involvement in political arena, the media, woman’s issues. In addition pundit Ann Coulter spoke as did radio and TV personality Sean Hannity. However, the last two though very conservative did not have the spiritual fire and biblical basis that the majority of other speakers seemed to have.

What an uplifting and motivated time, I attended a breakout session on healthcare which dealt with alternative values-driven insurance programs. These programs, unlike many current insurance programs would exclude coverage for abortions so that as a policy holder I would not be supporting or subsidizing any abortions or orther morally unacceptable procedures.

Senators Sam Brownbeck and George Allen of all the potential presidential candidates seems to capture my imagination. Both gave excellent presentations.

There seemed to be a general consensus that the Republican Party has for the most part disappointed Christian Conservatives by their inconsistant support for conservative social and economic issues. Although it was agreed that the opposition party was much much worse an alternative.

Senator Rick Santorum was scheduled to speak, but was had a pressing personal/family issue that prohibited him from attending. He did have a video presentation. To me he looked like he was suffering from the incessant attacks from the left, which have been pulling out all stops to defeat him this fall in Pennsylvania. The same could be said about Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave who sponsored the Marriage Protection Amendment and has also been targeted by the left as a must beat in the fall election.

Pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, morally based-education, pro legal immigration, curtailing the rampant sex and violence in the media, are all values that all addressed during the course of the conference. The need for churches to be uninhibited involved in declaring biblical positions on the issues is much needed.

There were many exhibitors, primarily Chirsitian-based including two organizations supporting and encouraging the study of the bible in terms of its importance historically and as literature in public schools as part of the curriculum.

Bishop Jackson capped the conference by challenging us to wake up and to strengthen the things that remain both personally and as a society. We need to turn from our wicked ways and to seek God to provide everything we need to serve society as living alarm clocks, alerting society of the dangers in the world, especially the spiritual dangers around us.

Thoughts on Education – Reform or Revolution?

PRIVATIZING EDUCATION

Maybe we should begin to think about ways to privatize education in America. Public education is a failed bureaucratic quagmire. The greatest nation in the world boasts of failed public education system. The recent “Every Child Let Behind” brainchild of Senator Ted Kennedy and President George Bush has been “successful”.

PRESENT STATE OF EDUCATION

Children are being indoctrinated by a NEA-approved curriculum using textbooks that include much revisionist American history. There were no true Christians among our Fore Fathers. They were all deists and Unitarians. Yeah sure.

Sex education in many school districts use Planned Parenthood produced material. Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the lovers of children, so much so that their chief business is exterminating babies. They promote uninhibited sex to assure a stream of business. Something is wrong with this picture. Abstinence and “saving” oneself for marriage is ridiculed by the educational elite and Hollywood and the record industry and MTV actively promotes a lifestyle that is contrary to what most parents desire for their children.

COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT & PLAN DEVELOPMENT NEEDED

What is needed is a serious unbiased examination of public education. The results would be a clear failure of the present system to teach our children. The solution is not throwing more money on a runaway arson lit forest fire that is ever consuming the brains of our children, but an entire new direction as we begin a new century.

Let’s introduce an expanded voucher program and fund new initiatives perhaps combining limited public education, home-schooling and private or charter schools. Give the parents the support and equip them to design or choose the schooling that would best meet their need. Whatever we are spending per pupil today, provide a voucher and provide parents options of selecting whatever method and means they think would be best for their children to learn: public schools, private schools, home schools, charter schools or some combination. Let them shop competitively.

ESTABLISH CLEAR STANDARDS

Establish crystal clear standards based on best practice nationally and internationally on the basic disciplines and core of knowledge and experience each child should have and filing future needs of the country in terms of vocational and employment needs. This will probably result in a downsized public schools system. Save the best teachers, get rid of the incompetent through teacher testing and raise the standards of public school teachers. Require all public funded teachers to meet new rigid certification standards. Cut the bureaucracy to the bone. Put funds into student-driven education rather than teacher-based union-driven secular humanistic based education.

LIMITING THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT

Get the federal government out of education. Abolish the department of education. Give the power back to the parents to design an educational experience that will meet the unique needs of their particular child. Government should play a secondary role in helping to offer general guidance and provide support for parents and schools in identifying future trends and needs and funding and publicizing best practice activities found domestically and internationally.

CONCLUSION

We need to gradually blow up the current educational system and replace it with a revolutionary new system that is parent designed and chosen student-driven with minimal government involvement other than disseminating best practice information and funding and evaluating innovating approaches and measurement of outcomes.

NECESSARY ACTION

The American educational system is broken and is such a nightmare that no politician on the scene today has the guts to tackle such a problem or take on such a formable opposition in the NEA and AFT unions and federal and state bureaucracies. Neither of the two major parties is principled enough to risk completely alienating any portion of a voting block. Votes are more important than solving problems or doing what is right, unfortunately. That is why we need one or more third parties.

Political Party

Brain Murphy said,

HA! I thank God that people like you hold no sway in the Democratic Party. Here, you have dismissed followers of the social gospel as not being true Christians. Where is your Christian humility? I don't see how you plan to unite Christians, by rejecting certain Christians.Do me and yourself a favor, and drop the "Democrat" label. The Democratic Party has always been about helping others, and I don't understand what you are trying to do, when you run for US Senate as a Democrat. My hunch is that is an insurgent campaign designed to destroy the party.

I would first say that you do not know Mr. Keiser. You have no idea what his intentions are.

Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother ..." (Matthew 10:33-35). Many places in the scripture bear out that we should not intentionally create dissention in the body of Christ. But if one stands up for the unborn against all of their murderers, and against the government with its theft through unjust taxes (which is your "social gospel"), there will naturally be conflict between the true born again believers and the false converts. The landowner will not separate the wheat from the tares until the harvest.

There is nothing wrong with Mr. Keiser's choice to remain in the Democratic Party, even though his views are despised by most in it. Neither of the two major parties represent the values that Mr. Keiser appears to have, and the monopoly that both parties have makes it difficult to for anyone to run as a third party or independent candidate. Democrats and Republicans are given special treatment under the law by Federal Elections commission.

Paul was educated in the ways of the Pharisees. After his conversion, it became his custom to preach in the synagogues (Acts 9:20, 17:17, etc.). Other Christians continued to go the synagogues (Acts 26:11) until they were thrown out (John 16:2). Paul even continued to consider himself a Pharisee (Acts 23:6, 26:5).

911 Miniseries

I just have to comment on this 911 miniseries, The Path to 9/11 on ABC. I did not watch it, nor do I plan to, but I can see from what people are saying that it is propaganda. Some conservatives are saying, “Oh, I have to watch this. If the Democrats don’t want us to see it, then it must be good.” But where did they hear this? The answer is from the same biased news media that they distrust for their supposedly slanted coverage of the war in Iraq. Why believe them about this, then? This false dichotomy is an obvious ploy to get more viewers. They should have been telling everybody to watch John Stossel’s Stupid in America which aired a week or two ago.

Who is Jesus? Is He Real? Or Is He Merely an Image ?

Here is a comment that was made on the Open Forum, Ohio Politics recently. My response below is taken to my published comments (see post #3000) on that forum.

"The concentration of wealth in America, along with tax and minimum wage policies, run counter to certain teachings of Jesus Christ, a new report by a Helena human rights group alleges."

I read the article cited above. What we have is the true gospel of Jesus Christ versus the invented social “gospel” of man, similar to Congressman Brown’s unbiblical liberation or liberal social theological form of Christianity.

We have two different Jesus’.

One Jesus is a real, historic, living Jesus, who is Creator, King and Savior and who currently sits at the right hand of Almighty God always advocating on behalf of His true followers before the Father. This Jesus is mostly concerned with the spiritual health and well being of mankind. This Jesus is also what the bible describes as true God and true man.

The other Jesus is the false invention of radical socialists and ultra liberals both within the organized church and those involved with revolutionary political movements aligned with Marxist philosophy and which once greatly infected South American countries. This philosophy, I believe, now reigns supreme in many of America’s mainline denominations and so-called “religious” leaders such as “Rev”. Barry Lind, “Rev”. Jesse Jackson, “Rev.” Al Sharpton. or even new American Episcopal Bishop Katharine Jefferts on whom we wrote a previous article here on AGC. [The Democratic Party has seen the political advantage of trying to persuade the "religious" vote and has developed its own website to deceive some Christians into believe that Democrats stand for some Christian principles. I looked at the website and it is merely a ploy when you look at the real Democratic platform.]

Yes, it is true that there is poverty is America, both physical and spiritual. When Jesus said that He came to give abundant life, He did not mean abundant physical wealth, but spiritual power and purpose. Therefore while one Jesus emphasized overcoming spiritual death or poverty. The other Jesus is a tool in the hand of politicians using a façade of religiosity to accomplish its perverse and sorted political agenda.

As true Christians and out of the love that we have for God, we ought to naturally and liberally share our wealth and ourselves with those in need. I agree . . . that we Americans do not share enough. But to say we have true poverty in America as in Burkina Faso where people earn and live on one dollar a day, you’ve got to be kidding me. Any welfare recipient is a prince in comparison with the typical worker in a truly impoverished part of the world.

At a time in our history, which was not that long ago, when true Christianity and Christian love was much more “acceptable” and more typical here in the U.S. lending a hand to a neighbor was more common than today. I credit the radical liberal deliberate and calculated quashing of American values with such such destructive movements as taking God and Prayer out of the Schools, allowing and advocating Abortion on Demand, giving homosexuality legitimacy, etc. as a major contribution to the demise or diminishment of the Christian influence. I also think a major contribution was also made by true Christians who apathetically stood by and watch American values get trampled on. What is needed is a true return to American values and a revival in the lives of every Christian to return to the worship and love of the true God and to practicing real love and concern for our neighbors.

Unfortunately, neither party today offers such a platform or has such a mandate. It is too bad we have to choose between the lesser of two evils. In my mind I believe we need a third party such as the Ohio Constitution Party that stands on biblically-based principles to lead us back to where we were, instead of the two current parties taking us to where we should not go – leading to our eventual annihilation as a people.

Another writer on the same forum responded to my remarks above:

"Creator, King, Savior???: Where did you dig that up from? Not from THE bible or a recital (Qu'ran), eh?"

My response to this comment included the following:

Let’s have a mini bible study this Lord’s Day using the sacred Judeo-Christian scriptures:

First, please note what the Bible says about itself: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16, New KJV) This is my source and the best source for morality and the necessary principles that guide and govern all human life.

1. JESUS IS KING – “Therefore Pilate said to Him, "So You are a king?" Jesus answered, " You say correctly that I am a king For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." (Matthew 18:37 KJV)

2. JESUS IS CREATOR: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1 KJV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 KJV) “10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:10-14 New KJV)

3. JESUS IS SAVIOR: “22"After He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, 'I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.' 23"From the descendants of this man, according to promise, God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus. ( Acts 13:22-23 NASB)

The bottom line is this: Jesus is not merely a concept, or a good, holy wise man, He is not merely one of many prophets. Jesus is God, He is the Creator of all, He is the (one and only) Savior of the world, He is King (He will return to rule and reign on this earth.) This is why I so adamantly differentiate between true biblical Jesus and Christianity, and the watered down, unbiblical, neutered, liberalized version of Jesus and Christianity, which unfortunately has captured the heart and minds of so many Americans. This is also why all other belief systems are inferior and hopeless in terms of eternity repercussions for the souls of men and women.

Have You Seen A Good Movie Lately?

***** M o v i e s that I n s p i r e *****

On the e-the-People Public Forum one writer recently wrote an interesting article asking "What do you find inpirational?" That article "inspired" me to reflect on what movies I have seen and felt were inspirational.

The overwhelming majority of films produced today by Hollywood and others are simply trash. These days very few movies are worth spending time or money to see. Actually Hollywood is on the leading edge of the wave that is destroying America. We should not fund Hollywood's perversion. We should boycott all films that are not wholesome or uplifting.

I do not go to the movies very much and I have not had my television hooked up for over a year, but from time to time I will purchase a movie. I have seen the following list of movies at least once and I do own them.

My Top Ten

The Abortion Issue: A Woman's Right to Choose to Kill versus A Baby's Right to Life

In a recent discussion on the Dayton Daily News' Speak Up! Forum the following statement struck me in response to the argument made that the woman has the right to do anything she wants to her body. One writer audaciously contended that a woman has sovereignty over her body including the fetus, and despairingly referred to the baby as a "parasitic appendage". The simple fact of the matter is that . . .

". . . an unborn baby has its own human DNA which makes them another person all together.”

Doesn't that say everything?

Besides a separate heart, brain, and having feelings and movement, a baby also has unique DNA. Wow that spoke to me. Because twins may have the same DNA it certainly does not disprove the fact that every baby is completely human.

The hottest selling bumper sticker comes from New York state:

Republicans put it on the front bumper.
