No Special Rights for Homosexuals

T here is a group in Indiana that describes themselves as "lovingly opposing the homosexual agenda” … This group says that it is being formed because of “the negative impact of:

“i. ... special rights initiatives on all businesses and property owners, with a particularly negative impact on faith-based and faith-inspired businesses
and property owners.

“ii. … special rights initiatives on every citizen's constitutionally protected rights to freedom of expression, freedom of religion and freedom of assembly.

“iii. … the practice of homosexuality on the individuals who practice it and on the rest of the society.”

We can just look at Massachusetts and California for a preview of the things to come if we sit back and let the homosexual agenda be fully implemented:

· In California with the recently signed law by Gov. Terminator, church-related schools must not refuse to hire homosexual or lesbian teachers. The liberal state legislature insured that the state trumps the principles and belief systems of the faith-based organizations.

· In Massachusetts the Catholic Church was forced out of the adoption “business”, because it is now unlawful in that state to “discriminate” against not placing children with homosexual “couples” regardless of the beliefs of the church or organization.

Homosexuality is primarily a behavioral choice. It is insulting to blacks, woman, the aged and the disabled to consider the immoral practice of homosexuality as needing special civil rights protection. Do we protect prostitution or murderers, or thieves or drug dealers with special protection using civil rights law? Absolutely not! Homosexuality is absolutely wrong. It is an immoral and chosen lifestyle. I am not saying that homosexuals or lesbians, themselves are evil. But I am saying that the act and its practice are essentially evil. Our society has already gone much too far in condoning this immoral behavior.

REVULSION NOT HOMOPHOBIA

A phobia is defined as a "an irrational, excessive, and persistent fear of some thing or situation.” Revulsion, on the other hand, is defined as "an abrupt, strong reaction; especially, disgust." Homosexuality is a wrong behavioral choice. Homosexuals and lesbians themselves are not evil. But the behavior they practice is immoral and abhorrent.

ESSENCE OF THE BATTLE OF WORLDVIEWS

It is apex of the battle for the future of the culture.

On one side you have those calling evil good and doing all they can to justify immoral behavior. This worldview sees man as ultimate authority in matters of life. This worldview is based on moral relativism [ which "takes the position that moral or ethical propositions do not reflect absolute and universal moral truths, but instead make claims relative to social, cultural, historical or personal circumstances.”

On the other side you have those who call evil evil and good good. These are the people who have a worldview based on the recognition that there are moral absolutes. One of them being that homosexuality, the behavior and practice of which is wrong, evil and immoral. These people, and I am unashamedly one of them, believe that there is right and there is wrong, that there are moral absolutes. Much of our government and our laws were built on a solid moral foundation found in the Judeo-Christian bible. Many who hold this worldview hold that God is the ultimate authority and not man.

So, we are dealing with something much greater than opinion. We are dealing with two diametrically opposed belief systems. It is my humble opinion that when you get right down to the nitty-gritty most Americans from 1776 to 2006 have a worldview more in tune with the second described above. However, the a radical leftist liberal minority has been very effective in infecting our judicial system with something very contrary to what Founders of this nation would have wanted - laws based on international law and on the opinions and worldviews of liberal activist judges and men and woman of a secular humanist - man-is-god - persuasion.
Make A Good Choice and don't believe the lie that homosexuality is normal, natural and acceptable. It is not. The above discussion was based on my posts (see post #3643) earlier today on Open Forum, Ohio Politics.

  1. The best thing to do to defeat liberal congressmen and activist judges is to pass laws clearly defining the law as the citizenry wants it.

Go vote for Marriage Amendments and support them with all vigor!

  2. Hi Nick -

    Thanks for your comment.

I agree. This past weekend I heard Marilyn Musgrave speak. She is on the front line and is being targeted by the left for defeat in the November election. People like her are very worthy of all our prayers and support.

Congressman Sherrod Brown running for Senator from Ohio is the opposite and must be defeated. I understand that there are marriage amendments on the ballot in 7 or 8 states this fall.

  3. You said,"I am not saying that homosexuals or lesbians, themselves are evil." But Romans 1:28 says, "...he gave them over to a depraved mind,..."
There is only One who is good. (Matthew 19:17)

  4. Hi Matt -

    Thanks for your comment.

Yes, only God is truly good. In comparison you can conclude that all men are sinful. I would not necessarily call them evil. Satan and the demons are the true personification of evil, because they have no hope of salvation. I guess God is the final judge of who is truly evil.

However, Jesus still loved even the vilest of sinners - tax collectors, prostitutes, thieves etc. We are all sinners, who all have an opportunity to be redeemed by the blood of Jesus until we breathe our last breath. So I guess I believe that I am to hate the sin, mine and others, yet I am to love the sinner.

You are right when it comes down to it; there is no one who is truly good except God. I guess I hesitate to call someone evil, though it seems obvious and tempting to do so at times. Yet, there but for the grace of God go I. I still struggle with my lower nature and God knows I am not always “good” in and of myself. My righteousness comes from Jesus alone.

I have lots of gay friends. I can't see why they can't be in loving, married relationships. But then, I don't believe that rules from nomadic, barbarian civizations should organize our world, anymore than Jefferson did. And if you are going to use the old testament to decide things then why isn't slavery okay? How do you get to pick and choose which parts of the OT god's book you have to follow? The hypocrisy of you modern xtians is fascinating. When you die and cross over I suspect you will find out some of the truth isn't what you want it to be. I could be wrong. The difference between us is that you need to make me follow your rules, and I don't have that need. I am confident in my world without needing your acquiescence. Sad.

  6. Hi Anon @ 12:27 pm 9/30/06:

    Thank you for your comment.

First homosexuals and lesbians manifest a deviant and perverse lifestyle. It is not normal, it is not natural, and it is not genetic. It is learned behavior. It is primarily a behavioral choice. This lifestyle in some cases was foisted on or deeply influenced when a child was exploited by some homosexual or pedophiliac neighbor, relative, teacher, acquaintance or stranger.

My friend, you seem to imply that Christianity is some “nomadic, barbarian civizations”. Quite the contrary, it is the very catalyst and reason for the success and greatness of Western civilization, and especially America.

Yes, in the Old Testament, God did allow Israel to possess slaves, but they were to follow some very stringent rules in that regard. The overall preponderance of the rest of scripture negates the appropriateness of slavery for today.

Yes, in the final analysis death will reveal which of us is right. We shall meet the true and Supreme Judge of the Universe and He will expect an accounting of what we did with our lives, talents and treasures which He blessed us with.
