If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for entering and remaining in the country illegally — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If  you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or to take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion — you might live in a  nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you MUST show your identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor, or check out a library book and rent a video, but not to vote for who runs the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If the government wants to prevent stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines that hold more than ten rounds, but gives twenty F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If, in the nation’s largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not one 24-ounce soda, because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat —  you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by  idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman or a three-year-old girl who is confined to a wheelchair can be strip-searched by the TSA at the airport, but a woman in a burka or a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched — you might  live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If a seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is “cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government regulation and intrusion, while not working is rewarded with Food Stamps, WIC checks, Medicaid benefits, subsidized housing, and free cell phones — you might  live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If the  government’s plan for getting people back to work is to provide incentives for not working, by granting 99 weeks of unemployment checks, without any requirement to prove that gainful employment was diligently sought, but couldn’t be found — you might live in a nation that was founded by  geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you pay  your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big-screen TV, while your neighbor buys iPhones, time shares, a wall-sized do-it-all plasma screen TV and new cars, and the government forgives his debt when he  defaults on his mortgage — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If being stripped of your Constitutional right to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

Our Growing, Groping Government

I was on twitter earlier today and found a link to something interesting on the Obama White House’s website.
 

InfoWars.com states the following, “A petition to abolish the TSA has appeared on the White House.gov website, with the massive response evidence of how infuriated Americans have become at being groped not only at airport, but also highways, sports stadiums and at other public venues.

“The petition appears on the “We The People” section of WhiteHouse.gov, a new feature intended to be “a new, easy way for Americans to make their voice heard in our government.””

Abolish the TSA, and use its monstrous budget to fund more sophisticated, less intrusive counter-terrorism intelligence.

The Transportation Security Administration has been one of the largest, most expensive and most visible blunders of the post-9-11 homeland security reformation. It has

·         violated countless constitutional rights of average Americans,

·         caused miserable and expensive delays in an already-overburdened air travel system, and

·         allowed multiple known instances of harassment, theft, extortion and sexual abuse by its employees.

·         It has failed approximately 70% of undercover efficacy tests, and for all its excesses, has been unable to catch even a single terrorist since its creation.

In our current economic situation, we can no longer afford to continue wasting taxpayer dollars on this Kafkaesque embarrassment. Let us instead invest in saner, more effective solutions.

Body Scanners used by TSA are a danger

Dr. Russell Blaylock is a nationally recognized board-certified neurosurgeon, health practitioner, author, lecturer, and editor of The Blaylock Wellness Report wrote an article on NewsMaxHealth.com entitled, “Body Scanners More Dangerous Than Feds Admit.” Here is a small portion of his NewsMaxHealth.com article:

“The growing outrage over the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s new policy of backscatter scanning of airline passengers and “enhanced pat-downs” brings to mind these wise words from President Ronald Reagan: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.’”

 

“So, what is all the concern really about — will these radiation scanners increase your risk of cancer or other diseases? A group of scientists and professors from the University of California at San Francisco voiced their concern to Obama’s science and technology adviser John Holdren in a well-stated letter back in April.

 

“The group included experts in radiation biology, biophysics, and imaging, who expressed “serious concerns” about the “dangerously high” dose of radiation to the skin …”

Airline Sales Down on Thanksgiving

If you didn’t have to fly this Thanksgiving, then you have something to be thankful for. 

Yesterday was “Opt Out Day”, the point of which was to choose not to go through the X-Ray scanner to hold up the line so much that the TSA would stop this requirement to fly.  After several rousing rounds of “I’ll be groped for Christmas”, the MSM now reports that this “Opt Out Day” protest was a failure, and I can see why.  It is because most people wisely decided not to fly at all.  Hopefully the airline industry will lobby Congress to do away with the TSA.  Profiling groups more likely to commit acts of terror might be a good way to stop terrorism without invasion of privacy, but I don’t want the Government to be one who decides who gets profiled and who doesn’t.  We need to turn airline security back over to airlines and allow them to decide what methods to use.  An airline won’t chose to use methods which are too invasive, too expensive, inefficient, or too time consuming.  If it does, people will choose another airline.  But the airlines are the ones who lobbied Congress to create the TSA in the first place.  Why?  So that the government would foot the bill for the security.  But now the chickens have come home to roost.  For all this invasiveness, a loaded gun magazine was recently found on a passenger plane!

The ACLU, usually the enemy of freedom and liberty is on our side on this particular issue.  But if you are a Christian who has been inappropriately photographed and/or groped and you don’t want to support the God-haters of the ACLU, then I’ve got tip for you.  Contact the Rutherford Institute.
