The Crash Dummies and the American Economy

Obama, Boehner, McConnell, and Reid are driving the American Economy car, floored and headed straight for the cliff to join grandma ... Who do they think they are? Crash Dummies? I did not mean to besmirch the Crash Dummies.

The Debt "Deal" did nothing for the economy or to cut government overspending. The so-called agreed to "cuts" are meaningless and will never happen. The "leaders" have just succeeded only to boot the can further down the road  ...

I understand that the base line increase in the FY 2012 budget will be reduced by only $7 Billion. Only in Wasting-a-ton, D.C. could that be considered a draconian cut by the likes of smiling Chuck Shumer and the vile Debbie Wasserman Schultz!!

I’m glad I filled up my car’s gas tank this weekend, paying an unnecessarily exorbitant $3.729/gallon. But $.271 later and somewhere in Wasting-a-ton, D.C.  our increasingly controversial, unpopular, and inept President is rejoicing with the high cost of this American mainstay. It is what he wanted. However, it is not what We the People want …

Mr. President, it is not the speculators, who are to blame. It is not B.P.'s or Big Oil’s fault. It is you and your fiercely flawed domestic policies coming from the extremist environmentalist led Environmental Protection Agency that deserves the credit. 

If America can survive the next year and a half under your non-leadership, hopefully the vast majority of Americans will regain some semblance of sense (since we are losing our cents) and fire you and your Congressional cronies in November 2012! 

The Washington way: The story of the three contractors

This modern day parable, repeated below, was sent to me this weekend by T.D., friend of this blog. It is very illustrative to how things work in Wasting-a-ton, D.C.!

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. 

One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota. 

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence.  

The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me." 

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me." 

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700." 

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?" 

The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."  

"Done!" replies the government official.  

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan works.

Which disaster is worse, the Gulf or Washington?

It is Washington, by far, that is the bigger disaster. The trillions of wasted spending the past year or so. The regulations that will pour out of the EPA and the Secretary of Health and Human Services Office and other agencies will suffocate the live out of this nation and its businesses. The needless bailouts, pork, crony-capitalism, Alinsky radicalism that has crept into all areas of our government, that is the real deadly disaster - a man made disaster - that has been unleashed on America. It was fomenting even prior to the current regime's ascendancy to power. However, what the current administration or regime is doing to America makes the oil spill in the Gulf look like a drip or drop in the bucket.

Biden Time

Jeff Dunham is a funny comedian. I watched one of his videos, which I received from a coworker. One of his characters is Walter, a crotchety and sarcastic old man. AIG: Bailout, Bonuses & Blame

The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch newspaper runs a regular feature called the Hot Issue, where they ask their readers a question of interest and ask them to answer the question and comment on their answer. Here is the question of the day and my answer.

The Hot Issue:

"Should companies receiving federal government bailout funds be banned from paying bonuses?"

My Response:

No – if there were pre-existing contracts in place and the government lacked due diligence and failed to stipulate something to the contrary as with AIG. Yes, if the government makes it absolutely clear upfront.

The Soetoro (a/k/a Obama) Administration being in such a hurry to "help" the economy failed miserably in establishing the proper criteria. It is the chief tax evader, Timothy Geithner, who should be held accountable for this terrible oversight.

A better question to ask is, “Should government be banned from doling out bailouts to companies, when that government does not have the finances to do so and cannot do so without incurring unconscionable amount of debt?” That, I think, would be the more appropriate question to ask!

But then, what do you expect from Wasting-a-ton, D.C.?

(Columbus, Ohio AGC News) The first 'Ohio Tea Party' was held this mild pre-spring morning on the steps of the state capitol in Columbus, Ohio. A Tea Party was held in the city of Cleveland earlier this year. The Tea Party Movement was born out of the deep frustration expressed by one news reporter on CNBC, Rick Santelli. He suggested that Americans join him in Chicago in a new Tea Party, protesting the tyrannical spending and misappropriations of the Soetoro (a/k/a Obama) Administration. This was in reaction to the bank bailouts, government induced mortgage crisis, and so-called stimulus (spending) bill.

Well, it came to Columbus, Ohio. Approximately 200 souls showed up for this event. The event was coordinated by the Ohio chapter of the Americans for Prosperity (AFP). A myriad of sign were displayed by men, women, and children, typical Americans. What struck me was the fact that there were what appeared to me were five or six mounted riot police standing by to quell any violence. Gee, the only violence is being done inside the Ohio Capitol and the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Generational theft, fiscal child abuse and a wanton desire to inflict socialism on America is the real violence that the mounted police should be trying to thwart.

Above are some photos I took of this event, which promises to be part of a growing movement across America. Thank goodness we still have true patriotic congressmen like U.S. Representative Jim Jordan, who spoke at the event.

The next Ohio Tea Party will be held on Wednesday, April 15th, again on the steps of the Ohio State Capitol Building as well as in over 115 other cities across this nation. My hope is that ten times or more Americans will be there to protest the terrorist, traitorous tactics of the regime currently ruling in Wasting-a-ton, D.C.
