Run the Race, Movie (2019)

Just watched the former college football star and professional football and baseball player and Christian role-model Tim Tebow produced movie, Run the Race today. The movie premiered last Friday with over $2 million in box office receipts after the first weekend. It is currently showing in theaters this week.
Race to Run is PG-rated, faith-based and is a sports-themed movie.  It centers on two high school brothers, David and Zach, who are living on their own after their mother died and their father, Michael, abandoned them.
The story revolves around high school football (of course) and track.  The two brothers are both hard-working athletes who are intent on getting out their small poor rural Southern community. Both are football players.  Dave had a serious head injury earlier and he is one of the team’s managers. Zach is the star quarterback of his high school football team.
The acting is very good and believable.  It is a story of dealing with the ups and downs of life, with forgiveness, dedication, love and hope.
It is a wholesome movie, in contrast with what is being produced by Hollywood today.  It is a fast-paced movie with interesting plot twists and turns.  It is entertaining as well as uplifting.
The movie could be summarized with this one verse:
"I have fought well. I have finished the race, and I have been faithful."  ~ 2 Timothy 4:7

I would recommend the movie and give it 5 of 5 stars *****.

A Good News Story: Pam Didn’t Abort Her Baby Boy

I saw the following story in the Friday Daily Brief of the Capitol Hill Prayer Partners.

A woman named Pam . . . knows the pain of considering abortion.

More than 24 years ago, she and her husband Bob were serving as missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth child. Pam contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in contaminated food or drink. She went into a coma and was treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered she was pregnant.

Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage to her baby. She refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted. Pam said the doctors didn't think of it as a life, they thought of it as a mass of fetal tissue.
While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her husband: If you will give us a son, we'll name him Timothy and we'll make him a preacher.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14, 1987. Pam's youngest son is indeed a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes hospital visits, and serves with his father's ministry in the Philippines. He also plays football. Pam's son is Tim Tebow.
The University of Florida's star quarterback became the first sophomore in history to win college football's highest award, the Heisman Trophy. His current role as quarterback of the Denver Broncos has provided an incredible platform for Christian witness. As a result, he is being called The Mile-High Messiah.

Tim's notoriety and the family's inspiring story have given Pam numerous opportunities to speak on behalf of women's centers across the country. Pam Tebow believes that every little baby you save matters.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!
Breaking News!

The Lord is now using this young Denver Broncos quarterback to draw attention to Himself!!

In last week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tebow -- who is known for his display of JOHN 3:16 when he plays, and who BOWS TO THE LORD during each game -- threw the winning pass in overtime of 316 yards! 316 -- there's that number, again!
The NFL fans across the nation went crazy! Suddenly, everyone went to Google and typed in: JOHN 3:16! What was this Bible verse that Tebow wears? And what does it say??
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
As the sportscasters continued to analyze this amazing game, they discovered that Tebow also averaged 31.6 yards per completion. And to top it off, the Neilsen rating for the last 15 minutes of that game was: 31.6 million viewers!
So, there's that number again: 3:16. Is God speaking from heaven? Does He love us, as the verse promises? And are MANY MULTITUDES now discovering His love through a football game?
It makes you really wonder how many other Tim Tebows, George Washingtons, Albert Einsteins, or Hellen Kellers have been denied life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness all because of the hideous, inhumane, immoral, unethical, God-rejecting, but man-made ‘legal’ abortion ‘procedure.’

NewsBusted: Obama is no Tebow

In last week’s GOP debate Rick Perry compared himself to Tim Tebow. But we here at NewsBusted wonder why nobody has compared President Obama to Tebow.
.
“Probably because whenever Obama drops the ball, he blames someone else!”

What if Tebow was Muslim?

Hat tip goes to www.AnsweringMuslim.com, where I first saw the video below. This YouTube video triggered some good discussion on a local Internet forum and also launched me into wanting to read the article mentioned in the video.

This very thought provoking question was asked a week or so ago by sports writer Jennifer Floyd Engel’s in her article, “What if Tim Tebow was a Muslim?”
I discussed this video today on the Politics Forum at www.Cleveland.com with several other posters. Here are some of back and forth comments:
Tebow is mocked because of his faith. Do the same thing to a Muslim and the the mainstream media (MSM), the ACLU, the DOJ and maybe even President Obama would be all over the perp(s).

PRESIDENT OBAMA SAID: "And I consider part of my responsibility as President of the US to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

What about Christianity or Judaism, Mr. President?
One poster replied,
“Yeah, you poor Christians just have no rights at all in this country!”
My reply was,
Incrementally … yes we are losing our freedoms and liberties. Government wants to be god. It wants more and more people to be dependent on it for their daily sustenance. It wants to be in absolute control of our lives. It has room for God. However, it cannot and will not fill His shoes...
The same poster went on to say,
“Anyone dumb enough to believe Christians are persecuted are wackjobs, which you've more than proven yourself to be numerous times on here.

And (if) Tebow were a Muslim, he'd be the most despised man in America right now. What kind of moronic question is that?”
I responded,
Tebow is disrespected primarily because he dares to bring his faith outside his church into the world. There has been a concerted effort the past 70 or so years to mock, marginalize, minimize God, Christ, Christians, and Christianity by the leftist secular humanists who want to purge all vestiges of truth and light from this society.
And so it went, the media and the other Leftist dominated influencers of this society have targeted Christianity for particular derision, because it goes against their core ideology. They use political correctness to further their agenda. They shun the truth when it does not fit with their agenda. Look at the treatment given to Tim Tebow, it is testimony to this pervasive unhealthy un-American attitude that has been growing in this country.

Born, Born-Again Tim Tebow Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad

.
I came across Nicholas Jackson's article, "Homeschool Evangelism," on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
.
With the SuperBowl coming up tomorrow, Jackson's article has relevance to one controversial pro-life commercial featuring homeschooled Christian Tim Tebow.

Here are the opening two paragraphs of Jackson's timely article:

"Being from Ohio, I have a natural dislike for the SEC and particularly Florida football. My favorite team Ohio State lost to Florida in the BCS national championship in 2007 and to LSU the following year. Putting aside my hatred for Florida football, it’s hard not to like Tim Tebow. As a Christian, I have watched with interest how the media responded to his decision to put Bible verses on his eye black, (it generated 94 million searches on Google), or his decision to eschew the temptations in college football, and remain a virgin. Now he will have a pro-life Super bowl ad, on one of the largest stages, celebrating his mother’s decision to choose life. The more I hear about Tebow the man; the more it becomes clear that something is different about him. He shows more boldness than most pastors."

While Tebow is not perfect, I thank God for his testimony and that he was not socialized in the government schools. The results of decades of government school influence and “socialization,” has been culturally catastrophic for our nation . . ."
