Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin. Movie (2024)

 

As a boy, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, is portrayed in the new Bonhoeffer movie, as aggressive, energetic and loving. As a man he is depicted as an open minded, eclectic, energetic, fearless, uncompromising, and who stood for and on the truth.

He lived in Germany in the early part of the 20^th century. There were several scenes in the movie where Bonhoeffer visited several countries including the United States and the United Kingdom. He even is seen playing the piano in a jazz club in the U.S.

He belonged to the German Lutheran Church. He was a seminary graduate. He served as a pastor at the time of the rise and bloody reign of Adolf Hitler. Unlike many of his fellow pastors he rejected the church’s subjecting itself to the heavy-handed Hitler. You see Hitler expected the German people and church to bow in reverence to him instead of to the true God. Hitler carried out his plan to exterminate the Jewish race and other inferior persons. Bonhoeffer fought him the best he could.

On the CoachDaveLive.com daily podcast on Monday,10/18/2024, there was a discussion contrasting the 1^st Century Church and the 21^st Century Church. The early church could be characterized by three C’s: courage, confrontation, and conquest. This body of believers at that time were active and involved in what was going on in the culture. Today’s church could also be summarized by 3 C’s: comfort, compromise, and cowardice. Bonhoeffer, as the movie reveals, fits more in the mold of the 1^st Century than today’s Church.

The movie indicts the modern-day church, which for several reasons ignores the moral decay and evil rampant in today’s culture. It uses the Bonhoeffer life story to do just that. Today the Church remains mostly silent on abortion (the murder of pre-born humans), sexual deviancy (taught in our schools and widespread on broadcast and social media), destruction of the family, etc.

Bonhoeffer took a stand against the evil of his day and went to a premature death at the gallows joyfully. Will we and our leaders dare emulate this valent soldier?

The Terror of Islam, Part 1

I recently received an email which encapsulates the threat that emanates from Islam. Islam is not the innocuous “religion of peace’ that some of our politically correct and corrupt politicians make believe that it is. Read the following and contemplate its message: (The highlights are mine.)

 

What Islam Is Not:



Islam, not the Chinese nor the Russians, represents the greatest threat to the world and might be the fulfillment of the book of Revelation in the Holy Bible. This is very disturbing for a Christian to read, but read it and be educated. The following content is adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat.

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components. Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well. Here's how it works:

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be mostly regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens.This is the case in:

United States -- Muslim 0.6%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1.8%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- Muslim 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. . Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:

Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

Albania -- Muslim 70%
Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and is on-going in:

Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%
Egypt -- Muslim 90%
Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%
Iran -- Muslim 98%
Iraq -- Muslim 97%
Jordan -- Muslim 92%
Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan -- Muslim 97%
Palestine -- Muslim 99%
Syria -- Muslim 90%
Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%
Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrassas are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrassas. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.

Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates are higher than the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

Israeli Government Contemplates Eliminating Conscription Exemption for Ultra-Orthodox Jews

Ultra-orthodox Jews are exempt from serving in the Israeli military.  The Israeli government is considering eliminating the exemption.  The other Israeli citizens are saying that it is unfair that they are forced to join the army while the ultra-orthodox Jews are not.  They are right that it is not fair, but it wrong for anyone to be conscripted.  In a free country anyone should be allowed to chose not to serve in the armed forces.  Otherwise the rights of conscience and religious freedom are violated.  Anyone should be allowed to refuse to participate in a war regardless of the reason why and regardless of what country you are from.  In the United States, we have the 13th amendment to our constitution, which forbids involuntary servitude.

I Bid You a Jew

CNN Fires Rick Sanchez for Supposedly Anti-Semitic Comments

In this politically-charged, politically correct environment, if you make one silly or off-hand comment and you are fired!

First Helen Thomas is forced to resign for saying that Jews should go back to where they came from.  She was a perfectly good reporter who asked tough questions of both Republicans and Democrats.  I think that they were both happy to get rid of her.  My comment was, when this story broke, that if I was a Jew living in Israel, I would leave because I wouldn’t want to be killed!  This is a perfectly understandable position to take given the frustrations over the conflict in the Middle East.  Despite an immediate apology, she was gone. 

Then Laura Schlesinger was next.  Giving people advice that they should avoid a situation which they can’t handle was enough to get her fired.  This time it was the Jew who was bid "adieu".

Finally we have Mr. Sanchez.  He said that CNN is run by Jews who have discriminated against him and that John Stewart is a bigot and one of those rich Jews who grew up not knowing what it was like to live in poverty.  He also scoffed at the notion that the Jews are “an oppressed minority”.  Of course in all of the media reports about this story, none of them ever consider whether what Rick said was really true or not.  If what you say is offensive, the truth doesn’t matter.  And it’s not just whether it is offensive, but who is it that is being offended and who it is that said it.   What if CNN really is run by Jews?  Has anybody bothered to look closely at the men and women in charge there?  Has anybody done a serious comparative analysis of the Jews' media...uh I, mean news media... to see if there is a pattern of bias in media outlets which have an inordinate number of Jews in positions of power?  Does the truth matter anymore?  And doesn’t it make a difference whether we are talking Jew by religion or Jew by race?  If we can have a discussion about whether Islam or certain misguided sects of it can be a religion of peace or of hatred, why can’t we have a discussion about whether Judaism or certain misguided sects of it can be driven by greed, shrewdness, or be overly biased toward its own interests?

The song that the little girl is sings in the above video is called "One Day" and was written by Matthew Paul Miller (no, this is not me). Matthew calls himself by his Hebrew name Matisyahu because he is a Jew. The point of this post is that you don't have to be anti-semitic or anti-American in order to be against the wars. Matisyahu has been, over the years, exploring different sects of Judaism. He appears to be open minded and searching for truth. I am praying for his conversion to Christianity and that God will use him bring others to Christ and peace in the Middle East.

Jews Need Jesus

This video illustrates how lost the Jews are. (I am referring to Judaism, not particularly the Jewish race.) Under the Law of Moses, Jews were required to make animal sacrifices for their sins. This is no longer practical because most people don’t have their own animal with which to sacrifice. Even if they did, there is no temple and the necessary articles that are supposed to go into it no longer exist. Jews get around this in various ways according to which sect they belong or which rabbi they follow. There isn’t any place in the Scriptures which says that hitting yourself is an acceptable substitute for blood. (Read Leviticus 5:17-18, 17:11, Jeremiah 8:13) Christ is the only suitable substitute because he sinless and he willingly went to the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
