PC Patsy Pastor Rick Warren Runs from the Truth

Rick Warren: Celebrity, cowardice, and compromise

BEFORE CALIFORNIA PROP 8 ELECTION

The following is a complete transcript of Warren's comments just weeks before the Prop. 8 election a reported in a OneNewsNow.com news article:

"The election's coming just in a couple of weeks, and I hope you're praying about your vote. One of the propositions, of course, that I want to mention is Proposition 8, which is the proposition that had to be instituted because the courts threw out the will of the people. And a court of four guys actually voted to change a definition of marriage that has been going for 5,000 years.

"Now let me say this really clearly: we support Proposition 8 -- and if you believe what the Bible says about marriage, you need to support Proposition 8. I never support a candidate, but on moral issues I come out very clear.

"This is one thing, friends, that all politicians tend to agree on. Both (Barry Soetoro a/k/a) Barack Obama and John McCain, I flat-out asked both of them: what is your definition of marriage? And they both said the same thing -- it is the traditional, historic, universal definition of marriage: one man and one woman, for life. And every culture for 5,000 years, and every religion for 5,000 years, has said the definition of marriage is between one man and a woman.

"Now here's an interesting thing. There are about two percent of Americans [who] are homosexual or gay/lesbian people. We should not let two percent of the population determine to change a definition of marriage that has been supported by every single culture and every single religion for 5,000 years.

"This is not even just a Christian issue -- it's a humanitarian and human issue that God created marriage for the purpose of family, love, and procreation.

"So I urge you to support Proposition 8, and pass that word on. I'm going to be sending out a note to pastors on what I believe about this. But everybody knows what I believe about it. They heard me at the Civil Forum when I asked both (Soetoro a/k/a)Obama and McCain on their views."

Seems like strong support, even an endorsement of Proposition 8, to me. If he said it in his church or anywhere else it still shows his support. At the time I was pleasantly surprised as were many others. He had not spoken much about the marriage protecting proposition previously.

AFTER CRITICISM OF HIS ‘STAND’

Monday night on a TV talk show, Larry King Live, Rick Warren not only back pedals, but seems to be doing multiple back flips reminiscent of an Olympic gold medalist gymnast.

"You know, Larry, there was a story within a story that never got told," he said. "In the first place, I am not an anti-gay or anti-gay marriage activist. I never have been, never will be. During the whole Proposition 8 thing, I never once went to a meeting, never once issued a statement, never – never once even gave an endorsement in the two years Prop 8 was going. The week before the – the vote, somebody in my church said, Pastor Rick, what – what do you think about this? And I sent a note to my own members that said, I actually believe that marriage is – really should be defined, that that definition should be – say between a man and a woman.

"And then all of a sudden out of it, they made me, you know, something that I really wasn't," Warren continued. "And I actually – there were a number of things that were put out. I wrote to all my gay friends – the leaders that I knew – and actually apologized to them. That never got out. There were some things said that – you know, everybody should have 10 percent grace when they say public statements. And I was asked a question that made it sound like I equated gay marriage with pedophilia or incest, which I absolutely do not believe. And I actually announced that. All of the criticism came from people that didn't know me. Not a single criticism came from any gay leader who knows me and knows that for years, we've been working together on AIDS issues and all these other things."

This alleged man of God compromised and refused to call sin, sin. Homosexual behavior is wrong. Same-sex 'marriage' is an insulting violation of the law of God. Warren may have a big church, but he also may be leading many people astray.

Rick Warren Readies for Inaugural Bawl

Cartoon by Chuck Asay found at Townhall.com on 12/24/08

Two weeks from tomorrow, unless God intervenes, Barack Obama will be inaugurated the 44th President of the United States. In what has been seen as both a gesture of unacceptable compromise by true Christians and as offensive to radical advocates of same-sex marriage, Obama has invited mega church high priest Rick Warren to provide the invocation (prayer) invoking God's blessing (?) on the festivities.

Here is a recent article from ChristianWorldViewNetwork.com written by Nick Jackson. Nick is Ohio Coordinator for Exodus Mandate. He graduated in 1997 from Ohio University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He spends time as a free-lance writer on Christian worldview issues. He offers some really good advice.

SUGGESTIONS FOR RICK WARREN'S INAUGURATION PRAYER

Author’s note: Rick Warren has a daunting task ahead of him during his upcoming inaugural prayer for Barack Obama. Here are some brief humble suggestions for him as he prepares for this historic moment. May we be in prayer for Obama’s salvation and national repentance

Lord we begin this year with our heads low and our hearts contrite.

We have neglected your Word and commandments.

Forgive us Lord for embracing “Change” without repentance.

Forgive us for putting “Country First" instead of Christ.

Forgive us for worshiping our presidential choice.

For promoting pragmatism, and endorsing evil.

Remind us our vote is the currency of our virtue.

Forgive us for applauding an Esther (Palin), when she was a sign of God’s judgment.

Remind us that judgment begins at the house of God.

Forgive us for putting our tax exempt status before Christ.

Forgive us for teaching that God is a God of love but not of justice and wrath.

For creating a God in our own image and worshiping him.

For preaching peace, peace when there is no peace.

Forgive us for loving sinners to death, when God says, He hates the workers of iniquity.

Forgive our complacent American Church,

For using the rapture as an excuse for sloth.

For using taxation (coercion) to fight poverty when the Church should be serving them.

Forgive us for making innocent life “above our pay grade.”

For believing “life begins at conception” yet allowing embryo experimentation.

Forgive us Lord for voting single issue on the economy.

Remind us there can be no financial security until there is security in the womb.

Forgive us for having unjust measures, paper money (fiat currency) not backed by gold.

For rewarding covetousness and greed, and squandering our children’s inheritance.

Forgive us for decrying socialism (bailouts) while sending our Christian children to socialist schools.

Forgive us for railing against (same-sex) marriage (which we should) while indulging in pornography and embracing divorce.

Forgive us for battling AIDS (which we should) but neglecting the sin often at its root.

Forgive us for making global warming an idol.

Remind us you are coming in judgment with fire to judge the quick and the dead.
Lord may you use the coming financial storm to judge our idolatry, and make us more reliant on you, not our 401k's.

Use the coming tribulation to shake off the rotten fruit of the corporate, seeker sensitive mega-churches and leave fruit that lasts.

Turn the father’s hearts to their children, and bring true revival to America
Change is coming.

God Bless America,

In Jesus name, Amen

Warren Blasted Left and Right for Accepting Obama’s Inaugural Invocation Invitation

The radical homosexual domestic terrorists are incensed that President-elect -elite Barack Hussein Obama would invite an evangelical to give the invocation at his inauguration. Joseph Farah, founder of WorldNetDaily.com and Christian conservative, wrote an open letter to Pastor Rick Warren of California’s Saddleback Church last week expressing his own “profound and abject revulsion” at Warren’s acceptance of Obama's invitation. Monday he published his thoughts in an article titled, “An open letter to Rick Warren.” Here is a snippet from the article in which he gives his reason why he is so upset over Warren’s decision. You can read the entire article here.

SHOULD RICK WARREN STAND WITH OBAMA?

“. . . Barack Obama is opposed to any and all restrictions on the killing of unborn children and has pledged to work against the few that remain. In fact, as a state legislator in Illinois, he pushed a law that would require the killing of babies born alive after unsuccessful abortions. You know he will also open the floodgates to the use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund abortion overseas through groups like Planned Parenthood and agencies such as the United Nations Population Fund . . . He has even promised to sign into law the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), which would make illegal even peaceful efforts to persuade mothers from aborting their babies. In essence, Obama holds and has pledged to enforce, a radical pro-abortion position that will curtail free speech, freedom of religion and ensure that many more innocent lives will be destroyed . . .”

HAVE EVANGELICALS LOST THEIR WAY?

Farah concludes his article saying that it is now the time for Warren to decide whether he stands with God, or whether he stands with Mr. Obama. I would add that the choice was and is clear. Pastor Warren chose to go the broad way of the world. It appears that Warren is joining a growing list of evangelicals who demonstrate their love for the world more than for God. I recently wrote a series of articles about another high profile evangelical (mis)leader, who chose the way of the world, Richard Cizik, who is the now the former Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE).
