Hell, the Bottomless Pit, and the Lake of Fire

In the New Testament book of Luke, chapter 16 we read a famous story first told by Jesus to his disciples about a rich man. According to tradition this man’s name was Dives (Webster’s New World College Dictionary, p. 419).  This man lived very well every day, dressed well and ate well.  One day he died and he lifted up his eyes in hell, tormented by flames.  He even asked for a drop of water on his tongue to cool him in the flames, but was denied his request.

Jesus said. “Broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there is that find it, but narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it.”  How about you, which path are you on?

In Revelation 9 we read of an angel who is given keys to the bottomless pit.  When he opens it, outcome locusts which torment men five months.  We learn that there is an angel of the bottomless pit who is also a king.  His name is ‘Destruction’ or ‘Destroyer’, king over the locusts.  Some believe that this is Satan himself, but I think not.  Satan has many kings under him, Daniel points this out, and he is the god of this world.  Satan is more than a king.

Satan does not have unlimited power as is shown in the Old Testament Book of Job and eventually Satan comes up against the Lord Jesus Christ and is thrown into the bottomless pit for a millennia.  Some believe his evil angels are also put into the bottomless pit with him.  This may be the case.  I read nowhere that people are ever placed into the bottomless pit.  Some equate the bottomless pit and hell.  I do not believe this, but think they are separate places within the earth.

Some equate hell with the lake of fire and this is not the case.  Hell is thrown into the lake of fire which is also called the second death.  Presently no one is in the lake of fire but the first ones to go will be the antichrist and the false prophet.  They will be thrown alive into the lake of fire.  Satan will be the third person to be thrown into the lake of fire.  At The Great White Thrown Judgment whoevers name is not written in The Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire.  All the angels that followed Satan against God will go to the Lake of Fire.  Death and Hell will be the last ones to be assigned to the Lake of Fire.

Death and Hell are angels that preside over those institutions.  The place of hell will be destroyed when the earth is destroyed.  This destruction will take place, some think, before The Great White Thrown Judgment.  Not only will the earth be destroyed but also the whole universe.  It came from nothing and will return to nothing.

What will be your state at this end of affairs?  If you do not want it to be a sad state, then repent of your sins and invite Jesus into your heart.  A sample payer is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive of my evil and come into my heart.”

Street Preachers

Last week, a group of friends of mine had a discussion about certain street preachers who frequent the U.C. campus. The majority of the group spoke against them because of their offensiveness and ineffectiveness and because their message drives people further away from the truth and causes them to sin. I have never heard these particular preachers preach, so I cannot judge them one way or the other, but I took the opposite view, partly for the sake of argument, partly because I think that most preaching goes too far in the opposite extreme, and partly because I’m just plain ornery. There were two specific points mentioned about the preachers that the group found objectionable. They told specific people that they had committed certain sins and that they wore T-shirts which said “Repent Pervert”. (There may have been others which I don’t remember.) I will get to these objections later, but first I want to clarify my position.

It is wrong to rejoice in the fact that other people are going to hell. It is wrong to tell people that they are going to hell without explaining the reason why. (The reason is that they have committed sins which greatly offend God.) Those who preach just to be seen by men have received their reward in full. Accusing people of committing sins, not knowing that the accusation is true, is slander, which is a sin. It is also wrong to present God as only being a God of wrath, and leaving out the part about his goodness and loving nature. If these preachers are doing any of these things, then I totally agree that they are doing more harm than good.

But, on the other hand, if the only objection is that they exposed sinful sexual behavior for the filthy and shameful thing that it is, then I do not agree. This was done over and over throughout both the Old and New Testaments. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with preaching about hell either. Jesus did it. How can anyone understand the significance of the death of Jesus if they aren’t convinced that it saves people from shame and hell? If saving people from hell is one of the most important reasons for witnessing to someone, isn’t it being disingenuous to leave that out of the message? In his sermon on the mount, Jesus preached about both sexual sin and hell, but did not mention either his own death on the cross or being the Son of God. On many occasions Jesus actually told his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah (e.g. Matthew 16:20) or about him dying on the cross because the people weren’t ready for this message yet. This is also why Jesus had a forerunner who preached a message of repentance first.

Someone said that Jesus only preached that way to the religious leaders. I do not agree with that argument. Jesus often preached more harshly to “teachers of the law”, scribes, “experts in the law” and Pharisees, but they are not the only ones he preached convicting messages to. (Not all Pharisees were “religious leaders”.) Jesus preached against sexual sins and warned of hell several times in sermons addressed to general audiences.

I don’t agree with the argument that the “Repent Pervert” T-shirt is wrong because it would drive people away from the truth or that no one would ever come to Christ because of such a statement. I guess I’m just weird. I am actually attracted by provocative statements such as this. Even if I know that I disagree with someone’s point of view, I tend to want to listen them more if they display some evidence that they are passionate about what they believe in.

I pointed out that after Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.” (John 6:53, KJV), many no longer followed him (John 6:66). Also, Jesus told the rich young man to sell everything he had and give the money to the poor. Jesus could have had more followers if he had attended a “Developing Interpersonal Relationships” seminar, but that isn’t the point. There are lot passages which teach that it is better to fail at making a true convert than to succeed at making a false one. The Canaanite woman said to Jesus, “Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.” (Mark 7:28, KJV) This beautiful expression of humility would never have happened if Jesus hadn’t called her a dog.

Quoting Matthew 18:6 (or Mark 9:42 or Luke 17:2), one person said that this type of preaching would cause people to sin. But these passages refer to “offending one of these little ones that believe in me”, not causing adult unbelievers to sin, which is what we were talking about. The same principle applies to a certain extent, but how does wearing a “Repent Pervert” T-shirt cause someone to sin? In order for this argument to be valid, you must give a Biblical proof of this or at least give an example of an instance in which this actually happened to someone. Even if making a statement about how God abhors sin causes someone to sin, this does not count as “causing someone to sin” in the sense Jesus was talking about. For Paul said:

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead…But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.”

Romans 7:7-13 (KJV)

I am assuming that no one believes that street preaching itself is wrong, but only the manner in which these particular preachers were addressing their listeners. (I think someone said that it is better to speak to someone you know in a one-on-one conversation. This may be better in some situations for some Christians, but there are many, many, examples of preachers addressing large crowds of people probably not known to the speaker in the Bible. So why not do it today?) I also want to point out that there is nothing wrong with showmanship in street preaching. Some preachers may do this to draw attention to themselves, but it can be done with pure motives and draw attention to Christ in way that is not sinful. Ezekiel laid siege to a brick, laid on his left side for 390 days, laid on his right side for 40 days, and baked bread over cow’s dung to send the people God’s message (Ezekiel 4). Ezekiel was only responsible for delivering the message, not for people accepting it.

Finally, I will address the point made about pointing out certain people in the crowd and saying that they had committed a certain sin (or was committing it). Generally this would be wrong because you couldn’t know that someone had committed that sin if you don’t know them. But if, for example, a young woman in the crowd was scantily dressed, then it would be entirely appropriate to call her a fornicator. This is a much more clearly appropriate instance in which you should criticize someone for causing someone else to sin. Jesus said:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Matthew 5:27-30 (KJV)

In defense of the group, I would have to say that I tend to lean more the style of the Way of the Master than the preachers we were talking about. Instead of telling people they are sinners and telling them to repent, Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort ask you if you have committed certain sins and then ask you how you think God (being just) will judge you. But this is a relatively subtle point and is not an absolute rule by any means. I also like Paul Washer.

In conclusion, I believe that the majority of preachers unnecessarily avoid controversial topics and effective teaching methods because they are so afraid of offending people. There are far fewer who are preaching a message which is too harsh. There is nothing wrong with preaching against sexual sins or about hell in a provocative manner. You shouldn’t worry for offensiveness about whether a message would drive someone further away from God if that is the only reason. The number of people who respond positively to a message in the short run is not the true measure of its success. Showmanship can be used in a beneficial way when preaching the gospel. You can’t fault someone for pointing out someone else’s sin if it is done in a loving manner and the sin actually happened.

Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Psalms 2:11 (KJV)

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Psalms 147:11 (KJV)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”

Isaiah 30:9-11 (KJV)

And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Acts 24:25 (KJV)

And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.

2 Corinthians 7:15 (KJV)

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Philippians 2:12 (KJV)

Teddy Kennedy’s Legacy, Part 1 – Mary Jo, Advancing Hate Crimes Law, the Homosexual Agenda & Abortion

Sam and gregjaye respond to comments made recently by a reader of this blog, peter wassink, to the article, "Senator Kennedy Schemes to Pass “Hate Crimes” Law"

What is "pro-homosexual hate crimes language"? I think you mean language that in its description of hate crimes includes the crime of attacking or even killing people for their sexual orientation. I wonder if you could explain why you think such a crime is not a hate crime. Something doesn't quite add up in your position.

You want to see this crime category dropped, and as an argument for this you suggest the murder of Matthew Shepard was not a hate crime at all.

You seem to argue that this crime category does not exist?

So are you saying that there are no people that want to hurt gay people because of their sexual orientation?

As history learns us, violence towards groups in our society often originates from fear. Are you saying there are no people that fear homosexuality?Because that is not true, many people in America fear homosexuality, you yourself are an example, you seem to have great fear for the 'homosexual agenda'

I believe fear of homosexuality comes from a combination of ignorance and sexual
insecurity.

I'm a straight guy from Amsterdam and from experience i can tell you homosexuals are people just like you and me.

.
Actually, all crimes are. in one way or another, hate crimes. First, it is hatred for God and secondly, it is hatred for the other person. Capital punishment, however, is not a hate crime. In some situations God calls for it. Homosexually is one of those circumstances. If a particular society accepts the homosexual life style as an acceptable way of behavior and does not stop it, then clearly according the truth found in God’s Word, the Judeo-Christian Bible, that society will be destroyed.

People are not at all afraid of the homosexuality itself, but rather the ruin God can bring on a society for not having stopped the practice of homosexuality in the society. The promise of God is this, “The land in which that society lives will cast out the people of the land.” The promise is sure and non-homosexuals do not want to be cast out of the land in which they live.

Love, must be sincere; hate what is evil. Homosexuality itself is evil and those who do not hate it do not love. God says woe to those who call evil good and good evil. Righteous people are an abomination to the wicked, and the wicked people are and abomination to the righteous.

God said: He would put hatred between the children of Satan (the serpent in the Garden of Eden) and the children of Eve.

Hate crime legislation, in actuality, is the children of Satan outlawing the children of Eve. If you approve of hate crime legislation you are going to hell. So that is why Edward Kennedy died this week and unless he had a bedside conversion and repented of his sins and turned to God, he went to his eternal reward, that is to hell and is now in torment.

2010, The Year of the Bible

The following article is based on a news story found on Yahoo News, “The Bible Bill?
.
Representative Paul Broun (R-Ga.) has proposed a bill in Congress making 2010 the Year of the Bible in recognition of the contributions that the Bible has made to America throughout its history as a nation. As of May 22, 2009, only 15 fellow House members have signed on to co-sponsor the bill. Congressmen and congresswomen do not seem to be very quick in supporting this bill. Obviously, they do not think the Holy Bible is important in American life today. Whoever does not co-sponsor this bill should be voted out of office.

In the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America from Great Britain, an appeal was made to the Judge of the Whole Earth for gaining its independence and maintaining its sovereignty. This Judge, who presides over the affairs of men judging nations, and who will judge each one of us individually, is not some mythical creature who does not exist. This Judge is a real person. The Holy Bible clearly identifies Him as the Lord Jesus Christ, who is also known as the Lord of Hosts and the Redeemer of Israel. He is the second Person of the trinity, the Only Begotten Son of God, who is God in the flesh.

With faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, America must recognize, honor, and obey Him or we will face increasing difficulty which may lead to extinction. The difficulties we are having in the nation today are symptoms of having turned away from obeying the Holy Bible and living according to its statutes.

America shall reckon with the God of the Holy Bible one way or another. He has made this solemn promise, “The nation which forgets God, will be turned into hell.” Can you see it happening? Congress is helping. What are you doing about it?

Pilgrim’s Progress (2008)

Here is a brief description of the movie, Pilgrim's Progress, Journey to Heaven, followed by a few of my comments. I saw this movie last night at a church. Pilgrim's Progress, Journey to Heaven is a modern adaptation of John Bunyon's beloved classic tale. Amazing visual effects, beautiful locations and a wonderful cast bring to life the story that has inspired each generation for hundreds of years. Follow Christian and his companions on the great journey from the City of Destruction to the gates of Heaven. Along the way, the pilgrims face obstacles large and small, man-made and demon-spawned. Beyond the gripping drama, Bunyon's powerful allegory teaches us the hazards and hopes of the Christian life, and the triumphant glory that awaits all who faithfully follow the King of Kings!”

There was a man who was asleep in bed one night and he had a dream. He dreamt his name was Christian living in a city called Destruction and had visions of the entire city being destroyed by fire. Reading the Holy Bible Christian learned he was a sinner and he and his family were doomed. He carried a huge load of sin on his back which he wanted to get rid of somehow. An evangelist told Christian of a Celestial City but he had to walk the correct path and enter through the door to get there.

The film was Biblically sound. One is saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus being the door. Jesus took the load of sin from off Christian’s back and gave him a sealed document of purchase. This document, he had to have to be allowed entrance into the Celestial City. That, of course, would be the Holy Spirit, who is the seal of salvation.

Christian met many people on the path to the Celestial City, those people got off the path and perished. When Christian, himself, got off the path and onto the wrong path, he met the fate of the path. Time after time he was rescued in some supernatural way, while others were not. I suspect the reason for this is that he was owned by God, while the others were not. Christian was shown several shortcuts to hell.

Christian and his fellow pilgrims reached the Celestial City and were allowed entrance. Faithful, another character, got their first. He was burned alive in the city of Vanity Fair, whose ruler was Beelzebub. That city, Vanity Fair, appears to be America today.

Another person, who did not travel with Christian, arrived at the entrance to the Celestial City. This person did not go through the door to the path and did not have a sealed document. This path or way to heaven proved to actually be the fastest way to hell. There actually is a an alternative to the Celestial City for those who choose to do and to go their own way and not God’s way.

Shining God's Light on the Koran

This article is part of an on-going series contrasting the Judeo-Christian Bible with the Koran on a variety of topics. Previous articles include: "Was Abraham a Jew or a Christian?", Idolatry 101, 102, 103, Oneness, Unbelievers, God's Character, The Resurrection, The Proclamation, The Judgment, The Creation of Man, The Creation of Woman, and The Fall of Man: Part 1-The Command, Part 2 – The Disobedience, Part 3 – The Consequence, Part 4 – Its Ramification, Right Dividing (Interpreting) the Word – Part I, Part II Part III, Mortality versus Immortality, Worship, Adam or Jesus?, God Begat a Son, and the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.

Does God Love the Wicked?

Here is something with which the Koran and the Holy Bible absolutely disagree.

THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

“God does not love evil doers.”(1)

COMMENTARY ON THE KORAN

The message is quite clear from the Koran. God does not love those who do evil. The wicked are those who do evil.

THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

“You have heard that it has been said, You shall love thy neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That youmay be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (2).

Behold, all souls are mine (Gods’); as the soul of father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. (3)

I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saieth the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. (4)

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God demonstrates his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (5)

COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

In the Old Testament we read that God does not delight in the destruction of the wicked. What pleases Him is for the wicked to repent of their evil and do what is correct in Gods’ eyes. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said love your enemies. This is what God does. He is good to the righteous and the wicked alike. Therefore, those who know God are to love their enemies. Do good to those that mistreat them and pray for those who take advantage of them. This is what “being perfect” means. Jesus showed Gods’ love for us in that while we were still sinners He died for us. Jesus died for evil doers.

God is perfect. He loves His enemies; even you and me. Each one of us is God’s property by reason of being created by Him. Death and destruction is separation from God and torment by fire in hell. Death and destruction are followed by judgment by Jesus, banishment and confinement into the Lake of Fire, the second death, forever.

Jesus took our sins in His own body, while on the cross, thus satisfying the justice demanded by God with His (Jesus’) sacrifice. There is no other way to escape the Lake of Fire, which is forever separation from the living God. Perhaps you would like to repent of your sins and invite Jesus into your heart? You can do so right now. A simple sample prayer is, “Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sin and come into my heart.” I urge you to pray this today. Jesus is waiting.

Mixing Religion and Politics, Part 3: Teaching Children How to Commit Fornication is Wrong

This post was edited 5/12/07.

Part 1 link

Some Christians say that “safe” sex education is important because more and more teenagers are getting pregnant and contracting STDs at younger and younger ages. They do not want to teach abstinence only because that would “impose their faith” on others. Real Christians could never believe in making sinful, sexual suggestions to children. They will never believe in giving any advice about sin except to condemn it and to help bring people out of it. Romans 13:14 says, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and MAKE NOT PROVISION FOR THE FLESH, TO FULFILL THE LUSTS THEREOF.” II Timothy 4:2, 3 says, “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but AFTER OWN LUSTS SHALL THEY HEAP TO THEMSELVES TEACHERS, having itching ears.”

This “safe” fornication education plants dirty, lustful thoughts into the minds of children. Sin should be treated like deadly poison and the minds of children should be treated as if they are the most precious, valuable, and vulnerable thing on the planet. “When lust has conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” (James 1:15) Therefore, there is no “safe” sin. If you imply that there is, then you are being deceitful even if you’re giving factual information. If it is true that teenagers are committing more murders at a younger and younger age, then should we instruct them at taxpayers’ expense as to how to kill in a way that would be less painful for their victims?

“But among you there must not be even a HINT of sexual immorality, or any kind impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity…” (Ephesians 5:3, 4) “Have NOTHING TO DO with the fruitless DEEDS OF DARKNESS, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.” (Ephesians 5:11, 12) Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” The “safe” fornication advocates should have their mouths washed out with soap and water.

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” It sometimes seems like passages like this need not be in the Bible. Isn’t this obvious? Not to some people. They think that sometimes it’s better to train a child in the way he shouldn’t go. God had the foresight to see that Satan would twist their minds. Deuteronomy 18:9 says not to learn how to do wicked things.

A real Christian would never put a stumbling block in the way of a sinner. (Leviticus 19:14b) Not only do the false Christians corrupt their own children, but they arrogantly force this disgusting teaching on our children at our expense (through taxes). If someone causes a Christian child to sin, it would be better for that person to be thrown into the sea with a millstone around his neck. (Matthew 18:6-9) II Peter 2:14 says, “Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children”. II Peter 2:17-19 says, “These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they ALLURE THROUGH THE LUSTS OF THE FLESH, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While THEY PROMISE THEM LIBERTY, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is HE BROUGHT IN BONDAGE.”

It does not matter whether the statistics show that this “safe sex” teaching “works”. Pregnancy and STD prevention are not worth the price of leading children down a path of sin. What an unholy bargain with the devil this is! No man can serve two masters: for either he will HATE the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and DESPISE the other. (Matthew 6:24) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit. (Matthew 7:17) Some may say, “Teenagers are going have sex anyway, so we may as well reduce the suffering and negative economic impact of it.” But the Bible says, “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view.” (II Corinthians 5:16) This passage, taken in context, shows the difference between someone who has only head knowledge of what the cross means and one who really believes it in his heart. “For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, NOT WITH FLESHLY WISDOM, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.” (II Corinthians 1:12)

Some people say that I am self-righteous for saying these things. What could be more SELF-righteous than saying, “I’m going to be a virgin until marriage, but I am going to teach children how NOT to be a virgin.”? Romans 1 says that “God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves” because they know “the judgment of God, that they which commit such are worthy of death”.

They also say, “how dare you judge me?” (Matthew 7:1 says, “Judge not lest you be judged.”) I am not judging, but warning. If someone wants to warn me of something that I am doing that will cause me to go hell so that my soul will be saved, then they should by all means do so. I can take it. Judging means passing sentence on someone (compare verses 47 and 48 of John 12). Jesus said, “Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.” Putting filthy ideas into someone’s mind is passing a sentence on them. “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” God will allow Satan to put filthy thoughts and sickening lustful urges into their flesh forever. “God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) Whatever deeds you have done, you will receive the same in your own body. (II Corinthians 5:10, Galatians 6:8)

There is, however, something that you should teach your children put on to protect themselves. It’s the armor of God. “For we wrestle NOT against FLESH and blood, but against PRICIPALITIES, against POWERS, against the RULERS of the darkness of THIS WORLD, against spiritual WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES.” (Ephesians 6:12)

To anyone reading this that claims to be a Christian and is still not convinced, I would say this:

How can you believe in suggesting to a child a way to commit a sin that Jesus Christ had to be beaten, whipped, and nailed to a cross for? Could you look a bloody, exhausted, battered Jesus in the eye and still say that this is the right thing to do? In order to be saved, you must believe in the simple, common sense idea that it is always good to teach good things, and always bad to teach bad things. Unless you change and become like a little child, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3) “Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.” (James 1:21) “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (II Corinthians 6:17). “Whosoever is a friend of the world is the enemy of God…cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:4, 8)
In my next article, I will discuss why it is wrong to keep God out of schools.
