A Response Concerning Waterboarding

This article is in response to the post entitled "The A.C.L.U., a/k/a the US Department of Treason!".  In this post, a quote said in part,

Bush did the patriotic thing.  He ordered Mohammad waterboarded and he quickly gave up information that stopped at least two terrorist attacks that would have killed thousand [sic] of Americans.

 I must respectfully disagree.  As the above video shows, Erich "Mancow" Muller, a conservative radio talkshow host admitted that waterboarding is torture after having gone through it himself.  He had volunteered to be waterboarded intending to prove that it was NOT in fact torture.  You can watch the entire thing here.

The 8th Amendment says,

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Any intellectually honest person should be able to see that "cruel and unusual punishment" is the same thing as torture.  There is nothing in this amendment or anything else in the Constitution which limits the scope of this prohibition on torture.  (It goes without saying that the Bill of Rights was originally intended to apply the Federal government only.)  There is a reason why the Framers of the Bill of Rights chose to add this to our Constitution.  The reason is that the People demanded it!

And I don't believe for a minute that any valuable information was actually obtained from these waterboarding incidents.  I don't generally believe claims made by our government and our Founding Fathers taught us to be suspicious of any government.  The information supposedly obtained from this torture could already have been known or the whole thing could have been a hoax.  Governments naturally tend to want to expand their powers beyond Constitutional constraints in order have more leverage over the People, to prevent us from being truly free.  Whatever happened to relying on God for our protection?  Even if valuable information was obtained from this torture, do you really want to cast aside the Constitution so easily, and thus set a precedent for future constitutional violations, ones which next time could be perpetrated against YOU?

Torture and Terrorism

Islamic terrorist acts do more damage monetarily and to more innocent people than any act of "torture" used by Americans since 9/11. Islamic terrorists, themselves, don't hesitate to use torture even to the extent that their victims lose their heads. That is real torture.

The whole issue of alleged torture of Islamic terrorists has been blown way out of proportion by the left for political purposes and is just a liberal feel-good diversion from having to face and to deal with the reality of the war on terror.

Boycott Communist China's Olympics

I picked up a newspaper here in Spokane, Washington, were I have been vacationing and was impressed with this cartoon on the editorial page. The cartoon speaks volumes.

The U.S.A. and other free nations should boycott the Summer Olympics because of the gross persecution that the Chinese daily perpetrate in their nation. The Chinese are crushing freedom of speech in Tibet. The Chinese are experts at torture. America's minimal use of water boarding on a few known terrorists is child's play in terms of torture committed daily on Christians and other "enemies" of the socialist state of the People's Republic of China. We should organize an alternative and call them the Freedom Games for all nations who represent freedom such as the United States. The Red Chinese are the new Nazis and perhaps even worse. As bad as we might be in some areas of rights we are no comparison with the wanton wilful rights violators, the communist Chinese.

(Washington, D.C.) The Democrat leaders and most Democrats in Congress are relentless in their drive for power and in their support of the enemies of America.
They worry more about their Guantanamo detainee than our military trainee . . .

Yet they support abortionists and the abortion industry who are for snuffing out the lives of innocent babies by the millions before they are even born. They favor creating and destroying life for the “hope” of saving a life.

The “torture” allegedly committed by Americans is mild and almost insignificant when compared to the real torture administered by such expert torture practitioners as atheistic Communists like the Red Chinese, dictators like Hitler or Islamists such as Al Qaeda or lies about global warming by AlGore.

All torture should be condemned. I agree, anyone in the military, who mistreats prisoners, should be investigated and punished. However, there should be discretion and trust of our military and government officials when dealing with Islamic and other enemies of America, who are so hell-bent on inflicting massive damage on Americans when given the slightest opportunity. The key is discretion and trust.

LIBERALS AND TORTURE

Mark Finkelstein in his recent post on NewsBusters.org writes, “Liberals wouldn't lift a finger to stop the torturing to death of an unborn child. But put a terrorist [or a baby seal, for that matter] in the block and watch them spring into sensitive-soul mode.

He continues, "Rosa Brooks epitomizes the mindset in her recent LA Times column, "Torture: the new abortion." Her notion is that among Republicans, the new litmus test for presidential candidates is not opposition to abortion but support for U.S. officials who order the "torture of prisoners.""

MY LIST OF TOP TEN TORTURES

The following is a representative and comparative list of tortures. It seeks to put alleged American torture in its proper perspective. The leftists, including such deceivers as Senators John Kerry and Harry Reid, and the public relations arm of the Democrat Party, the main stream media, whine incessantly about the horrible atrocities of the military and CIA. The same people overlook and say nothing about the real horrors of abortion and routine torture taking place everyday in Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist countries, in atheistic communist and in other dictatorial regimes against Christians and enemies of the state.

10. Naked prisoners being led on a dog leash (alleged US military “atrocity” at Abu Ghraib Prison in Iraq in 2003)
