Arkansas Dark Horse Candidate

Mike Huckabee, Republican
Place Among Republicans: Third, at 11 percent
Up or Down? Up 5 points
Points Behind Leader: 18

An AOL news report today begins, "With six weeks left until the Iowa caucuses, the presidential horserace has taken some unexpected turns, according to the most recent numbers from a national Reuters/Zogby poll. On the Republican side, Rudy (pro-abort, pro-homosexual, pro-illegal aliens) Giuliani widened his lead over Fred (sleepy) Thompson to 14 points, 29 percent to 15 percent . . .
.
"But the biggest jump came from former Arkansas Gov. Mike (the long shot) Huckabee, who leapfrogged over Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney into third place. Huckabee had 11 percent, with Romney and Arizona Sen. John McCain hot on his heels with 9 percent." (comments added)
.
Mike Huckabee, though very far from the perfect candidate, seems to be picking up steam among the more conservative, Christian and values voters. He may upset the media-canonized eastern, Hollywood and Western liberal-to-moderate RINOs and may shake things up enough to give a real conservative or a real dark horse like strong conservatives Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo a chance at winning the GOP primary and the White House.
