SCANDAL AT MISSION CHURCH IN BOSTON
The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts today decried the scandal which occurred this morning at Boston's most historic Catholic shrine --- the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, known as "Mission Church" --- where a Mass of Christian Burial was used to “celebrate the life” of one of America's most notorious opponents of Catholic morality, the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Senator Kennedy fought for more than three decades to keep the killing of pre-born children legal and unrestricted in the United States.
Surgical abortion has claimed more than fifty-one (51) million human lives since 1973. The Catholic religion defines abortion as an “abominable crime”. [PFLI estimates conservatively that a total of 277 Million innocent preborns have died by means of chemical, surgical and mechanical abortions in that time in the US].
President Barack Obama delivered the eulogy, in which he alluded to Kennedy's support for gay rights. One of the Prayers of the Faithful was a petition to end divisions “between gays and straights”.
Ecclesial participants included Rev. Raymond Collins, Rector of the Basilica; Rev. Mark Hession, Kennedy’s parish priest from Our Lady of Victories Church in Centerville on Cape Cod; Rev. J. Donald Monan, Chancellor of Boston College; and Sean Cardinal O'Malley, Archbishop of Boston, who thanked President Obama for his words and his presence. Both the homilist, Fr. Hession, and Cardinal O'Malley suggested that the late senator had found eternal salvation.
The Catholic Action League called the event “a tragic example of the Church’s willingness to surrender to the culture, and serve Caesar rather than Christ”.
Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle stated: “Senator Kennedy supported legal abortion, partial-birth abortion, the public funding of Medicaid abortions, embryonic stem cell research, birth control, federal family planning programs, and so-called emergency contraception. He defended Roe v. Wade, endorsed the proposed Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), and opposed both the Human Life Amendment and the Hyde Amendment. Kennedy maintained a 100% rating from both NARAL and Planned Parenthood. In 1993, he received the Kenneth Edelin Award from Planned Parenthood, and in 2000 received the Champions of Choice Award from NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts at the hands of the same Dr. Kenneth Edelin, the infamous abortionist.”
During his 1994 reelection campaign, Kennedy said ‘I wear as a badge of honor my opposition to the anti-choicers’. His successful obstruction of the nomination of Judge Robert Bork to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1987 effectively prevented the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Beyond his specific positions on human life issues, Senator Kennedy, along with the late Congressman Robert Drinan, provided the cover and the example for two generations of Catholic politicians to defect from Church teaching on the sanctity of innocent human life.”

What is "pro-homosexual hate crimes language"? I think you mean language that in its description of hate crimes includes the crime of attacking or even killing people for their sexual orientation. I wonder if you could explain why you think such a crime is not a hate crime. Something doesn't quite add up in your position.
You want to see this crime category dropped, and as an argument for this you suggest the murder of Matthew Shepard was not a hate crime at all.

As history learns us, violence towards groups in our society often originates from fear. God said: He would put hatred between the children of Satan (the serpent in the Garden of Eden) and the children of Eve.
Hate crime legislation, in actuality, is the children of Satan outlawing the children of Eve. If you approve of hate crime legislation you are going to hell. So that is why Edward Kennedy died this week and unless he had a bedside conversion and repented of his sins and turned to God, he went to his eternal reward, that is to hell and is now in torment.

Last Man Speaking, Mansfield, Ohio Town Hall Meeting 8/24/09
This past Monday night our local area was blessed with an atypical, and what I believe was model Town Hall meeting. The meeting was held at the local High School. It was the result of a spontaneous idea and action of a local TEA Party. Two hours were set aside in the evening at a time when those of us who work were able to attend. Proportionally little time was allocated for the presenters, the bulk of the time was given to hear from the people. The people did speak. The frustration of the people over the ever expanding big government and its even bigger spending practices were expressed. The two representatives aides seemed to hear. Not sure if the liberal Senator Sherrod Brown would ever depart from the Democratic Party line, however, at least he sent someone to hear, whether he will listen is a very different matter.
HERE COMES THE JUDGE
The sponsor of the Mansfield, Ohio Town Hall Meeting on Government Run Health Care and the Cap & Trade Legislation, the Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association, wisely chose a respected, no-nonsense local judge to moderate this Town Hall. After all those unruly (and many for good reasons) meetings, Judge James DeWeese would have none of it. He reprimanded and cautioned the crowd and one individual, in particular, when it or she got out of line. Out of the Town Hall Meetings I have viewed on the Internet, this Town Hall was a model.
From my vantage point on the front row looking back across the expansive auditorium I thought two-thirds of the 1200 seat Mansfield Senior High School Auditorium were filled. The cup of wrath and indignation was more than ½ full with citizens wanting to share with their representatives. Lame duck (emphasis on lame) Senator Voinovich’s office said that he has never did Town Hall Meetings and will not be starting now. He was invited, but declined. Senator Sherrod Brown sent a representative, the State Director of his office, John Ryan. I don’t think Sen. Brown is in the mood to endure the questions about his beloved health care reform monstrosity. Senator Brown has been and continues to be an extreme liberal on almost all of the current issues. On the other hand, Congressman Jordan is a very conservative member of Congress. Just a week earlier, Congressman Jim Jordan was present in Lucas, Ohio, a small town just east of Mansfield, speaking before 200 or so people. Ray Yonkura, Rep. Jordan's Chief Of Staff represented him at this Town Hall.
The program started at 7 and was to run until 9 PM. Judge DeWeese opened the Town Hall with a few remarks, he was followed by Mr. Ryan then by Mr. Yonkura. Mr. Yonkura was on the correct side of nearly all the issues and had the support of most of the people present. I would declare him the winner of the "debate." John Ryan did his best to disguise the very liberal positions of Sherrod Brown, the Mansfield native.
After the presentations, which lasted until around 7:30 PM, two lines formed, one on the right of the stage, and another on the left. The question and answer period lasted 90 minutes. On most question, both representatives had an opportunity to respond. When the time approached 9:00 PM Judge DeWeese wisely cut off the comments by the two representatives, but allowed everyone remaining in line to ask a question or make a statement. I am very glad he did this, otherwise we would not be able to here the wisdom of the last person in line.
THE LAST MAN STANDING & SPEAKING
At around 9:15 PM, or so, the last man standing was an elderly gentleman who slowly but deliberately made his way on his own volition and took the microphone. It turned out to be a marvelous and fitting conclusion to an evening when a lot of folks got a lot off of their collective chests.
This man was so symbolic of America, that I had to transcribe his entire remarks. His words follow the embedded video below. His comments were low key, yet he was every bit as passionate and profound as Michelle Malkin on the View TV Show. He's my new hero. He's a great American. His entire words of wisdom are captured in the embedded video below. Roy Wagner of KRose Video was on hand to record the entire Town Hall Meeting. I was particularly appreciative of his documentation of this important and historic event.
To me, this geriatric giant of a man in many ways represents the best of America past and present. His words encapsulate the sentiment of most Americans past and present. He spoke for the silent and moral majority. A well grounded, respectful, conservative voice that is seldom if ever heard as clearly in the censored media called TV News. A man with the mental agility that could outperform most Mansfield Senior High students right now. Inspirational!
Here to me was the highlight of the night. Here to me summarized the previous two hours. So simple, yet so wise. The words of a patriotic, average American, whom we should try with all of hearts and minds and spirit to emulate.
“Thank you for being here, Judge DeWeese. You conducted a very good thing - meeting. [applause] I admire you, greatly, Judge DeWeese, for putting morality into your office. [Sustained applause]
“I may be the oldest man in here (tonight), I don’t know. I’m 95 years old. [Applause] I was born in Richland County and I graduated from Madison High School in 1932. There are only 3 of us left . . .
“I love this country. [Applause] I had a son killed in Vietnam. I’ve have a young grandson in the Marines now. [Applause]
“I am a registered Democrat now, because I wanted to vote (in the primary election) for my grandson, who ran for mayor of Ontario (a suburb of Mansfield). And he made it. And he will be on the ballot this fall as a Democrat.
“But I am a Republican, and I voted Democrat because I wanted to see my grandson get elected. He’s a good man. Judge DeWeese is also a Democrat, and he is a good man. [Applause]
"Now, I want to recite a poem I learned many years ago and it never crossed my mind until the President started going across the world criticizing our country.[The last man standing & speaking said,} Has anyone heard of the . . .

COMMENT
At 95, this man gave an amazingly powerful and inspirational closing challenge to all Americans. It capped an intense evening at this model Town Hall meeting. For those who left this ballgame early, they missed the game winning home run!
While the two representatives got peppered with questions and comments from those assembled, this elderly gentleman put it all into proper perspective. He saw his president "doing wrong" by defaming and insulting our nation abroad. The majority of those present (and I believe that they represent the majority of Americans) vehemently oppose what this president has already done on foreign soil as well as what he and his administration are doing and trying to do domestically. I absolutely concur with Congressman Jordan and his Chief of Staff, Ray Yonkura, that imposition of both Government-Run Healthcare and the new tax scheme called Cap and Trade must be defeated along with halting out-of-control and wasteful government growth and spending.
One closing note regarding this seasoned citizen, he is walking visualization or demonstration of why we don't need ObamaCare. This vital man is still contributing value to society, and I would say he will continue to do so until God takes him. Their is a real danger under ObamaCare or socialized medicine that this man would be "expendable" or not worth "investment" of health care because of his age . . . Now that would be a great shame, wouldn't it?

I don't agree with the 700 Club or Pat Robertson on many issues, but Ray Comfort is awesome. I hope the people who regularly watch this show see what real Christianity and real witnessing is all about. And what a great title for the book (You Can Lead an Atheist to Evidence, But You Can't Make Him Think). No matter how brilliant you are at giving sophisticated scientific proofs of creationism, the sinner is rarely converted by these types of arguments. Pride has hold on sinner's hearts and to admit that they're wrong about something like that is humiliating. The pride factor needs to be torn down first. You need to appeal to the conscience. You need to use the Ten Commandments! You only need to use a little common sense along with it like the watchmaker argument or the other simple ones that you can find on Ray's website.
The Right Way to Amend the Constitution, part 10

This is part ten of an ongoing series of articles containing proposals for amendments to the Constitution. For someone who claims so fervently to be a “Constitutionalist”, how is it that I can be so eager to change the Constitution? Well, there are several reasons. For one thing, I believe that after the Bill of Rights, much damage was done by some of the amendments that were added and the legitimacy of some of their ratifications are questionable. Secondly, the Constitution has been violated so much that the necessity of further amendments is needed to resolve the resulting problems. But this should be done extremely cautiously. These amendments are extremely unlikely to ever be introduced, much less ratified, but hey, I can dream, can’t I?
I added section 6 because it is not reasonable that unborn babies should be included in census enumerations. Historically, they were not included and it wouldn't be right to include some while others are not included because the mother is not yet aware of the pregnancy. Forcing women to take a pregnancy test would be excessively intrusive.

· overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and
· financed by a country that is nearly broke.

A Summer of Revolt
A number of events have occurred recently, which are illustrative of just what is happening in this country. Ours is a nation literally under siege by Marxists and socialists, who captured power and the White House last November. They seek to topple completely the America of our Forefathers.
The TEA Parties and the subsequent invigorated Town Hall gatherings have given the fed-up-with-the-feds majority a voice, an outlet to express their deep concerns, outrage, frustrations and disappointments. We are gravely disturbed by the actions of our government since that bloodless coup that began earlier this year when the new president and the new Congress went to work.
ENOUGH, that is the word, the cry, which encapsulates the mood and mind of most Americans. The senseless spending of money, which we don’t have on things we don’t need, by the extremist elite, is flatly immoral, despotic even demonic.
We will look at three specific events that occurred during the month of August, which reveal the temperature of this nation. First is the TEA Party held in Akron, Ohio. Second are two contrasting Town Hall Meetings held in the states of Washington and Ohio.
.Thousands (7,000+) of people attended the Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 first-ever Akron Area TEA Party held in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. This was one of the largest, if not the largest TEA Party to date in Ohio, rivaling the statewide Ohio TEA Party on Saturday, August 1, 2009. I was listening to a portion of the WHLO-AM radio broadcast of the event. Ohio State Route 8 was apparently backed up with cars in route to the patriotic gathering. The TEA Party movement along with the barrage of patriotic Americans attending their local Town Hall meetings is a very overdue and very healthy turnaround for this hitherto apathetic country. See details of the even here. One interesting item to note is that U.S. Congresswoman Betty Sutton (D-OH-13) refuses to meet with her constituents over the health care reform and other devious bills. She along with many other members of Congress are hiding this summer. The YouTube video is dedicated to Ms. Sutton.

Hat tip to the BluegrassPundit where I first saw this powerful video posted. This veteran Marine let his congressman (Brian Baird) have both barrels as he figuratively shot him down at a Town Hall Meeting earlier this month. The Marine speaks for me and I think for the majority of Americans.
I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy.
Many liberal and wayward Congressional members are hearing from their disgusted constituents this summer. By contrast my Representative, Congressman Jim Jordan (D-OH-4) was the featured presenter at a very hot (weather-wise) Town Hall in Lucas, Ohio last Wednesday evening.
I did not find out until the last minute that the Town Hall was being held. With the help of Mapquest I made my way to the even. How refreshing ti see a true Conservative Congressman who consistently does the right thing. The crowd was very appreciative of Rep. Jordan and his stand and vote against the bailouts, the stimulus bill and his promise to vote against the so-called health care reform or ObamaCare and against Cap and Trade. He is one Congressman who does not need to fear the people because he listens to We the People. He took many questions, which were primarily about the proposed health care reform.
Jordan emphasized that of the three main issues facing Congress right now: Defeating ObamaCare, defeating Cap and Trade and Stopping Runaway Spending, the defeat of ObamaCare by far is the greatest priority. Government cannot run the Post Office, the Veterans Administration Health Care System, the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, how can it assume total control of the entire American Healthcare System? Wow, I didn't realize there were so many ignorant, racist people left in this country in this day and age. The first biracial president (at least the first with visible and known African ancestry) and his citizenship is questioned and you call him a Marxist. Not that there's anything wrong with Marxism, it's a theory and like other theories (democracy, laissez faire capitalism), it doesn't come out as well in reality as on paper, due to the human element (greed, imperfection, powerlust, etc.) But it's a scare trigger word and that's the only reason it's being applied.Just because I disagree with just about everything the new president has done and am diametrically opposed to his social, fiscal and foreign policy does not mean I am a racist. You appear to be taking one of the talking points of the Democratic Party and Rahm Emanuel . . . What does race got to do with having a differing worldview? The abortion lobby, as it's called here, doesn't threaten to go around killing women with coat hangers. Desperate women without access to safe, hygienic, affordable abortions inadvertently killed themselves with coat hangers (or poison, or self-inflicted injuries/falls, etc.) for decades before Roe granted privacy and self-determination rights to women.Abortionists like the late George Tiller disrespect life. They are Pro-Death. They go about killing babies for a 'living,' and in the process many woman are hurt, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The abortion industry, especially Planned Parenthood refuse to recognize the many side affects beyond the death of the baby. Abortion is immoral, wrong and evil no matter what black-robed terrorists or leftist politicians claims.
The only people I've seen trying to "threaten, bully and scare people" are the anti-abortion ("pro-life" is a misnomer, only certain life is valued by people in that movement) terrorists who bomb women's clinics and stalk doctors and patients. There are so many poor, unwanted children who are never adopted -- because they are brown or too old. Would that the energy and "re$ource$" wasted on terrorizing women about their most private decision be rerouted to aid and adopt all the children who are already here and need a home, a family, love and support.If the term Pro-Life is a misnomer to those that want to protect the individual personhood of every human being, and it most definitely is not, but what people refer to as “Pro-choice” which can more accurately and truthfully be ascribed as Pro-Death. What “Choice” does an innocent human being, denied his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, have in the matter? None. The baby is the primary victim in abortion, not the woman.
I personally don't think I could have an abortion. I also recognize that I've been fortunate enough that birth control has never failed and I've never been raped. Nevertheless, it's not my right to decide what all other women do with their bodies, nor is it any of your business. That goes especially for people who are on this bandwagon because they assume everyone does or should share their religion. FYI, Christians are a religious minority in the world and only have the numbers they do by invading other countries and forcing Christianity (and I include Catholics, as they worship Christ and were the root of modern Christianity) on natives, while so-called "Christians" enslaved them and stole their resources.Jessica, you say birth control has worked for you and you have never been raped, but what about the child who was conceived in a rape, why do you insist in punishing him by sentencing him or her to death? Why not punish the perpetrator of the crime, make him pay for the health care and support of the child?
Jessica, America is not just another nation, we are exceptional. We were birthed as a Christian, God-honoring nation. Abortion goes against every principle and value and virtue that is dear to our founding and fundamental rights as delineated in our Declaration of Independence.
American prisons are full enough, we're the worst industrialized nation in those terms. The last thing the world needs are more unwanted, unloved children.Would all 50 million aborted boys and girls end up in prison? I don't think so. There could have been another George Washington or Thomas Jefferson among those victims of the American Holocaust. And why are our prison full? One reason is that we have allowed illegal aliens to invade our nation practically unhindered. President Bush claimed that the illegals are needed to do jobs Americans are unwilling to do. I don't believe that. We would have had more than adequate workforce had we not 'legalized' the killing of innocents.
Furthermore, our schools have stopped teaching Judeo-Christians principles and values. God has been removed from the classroom and the public square. Secular humanism, the false notion that man is the master of the universe and an is an enlightened being capable of anything is a lie for hell itself, it has replaced Christianity. It is a sorry substitute for the truth.
Like the current occupier of the White House you, Jessica, sound like an America-hater. What the world needs is love, the love of God as expressed by and through true Christ-followers. It is only through the power of the resurrected Christ and personal relationship with him, that man can ever hope to achieve a restored relationship with God. Man is fallen. Man is inherently evil and sinful by nature. Man cannot bring himself up by his bootstraps to make himself right with the God of the universe. It is only through the life, death, and risen power of Jesus Christ that man can be redeemed. Our Forefathers knew this. Without faith it is impossible to please God. We must come to believe in Jesus Christ, who, as God paid the ultimate price for our redemption or salvation or restoration. Jesus is the ONLY hope of the world. The change that is required is a change of heart, not a change to accept a socialist-based society.
The hope and change of any (false) messiah, like our current president has been made out to be by his adoring fans and worshipper in the press and media, is merely empty rhetoric. What we need is individual repentance and/or revival. That is the only hope and change America needs.

COMMENT
I believe that end of life decisions should be left to the individual and to the family to determine how and when they will make those decisions. There are provisions in place that already assist persons to make those decisions. Certainly everyone should have the opportunity to face those important decisions. Often when a person enters the healthcare system they are asked if they have a living will or other advance directives. Most nursing facilities, gather that information upon admission. They usually provide the basic information or samples as to how to obtain advance directives. It think that the role of educating of persons should be left to such organizations as churches. They are better equipped to making ethical and moral decisions than any government bureaucrat.
Government has no place in requiring or in providing that information at taxpayer expense. The Medicare and Medicaid programs are already nearly bankrupt providing services never intended by those programs. Instead, services should be curtailed in an plan to make and keep those programs solvent.
End of life counseling is just another big-brother, big-government scheme to gain more control over our lives. Government should first gets its own house in order before it meddles in mine.
ObamaCare will be funded in a great part by taking funds currently provided to Medicare and redistributing them to illegal aliens and others determined by big-brother Barack to be more deserving. I say that is cruel. Persons who were productive their entire lives now would be denied needed services is cruel. Instead we should be grateful and honor them and not take them out into the woods to die, which in essence ObamaCare does. That is what really is cruel.
