Abortion: Horton Hears a Who (1970)

Hear Their Cry

Dr. Suess wrote a number of children stories. They are well known. One of his stories was made into a recent movie, “Horton Hears a Who.” It may still be playing in theaters or being rented in video stores.

I was shopping at the local Sam’s Club store and saw a movie, “Horton Hears a Who,” which I recently heard Lou Engle refer to this movie in a talk. I guess I thought I was buying the recent Jim Carrey movie, but it turned out to be a 1970’s made-for-TV movie, 26 minutes in length. It was the original movie telling this Dr. Suess’ “Horton Hears a Who” story. In checking on Amazon.com, the remake or 2008 version will be available in early December.

I did not see the 2008 version, but it is apparently based on the same Dr. Suess’s book. It runs 147 minutes, so I wonder how much more can be said than in the 1970 version.

What I found interesting was that probably unbeknownst to, Dr. Suess, or Theodor Seuss Geisel when he originally penned the children’s tale in the 1950s was that it is an illustration of the battle for life. Abortion was still very much illegal when the book was written.

THE STORY

Horton, was an elephant and the story’s main character. He was shown to be a shy, caring beast that protected the unseen little people, the Who. The adversaries included a kangaroo and a group of monkeys. They worked hard at making it difficult for Horton to protect the invisible Who people. You could draw a parallel between these key characters and the true Christians of the world, described as the Church, the innocent victims of abortion, the unwanted, unseen babies, and the activist judiciary, and their allies.

One way to interpret “Horton Hears the Who” is to consider Horton as symbolizing the Church. The Who are the pre-born babies in their mothers’ wombs. The mean spirited, hateful, ignorant kangaroo symbolizes the courts or judges, who unconstitutionally make rules and laws from the bench instead of interpreting and enforcing the peoples or Congressional legislation. The monkeys are the allies of the kangaroo and represent those people and groups committed to the false belief of evolution, which is so fundamental to the anti-God secular humanistic philosophy that so dominates the academic, media and entertainment elite in our society.

You can see definite parallels and analogies to the current crisis of life and death facing America since 1973.

THE INNOCENTS

When you stop and think of all the potential good many of the aborted babies could have provided and contributed to America these past thirty-five years – preachers, doctors, nurses, scientists, farmers, teachers, fireman, even attorneys and politicians, etc. it is staggering. Some of the results or cost to humanity of abortions are cures for diseases left undiscovered, insufficient workers in all industries permitting illegal aliens to fill some jobs,, scientific discoveries unmade, books that were never written, etc.

Frankly, we are less well off, no, we are worse off because we have allowed this atrocious and mass holocaust in America to continue for 35 years. Supreme Court Judge Anton Scalia once asked referring the gross injustice of abortion, “Where is the moral outrage?" Indeed, where is the moral outcry especially of the Church? We have allowed the United States to be polluted by the wholesale shedding of innocent blood. What America deserves is the judgment of God for this atrocity.

THE MONKEYS

The monkeys represent all the forces so dependent on the evolution lie to justify their immoral behavior and policies, including abortion. Evolution or Darwinism gives a basis for treating life as anything but sacred. The ultimate result of the false evolution theory is that taking a life does not really matter.

Horton could have remained silent, fearful and intimidated by the mean monkeys in the jungle - the enemies of life as exemplified by the American Civil Rights Union (ACLU), the feminist National Organization of Women (NOW), the murder-for-a-fee Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), the Marxist-inspired National Education Association (NEA), the extreme left-leaning Democratic Party, the liberal, ungodly churches like the United Church of Christ (of which Senator Barack Hussein Obama and his family were so long faithful members) and anti-God academia, media and the entertainment industries among an array, an army of pro-death proponents.

THE CHURCH

Well, like Horton, the Church universal and the individual true believers in Jesus Christ, must wake up and recognize, speak-up for, and do all they can to protect the unseen Who, the innocent babies. So far nearly 50 million, dictatorial Mao-like volumes of baby human beings have been annihilated. The Church must wake up and strengthen the things that remain. The kangaroo and the monkeys are the "gates of hell" that Jesus referred to in the Bible. Chapter 16 in the book of Matthew contains this passage, "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

THE COURTS

One could consider the kangaroo in the movie as being the Supreme Court Justices and the baby kangaroo representing the lower courts. America has come under the tyranny of the courts. The Founders of America dealt with the tyranny of King George. We now must deal with the tyranny of activist courts that suppresses the people.

The courts have defined a new morality. They have unconstitutionally tried to legislate a new morality, which is actually the old immorality. Roe v. Wade to sanction murder. Lawrence v. Texas tries to reverse God’s law regarding homosexual behavior, declaring it to be no longer vile, immoral, unnatural, unhealthy and illegal. The Kelo decision permitted the unlawful acquisition of private property for the overall good of the commune. These sweeping, culture destroying decisions all of them are absolutely unconstitutional and are reprehensible.

THE VICTORY

In the end, the Who are saved thanks to the tenacity and perseverance of the saintly Horton. He overcomes vast and strong enemies. He seems to fighting the battle alone, but facilitates final victory – the recognition that the Who are people, too. Like Horton, the Church or the Body of Christ on earth, and conservative and value voters must engage in the world, we must become active and involved. We must listen to the cries of the innocents and push back the advancement of evil.

In the same state that hosted the deplorable Democratic National Convention, there is a ballot issue that Horton himself would support and the living Church should vehemently support. It is the Personhood Amendment. For the first time in America a state would declare what is fact, that life, a person, a who, begins at conception. That no matter how small a person may be, even if not visible – like babies in their mothers’ wombs – they are still a living, human being . . .

Passing the Personhood Amendment in Colorado and passing the Marriage Protection amendment in California, Arizona and in Florida this November would be a good start at turning this nation around. Like Horton, Church and conservatives need to wake up and listen to the Who, and the what is happening to the Who.

THE JUDGMENT

According to my friend and fellow-blogger, Sam, God's reaction to America's violation of His commands, most notably, legalizing murderous abortion and accepting and legalizing immoral homosexual behavior is judgment. 9/11 was a judgment of God on America. The change in weather patterns that produce such catastrophes as Katrina, out of control wildfires and floods are all part of God's judgment. Loss of national sovereignty through such things as the insidious North American Union, and entering into treaties such as the Law of the Sea and Kyoto are also part of the judgment of God. The primary purpose of these judgments is God's desire to see America repent from her evil waywardness.

There is also a cup of wrath that is being filled by our wanton and arrogant disregard of and refusal to follow Biblical principles and precepts. Please note when this cup is filled, the wrath of God will be poured out on our nation.

America’s failure, corporately and individually, to repent even in the face of judgment will surely lead to our ultimate demise as a nation. It seems that we are rapidly moving toward the eve of destruction.

THE CONCLUSION

So the next time you watch or read any version of this famous Dr. Suess book, think about it as being a metaphor or an allegory for life. It is a story for the ages and a story for all ages.

The abortion issue is one of the two greatest issues that America faces going into the November elections. Many would have us try to compromise on that issue. It is one issue where there cannot be compromise. It is a matter of life and death for the baby and for the mother. Additional meaning could be garnered from the movie if you consider it to be an allegory for life.

THE RATING

In my estimation this simple movie rates a ***** out of ***** for the powerful lesson that it lends itself to tell. One lesson is that perseverance in the midst of difficulties is an admirable characteristic. Another lesson is on the importance of listening even if no one else can or chooses to hear. The lesson of the importance of life and the fact that "a person is a person, no matter how small" is the ultimate lesson.

The movie is an excellent film for the whole family to enjoy. If the Jim Carrey version sticks to the basic story, it too should be best buy or rent . . .

The same truths portrayed in the video apply to American education as they do to British schools. School choice is really the only thing that will save our miserably failed educational system. The socialist and secular humanistic approached to education has proved totally unacceptable. I advocate the total elimination of the useless bureaucratic nightmarish maze of federal and state departments of education and the breaking of the monopoly of the teachers unions.

A few weeks ago I predicted that Governor Sarah Palin would be the GOP VP candidate. But I also said that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton would be the Democratic Party VP candidate. So I guess a .500 batting percentage ain't too bad . . .

Senator John McCain, I think more out of political expediency than principle, selected a REAL conservative for his Vice Presidential running mate. Regardless of that fact, Palin does make the GOP ticket slightly more palatable for Christian, conservative and values voters.

However, I am still not convinced that I will vote for McCain this fall. He is that bad. Obama and McCain, as I said before are socialist and socialist-lite, respectively. I think McCain is more liberal and moderate than he is conservative. He is the epitome of RINO (Republican- or conservative In Name Only). I still have my reservations.

Without question, though, the Obama-Biden ticket is absolutely unacceptable no matter how you look at it. We are talking about two of the most liberal politicians in America (#1 and #3 most liberal of all 100 senators.) We are talking about two people who unequivocally and unabashedly support unfettered abortion and actively aiding and abetting the advancement of the whole homosexual agenda and may other America-destroying positions.

I heard that the Obama campaign was quick today to denounce Governor Sarah Palin as being inexperienced. Quite frankly she has more experience than the headliner on the Democratic Party ticket. She has actual executive experience. She has accomplished a great deal in her short time as Governor. Obama has done nothing. His selection of Biden is an admission of his total ineptness and his lack of foreign relations experience as well as another demonstration of an absence of leadership.

Delia Lopez for Congress

“Darn it!” I said, when I read what was written underneath Delia Lopez’s picture on her campaign website. She has already been taken (married). It’s hard to believe that such a cute babe like her could be 45. She even has three grandchildren! Her husband must be very lucky, she being so gorgeous and so socially and fiscally conservative. Some people believe that it is unscriptural to choose a woman to be an elected official. I don’t have a problem with supporting the only freedom loving candidate in the race for Oregon’s third congressional seat. I have debunked the misguided argument here.

The Candidate

Delia Lopez checked the box that says, “Abortions should be legal when the life of the woman is endangered.” She says, “Our Constitution guarantees the right to life.”

Delia is very fiscally conservative, and strongly believes that federal spending should be limited to what the constitution allows (national defense and law enforcement). “Any idiot knows you can't continue to spend more than you make, paying interest is wasting money. If you do this, you get known for doing so. This is bad credit. When you have a bad credit rating as a person, you pay a higher interest rate. If you are a country, the value of your currency, if it is backed only with your promise, loses value. In 2001 .82 would buy a euro now it cost $1.60 that is a 50% reduction in the value of our money. The world is losing faith in our Countries promise.” she says. She would eliminate all foreign aid. “The United Nations has become corrupt and must be defunded,” and with respect to taxpayer bailout of real estate investors, “taxpayers must not be forced to pay the bills for investors that got greedy.” she says.

She is in favor of eliminating federal income taxes. She says, “According to the 10th amendment to our Constitution, States are the ultimate power in our nation, not the federal government. I would eliminate most of the Federal departments and return control of the taxes paid in a state, to the state and allow the states to determine, what is taxed, how much the taxes are to be, how the income from the taxes are best spent or invested. This puts the people of the state in more direct control of their money, lands, educational systems and health care. The people are to be the ultimate power in the States.”

She would eliminate all federal education standards and testing requirements for K-12 students (No Child Left Behind). “Control of education must be returned to the local education systems,” she says.

She believes that liquefied natural gas is answer to our energy problems because it is cheaper and more efficient. She believes that this would become our fuel of choice if the free market was freed from government manipulation. She supports domestic oil exploration in areas that are currently restricted.

She is in favor of eliminating restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns.

She is against government involvement in healthcare.

On border security, she says, “We must secure our borders to keep out terrorists as well as criminal entrants. We must not provide taxpayer supported benefits to criminal entrants. Calling criminal entrants/illegal aliens an undocumented worker is like calling a drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist. Many diseases that were eradicated across this nation are being brought back in. We must secure both borders and our sea ports. Our military is securing the borders in countless other nations instead of our own. Our Border patrol agents are spending time in jail for doing their jobs. They are being killed, our borders are out of control.” “Handing out free stuff is a magnet for illegals,” she says.

On Iraq she says, “We need a planned exit from Iraq. No permanent bases there. We would not want their bases here. We need to mind our own business. Our meddling more often than not, causes more harm to the people we are trying to help, or as in Osama bin Laden and Sadam Hussain and the Shaw of Iran, problems for our nation down the road. Isreal would be better off if we stopped giving money to all her enemies.” And she also says, “We must leave Iraq ASAP, and let the Iraqi's decide how thier country will be rebuilt.” (Gosh, her spelling is atrocious.) The proposed legislation of Delia’s opponent, Earl Blumenauer only “…requires responsible redeployment of US troops from Iraq in one year… [and] performance benchmarks and progress before further support.”

Delia opposes free trade agreements and says, “NAFTA, CAFTA and the rest of trade agreements have not been in the best interest of the American worker! Many countries add VAT, value added tax, to imports that make their domestic products cheaper compared to imports. This eliminates the benefit of free trade as originally proposed to American workers. These agreements have become a scam. We need to get out of the UN. We also need to eliminate excessive taxation and regulation that is hampering American companies making them unable to compete with international products and services. Our taxation adds about 30% to a U.S.-produced product.”

On the homosexual “marriage” issue, Delia says, “The government should have nothing to say about marriage it is a religious ceremony! The 1st amendment says the government shall make no law.. concerning religion.”

She also says, “By returning the lands of each state to that state, and the control of the income from them. Eliminate the federal department of transportation, and let each state manage the federal gas taxes paid in it they can rebuild their infrastructure.”

The Opposition

Earl Blumenauer voted yes on ENDA. He voted yes on hate crime legislation.

About abortion, he says, “Since the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, Congress has slowly passed legislation to erode women's reproductive choices. This is a personal and private decision that should be made by a woman, her family, her physician, and her own beliefs.”

Not satisfied with the legalization of murder, he supports federal funding for embryonic stem research.

He takes a pro-government involvement approach to the energy crisis.

He voted yes on the No Child Left Behind Act.

He supports federally funding public broadcasting.

He supported CAFTA (the Central American Fraud and Theft Agreement), which set up yet another international governing body to dictates U.S. trade policy, taking it out of the hands our elected officials.

He voted no to adopt an amendment (HR 3058, 06/30/2005) that forbids the use of federal funds to support eminent domain for projects with the purpose of generating tax revenue or personal financial gain of private enterprise.

More Evidence that Embryonic Stem Cell Research is Unnecessary

Last year I wrote a report on this blog about how a scientist developed a way to transform ordinary skin cells into stem cells that could serve as a suitable ethical substitute for embryonic stem cells. The stem cells could then be changed into a variety of different types of cells.

Now scientists have come up with a way to convert normal cells directly into another closely related type of cell without going through the stem cell step at all. They have done it with mice pancreas cells, converting ordinary pancreas cells which don’t produce insulin into differentiated type that does produce insulin.

World’s Largest Protest Sign Hits Denver This Week

I don’t think this story made the planners (the Democratic National Committee - DNC) of the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Tuesday very happy when the sign in the photo and YouTube video above was unfurled by 50 Pro-Life Protesters. The sign was placed on the side of Lookout Mountain, which overlooks the city of Denver. It was not up very long. The Pro-Life Protesters were threatened with imprisonment if they did not remove the sign shortly after it was put up. I have included the description of protest and the story of the potentially Guinness Book of World Records for the largest protest sign.

The message of the protest sign obviously didn’t get through the abortion-minded Democratic Party leadership. So called abortion rights is a core principle of the party’s platform. On Monday night they also allowed Nancy Keenan of NARAL’s [the National Abortion Rights Action League], the abortion industry’s association, to speak at the Democratic National Convention. That representative shockingly, reprehensibly and audacity called a woman’s right to kill her baby “moral.”

American Right To Life Unfurled World's Largest Protest Sign: DNC Sheets Of Shame

DENVER, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- An official Guinness Book of World Records attempt to display the largest ever protest sign has succeeded. Obama Supports Abortion AND Infanticide!

Last week I came across the following AOL Hot Seat Poll question:

Hot Seat Poll: Did Obama protect infanticide in Illinois while he was a member of the Illinois state legislature?

My Response: Yes, Barack Hussein Obama unabashedly and wholeheartedly supported the killing of babies born alive after a botched abortion. When he served in the state legislature in Illinois Obama opposed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act of 2001. He has tried to deny this fact, however, more and more evidence is surfacing proving that it is Obama who is the liar and not the National Right to Life Committee or others. The truth is something to which, apparently Obama is not accustomed.

Additionally, I had heard Obama say that if either of his daughters became pregnant through promiscuity or otherwise and the child was unwanted he would not want to punish his daughter with a baby. Yes he called the innocent baby “punishment.” Where is that liberal “tolerance,” where is the “justice,” or where is the “equality” in this scenario? Obama by his actions is intolerant, unjust, and discriminates against a whole class of persons – the unborn.

Obama: (The Born-Alive Infant Protection Act of 2001 in Illinois) Bill unnecessarily burdened doctors with … babies

“Yesterday, a YouTubed audio snippet of Barack Obama’s defense of his vote against the Illinois state legislation that required medical providers to give normal life-supporting medical care to infants born alive during an abortion appeared on several blogs. Neither Allahpundit nor I could determine the legitimacy of the clip at the time. After all, AP had just inveighed against Think Progress for Dowdifying John McCain on the draft, and it hardly seemed fair to propagate a potentially similar edit job on Obama. Guy Benson did some research on the quote and discovered that not only did the audio come from the Chicago Tribune, Obama had made similar remarks in the Illinois legislature.

“Here’s the audio alone, without the musical overlay:

I suspect that doctors feel that they would be under that obligation, that they would already be making these determinations, and that essentially adding an additional doctor, who then has to be called in an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments, is really designed simply to burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion.

“Guy also found a similar passage in the transcripts of the Illinois legislature. On pages 32-34 of the April 4, 2002 session, Obama debates the bill on the floor of the state Senate. He says essentially the exact same thing as he did in this audio passage above, but with a little more detail:

[T]he only plausible rationale, to my mind, for this legislation would be if you had a suspicion that a doctor, the attending physician, who has made the assessment that this is a nonviable fetus and that, let’s say for the purposes of the mother’s health, is being — that — that labor is being induced, that that physician (a) is going to make the wrong assessment and (b) if the physician discovered, after the labor had been induced, that, in fact, he made an error, and in fact this was not a nonviable fetus but, in fact, a live child, that the physician, of his own accord or her own accord, would not try to exercise the sort of medical procedures and practices that would be involved in saving that child.

Now, if — if you think that there are possibilities that doctors would not do that, then maybe this bill makes sense, but I — I suspect and my impression is, is that the Medical Society suspects that doctors feel that they would already be under that obligation, that they would already be making these determinations, and that essentially adding a — an additional doctor who the has to be called in an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments is really designed simply to burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion.

Now, if that’s the case –and — and I know some of us feel very strongly one way or the other on that issue — that’s fine, but I think it’s important to understand that this issue ultimately is about abortion and not live births. Because if these children are being born alive, I, at least, have confidence that a doctor who is in that room is going to make sure they’re looked after.

“This passage is really remarkable for the willfully obtuse nature of Obama’s arguments. By the time this debate took place, Jill Stanek had already revealed that doctors weren’t providing medical care to infants born alive during abortions, at Christ Hospital, and a subsequent investigation proved that other abortion providers also abandoned such infants to die. That was the entire reason for the debate. Obama acts as if this is some curious academic hypothesis.

“Instead of addressing the actual issue of infanticide, Obama twists it into a protection for abortion. He frames his own hypothetical as an abortion “for the health of the mother”, but the circumstances of the mother’s health has no bearing at all on whether a live infant should receive medical care. How would treating a live infant threaten the health of the mother?

“And finally, as the original audio notes, the remainder of Obama’s opposition rests on the “burden” of calling in a second physician to make an independent determination of the birth. The bill created that “burden”, a procedure which would take very little time at all, precisely because the doctors at Christ Hospital and elsewhere threw live infants away with no oversight at all.

“Nowhere in this argument does Obama say, “I oppose this bill because of its companion bill,” the lame argument that has surfaced over the last 48 hours from Team Obama. He doesn’t talk about the bill’s supposed unconstitutionality. Moreover, during the presidential campaign, he said he would have supported the federal bill even though it had all of the same supposed flaws Obama argued against in this passage.

“Obama protected infanticide in order to protect abortion on demand. There simply is no other explanation except abject stupidity, and this passage proves it.”

Obama is the same man who promised Planned Parenthood Federation of America that his first act in office was to insure that the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would be enacted and signed into law. FOCA would overturn the ban hideous partial birth abortion procedure, overturn all parental notification laws, etc. making abortion unrestrained in any way. That is a radical agenda. The man is pro-death. Black babies account for over 1/3 of abortions, yet they account for only 15% of the overall population. When it is to his political advantage he claims to be black. What about black genocide here in America, Senator? You "preach" against evil in Darfur, but what about the ghetto genocide? He claims to be a Christian with this intense hatred for human life? What love is evidenced in this politicians actions? None that I can see.

In Obama's eyes, babies can be a BURDEN and a PUNISHMENT. Is this kind of CHANGE you purport for America? Your record and your actions say it is, therefore I want no part of it!

I’m getting a little tired of writing about Barack Obama and John McCain, although America certainly must know the real Obama and the real McCain before November 4th.

Will the Clintons steal the show from the Obamas? Will protesters impact the Convention this week? Will it rain on Obama's planned outdoor acceptance speech? Will anyone watch this Hollywood produced farce? Will the acting be better than the typical TV fare? Who cares?

Obama Change

This weekend entrenched Senator Joe Biden boarded the Obama express bus, destination destruction, if that team is elected.

In his introductory video he says of himself that he is from a large Catholic family (didn't prevent his pro-abortion, pro-death stance much) and a member of the U.S. Senate and his work with foreign relations "service" in the Senate. I was negatively impressed that he mouthed the much used change mantra and platitude at least 8 times in this 3 minute introduction. Like Obama, he failed to define what that change will be.

I will tell you what Obama’s change will entail. Do you want more socialism? Do you wand to see America become further under the influence of Marxism and its philosophical cousin secular-humanism? If so vote the Obama Biden ticket this fall. Obama is a Marxist, the most liberal member in the Senate, that includes Edward Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry, Charles Schumer, and Diane Feinstein.

Obama’s associations confirm his Marxist anti-American leanings. Domestic terrorist William Ayers, black separatist Jeremiah Wright, and communist Frank Reynolds all have helped mold this political phenomena Obama.

Shining God’s Light on the Koran: Abraham’s Seed

The Seed of Abraham

The word seed is used in reference to the source, origin, or beginning of something. It can refer to the descendants or posterity of a person. Seed can also mean sperm or semen which would be produced by the male (1). I think that the egg would also qualify as seed since it is produced by the female. The Koran makes no reference to the seed of Abraham in that term as Scripture does, but it does refer to Abraham’s descendants. Scripture also refers to one person in particular as Abraham’s seed.

THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

Those that have faith and do not taint their faith with wrongdoing shall surely earn salvation, while they follow the right path.

Such was the argument with which We furnished Abraham against his people. We raise whom We will to an exalted rank. Your Lord is wise and all-knowing.
We gave him Isaac and Jacob and guided both as We had guided Noah before them. Among his descendants were David and Solomon, Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron (thus do we reward the righteous); Zacharias and John, Jesus and Elias (all were upright men); and Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah and Lot (2).

Praise be to God who has given me Ishmael and Isaac in my old age! All prayers are heard by Him (3).

When his Lord put Abraham to the proof by enjoying on him certain commandments and Abraham fulfilled them, He said: I have appointed you a leader of mankind. And what of my descendants? Asked Abraham. My covenant, said he, does not apply to the evil-doers (4).

COMMENTARY ON THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

In this list of descendants Job, and Lot are not descendants of Abraham. Job is a contemporary of Abraham (5) and Lot is Abraham’s nephew (6). Isaac, Ishmael, and Jesus are correctly identified as descending from Abraham. With the statement, “We gave him Isaac and Jacob,” one could incorrectly think Isaac and Jacob were brothers; contemporary sons of Abraham, while in reality they were father and son (7). No one is called the seed of Abraham in the Koran.

THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

And I (God) will put enmity between you (the serpent) and the women, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel (8).

And Abram said, Lord God, what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, ‘Behold, to me you have given no seed: and, one born in my house is mine heir.’ And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, ‘This shall not be your heir; but he that shall come forth out of your own bowels shall be your heir (9).’

And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac (10).

Ammon, Moab, and others and people from beyond the sea came to Judah to do battle, a great multitude. Jehoshaphat prays to God for deliverance. Part of his prayer is as follows, ‘…Art not you our God, who did drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and gave it to the seed of Abraham your friend for ever (11)…’ God defended Judah and had the enemies of Judah destroy each other so that none escaped. Judah spent several days collecting the spoils from the dead enemy. Their neighbors were then afraid of Judah. You can read about it in II Chronicles 20:1-30.

But you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend (12).

Behold, all they that were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with you shall perish (13).

Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you, saith the Lord, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel (14).

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He said not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Christ (15).

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise (16).

For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond or free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (17).

COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

We see in scripture that Isaac was the seed of Abraham, as well as Israel and his decedents. Jesus in particular is the seed of Israel and those who believe in Jesus for salvation become the seed of Abraham. The Abrahamic covenant extends to all people regardless of ancestry through faith in Jesus.

The God of Abraham helps the seed of Abraham. Today the descendants of Israel are in the land of Israel and the Muslims want to destroy them totally. God has promised to help Israel and destroy those nations which are against them. That would include Russia and China. The United States of America has been against Israel ever since Jimmy Carter became President of the United States. Land for peace brings God’s judgment on this nation and certainly a Palestine state will bring more of God’s judgment on this nation.

In the United States of America there are many people who are the seed of Abraham by faith in Jesus Christ. If America is strong in faith, God will help America against its enemies. Ironically the greatest enemies of America are within the nation itself seeking its destruction because they hate God and follow Satan. Notice the praise given to tyrant leaders of nations. Notice that many members in the United States House of Representatives and Senate praise the enemies of the United States of America , they also condemn or troops who are fighting to protect us from these same enemies. It was Congress who caused America to lose the Vietnam War and caused the death of many thousands of Vietnamese when the Communists took over. The last time I was on guard duty in Vietnam it was with a Mountain Tribes Soldier and we sung hymns together. It was his people who were killed by the North Vietnamese. Those protesting the war did not care for they love evil and hate good. America is in a spiritual cultural war for its very survival. Have you noticed? Do you care?

‘Baptize into Christ’ does not mean water baptism. The word ‘baptize’ means to immerse. Upon salvation one is immersed into the body of Christ with Jesus as the head. The many who are born again are then one in Christ. In the same way the three persons of the God Head are one.

COMPARING & CONTRASTING THE KORAN WITH SCRIPTURE

In the Koran Abraham asks the god of the Koran about his descendants. Abraham is told that his covenant does not extend to evil-doers. Is it possible that this is true in scripture as well? The answer is yes and no.

Yes, in that Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. Why is this so? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone; As it is written, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed (18).’

No, whoever curses Israel is cursed by God, even if Israel has no faith and acts wickedly. They still inhabit the gates of their enemies. God still blesses those who bless Israel.

CONCLUSION

Islam has stumbled over the same stumbling stone as Israel without the law of righteousness. What the Koran calls belief is really unbelief. An ‘evil-doer’ is one who lives without faith in Jesus. Faith in Jesus is to believe that He is the Son of God as well as the Son of Man, that He lived a sinless life and was without any sin, and that He took the sins of the whole world in his own body on the cross and received the wrath of God for those sins and died and shed his blood for you. Faith in Jesus is to believe is that Jesus rose from the dead the third day and today is seated at the right hand of God the Father and that you are a sinner and in need of a savior.

If you want to be of the seed of Abraham you need to repent of your sins by confessing to God that you are a sinner and invite Jesus into your heart. A sample prayer is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my sin and come into my heart.”

Friend and fellow-blogger Sam pointed out to me today that the newly completed Democratic Presidential ticket, Obama Biden (OB), is a killer – a baby-killer - of a ticket.

How ironic, OB is the abbreviation for Obstetrics. According to Merriam-Webster On-Line Dictionary, Obstetrics is “the branch of medicine that deals with the care of women during pregnancy and childbirth, and for some six weeks following delivery.” Obama and Biden have strong pro-abortion records. They will take care of mother and baby just fine. “Murder We Wrote” should the campaign theme of the Obama-Biden ticket.

Merriam-Webster also defines ob as an abbreviation for the Latin word obiit, which means "he died; she died," which is even more appropriate for the new Democratic ticket of OB!

One ballot issue, California’s Proposition 8, will be more important to the future of this nation and all of Western Civilization than even the vote on the two very flawed major party offerings for President in this year's election on November 4, 2008.

INTIMIDATION

PRINCIPLE

The battle to place Proposition 8 on the ballot in California has been heavyweight-boxing-championship tough. Both sides have landed some severe punches to the opposition. In one corner proudly stands the pro-same-sex ‘marriage’ advocates (THE IMITATORS & IMTIMIDATORS.) In the opposite corner humbly but resolutely stand the , one-man, one-woman marriage or legitimate marriage advocates (the PASSIONATE & PRINCIPLED.) The one-man, one-woman advocates are the reigning champions and have been so since time began. The upstart same-sex ‘marriage’ advocates fight dirty and have hoards of money and friends in high places, which they are using to influence the fight.

Round One was won by the one-man, one-woman marriage advocates, who answered a fight left handed punch propelled by the California Supreme Court on May 15th that declared same-sex ‘marriage’ to be ‘legal.’ ‘Legal’ to the same degree that the U.S. Supreme Court decreed that killing of unborn babies to be ‘legal’ in 1973. In both cases the courts’ ruling were activist and tyrannical, and more importantly, immoral, unjust, and unethical.

Round Two was won by the same-sex ‘marriage’ advocates who rallied with the assistance of California Attorney General Jerry Brown’s biased and totally political rewriting of the ballot language of Proposition 8 to make the issue out to be a civil rights matter and not a matter of morality and commonsense. The one-man, one-woman advocates staggered and absorbed the punch below the belt and kept fighting with new resolve. The Church in California may have awoken from its slumber and is beginning to join the fight.

The match is even. The campaign the next two and a half months will be intense. Both side will seek help, both inside and outside of California. The punches will continue to feverishly fly. The fight will be won by the side that perseveres . . .

Society will be hurt as a result as well as children because of this confusion.

The candidate that caught the most fish at the end of the week would win the election.

"Therefore, it was decided that there should be an ice fishing contest between the two candidates to determine the winner.

"After much of back and forth discussion, it was decided that the contest take place on a remote frozen lake in northern Minnesota.

"There were to be no observers present, and both men were to be sent out separately on this isolated lake and return at 5 P.M. with their catch for counting and verification by a team of neutral parties. At the end of the first day, John Sidney McCain returned to the starting line and he had ten fish.

"Soon, Barack Hussein Obama returned and had no fish. Well, everyone assumed he was just having another 'bad hair' day or something and hopefully, he would catch up the next day.

Well with Barack Hussein Obama's selection of Sen. Joseph Biden of Connecticut, I am at least 50% wrong on my prediction of who would be the Veep candidates for the Democratic and Republican Presidential tickets. Selecting anyone other than Hillary Rodham Clinton weakens Obama's chances of getting elected. According to OnTheIssues.com Obama is classified as a hard-core liberal, while Biden is considered a populist-leaning liberal. In other words, Biden is to the right of Obama's extremism, however, both fall far short of my beliefs about abortion and same-sex special "rights" including same-sex civil unions or "marriage."

It would seem to me that McCain will have to name someone who is younger than he is in order to offer a "balanced" ticket. More important, however, McCain needs to put a conservative on the ticket to balance his own moderate-to-liberal political philosophy. I predicted that McCain will select Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. Rob Portman might also fill the bill. Lieberman, Romney, or Ridge are just more-of-the-same-McCain or worse . . .

Obama Ridicules the Holy Bible

To summarize the video, Oh!Bomb’er says that if we are going to use the Bible in public policy, should we use Leviticus where it says that slavery is OK…should we use Deuteronomy where it says you should stone your child if he strays from the faith? Then he said that the Defense Department does not live up to the principles of the Sermon on the Mount.

First of all the concept of slavery was different in the southern states of America in the 1800s than it was during under the Law of Moses. People were not enslaved just because of their race. Permanent slavery was a means of punishment for crimes (usually war crimes) and temporary slavery was used as means of payment of debt. Masters were not allowed to mistreat their slaves as they were in America. Obama is using the word “slavery” deceitfully to bash the Bible. You can read the scripture texts for yourself and find out more about this in a series of posts that starts here.

The comment about stoning a child to death for “straying from the faith” may be based on Deuteronomy 17:2-7. Summarizing this passage, it says, “If there be found any among you… [that] hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them…and [thou] shalt stone them with stones, till they die.”

This is a difficult passage, but without going into to too much depth here is brief explanation. The nation of Israel was set apart by God to be Holy. Therefore, wickedness had to be treated with severity. The principle is this—the more you know about God and the more you have seen His power, the more responsible you are for following God’s commandments. The nation of Israel was, in some sense, closer to God than any in history. They passed through the Red Sea on dry land. They saw Moses face when he came down from the holy mountain. This lead to the necessity of more severe punishments for those who witnessed all this and still worshipped other gods. This principle is contained in passages like Luke 12:47-48. Another principle is that when someone is given a righteous punishment it is hypocritical if the one doing the punishing has committed worse sins than one being punished. This principle is contained passages like John 8:1-11 and Matthew 18:21-35.

As for the comment about the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), I agree with Obama, but not for the reasons he does and he is like the pot calling the kettle black. If you are in favor of allowing fully born babies to left to die without punishing the killers, you cannot take a word of what Christ says seriously. The remark about the Defense Department probably particularly refers to Matthew 5:38-42. I expose this false interpretation here and here. Ironically, the following is part of the very Sermon on the Mount which Obama speaks so highly of:

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:17-19)

But Obama makes it sound like the law (which includes Leviticus and Exodus) is totally unreasonable. But God really is strict in punishment. He is holy. Have you ever been angry with someone without cause (Matthew 5:21-22) or looked at someone with lust (see Matthew 5:27-28)? If you do have to face a God who is totally just and has never sinned, would he say that you are innocent or would he say that you are guilty? Do you know what God did (if not see I John 2:2) so that you would not have to go to hell (see Matthew 5:29-30) for what you have done? What do you have to do then to be saved? If you don’t know see John 3:16, Romans 10:9, Acts 2:38.

George Lilly for Congress

The McCain camp was so desperate to stop Ron Paul’s supporters from winning nominations to house seats that they recruited a homeless man to run against George Lilly in the race for congress in Colorado’s first district. George doesn’t have much on his website, but there is a lot about his positions on the Project Vote Smart website.

Some things he writes are kind of funny, like:

“I didn't know we had a missile defense system. That's good news if it's true.”

“Get the fed's out of education entirely before every child is left behind.”

“Right now we have places in Miami that put up signs ‘No se habla’. Shall we have our ballots and street signs printed in dozens of languages?”

“Are we going to spank every nation that misbehaves according to us?”

About regulating internet gambling he says, “There should be no law against stupidity.”

“Where in the Constitution does it say that the fed's are suppose to house us, feed us and hold our hands from the cradle to the grave? Wake up people before it's too late!”

He believes that money spent by the federal government should be greatly decreased in most areas and even completely eliminated in the case of agriculture, arts, education, international aid, medical research, national parks, public health services, scientific research, space exploration programs, United Nations, welfare and all federal programs designed to reduce unemployment. He believes that providing healthcare is not a responsibility of the federal government. Its not that he is against all these things, but he believes that these things are best handled by the states, local governments, or the private sector. He would require that the federal budget be balanced.

On defense spending, he says:

“We need to extricate our military out of most of the 135 countries they're in. I oppose U.S. imperialism. Let's be friends with all as best we can. Let's mind our own business and be prepared to defend ourselves against legitimate attacks. We don't need any more Gulf of Tonkin incidents or any other contrived reason for going to war.”

He would eliminate the income taxes and the IRS, alcohol taxes, capital gains taxes, cigarette taxes, corporate taxes, and inheritance taxes. He would also abolish the Federal Reserve.

He supports removing all contribution limits on federal campaigns and parties. He would repeal the 17th amendment.

On the environment, he favors strengthening the regulation and enforcement of the Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act, but says this “must be within the context of punishing chief executives and chairmen of the board before going after some little guy, and they seem to be the ones who suffer”. He supports nuclear power, alternative fuels, and domestic oil exploration in areas that are currently restricted. He says that ethanol as an alternative fuel, however, is “a fraud perpetrated primarily by Archer Daniels Midland & Dwayne Andreas Chmn”.

He supports the elimination of restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns.

He takes a strong stand against illegal immigration and would decrease the number of legal immigrants allowed into the country, establish English as the official national language, support harsher financial punishments for those who knowingly employ illegal immigrants, and support merit-based visas over family-based visas. He believes that Illegal immigrants should have to return to their countries of origin before being considered for citizenship.

Should the United States support the creation of a Palestinian state? Should the United States continue to provide leadership in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process? George says, “No, we have acted hypocritically and disingenuously - let's mind our own business.” He believes that we should withdraw our troops from Iraq.

On international trade he says, “Free trade I support - managed trade, WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA etc., I oppose. Trade between people and businesses are o.k. as long as no treasonous activity is taking place. Let's have free trade with the understanding that any country that employs slave labor will be required to pay a 1000% tariff.”

About holding foreign states accountable for terrorists who operate in their country, he says, “this applies if the country in question is complicit. If not, then we should use the Constitution's ‘Marque and Reprisal clause, which amounts to a surgical strike to go after only the terrorists and not the government of that nation.” He is against pre-emptive military strikes, using military tribunals against civilians, and a national ID card system.

He believes that abortions should ONLY be legal when the life of the woman is endangered.

He is against legalization of same-sex marriage, but does not support a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman. “This is a state issue, and no state should be able to impose its morality on another state. I don't want our corrupt federal government defining marriage. God does that.”

He believes that government should discontinue affirmative action programs.

He supports allowing people to discontinue their participation in the Social Security system.

The Opposition

George’s main opponent, the incumbent Diana L. DeGette, is ultraliberal. She believes that all abortions should be legal. She voted for a bill (HR 4871) that would have allowed federal funding of abortions (not that this funding doesn’t go on under the table despite the ban).

It seems like there aren’t hardly any appropriations bills that she won’t vote in favor of, except for national defense. She even voted to restore 98 million dollars in funding to the National Endowment of the Arts. She is in favor of a universal healthcare program.

She voted for both ENDA and hate crimes legislation. She has voted against allowing states to permit displays of the Ten Commandments in courthouses and prayer in schools as well as the Religious Liberty Protection Act of 1999 (HR 1691).

She voted against bills that would have withdrawn the U.S. from the U.N. and the WTO.
