What Democrats Want, Day 24, Countdown to Oblivion? OPIOIDS

As of today, there are 24 days until the most consequential election in American history. This is what they say about many past elections, but this is really it. For if the Democrats seize power – control of the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate and the Presidency – and doing it by hook or by crook (the justifies the means, you know) America as we know it will be forever changed. America envisioned and created by the Founding Fathers will disappear into the shadows of history.

The ungodly secular-humanists/Marxists slow march through America’s institutions over the last 100 years or so will have reached a crescendo – fulfilling Mr. Obama’s fundamental transformation of control of the masses.

Envision with me what a Socialist Democratic Party, takeover, a bloodless coup, a regime change, would look like. This is one in a series of daily articles leading up to the 2020 General Election.

 

AS if marijuana use (see yesterday’s post, Day25) is not bad enough, increasingly young people are dying from opioid overdosing. The Chinese Communist COVID-19 related deaths among young people is negligible compared to both suicide and drug overdose.

 

What are opioids?

According to www.HopkinsMedicine.org/opioids/what-are-opioids.html,   “Opioids can be prescription medications often referred to as painkillers, or they can be so-called street drugs, such as heroin.”

 

Opioid Epidemic/Crisis

www.DrugAbuse.gov, a National Institute on Drug Abuse website, summarized the opioid overdose crisis as follows, “2018 data shows that every day, 128 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids.¹ The misuse of and addiction to opioids—including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl —is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total "economic burden" of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement.

Interestingly the above article points out that “An estimated 4 to 6 percent who misuse prescription opioids transition to heroin.” And “about 80 percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription opioids.”

 

Does Marijuana Use Lead to Opioid Use?

I wonder how many people who use heroin first used marijuana. I found an article that did indicate that “a 2015 study analyzed lifetime cannabis users and concluded that nearly 50% of participants went on to take other "illicit drugs.” Those illicit drugs most likely included opioids.

 

Drug Trafficking

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of the United States declared Mexico is the “primary source” of heroin for the U.S. market.

 

Solutions

It seems that there are two fronts in overcoming the opioid epidemic. First the overprescribing of painkillers. Some physicians are being investigated and charged with overprescribing some of these drugs.

Another front is stopping drug traffickers at the border. President Trump has focused much of his effort on securing the border. However, the Democrats in Congress and governors have fought him tooth and nail. There needs to be a united effort between the President and Congress to fight this war. It is killing Americans.

Drones are being used to transport drugs over the border. These need to be intercepted and destroyed. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) needs to be strengthen not eliminated as the Democratic Party wants to do.

 

Conclusion

President Trump and a Republican House and Senate would do more than a Harris-Biden government would. First, they favor legalizing marijuana and easing penalties for its use. Second, they literally want open borders, which gives free reign to drug traffickers and other nefarious unvetted individuals. The Democrats want to eliminate ICE and defund police departments. What deterrents remain with those perverse policies.

Vote Democratic Party if you want to see drug use and abuse become even more widespread. Vote Republican if you want to see real action taken in securing the border and stopping drug trafficking, supporting local, state and federal law enforcement who are on the front lines in bringing drug dealers and users to justice.
