OneNewsNow.com reported today that pro-life activist Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics, Incorporated remarked that Senator Sam Brownback's (R-KS)decision to support [radically] pro-abortion Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D-KS) for Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary shows that his commitment to the unborn is merely political rather than a central, deeply held core value or principle. In other words, it was the action of a person more interested in winning votes than in doing the right thing. The right thing in this case is to condemn Sebelius' nomination and to do everything one could to thwart it.
Apparently Brownback either was resigned to the fact that Soetoro (a/k/a Obama) is intent on nominating a like-minded Pro-Death champion like himself and that it was futile to resist, or Brownback sees his support for Sebelius as a step in his own quest for governorship as he abandons his Senate seat in 2010. In either case he is wrong.
Furthermore, the OneNewsNow.com news article quotes Crutcher as having said that the Pro-Life movement has been "stabbed in the back by people like Sam Brownback so many times" that the movement should have learned the lesson that the measure of a Pro-Life lawmaker is not what he tells you he believes, but rather what he will do to protect the life of the unborn.” I concur with Mr. Crutcher.
According to the an article on its website the American Life League (ALL) calls President (Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack) Obama’s appointment of Kansas Gov. Sebelius for HHS Secretary, “rock solid proof our new president has no concern for the health of Americans. Rather, Obama’s modus operandi has and will continue to be full-scale attack on the personhood of the weak, disabled and preborn.
“Kathleen Sebelius, Obama’s pick to lead the nation’s chief agency for health care, has made no secret of her radical support for the abortion movement. Indeed she has praised, defended and treated to dinner at the governor’s mansion the notorious Dr. George Tiller – set to stand trial for performing illegal late term abortions . . .
“Appointing Gov. Sebelius to HHS Secretary is like appointing Dr. Jack Kevorkian as Surgeon General. Kathleen Sebelius poses a huge threat to the health and well-being of every single American, particularly those marginalized by the culture of death.

Yes, Brownback has been very disappointing in the past as well. He votes for DHHS appropriations bills which allow for funding of abotions in cases of rape and incest. I have heard rumors that he supported Rudy Giuliani for president. (I know for a fact that he said that he would support the GOP nominee no matter who it was. Recall this post from last year.)
