All was not Lost, Silent Victories

All is not gloom and doom for conservatives and true born-again, bible believing and practicing followers of Jesus Christ. One could easily become discouraged at the results of the election earlier in the week. However, we must remember it was the fat and greedy GOP who lost their majority rule, not the people’s embrace of the mostly stealth policies, profane platform advocated by the extreme leftist controlled Democratic Party leadership. Let Dean, Pelosi and Schumer gloat and implement “their” vision for America and let us see how far or how much the American people can take of it.

CONSERVATIVE VALUES, VICTORY NUMBER 1

In Ohio 58% of the voters were not swayed by the free college education ploy of the casino industry and said no to expanding gambling.

A dozen states had measures on the ballot which places greater restrictions on taking of property (Eminent Domain) by the government from private parties. Only three states or 25% of the states rejected the restrictions, meaning those states moved to curtail the damage done by liberal activities judges.

In Arizona two immigration related (English only, and limiting illegal alien benefits) issues passed by more than 70% of the voters.

7 of 8 states voted for the protection of traditional one-man, one-woman marriage (isn’t it silly you even have to qualify what we mean these days by marriage? Ridiculous). This was a much underreported news story? Why, because it does not comport with the liberal agenda being foisted upon and propagandized to the American society by the MSM caustic Courics and the badmouthing Brians of the so-called news departments . . . To date 27 state out of 28 have said yes to legitimate marriage and no to unnatural immoral inferior toxic unions of same sex misbehavior. Sanctity and exclusivity of real marriage is a precious value that must be preserved for the sake of children and a moral society.

Senator Allen, some say and I agree, lost his seat in Virginia due to his lukewarm support of the marriage protection measure which passed with 57% of the vote. He was not very intolerant of so-called homosexual special rights either. Both of these hurt him at the polls.

All of these issues where downplayed by the liberally biased MSM. They wanted to dwell on the Democratic sweep of the GOP and the few issues like rejecting the strong abortion ban in S.D. or the passage of the deceitful ESCR amendment in MO. Maybe the main stream media was even implying that the people wanted the dreadful liberal policies conjured up and embraced by the Democratic Party leadership. Wrong! That the majority of conservative minded ballot measures passed indicated a latent support for conservative ideas and principles.

CONSERVATIVE WAKE-UP CALL, VICTORY NUMBER 2

I asked rhetorically in yesterday’s AGC article, “When You Gonna Wake-Up?”, which was addressed to all American conservatives. This great election loss in the House and Senate could be a great inducement and incentive to get us conservatives off our collective butts and back on the front line lines in the battle for the life blood of this nation.

The MSM also denies that it was the conservatives within both parties who really won this election for the Democrats. The conservative movement is not dead by any means. The Values Voters may have stayed home in droves, disappointed and discouraged over the GOP shenanigans the past few years, but who will be watching and waiting to see what the blue dog Democrats do and the conservative remnant in the GOP does over the next two years.

These simple, yet profound lyrics based on a biblical passage found in Revelation 3:1-3 could be applied to us as individuals, to the conservative movement, to the Republican Party and/or to America as a whole. The words, “Things that remain”, could be considered conservative principles, morality and Judeo-Christian values. The result of Election 2006, for the most part, was a rousing wake-up call for Republicans and especially for true conservatives (social preserving life, and fiscal - small government, low taxes and balance budgets, etc.) within and outside the GOP.

The Election was not a referendum against Conservative ideals or principles. Instead, it was more disapproval of the GOP and its lack of implementation of conservative ideology for which the current President and many now soon-to-be-former U.S. Senators and Representatives were elected in the first place. Bill Frist in the Senate and Denny Hastert in the House delivered on only a fraction of past election promises. They along with Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman seemed more interested in preserving power instead of practicing principle.

I am afraid that too many Values Voters stayed home. They joined the still too many uninvolved and uninterested Christian born-again bible-believing evangelicals, who fail to do even the minimum civic duty- voting. This group, if so moved, could dramatically impact and affect, both civilly and spiritually, the outcome of any election.

I must confess that I have been duped and lulled to sleep by the lethargic pace of our supposed conservative President and his cohorts in the Congress. I supported them to the bitter end, Tuesday 11.07.07. I bit, but held my tongue when they disappointed me by passing the Amnesty for illegal aliens in the Senate, when it was revealed that the President was plotting to set up a North American Union with Mexico and Canada on the sly, when our ports were almost turned over to be managed by dubious Arab “friendly” companies, and when precious little was done on social issues such as stopping abortion. Well it took the election victory of America’s near-enemies within, the Democrats, to wake me up to the reality of the situation.

The Democrats did not win as much as the Republicans-in-Dem clothing, the big government big-spending Republicans beat up and out the Republican-conservative voice in the Party and in the Congress, lost.

I agree with Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, who issued a statement yesterday, in which he closed it by saying,

“Republican leaders in Congress during this term apparently never understood, or they forgot, why Ronald Reagan, was so loved and why he is considered one of our greatest presidents. If they hope to return to power in ’08, they must rediscover the conservative principles that resonated with the majority of Americans in the 1980’s– and still resonate with tem today. Failure to do so will be catastrophic. Values Voters are not going to carry the water for the Republican Party if it ignores their deeply held convictions and beliefs. . .

Yes, let us Values Voters and born-again true followers of Jesus Christ pay particular heed to the clarion alarm that resounded Tuesday night, Wednesday morning and demand more conservative representation and conservative action from those in Congress. Let’s continually ask ourselves, “Are we a part of the solution, or are we a part of the problem”? Let us diligently seek to preserve, promote and pursue the conservative values and Judeo-Christian principles that Americans have so long cherished and practiced.

Celebrate Veterans' Day

Even though I am against most of the wars that the U.S. has gotten involved in during the last century, I have no ill feeling toward the veterans and those currently serving in the millitary. They have definitely been mistreated, misused, and taken for granted. This Veterans day, I would like show my support for the millitary by making the following suggestions and demands of our government concerning them:

I support increasing pensions for veterans so that they can serve and live with dignity without the aid of public assistance. All veteran's current spouses and widows should be treated equally, in accordance with Federal law. All deceased veterans should be buried with honor. There should be no reduction of military pay in combat areas. By law the County Commissioners have oversight of veteran health care benefits. They sign off on the assurances that each veteran in the county has received proper services. If such officials are found to be misusing public monies or falsifying federal documents, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. (code title 38 USC & 38 CFR) Veterans, including those with permanent and total disabilities, are entitled to complete health care at any medical facility licensed to provide health services. Veterans’ Universal Insurance by law provides these services and does not stipulate that they must only occur at a VA Hospital. As a contract this cannot be changed until all the members of the class are deceased. I am against any attempt to reduce any veteran’s benefits from their current levels.

’06 Election, Picking Up the Pieces

Richard Viguerie, political conservative strategist, in a NewsMax.com article today was quoted as saying that yesterday’s election showed that the Republican Party “failed conservatives who put them in office, and they failed the people of this country.” I agree. More than a referendum favoring the flawed fragmented false liberal promises, principles and agenda, the results of this election were a repudiation of George Bush and the Republican Party. The voters voted against the GOP more than they voted for the Democratic Party. The GOP and Bush strayed far from the principles and reasons why I elected and then supported them until the bitter end, November 7, 2006.

In that same NewsMax.com article Vigueie is quoted as saying, "Conservatives and value voters had long since felt betrayed by President Bush and the Republican Congress, which greatly reduced their enthusiasm for supporting those who had abandoned them. . . One thing this election was not is a repudiation of conservativsm. The twin pillars of conservatism - smaler government and traditional values - have the support of the same voters who threw out the Republican Congress." Further quoting, Viguerie, "Conservative Republicans should quickly disassociate themselves from the failed big government policies of President Bush and set a conservaive course." The gist of the article is captured in its title, "Angry Viguerie: Fire GOP Leadership". I agree Denny Hastert must step down along with the other leaders and give over Party leadership to fresh, conservative voices.

Ken Mehlman, Republican National Committee Chairman, said in a CNSNews.com item today that he was disappointed on a number of levels with the Democratic victories. Although, ‘2 years’ late and ‘billions and billions of dollars deeper in deficit’ short, Mehlman has the nerve to say his party must take the following action:


· “First and foremost, rededicate themselves to their “conservative, reform principles.”

· “Second, he said Republicans must “try to work where we can on a bipartisan basis with Democrats.” While maintaining conservative principles.

· “And finally, he said Republicans must lose the taint of corruption. . . “”


The CNSNews.com article concludes, “Mehlman said “there’s no reason” why Republicans and Democrats can’t work together on national security (the threat posed by “Islamic fascism”) immigration reform and health care reform. I ask, why have Republicans not been doing this all along? Why did it have to take a resounding defeat to get the GOP’s attention? The GOP, as well as the conservative movement, have both suffered a set-back. I would advise the Republican Party to clean house including canning Ken Mehlman and bringing in party new Chairman to begin the rebuilding process immediately.

In an October 4, 2006 article, Bill Berkowitz quotes Richard Viguerie, who prophetically said, “Many times, if not most times, our best success has come after defeat.” Berkowitz also writes, “less than a week before the November 2004 election, Viguerie told . . . Bill Moyers that after Bush won, “somewhere around the morning after the election . . . the war starts for the heart and soul” of the Republican Party. It’s gonna be a war, Viguerie said. A war “between the traditional conservatives, those who identify with Ronald Reagan, people like myself (a)nd the big government Republicans (a)nd then also maybe the Neo-cons.”” Viguerie was right. The big-government Republicans beat the traditional conservatives, only to lo lose to the Democrats on 11.07.07.

Concerning the big government Republican defeat of the traditional conservatives prior to the 2006 Election, Berkowitz writes, “Sometimes” Viguerie maintained, “a loss for the Republican Party is a gain for conservatives.” . . .

So what do we do? Sit back and let the radical liberals in control of the Democratic Party destroy this country the next two years? Berkowitz writes, “As Frederick Clarkson . .. observed in a . . . posting at the Talk To Action blog, “Although Viguerie is calling for the movement to pull back from the GOP for now, he seems to be arguing that conservatives need to reorganize and become a stronger force in the GOP rather than bolt” to Howard Phillips’ Constitution Party or any other third party effort.”

In the NewsMax.com article cited above Viguerie also admonished ". . . grass-roots conservatives must no longer act as an appendage of the Republican Party. We should concentrate instead on becoming a Third Force in American politics that forces both parties to the Right and sets the Nation's agenda. In that regard, we should reach out to the new Deomcrats of 2006 and see whether they are indeed prepared to vote diferently from San Francisco Democrats. . . "

I look forward to 2008 when America, by then will be fed up with the lack-of-action, except for taxing and spending, liberals, even more than the big government Republican over-spenders, will be ready to elect traditional conservatives to whichever party that will embrace them: Democratic, or Republican or Constitutional or another Party.

Election Day Red or Election Day Blue?

When I arrived at my polling place, a church owned multi-use building, this evening I found that there were more than a dozen people in line in front of me. One of the election workers said it had been busy throughout the day. If my polling location here in small town central Ohio was any indication of the turn out in Ohio and America this was not a typical off year election. Later this evening someone commented that people were very upset with the Republicans in Ohio. I am upset as well, but not so upset that I would sit out the election or that I would vote for a party of death, doom, deceit, depravity, and for the party that denies the existence of evil or evil nations.

Sometimes it takes a foreigner to see what should be obvious to every American voter. Let me illustrate via an Agape Press item that I read this evening:

A Canadian-born columnist and author says a Democratic victory in today's congressional elections would send a message to many U.S. allies around the world. Mark Steyn says he has no doubt that "if the American people decide they want the United States Congress run by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, that will be seen allaround the world essentially as a repudiation of the entire war on terror." A Democratic-led Congress, he contends, "would be seen as a reward for a party that is profoundly unserious on national security issues." He describes the Democratic Party as a "September the 10th" party that refuses to recognize there is a problem. "And when they do speak out, if you're sitting in Singapore and India and other countries that are well disposed toward America, you would have to conclude that this nation simply lacks the belief in itself to win over the long term," says Steyn; "and that's very dangerous for America." Steyn recently released his new book, America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It.

I am hopeful that many new conservatives will be added to both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate and that there number would grow among the GOP members. I also am hopeful that the party of more conservatives will retain both houses of Congress. If not, the challenge would be to minimize the damage that Nancy Pelosi and/or Harry Reid would do over the next 2 years until the next election when once again we will have a chance to continue to move the ship of state ahead or to right the ship if the left wins the day today.

As important as the Senate and the House may be, some of the ballot issues are also going to be equally important in discerning the mind and mood of America. If any of the 8 marriage protection amendments, the Missouri embryonic stem cell research ballot issue, the Ohio casino gambling amendment, or the South Dakota Abortion ban fail, that will not be a good indication. It will show how far the morality of this country has declined.

In conclusion, I pray that God does not give us those politicians that we deserve, like Nancy or Harry or Sherrod, but would have mercy on us and continue to bless us with conservatives who in turn actually be real conservatives the next two years. We need conservatives who will be part of the solution to America's problems, moving away from a culture of death, standing the course toward winning the War on Terror in Iraq and elsewhere, putting an end to the deficit and deficit spending and who would not be tempted to increase the size of government, and who would not feel the need to tax us to death.

Preparing Yourself to Vote: Four Timeless Principles

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual—or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.” --- Samuel Adams

The following excerpt was taken from an excellent article, “How to Vote from the Historic Judeo-Christian Perspective”, by the Peter A. Lillback, Ph.D. Dr. Lillback also wrote the book George Washington's Sacred Fire, which is a current national bestseller.

“Our founding document, The Declaration of Independence, gives us four timeless principles that we must acknowledge when electing leaders for our nation:

1. We must reflect the "laws of nature" and the "laws. . .of Nature’s God" in our political activities: When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them.

2. We must recognize that our activity in the democratic process is a gift of God Himself: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...

3. We are accountable to God for what we do in our roles as citizens: We therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good people of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States…

We need to keep these truths in mind as we go into the voting booth tomorrow or anytime that we exercise this right and duty.

In the same article Dr. Lillback identifies seven principles to consider when we choose our national leaders:

1. Voting is a sacred responsibility . . .
2. Character matters in elected officials . . .
3. Righteousness exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34) . . .
4. Marriage & the family are established by our Creator . . .
5. Sanctity of Life is the ideals that we must pursue . . .
6. Judicial activism is a threat to our Constitution and to our freedom . . .
7. Free Speech and religious liberty are cornerstones of our nation . . .

These are definitely the things that I look for in a candidate and vote accordingly. Do make A Good Choice tomorrow and vote your conscience and vote conservative, Judeo-Christian values.

Reaction to the 12 Reasons

Someone indicated that yesterday’s list of 12 reasons, which I gave for not voting for Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senator from Ohio drew some reaction from one of the members of a discussion forum on which I occasionally write.

His first comment was that my list of 12 reassons not to vote for Rep. Brown was ridiculous. I objected stating that it was, Rep. Brown’s voting record that was worthy of the label of ridiculous. Next, the member-commenter continued stating that people like me believed that America was a Christian nation. He further declared that the U.S. Constitution, in fact, held that America was a secular nation, but did have freedom of religion. I countered that he was wrong. The leftist extreme liberal factions have subverted America having commandeered the educational system grades K-Grad school and are even continuing to revise God and the great influence of Judeo-Christian principles that underlie our Declaration and our Constitution, out of our history and textbooks.

Furthermore, the commenter challenged my reasons for not voting for Rep. Brown for U.S. Senator. Each of my reasons were based on 12 pieces of legislation onwhich Congressman Brwon voted. Really all we have to go by is the actions of politicians, not their rhetoric. Brown’s TV and radio commercials are marvelous. But he hides his record. Let’s discuss . . .

#1...Faith based provisions.....in hiring. The commenter stated that Congressman Brown voted against discriminating based on religion for jobs. My response was that Brown and his radical liberal ilk seek to neuter and discriminate against the work and ministry of the church. One way they do this is that they is to water down or demand that hiring be “non-discriminatory”. However, it is not discriminatory to have standards and requirements in a faith-based organization that requires a personal commitment that corresponds, conforms and is compatible with the faith-based organization mission, principles and values.

This is why the Boy Scouts of America do not permit homosexuals to be leaders. It would be a violation of the purpose and mission of that organization.

It is the people and their deep beliefs that are the church or the faith-based organization. Churches and faith-based organizations should never be required to compromise principles and core beliefs and hire anyone who does not support the underlying mission or core principles. It violates the right to express religious conviction and faith. If anyone is discriminating it is the liberal judges, attorneys, ACLU who want to rid this nation of every Christian influence.

#2... Terri Schiavo..... This was a case where the activist court acted like God, Himself, ignoring the parents plea and the underlying evil motives of Terri’s adulterous husband and sided with him to kill Terri.

#3... Estate tax.... The state does not have the right to tax the work of those who have worked hard and who desire to pass on the fruit of their work to their beneficiaries.

#4 ... Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act... The reason the commenter gave or this act was because it was to protect daughters from their incestuous fathers. I responded asking, if the reason for the interstate transport of minors for abortions is to protect “incestuous fathers”, then why don’t the teachers or guidance counselors not be reporting this to the authorities? Brown’s purpose for voting for it is nothing more than pandering to the Abortion-without-limits industry, that remains a pillar of the Party of Death, which many of the leaders of the Democratic Party, including Sherrod Brown belong.

#5 ...National Endowment of the Arts To pay for perversion in the arts is a waste of money and is equally detrimental to society. It also seems that Rep. Brown doesn’t care that this expenditure is wasteful and destructive.

#6 ... Stem Cell Research....My commenter friend said that this was just a silly anti-science by a right wing Christian. My response rhetorically asked, since when is the killing, the cannibalization of human beings considered a silly matter. This shows that Brown is a dyed in the wool member of the Party of Death. Adult Stem Cells and Umbilical Cord Stem Cells have produced results. ESCR have not. It is foolish to fund an area where in which even private industry refuses to invest. More important, the exploitation of human life is wrong. Life begins at conception and ends at natural death.

#7 ... Abortions The commenter espoused that abortion are legal in America. I countered that abortions are technically legal but ethically and morally wrong.

#8 ... Separation of church and state The commenter erroneously argued that the separation of church and state is spelled out in the Bill of Rights. I asked the commenter, where in the bill of rights do you find this invention of the revisionist misinterpretation of correspondence of Thomas Jefferson? It is not part of the Declaration, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights. It is a recent invention.

#9 ... Funding UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and Coercive Abortion The commenter said the real reason for this bill was to appease those in the White House who think the answer to normal sexual urges is always to “just say no”. My response was that the United Nations itself is corrupt to very core and undeserving of any U.S. funding. I question why are we even involved in this do nothing, anti-American organization.

#12 ... Federal Hate Crimes Amendment. The commenter suggested that the right wing desires only to bash homosexuals. I replied that homosexuals should not have any special classification or protection. They are citizens like all Americans. Sexual orientation is not a civil right. Sexual orientation is an invention of those who want to justify and rationalize their immoral behaviors. Homsexuality is primarily a choice of behavior. Why has homosexuality been rejected as “normal, natural” for 3,000 years? Why do the major faiths consider it perverse? Has man all of sudden become enlightened, or is it another invention of the radical left to corrupt and destroy fundamental Judeo-Christian principles and values on which this nation is bases?

CONCLUSION

The commenter tried to “explain away” the reasons, whichI gave for not to vote for Rep. Brown. To me, his arguments are the same old liberal-secular-humanistic mantra that we have been hearing for the last 100 years. It is time that we vote against the proponents of death, perversion, appeasement of our enemies, haters of America, haters of people who possess and practice Judeo-Christian principles.

Make A Good Choice on Tuesday and yote your conscience.. Vote for conservatives and start holding their feet to the fire to act on their conservative principles.

For the Record: 12 Reasons Not to Vote for Sherrod Brown

Citizens for Community Values Action put out a Vote Scorecared recently. CCV Action has taken the votes that most clearly affected Judeo-Christian family values and recorded how each Ohio legislator voted on those issues. Their scorecard breaks down key votes that both Ohio state and federal representatives. In this article I will focus on how Rep. Sherrod Brown voted on each of the following:

1 – Sherrod Brown voted YES on H.AMDT. 14, the Repeal of Faith-Based Provisions in Job Training Improvement Act, which sought to strike the provisions protecting the rights of faith-based organizations who participate in Workforce Investment Act programs to take religion into account in their hiring practices

2 - Brown did not vote on the Terri Schiavo Protection bill. [Had he voted more than likely it would have been a NO]

3 – Brown voted AGAINST the Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act (HR 8), which repeal of the estate tax permanent.

4 – Brown voted NO on the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (HR 748), which prohibits transporting a minor across a state line to obtain an abortion without parental knowledge in a state that requires parental involvement in a minor’s abortion decision.

5 – Brown voted NO to Reduce Funding for the National Endowment of the Arts (H.AMDT. 171), which sought to reduce funding for the National Endowment for the Arts . . .

6 – Brown voted YES on the Stem Cell Research Act (HR 810), which sought to overturn President Bush’s policy on funding human embryonic stem cell research by authorizing the NIH to fund stem cell research that requires the destruction of human embryos.

7 – Brown voted YES on H.AMDT. 209 to Require Military Hospitals to Perform Abortions.

8 - Brown voted NO ON H.AMDT.278, the Protection of Display of 10 Commandments.

9 - Brown voted YES on Funding UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and Coercive Abortion (H.AMDT.293)

10 – Brown voted NO on the Henry J. Hyde UN Reform Act of 2005 (HR 2745), which would reform budgetary process of 18 programs and making the budget process accountable.

11 – Brown voted NO on H.AMDT.427, Prevents Enforcement of Kelo Eminent Domain Ruling, which prohibits the use of funds to enforce the judgment of the US Supreme Court in the case of Kelo v. New London.

12 – Brown voted YES on the Federal Hate Crimes Amendment (H.AMDT. 544), which would establish federal “hate crimes” for certain violent acts based on the actual or perceived race, religion, disability, GENDER IDENTITY, or SEXUAL ORIENTATION of any person.. “Kerry, Smarts & the Truth” Don’t Belong Together

Senator John Kerry told a student audience earlier in the week that if you (the students) study hard and make yourself (themselves) smart, you (they) will do well. But if not you (they) will get stuck in Iraq. Actually there is a bias against people of faith and against those who have godly convictions, thereby preventing them from doing well regardless of how much education or “smarts” they have.

What an example you are, Senator. Yes, you are quite an example of what not to be and do. As a leader, people look up to you. You mislead, you lie and you insult. You are exactly the kind of politician who gives all politicians their repugnant reputation.

What Senator Kerry said was not a joke. He meant exactly what he said and was addressing the students and giving them advice. The Senator outright insulted the brave men and woman in our military, just as he did after the Vietnam War and as he did repeatedly during his failed run for President. The Senator has decried, disdained, despised and slandered the military his entire career. He has sought and continues to seek to weaken the nation and its ability to defend itself in the time of war by voting against the very weapon systems which are being used to win the war on terror today. The Islamic-Terrorists love to use you Senator. Senator Kerry, Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, the New York Times and Rep. Pelosi and Sen. Reid et al are internal terrorists, every bit as destructive to America as Osama and his gang of merciless suicidal maniacs.

The Senator did not need to offer his weak apology, which he reluctantly posted on his website after insisting he would never do. He is a disgrace and should immediately resign his office as Senator. If he does not resign, perhaps a drive should be started in Massachusetts to place a recall election on the state ballot as soon as possible.

R-Mary Taylor (for State Auditor) is a cosponsor of Ohio HB 228, which if passed, would ban abortion in Ohio.

Homosexual rights, Gay Marriage/Civil Unions

On his website, the defeated primary gubernatorial candidate Jim Petro said he supports a Federal Marriage Amendment, but he did oppose Issue 1 (of 2004), the Ohio Marriage Amendment that passed with overwhelming voter support. Petro says that the reason why he supports the Federal Amendment and not the State Amendment is because the language of the State Amendment is vague, and subjects the State of Ohio to potential lawsuits. But the reason why the language is vague is because it protects Ohio from having to recognize anything having the “qualities of marriage” between same sex couples. The proposed Federal amendment contains no language that would disallow civil unions or anything else that is an attempt to mimic gay marriage, but called by a different name. It is precisely this added language that Republicans Petro, Governor Taft, Senator Mike DeWine (up for U.S. Senate this year), and Senator George Voinovich have called “vague” in the State Amendment that is what makes it effective. The reasons why they were against it were fear of losing businesses to other states. DOMA is like the Federal Amendment proposal. It is useless. Bill Clinton signed DOMA into law.

Senate Filibusters of Judicial Nominees

Mike DeWine is one of the seven Republican senators who compromised against the proposal to change the rules of the Senate to disallow filibusters of the President’s judicial nominees.

2nd Amendment rights

Sandra (O’Brien) is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. She believes that law abiding citizens have the right to own firearms for hunting, sport shooting, or personal protection. Sandra supports concealed carry. She is a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). All voters should know that they have a clear choice on the issue of the Second Amendment.

More on Blackwell

After drumming up support for his Taxes and Expenditures Limitation Amendment, which would have limited wasteful spending in Ohio, Blackwell abandoned it.
In the hotly contested Republican primary, Jim Petro ran ads saying that Blackwell invested in stocks which included gambling, electronic voting machines, radio stations which use vulgar language, and even a pharmaceutical company that makes abortion pills. Blackwell said that he had been unaware of the investments because he doesn’t manage his finances himself. He has already sold the voting machine stock at a loss, and is working with the Ohio Right to Life to clean up the rest of his portfolio.

Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell was not initially concerned or even shocked that the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation had invested $50 million in rare coins.

In fact, Mr. Blackwell told The Blade on April 5 (2005) that "most people" wouldn't find it "unreasonable" that the state had invested in rare coins with Tom Noe, who has said through his attorneys that at least $10 million of the state's assets are missing.

"When you run a fund the size of $18 billion and you're looking at $50 million, beyond what one's disposition might be, is that an irresponsible amount of risk? Most people would say no," Mr. Blackwell said on April 5 (2005) - two days after The Blade's initial report on the coin investment.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The state's chief elections officer, accused of mishandling the presidential vote in Ohio, sent a fund-raising letter for his own 2006 gubernatorial campaign that was accompanied by a request for illegal contributions.

A pledge card with the letter from Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell (search), a Republican who co-chaired the Bush-Cheney election campaign in Ohio, said "corporate & personal checks are welcome."

Corporate donations are illegal in Ohio. His spokesman, Carlo LoParo, said Saturday that any corporate donations would be returned. Blackwell said the request sent to GOP donors and activists was an oversight. His campaign's fund-raising coordinator, Jeff Ledbetter, blamed a printer for the mistake, saying it used a template for an issue committee, which is allowed to accept corporate donations. Ledbetter told The Columbus Dispatch that no corporate donations had been received in response to the letter. Blackwell's letter also praises Republicans for helping deliver Ohio to President Bush. U.S. Rep. John Conyers (search), D-Mich., who prepared a report on election problems in Ohio, said the letter supports suspicions that Blackwell's actions as secretary of state during the election "stemmed from partisan political motivations" to help Bush.

Beating Back the Baby Butchers

Does having Parkinson’s disease give one the right to murder and cannibalize? Mr. Michel J. Fox, a supporter of this ballot initiative seems to think so. The main stream news media and the Democrat Party seem to think so. The republicans are different. They don’t seem to need an excuse to do embryonic stem cell research. This is shown by the passage of the embryonic stem cell research funding bill in the Senate and House, which thankfully was vetoed by the President. In addition, California’s GOP Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger set aside $3 Billion for embryonic stem cell research. ESCR is the dismemberment of a human being without any anesthesia or without the consent of the human being (giving approval to donate his/her organs) being dissected.

It is the destruction of a human being for the benefit of another. Those involved in the research are cannibals and murderers and those who approve are accessories to their crime and worthy of capital punishment.

God has promised that the earth in which the society lives which allows such practices will be cast out or destroyed. Using human embryos in research is the same as infant sacrifice in which infants were sacrificed to the gods, Moloch and Baal, which were the gods of sensuality and intellect. Please take note that those societies have perished. How do we know but what the war on terror is not God’s judgment

The dividing of the cells is determined by the genetic code on the chromosomes and is in the business of building the body for a new person. When the code is following the creation of a new person sequence it is not natural for the cells to function for any other purpose. Supposedly they form tumors when used in host patients. Adult stem cells, on the other hand, are designed by the body to be used where needed in the body and would be able to fit into most any tissue in need of its assistance.

SOUTH DAKOTA’S REFERRED LAW 6

Dr Allen & Mrs. Leslee Unruh, of the www.VoteYesForLife.com campaign , are fighting the good fight in South Dakota with their ballot initiative, Referred Law 6. Their ballot initiative would ban abortions in the state. This is the first major direct challenge to Roe v. Wade. If it is successful, it is hoped that the idea would spread through the nation like a wildfire and finally bring this horrific practice to an end, once and for all. We pray that it will pass November 7th. See gregjaye's previous article entitled “Showdown in South Dakota: David vs. Goliath”.

MISSOURI CONSTITUTIONAL INITIATIVE, AMENDMENT 2

Also on the ballot in Missouri next week is a constitutional initiative, Amendment 2, which Hilary White in an on-line article on the LifeSite website writes that the amendment “is being widely denounced as “deceptive” and manipulative by pro-life advocates opposed to human cloning and by those who fear women will be exploited for their ova in cloning experiments. . . . Opponents of the amendment have pointed to the dangers to women’s health and rights if the amendment goes through. The Missouri initiative will allow payments for ova, a practice that is illegal and considered unethical even in those countries that enthusiastically endorse therapeutic cloning. Many have pointed to the danger of exploiting economically disadvantaged women if payments are allowed for ova.” A NO vote is the correct vote on this ballot initiative, despite the exaggerated pleas of one Michael J. Fox.

CONCLUSION

A Good Choice on Tuesday, November 7th for the voters of South Dakota would be to overwhelmingly say YES to banning abortion in that state, for the voters in Missouri to vote NO on the deceptive “cloning ban”, which is really the opposite of banning but permits the harvesting of embryos.

Winning the Senate in the "Dynamic Dozen" States

T he U.S Senate holds the key to moving the country in a conservative direction, which America so desperately needs. Now the Senate, at best, can be described as “moderate”. Look at how it has recently dealt with three key issues: (1) passing amnesty as its answer to the illegal alien problem; (2) failing to invoke the nuclear option when the Democrats threatened to filibuster virtually all of President Bush’s judicial nominees, and (3) the shameful failure to the pass the Marriage Protection Amendment. These three items are reason enough to drive Americans, especially Values Voters to the polls next week.

THE ISSUES

There are many issues facing America at this time. However I firmly believe that are two that hold the key to our future as a nation. These issues are Life (to move to ban all abortion), passing the Marriage Protection Act or Amendment to once and for all settle that issue. These two issues define us as a nation. Do we want to turn into a godless and pagan also-ran European-like amoral society? Or do we want to return to the foundation that made this country great and once again uphold virtue and morality? We need to correct the course in which our society has been heading the last 100 years, leftward, ho. There are three other very important issues. solving the illegal alien invasion problem, seeking sustained economic growth while reducing the federal deficit and our national trade imbalance and we need to win the war on terror in Iraq and elsewhere.

To summarize, let’s use the acrostic, L.I.G.H.T., where:

L = sanctity of life (with a value of 3 points),
I = stopping the illegal alien invasion (a value of 2 points),
G = economic Growth, deficient reduction (a value of 2 points),
H = Protecting marriage & containing advancement of Homosexual agenda in so “successfully” pervasive in our society today (a value of 2 points), and
T = winning War on Terror in Iraq, etc. (a value of 2 points) .


THE GRADES

After analyzing the 24 candidates running for Senatorial office in the following states: ARIZONA, FLORIA, MARYLAND, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI, MONTANA, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, TENNESSEE, VIRGINIA and WASHINGTON, I created a simple grading system rating based on their voting recond on the 5 key issues identified above by the acrostic, L.I.G.H.T. I call my classification system gregjaye’s grades. The grades are a continuum, where A= strong conservative principled and practicing politician through F = intense liberal principled and practicing politician. Each candidate receives a grade based on where they stand of the 5 key issues. L (sanctity of Life) and H (marriage protection & restraining Homosexuality) are worth 3 points and the other three issues (see above under "The Issues") are worth 2 points.

CONCLUSION


To me all of those candidates with a grade of A, B, and C are key to moving the Senate in a more Conservative direction. Looking at the Senate race in Ohio it is DeWine with 8 points compared to Brown with no points, indicating that Brown is very on the five key issues important to Values Voters.

This grading system maty not be perfect, but it is an attempt to compare persons with conservative voting records to those with liberal voting records. It will be extremely interesting to follow the races next Tuesday to see if the Senate indeed becomes more conservative. Make A Good Choice on Election Day and vote conservative.

Even More Conservative U.S. Senators Wanted

In a previous article we covered four key U.S. Senate races in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Yesterday we talked about races in Arizona, Tennessee, Michigan and Missouri. Today we will round out discussion and talk about the races in the remainder of important state races for U.S. Senator.

As we said yesterday, all the races for U.S. Senator are important ub 2006. Why? First and foremost, only conservative Senators can be trusted to confirm a strict constructionist Supreme Court Justice if and when a vacancy occurs. Other issues also of great importance are: the War on Terror in Iraq and elsewhere, the on-going illegal alien invasion and controlling government spending to get a handle on the growing federal deficit.

As we did in yesterday's article, we have identified the key U.S. Senate races using the Faith2Action Voter Guide. In addition to the eight reaces discussed previously the following contests are also very important: Florida, Minnesota, Montana and Washington.

FLORIDA

Incumbent Senator Bill Nelson, a moderate liberal, faces Katerine Harris, a conservative. Harris has been villified and abused by the liberal main stream media, which has since the 2000 Presidential Election deliberate sought to destroy her for what they perceive she did to their boy, Al Gore. Sen. Nelson is pro-death, yet he supports traditional one-man, one-woman marriage. So I guess you you could say that he is not half-bad. Harris, however, is both pro-life and also supports the protection of traditional marriage.

MINNESOTA

In Jesse Ventura's state it is a battle between Mark Kennedy and Amy Klobuchar. Kennedy is a pro-life, pro-traditional marriage conservative. Wouldn't be nice to have a right thinking Kennedy in Congress, instead of tyranntical Ted Rex? Kennedy's opponent, Klobuchar, is pro-abortion and against protecting the exclusivity of traditional marriage.

MONTANA

Conrad Burns, the incumbent conservative, faces challenger Jon Tester, who is a liberal. Burns is strongly pro-life and pro-traditional marriage, while his opponent is pro-death and is far more ambivalent to protecting traditional marriage than is Burns.

WASHINGTON

Incumbent Sen. Maria Cantwell, a moderate-liberal, is running against Mike McCavick, a moderate-conservative. Two wishy washy candidates if you ask me. Although McCavick's position is much less supportive of abortion (he supports a ban on partial birth abortions) more protective of traditional marriage, he is at best a weak conservative, but superior to Cantwell, which is not saying much.

To me the more conservative the candidate on these two critical issues of life and marriage the better. Those two issues make or break a candidate. I go one step further and say that it will make or break a nation as well. We may, God willing, have more to say about these twelve Senate races tomorrow.

Wanted: More Conservative U.S. Senators

All the races for U.S. Senator this year are important. It is essential that more conservative Senators be elected. We are facing the distinct possibility that one more Supreme Court Justice appointment may be necessary. There is important legislation to passed, which needs every conservative vote that can be mustered. Key legislation keeping the necessary funding to pursue the war on terror in Iraq and to effectively solving the on-going illegal alien invasion problem.

The best way to deal with the issues above is to elect on strong conservatives or the candidate who most leans to the conservative side of moderate, Above all, it is most important to elect persons who possess and have proven that they will act on their conservative principles.

In a previous AGC article we wrote about the four key U.S. Senate races including Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Out of that group George Allen (VA), Rick Santorum (PA) and Michael Steele (MD) seem to fit the bill as strong conservatives. Mike DeWine is a mostly moderate who mostly leans conservative on several key social issues.

The Faith2Action Voter Guide identifies several other key races of national interest. Among these are senate races in Arizona, Michigan Missouri and Tennessee.

It is a Jon Kyl – Jim Pederson race in Arizona. Jim Pederson is a liberal who supports abortion on demand, supports and favors homosexual and lesbian unions. His opponent is a strong conservative and incumbent Senator Jon Kyl is pro-life and pro-traditional one-man, one woman marriage.

In Missouri, where I lived for several years, Senator Jim Talent is running against Claire McCaskill. Senator Talent is an advocate for life, he voted to ban partial birth abortions and against funding of embryonic stem cell research. He seems to me a moderate leaning conservative, similar to Mike DeWine. Like Sherrod Brown in Ohio, Claire McCaskill is a liberal.

Contending to fill Senator Bill Frist’s U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee are Bob Corker, Moderate Conservative and Harold Ford, a Moderate Liberal. Corker’s positions on abortion and protection of traditional marriage seem to be stronger than Ford’s.

Mike Bouchard faces incumbent Senator Debbie Stabenow in Michigan. Senator Stabenow is a liberal who strongly supports abortion on demand and does not support the protection of exclusive one-man, one-woman traditional marriage. Mike Bouchard opposes abortion and is against homosexual or lesbian “marriage”.

To me the electorates in Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri and Michigan would be making A Good Choice if they were to elect those people, who would likely vote conservative, like Jon Kyl, Jim Talent, Bob Corker and Mike Bouchard.

Showdown in South Dakota: David vs. Goliath

To me the premier issue today in America is abortion, the right to life for all human beings. The homosexuality issue is a a close second and America’s national defense is the third most important issue. The best defense that any country can have is to be a moral and just society. Without morality and justice, no amount of money can buy the defense necessary to protect us from the enemies of this nation or from the wrath and judgment of God, when He has had enough of our foolish wanton behavior.

WHY IS SOUTH DAKOTA IMPORTANT IN ELECTION 2006?

Let’s turn the political spotlight on a key battleground in Election 2006. South Dakota is a pro-life state. However, this year the scurrilous Planned (really “Preventing”) Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is spending $8,000,000 in a campaign to defeat Referred Law 6. Why? Why, indeed, when the supports of the Ban up until today had only a paltry $88,000 (or what amounts to a handfull of smooth stones)? Its the giant versus the little pip squeak state of South Dakota.

THE UNBEATEN FEARSOME GIANT , THE ABORTION INDUSTRY

Because this is the first time that there is a real possibility of making a statement about abortion nationally, it could mean the beginning of the end of abortion. This is perceived as very bad for the pushers of a culture of death and dismemberment, including the:

* Planned (really, preventing) Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is one of the largest and most "successful" providers of abortion and contraceptive services in America
* National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) is the abortion industry’s powerful voice and lobby
* National Organization for Women (NOW), our radical feminist friends who worship at the alter of abortion

Any proposed ban on this sacred abortion cash cow, abortion on demand, is a real threat to the abortion-extermination industry in America. It must be stopped at all cost, Goliath is hopping made. She’s (Gal-iath may now be a giant lesbian, transgender, bi-sexual, who knows) ready to stomp the hicks in S.D. The big artillery with their hordes of money for ammunition has rolled into South Dakota and has been working feverishly. Great amounts of money are being spent on spreading lies via TV, etc. There are even reports of pro-death mercenaries going to Indian reservations and telling the “naïve” natives to vote “no” telling them that a no vote means that they will be supporting the ban. Abortion is built and fueled by LIES. We expect nothing less than wholesale lies and deceit from this despicable group of accomplices to the murder of millions of innocent babies... the giant Goliath.

For good guys is the little David in the form of Dr. Allen and Mrs. Leslee Unruh, who are leading the effort to pass the abortion ban in South Dakota. The supporters of the ban on abortion put up signs and the the signs are vandalized. The small army of warriors on a tiny budget are butting heads with their giant abortion foe. The abortion forces are making an election, which should be a no brainer for a pro-life state, a tight race, because of the lies and distortions that are being propagandized on TV and other media ads throughout the state.

WHAT IS AT STAKE

Perhaps the single most important step since 1973 when Roe v. Wade became the law of the land. Here is a chance to bring about the first significant win for the advocates for life. It is critically important.

Liberal Lemmings Leaping

Today many in the Democratic Party follow the Party leadership’s dictated platform. The Party leadership expects their candidates to support abortion-on-demand at all costs. Ann Coulter in her latest book, Godless, The Church of Liberalism, calls abortion the greatest sacrament of the Church of Liberalism. The Democratic Party leaders are some of the strongest adherents of the Church of Liberalism.

It is almost impossible for a person to run as a Democrat and be pro-life or support traditional one-man, one woman marriage. There are a few exceptions to this general rule, there always are. Bob Casey, hopefully the soon to be also-ran, running against Rick Santorum’s for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania apparently is pro-life to the chagrin of the party I am sure. However, somewhere along the line the Democratic Party became the Party of Death.

There is a new book called The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life, by Ramesh Ponnuru. He begins his book with these words:

"The party of death started with abortion, but its sickle has gone from threatening the unborn, to the elderly, to the disabled; it has swept from the maternity ward to the cloning laboratory to a generalized disregard for 'inconvenient' human life."

That statement says a lot. Most of the Democratic Party leadership are also members of the party of death. Many in leadership roles in the Democratic Party hold the unrestricted and unlimited abortion-on-demand position. The abortion chamber exterminators “Preventing” Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and their protectors and supports the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) hold much sway over the liberal left in America. They are powerful, prominent and prosperous members of the left. They expect the Democratic Party to be in full support of their pro-abortion, pro-death agenda.

To many rank and file members of the party, who are loyal to the Democratic Party but may either be willfully or unwittingly disloyal to American values and the original principles and purposes of America and the Democratic Party. Like lemmings they blindly follow their leaders who want to march them and all of America to the brink of her destruction.

Radical liberalism has infected and invaded the Democratic Party and has made it sick. It is dying. What is needed is a deep revival of morality and embrace of the Judeo-Christian values and the principles that made this country great. What is the remedy or cure what plagues the Democratic Party? A strong, potent dose of conservatism and an injection of these Judeo-Christian principles and values is the answer. Without it the Party will die.

This November 7th vote for the best, most principled, most conservative candidate, who will help set our nation on the right course. It is time to end abortion on demand. It is time to pass the Marriage Protection Amendment. It is time to reintroduce a personal responsibility mentality and end the entitlement mentality so evident when Democrats are in power.

Why Vote?

The following excerpt is attributed to League of Women Voters of Mississippi. I bolded the phrases to indicate some of the reasons why all registered American voters should vote.

The privilege of an American Citizen to vote is the right that defines our democracy. By exercising this fundamental right, we protect all the other rights of our constitution. The vote is an expression of equality; neither wealth nor fame or power can make one person’s vote count more than another person’s vote.

There are many . . . reasons . . . for not voting, yet every vote counts. Voting is the way to tell politicians and government officials what is important to us. . . .

The officials that we elect affect every aspect of our lives. Every voter has the opportunity to make personal decisions and influence the future. Although many election contests are won by comfortable margins, some have been so close that a single vote has made the difference between winning and losing. Some notable decisions resulting from a single vote include:

* In 1776, one vote gave America the English language instead of German
* In 1845, one vote brought Texas into the Union.
* In 1868, one vote saved Andrew Johnson’s presidency.
* In 1876, one vote gave Rutherford B. Hayes thepresidency of the United States of America
* In 1921, one vote in the Tennessee legislature ratified the nineteenth amendment to the Constitution and gave women the right to vote.
* In 1941, one vote saved selective service—just weeks before Pearl Harbor was attacked.

Votes matter. As illustrated about a single vote can make a big difference in an election. The following is a list of specific reason why every Value Voter should cast a ballot on November 7, 2006. If enough Values Voters turn out than we could have a great impact on electing more U.S. Senators, and U.S. Representative and other state and local officials who will”

1. Insure that only judges will be confirmed who interpret the law and not legislate from the bench. This applies to state and local judges. Know where the judges, for whom you directly elect, stand on vital issues of morality.

2. Insure that the sanctity of life is recognized and persevered. Steps should be taken to abolish all abortion, Embryonic Stem Cell Research, cloning and euthanasia.

3. To protect and promote traditional one-man, one-woman marriage and family exclusivity. To eliminate the marriage tax penalty as long as we have the Federal Income Tax laws in effect.

4. To strengthen our national defense and national security. Consider defunding and eliminating the United Nations.

5. Completely stop the illegal alien invasion and securing our border. Make English the official language of the nation, as well as a requirement for citizenship. Implement a plan systematically purge the Illegal Aliens already in the United States and heavily fine and imprison and/or close down any businesses that hire or harbor illegal aliens. Void the North American Union idea between the U.S., Mexico and Canada and any trade or relationships that jeopardizes American sovereignty.

6. To de-emphasize the public education system controlled at present by the elite and their secular humanist philosophy To permit and encourage many other alternatives to public education. To close schools that are not meeting standards and give parents of those schools vouchers to go to the school or educational program of their choice. Curtail the monopolistic influence of teacher unions.

7. To encourage and expand faith-based initiatives to deal with our prisons, homeless, poor, etc.

8. To initiate a plan for the United States to eliminate the deficit and to work toward becoming debt-free. Institute ceilings for damage awards for malpractice and other business related liabilities to curtail frivolous lawsuits.

9. Eliminate the Federal Income Tax. Implement a consumption tax, which taxes items when they are purchased instead of taxation of income. This would encourage saving.

10. To initiate a plan and a policy to reverse the trade deficit and work toward deliberate creation of a trade surplus.

Examining America's Real Roots

I had an opportunity to hear David Barton, an author, American Historian and founder of www.WallBuilders.com , presented "Religion & Politics, The Myth of Separation of Church and State" this evening in Vandalia, Ohio. He presented a persuasive message on the very significant role that Christians and the Judeo-Christian bible played in the founding of our country.

Much is made of the fact that Thomas Jefferson was not an evangelical Christian, but a Deist. However, the vast majority of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were strong God-fearing bible-believing true Christians. In fact, 24 of the original signer held seminary degrees! Facts like these do not fit the secular humanist vision of America and are kept in the closet of our public schools, hidden from the students of America. Barton closed his presenation with the following quote referring to our civic duties, including our responsibility to elect moral and upright representatives.

Consider well the important trust . . . which God . . . [has] put into your hands. . . . To God and posterity you are accountable for [your rights and your rulers]. . . . Let not your children have reason to curse you for giving up those rights and prostrating those institutions which your fathers delivered to you. . . . [L]ook well to the characters and qualifications of those you elect and raise to office and places of trust. . . . Think not that your interests will be safe in the hands of the weak and ignorant; or faithfully managed by the impious, the dissolute and the immoral. Think not that men who acknowledge not the providence of God nor regard His laws will be uncorrupt in office, firm in defense of the righteous cause against the oppressor, or resolutly oppose the torrent of iniquity. . . . Watch over your liberties and privileges - civil and religious - with a careful eye. - Matthias Burnett, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Norwalk, An Election Sermon, Preached at Hartford, on the Day of the Anniversary Election, May 12, 1803.

David Barton is a very effective speaker. His presentation was captivating. He encouraged all Values Voters, regadless of party affilitation, to be sure to vote ion November 7, 2006 just as they did in 2004, when they made a real difference in the outcome of the election.

Phil Burress of the Ciizens for Community Action also encouraged all registered voters to vote as well as to study the candidates and the issues. One source he recommended was www.OhioElectionCentral.com, which is a voters gude comparing candidates answers on key issues. He also stated that Ohio did not need more vice and urged Values Voters to reject Issue 3.

Dealing With Debt

I like the Constitution Party of Ohio platform in the area of money and banking, which In part reads:

Money functions as both a medium of exchange and a symbol of a nation's morality.

The Founding Fathers established a system of "coin" money that was designed to prohibit the "improper and wicked" manipulation of the nation's medium of exchange while guaranteeing the power of the citizens' earnings.

The federal government has departed from the principle of "coin" money as defined by the U.S. Constitution and the Mint Act of 1792 and has granted unconstitutional control of the nation's monetary and banking system to the private Federal Reserve System.

. . . We support a debt free, interest free money system.

U.S. NATIONAL DEBT

What we have in America today is a tremendous deficit. We spend more that we are taking into our treasury. We are printing paper money we do not have. We are IOU-ing our future. We have a great trade deficit; we are bringing in more goods than we are selling. The following give us a glimpse of the staggering debt that we have amassed as a nation. Source.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of$1.60 billion per day since September 30, 2005!,Concerned? Then tell Congress and the White House!

We must elect conservative politicians who will get a reign on our rising deficit and trade imbalance. We need to stop borrowing from social security. We must make tough political decisions to cut funding and to look to faith-based initiates to once again pick up their God-given responsiblity to serve the poor and to minister to the whole person, body, mind and spirit.

INDIVIDUAL DEBT

Like our government, we Americans spend more than we make. Many of us are in debt. Jackson Lears wrote in The New York Times, in an article entitled, "The American Way of Debt" concluded it saying, "Whatever else our current indebtedness may signify, it is hardly a riot of hedonism". I disagree. We live beyond our means. We live too much for our own pleasure. We live only for today. We do not save, then we are crippled by a major medical catastrophe or loss of a job or some other set back.

We need to follow the biblical injunction, and basic Judeo-Christian principle "Owe no man anything." This applies to both our nation as well as to individual Americans. It is about time that we [I] reintroduce ourselves [myself)]to sacrifice, savings and delayed satisfaction. Our objective as a nation and as individuals is to set our country and ourselves on a course to be debt -free. It can be done, it takes sacrifice and discipline and having right priorities. Let's make A Good Choice and get out of debt and expect our elected representatives to do the same with our taxpayer funded government funds.

Why is Right Always Right?

In a comment to my AGC article yesterday, "Politics" asks the following question:

“Why is it that people on the Right always think that whatever they believe is always the truth and always the correct view(?)”

Well, “Politics”, I cannot speak for all “people on the Right”, but as for me, Christian conservative principles (I guess that is what you mean by right) and values are the key to America’s success story. This is why the “Right” is right. To the extent that we believe in and we act on what is right and on what is true, that is the extent we are correct.

I believe that the great majority of our Founding Fathers were professing, bible-believing, true practicing Christians. The Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the very structure of our government and its three branches, were based on Judeo-Christian principles and precepts. Our Fathers acknowledged God from the very beginning and He, in turn, blessed us as a nation more than any other nation that ever existed. Our natural resources, our people, a melting pot of immigrants from nearly every nation on earth, the unlimited opportunities, the rewards for ingenuity, creativity and hard work and effort, the American Christian missionary movement and our works of compassion throughout the world is unsurpassed. Overall we have been a force for good in the world. It is primarily because of this moral and Christian foundation.

There are those today in America who do not believe in morality. They do not believe in the existence of God. They do not believe that good and evil exist. Everything, they say, is relative. I say that there is right and wrong. There is good and there is evil. There are moral absolutes. God is the sole and ultimate judge. God has set the standard. God’s has benchmarked what is proper behavior, which is outlined in the Judeo-Christian Bible.

The bottom line is that man is totally depraved and apart from God. In other words, man is a sinner, a wretch. Man, in his own flesh and by his own desire, cannot attain God’s standards. However, God in His infinite mercy gave a way to meet God’s high standards and to connect to Him; He provided His own Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said about Himself, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to (God the Father) except through Me. It is through a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ that we can have the ability to behave properly toward God and toward man. Read more.

Today the Right believes more in the Truth than does the Left. Much of the Left elevates man to a level that they treat him as god, except, of course, if they are not yet born, then they are expendable, or exterminable. Furthermore, the godless Left explains away Creation by the false theory of evolution. Many on the Right, though not all, believe in the existence and acknowledge God as Creator and as their personal CEO. Christianity, unlike socialism, Marxism or so many other “isms” and unlike even the “Christian” religion itself, is an individual personal relationship with the one true God. This personal, intimate relationship with God through the person of Jesus Christ is the essence of Christianity. It is out of this relationship, our love for God, then that we can and do love others. The whole motive for service to others is out of an understanding and loving relationship with the living God. We want to help the poor and less fortunate.

This is what makes Christianity so unique. It is what made, I believe, America so unique for so many years. But Amercia has been faltering badly of late. It is because as a nation we have permitted the atrocities such as abortion and the acceptance of unnatural, abnormal, abhorrent behavior such as homosexuality that we have stumbled and lost our way. There is a whole political party, or at least its entire leadership, has these boasts these two immoral pillars of their party’s platform. The other party has too often rejected their conservative roots, and has thereby succumbed to the influence of greedy global multinational and major domestic industries and businesses to the determent of our nation and its peoples.

What America needs, meaning each of us, individual Americans, needs is to wake up and to strengthen the things that remain and then to revive and to restore our Foundation, Christian Conservative values. What is also needed is the election of principled and godly politicians, who will not only be right, but who will do right.
