Paul Broun for Congress?

The Candidate

Whenever the neocons at Red State sends me an Action Alert (or whatever they call it) and I see their logo at the top of the email with the name “Red State” in red with gray letters, I can’t help but think of Communism--not just because of the name, but also because they are ardent supporters of George W. Bush, John McCain and of all those other socialist, NWO traitors in the Republican Party. So I was somewhat surprised to find that one of the candidates they urged me to support is also on Ron Paul’s official list of endorsements for Congress. In this “alert” they said that Broun would legalize drugs, but also warned about how Broun’s other two opponents in the Republican primary would be worse because they were so liberal and self-seeking. They said Broun was “like Ron Paul without the crazy”. So what is the “without the crazy”?

Speaking of our troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, Broun says, “…I support them and their mission.” (He doesn’t say what that mission is and I’m still waiting for these neocons to give me a satisfactory definition and exit strategy of the mission in Iraq.) He is against an “arbitrary timetable for withdrawal”.

Broun does favor getting rid of the IRS, but unlike Ron Paul, he would replace it with a Fair Tax. Ron Paul is wise in saying that income taxes are the worst way to tax Americans, but this Fair Tax also has obvious drawbacks. The Fair Tax is basically a 23% national sales tax. This would give people strong incentives to barter rather than buying. Corporations would also take this tack and would be more successful at it. Therefore, more of the tax burden would be shifted to hardworking families. The Fair Tax would also give people and corporations incentives to make purchases under the table to avoid paying such a high tax. This would be hard to enforce against without imposing a police state. It would also give the feds more incentives to crackdown on honest people like children running a lemonade stand or your neighbor having a yard sale. Evidence of this can be seen in states which have high cigarette taxes and have to deal with people selling illegal untaxed cigarettes. There just isn’t any substitute for less spending, and the $1+ trillion dollar war in Iraq is a big part of the problem.

However, there are plenty of good things to say about Paul Broun.

He introduced legislation in the Congress to define life as beginning at fertilization. Ron Paul cosponsored this bill.

He would impose heavy fines on corporations which employ illegal aliens, make English the official language of the United States, strengthen border security, and end birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants.

Paul Broun recognizes that the United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, such as the Ten Commandments. He also recognizes that Congress has the constitutional authority to overrule the federal judiciary (Article III section 2).

He supports the right to bear arms.

The Opposition

His opponent, liberal Bobby Saxon, believes that abortion should be legal within the first trimester and when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape. He supports federal funding the use of new embryonic stem cell lines in research.

Bobby Saxon supports McCain-Feingold-like, free speech limiting campaign financing legislation, which has already passed but the portion which restricted ads containing candidates' names was struck down by the Supreme Court.

He supports hate crime legislation and would include sexual orientation in federal anti-discrimination laws.

Saxon compromises on the war Iraq, saying “We should begin a responsible reduction of troops in the quickest, safest way possible. We cannot advertise withdrawal dates, but we must bring our soldiers home as swiftly as the conditions allow. We should maintain a small force to provide security to the Iraqi government, train the Iraqi Army & Police force, and to provide logistical support to the Iraqi military. We must demand that the Iraqi Government show steady and sustainable success in return for our protection and our support.” He doesn’t say what “steady and sustainable success” is, nor does he say exactly what he would do if they don’t show it. He answered yes to the question, “Do you support pre-emptive military strikes against countries deemed to be a threat to United States national security?” No real peace candidate here either.

The Conclusion

Being against the war in Iraq, who would I vote for, then? I am not going to vote for someone just because Ron Paul endorses him, and certainly not just because he is a Republican. But I don’t have to decide that, because I don’t live in Georgia's Tenth Congressional District. Since there are a lot of other congressional candidates who are in closer agreement with my views, I will financially support them over Broun. I leave it up to you to decide for yourself if this is a candidate that you think is worth supporting.

Where was Obama Born?

At Rick Warren's Saddleback Civil Forum on Saturday Barack Hussein Obama could not answer the simple question as to when life begins. He did a good job shirking that question. I wonder could he tell America where he was born? There seems to be some conflict regarding his apparently doctored birth certificate, which appears on one of his websites . . .

A McCain-Palin Ticket?

Interestingly, last night Drew Zahn in his article on WorldNetDaily.com asked, "Could this sign become familiar soon?" See my article, "The ‘08 Veep Choices, Tale of Two Women," which I posted yesterday.

Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK), a young, strong conservative, is everything Senator John Sidney McCain is not. She would be a wholesome addition to an otherwise terribly weak and flawed presidential candidates of the two major political parties. McCain is not only older, he is at best a moderate and more liberal than conservative. She would bring a fresh face to the presidential campaign. McCain-Palin would give Obama-Clinton a run for their socialist stamped money.

"Leroy's prayer request.

"Leroy goes to the revival and listens to the preacher. After awhile the preacher asks anyone with needs to be prayed over to come forward to the front at the altar. Leroy gets in line, and when it's his turn, the preacher asks: 'Leroy, what do you want me to pray about for you?' Leroy replies: 'Preacher, I need you to pray for my hearing.' The preacher puts one finger in Leroy's ear, and he places the other hand on top of Leroy's head and prays and prays and prays. After a few minutes, the preacher removes his hands, stands back andasks Leroy: 'Leroy, how is your hearing now?'

I just updated an earlier article regarding John Freshwater's hearing. Now the termination hearing is rescheduled for October 1, 2008 and not next Tuesday, August 26, 2008.

It is a shame that the man has been suspended without pay and is not able to begin the new school year teaching. The only ones hurt by this are the Freshwater family, the Mount Vernon community, and the children who miss out on this excellent, caring teacher. Thank you Superintendent Steve Short [ AND the Mount Vernon School Board ] for your very short sided vision and decision . . .

The ‘08 Veep Choices, Tale of Two Women

Here are my predictions as to who the two major partis will choose to complete their tickets. As I have consistently stated, I do not like either candidate and if the election were today the only thing I know is that I would not vote for either Obama or McCain.

Republican Party Ticket:

John Sidney McCain (R-AZ), President
Sarah Louise Palin (R-AK) (Pronounced PALE-in), Vice-President

Don’t know who Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is? See a video of her below. Palin is a better choice than Romney, Ridge or Lieberman. She is pro-life and apparently pro-traditional marriage. She is not as strong as I would like to see any candidate be regarding so-called homosexual “rights” and special advantages and privileges which that group constantly seeks. Palin is a conservative. Her selection would tend to energize social conservatives to some extent and would balance the GOP ticket, since McCain is more moderate and liberal than anything else. So far McCain has has done nothing to ingratiate himself to social conservatives in this campaign.



Democratic Party Ticket:

Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL), President
Hillary Rodham-Clinton (D-NY), Vice President

Obama will be pressed to select the Clintons to be his co-Vice Presidents. When he does he will surely not last the full term, because one way or another the Clintons will assume the presidency. By selecting Clinton, Obama will confirm all suspicions that he cannot make tough decisions, nor stand against strong opposition. The Clintons may help Obama win the election, but then watch your back Barack!

The Truth About George W’s War

“No one likes war. War is a horrific affair, bloody and expensive. Sending our men and women into battle to perhaps die or be maimed is an unconscionable thought.

"Yet some wars need to be waged, and someone needs to lead. The citizenry and Congress are often ambivalent or largely opposed to any given war. It's up to our leader to convince them. That's why we call the leader 'Commander in Chief.' George W.'s war was no different. There was lots of
resistance to it. Many in Congress were vehemently against the idea. The Commander in Chief had to lobby for legislative approval.

“Along with supporters, George W. used the force of his convictions, the power of his title and every ounce of moral suasion he could muster to rally support. He had to assure Congress and the public that the war was morally justified, winnable and affordable. Congress eventually came around and voted overwhelmingly to wage war.

“George W. then lobbied foreign governments for support. But in the end, only one European nation helped us. The rest of the world sat on its hands and watched.

“After a few quick victories, things started to go bad. There were many dark days when all the news was discouraging. Casualties began to mount. It became obvious that our forces were too small. Congress began to drag its feet about funding the effort.

“Many who had voted to support the war just a few years earlier were beginning to speak against it and accuse the Commander in Chief of misleading them. Many critics began to call him incompetent, an idiot and even a liar. Journalists joined the negative chorus with a vengeance.

“As the war entered its fourth year, the public began to grow weary of the conflict and the casualties. George W.'s popularity plummeted. Yet through it all, he stood firm,supporting the troops and endorsing the struggle.

“Without his unwavering support, the war would have surely ended, then and there, in overwhelming and total defeat. At this darkest of times, he began to make some changes. More troops were added and trained. Some advisers were shuffled, and new generals installed.“Then, unexpectedly and gradually, things began to improve. Now it was the enemy that appeared to be growing weary of the lengthy conflict and losing support. Victories began to come, and hope returned.

“Many critics in Congress and the press said the improvements were just George W.'s good luck. The progress, they said, would be temporary. He knew, however, that in warfare good fortune counts.“Then, in the unlikeliest of circumstances and perhaps the most historic example of military luck, the enemy blundered and was resoundingly defeated. After six long years of war, the Commander in Chief basked in a most hard-fought victory.

“So on that historic day, Oct. 19, 1781, in a place called Yorktown , a satisfied George Washington sat upon his beautiful white horse and accepted the surrender of Lord Cornwallis, effectively ending the Revolutionary War.

“What? Were you thinking of someone else?”

Righting 1st Amendment Wrongs

Thanks to a tip from an anonymous commenter (see comment below), I found out from a Mount Vernon News article today that the hearing scheduled for August 26 has been again rescheduled until October 1st. The paper reports, "The change was made due to a docket conflict with hearing referee R.B. Shepherd, Esquire. Shepherd, a Shelby, Ohio attorney will apparently be the judge and jury in this matter. This formal hearing will determine whether John Freshwater's teaching contract will be renewed or will be officially terminated.

The hearing will provide an opportunity for Mr. Freshwater to present his side of the case. He spoke on his own behalf at the August 4th regular board meeting along with over two dozen other persons who commented to the board at the start of the monthly board meeting. Below is a link to YouTube videos that covered that board meeting. It appears that the School Board and Superintendent wish to get rid of this very valuable asset to the school district and community for political and ideological reasons.

ON THE NATIONAL STAGE

Mr. Freshwater has recently received national exposure. Below is a August 14, 2008 commentary by Kerby Anderson of the Point of View Radio Show, who is also the President of Probe Ministries. This commentary gives a good summary of the situation.

Christian Teacher Suspended

For the last few weeks, I have been hearing about a teacher who was suspended without pay because he refused to remove his Bible from his desk. The story sounded too incredible, so I had to check it out for myself.

“John Freshwater is a science teacher in Ohio who received a Teacher of the Year award last year (2007). He had his Living Bible on his desk for 21 years, but it was not in a prominent place. He told me that when he asked former students if they remember him having a Bible on his desk, many of them didn't remember that he did.

“ John Freshwater is an excellent teacher. In fact, his science class was the only eighth grade class at the school to pass the Ohio Achievement Test. He has been accused of branding a student during a voluntary Tesla coil demonstration, but there doesn't seem to be much merit in this accusation.

“When I interviewed him, he did mention that back in 2002-2003, he decided to follow some of the details in the "No Child Left Behind" legislation that allowed teachers to teach the controversy concerning evolution. He wonders if his willingness to talk about the problems with evolution is part of the reason for the actions against him.

“John Freshwater pointed out that other teachers have religious items on their desk. And he was willing to remove a Ten Commandments poster from his classroom, along with a box of Bibles that were stored in his office for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“ So, is he just a troublemaker? I don't think so. I also interviewed his pastor who was most supportive of him, his character, and his teaching. As far as I can tell, he is the kind of teacher we would want instructing our children. He doesn't deserve to be suspended, and he certainly doesn't deserve to be fired. The school board has passed a resolution to terminate his contract pending an August 26 hearing.

“ Let us hope and pray that he is reinstated and not fired. I'm Kerby Anderson, and that's my point of view."

The Freshwater story had more national exposure in newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, which ran an AP new story.

“At the August 4th Mt. Vernon School Board meeting fellow Science teacher Lori Miller informed the board that she, too, regularly performed the same experiment with her class involving a Tesla Coil, had a Bible on her desk, and Christian symbols in her room and she had never once been asked by any superior to cease and desist. In addition, Mrs. Miller said that even though she was on the "witness" list of the "investigation" conducted by an "independent" investigator, had worked along John Freshwater for years, no one ever interviewed her to find out if she might have evidence pertinent to the case.”

Shining God’s Light on the Koran re: Abraham's Work

Sam continues his on-going series which contrasts the Judeo-Christian Bible with the Islamic Koran on a variety of topics. He aims the beam of the Biblical laser on the Koran to expose, to reveal what it really says. See his previous articles here.

The Work of Abraham

Abraham was the only man ever told by God to sacrifice his son. Both the Koran and Scripture record this event in some way.

THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

He (Abraham) said: ‘I will take refuge with my Lord; He will give me guidance. Lord, grant me a righteous son.’ We gave him news of a gentle son. And when he reached the age when he could work with him, his father said to him: ‘My son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Tell me what you think.’ He replied: ‘Father, do as you are bidden. God willing, you shall find me steadfast.’ And when they had both submitted to God, and Abraham had laid down his son prostrate upon his face, We called out to him, saying: Abraham, you have fulfilled your vision.’ Thus do We reward the righteous. That was indeed a bitter test. We ransomed his son with a noble sacrifice and bestowed on him the praise of later generations. ‘Peace be on Abraham!’ Thus do We reward the righteous. He was one of Our believing servants. We gave him Isaac, a saintly prophet, and blessed them both. Among their offspring were some who did good works and others who clearly sinned against their souls (1).

COMMENTARY ON THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

Abraham prays to the god of Islam for a son which is righteous. The god of Islam and angels informed Abraham that he will have a son who is gentle. Abraham followed a dream where he dreamt he was sacrificing his son Isaac on an altar. This dream Abraham told to Isaac and they both agreed to go through with it. The god of Islam and angels provided a ransom for Isaac. The god of Islam provided Abraham with the praise of later generations.

THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me you have given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be your heir; but he that shall come forth out of your own bowels shall be your heir (2).

And it came to pass after these things, that God did test Abraham, and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for the burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of: and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not your hand upon the lad, neither do you any thing unto him: for now I know that you fearest God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from; me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day. In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.

And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time. And said, “By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because you have done this thing, and have not with held your son, your only son: That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice. So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba (3).

COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

Abram was wide awake when he had this vision of God and had a dialogue with Him. God promised a descendant and an heir proceeding from Abram himself.

God speaks to Abraham and tells him to sacrifice his only son Isaac in a place where God will show him on mount Moriah. Abraham obeys. Isaac does not know he is the one about to be sacrificed. Isaac asks his father, where is the sacrifice? Evidently this is not the first sacrifice for Isaac to attend. Abraham said, God will provide Himself a lamb …, In other words, God would be the lamb Himself. Abraham foresaw the day when the Son of God (Jesus Christ) would be the Lamb of God. Abraham knew that God had promised him that his descendants would come though Isaac. Even if Isaac were dead, God would have to raise him from the dead to fulfill his promise.

God tells Abraham that for not withholding his only son from God, He would bless him. Abraham’s descendants would be numerous, in control, and by his seed every nation would be blessed.

COMPARING & CONTRASTING THE KORAN WITH SCRIPTURE

In the Koran Abraham dreamt he was sacrificing his son Isaac. This is then referred to as a vision. In scripture Abraham had a vision when God told him he would have a descendant from his own flesh. Abraham was not dreaming when having a vision. When it was time to sacrifice Isaac God spoke to him while he was awake.

In the Koran Abraham prays for a righteous son and at some time god tells Abraham he will have a gentle son. In Scripture Abraham is promised to be the father of a multitude and is concerned that he is childless. He would father his heir.

In the Koran Abraham tells Isaac of his dream that he sacrifices Isaac. Isaac says, do it dad. In scripture Abraham tells only that he and Isaac are going to worship God. Isaac says, hey dad were is the sacrifice. Isaac was not told that he was the meat for the fire.

Abraham’s reward in the Koran is the praise of future generations: “Peace be on Abraham.” In Scripture Abraham is promised that his seed will bless all the nations of the world. His descendants would be many and would control the position of leadership of their enemies.

Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency

Saddleback Showdown: McCain Wins Non-Debate

Tonight a historic event occured. A major political forum was held in an evangelical church moderated by an evangelical pastor. It was a testimony to the illegitimacy of the notion of separation of Church and State. Rick Warren did an excellent job tonight in interviewing the two major political party presidential candidates.

[You could almost see the ACLU, the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, and People for the American Way sitting around their TVs enjoying their popcorn and peanuts and plotting how to sue Saddleback Church and Rick Warren for daring to expose America and the world to truth.]

I was not expecting the tough questions that were asked. I was skeptical that any hard questions would be asked. I was pleasantly surprised in the variety and the depth of the questioning. This format was much better and more informative than any debate format held so far this campaign. It was not a debate but very much more informative. Each candidate got the same questions in their hour-long opportunity. The three areas of question were: Leadership, Worldview and Foreign Policy – Americans Responsibility in the World.

Although I care very little for either Barack Hussein Obama or John Sidney McCain as candidates, the overwhelming “victor” in this forum was McCain. Obama seemed to evade or stumble as he ran from several of the questions – he beat around the bush, McCain jumped on the question and answered them straightforwardly and more succinctly.

MAJOR CONTRASTS

I think that the contrasts were very clear.

Abortion – Obama would not answer the question of when human life or human rights begin in a person. McCain waffled on embryonic stem cells but expressed somewhat of a pro-life stance.

Marriage – Obama said he supported one-man, one-woman marriage but was for civil unions. Elsewhere he made the statement that he opposed the California Proposition 8 which defined marriage as between one-man and one-woman. Obama was deceitful on this issue. McCain said he was for traditional marriage, but he stated that he would not be in favor of a constitutional amendment unless same-sex marriages where forced on his state of Arizona.

Education – Obama favors raising base salaries for all teachers and further rewarding excellence. McCain said that bad teachers should find jobs in other professions. McCain would favor merit pay for teachers as well as a variety of choices in schooling of children – namely vouchers, charter schools, etc.

Further, I was impressed with the discussion surrounding the definition of rich. Obama said he would not tax anyone making less than $150,000, but would tax the rich who made $250,000 or more. One the other hand, McCain said he would not raise taxes on anyone. Taxation serves as a disincentive to economic growth and stimulation. To Obama it is a way to pay for programs he feels are needed.

One more telling line of questioning was one of the first questions of the interviews, which was something to the affect of ‘what persons do you admire most.’ Obama said is wife, Michelle. While McCain named General David Petraeus, for what he did in turning around the War in Iraq.

POST FORUM PRESS CONFERENCE

I listened in on the press conference following the 2 hour program. The four evangelical leaders agreed that McCain came across as the winner. However, some were concerned whether he might retreat from his strong conservative statements as he has done in the past. If he does it will hurt him more then help him in the long run. It was also pointed out that whoever McCain selects as his running mate will also affect the long-run benefit of his strong showing this evening.

SUMMARY

McCain was indeed the clear winner tonight. He showed his ability to think on his feet, he demonstrated more maturity, wisdom and experience in his answers, than did Obama. On the issues most important to me: abortion, protection of traditional marriage, national security including domestic energy development, and the selection and nomination of judges, McCain was right, while Obama was hopelessly wrong. Clearly voters have a choice. I just hope that voters see through the smokescreen that Obama throws up to hide his true beliefs especially about marriage and see what Obama really stands for – advancing a Marxist anti-American agenda.

He promised a Planned Parenthood audience that the first thing he said he would do is to do all in his power to pass the destructive heinous so called Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), which would essentially invalidate all limits on abortion. Michael Delavar for Congress

Michael Delavar, candidate for Congress in Washington’s 3rd district, says this about terrorism:

I will support the appropriate, overwhelming and vicious response to any terrorist attack against the United States. I support hunting down Osama bin Laden and eliminating him. However, I will not support occupation for the sake of nation-building. No amount of tit-for-tat retribution will end the war on terror unless we first take their motivation away. Luckily, the Founding Fathers gave us a tool to do just that. The Constitution specifically authorizes Congress to declare war on specific individuals and organizations that act as non-state aggressors. The manner in which Congress may do this is to “issue letters of marque and reprisal.” These letters authorize military pursuit and attack of terrorist organizations that are themselves not nation-states. The beauty of this method is that it does not involve America in nation-building or being the policemen of the world. Instead, we are allowed to focus on the transnational threat of our terrorist enemies. Thomas Jefferson was the last president to use this tool against the terrorist equivalent of the Barbary Pirates.
American forces are already in Iraq and Afghanistan. Regardless of whether it was wise to invade and occupy, our troops are currently serving valiantly under harsh conditions. If we are going to succeed in the war on terror, the mission must change from occupation to reducing the incentive for jihadists. America's national security interests do not lie in refereeing a centuries old rivalry between Sunni and Shia, but in diffusing their anger toward us. Our very presence on holy Muslim soil fuels the fire of jihad against the United States and unites our enemies against us. We can and should pursue terrorists with the intent of retribution, but should not occupy Muslim lands. Furthermore, if we pay attention to the declaration of war against us by al-Qaeda, we will notice that they fight us because of our continued support for regimes that oppress Muslims. We must stop giving taxpayer money in the form of aid and support to oppressive regimes. The responsibility of the United States Federal government is to protect and defend its own citizens and its own borders. If it fails to do so, our country will soon be brought to its knees economically through proxy wars that we cannot afford.

On taxes and the economy, Delavar says:

vote only for balanced budgets,
oppose any unconstitutional spending bills,
introduce only constitutional legislation,
speak out against the irresponsible fiscal and monetary policies that sacrifice the economic well being of our children and grandchildren.

On illegal immigration Delavar says:

To solve the problem of illegal immigration, we must:

secure our borders,
deny amnesty to illegal aliens,
stop welfare benefits for illegal aliens,
enforce existing visa rules, and
end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens.

Michael supports H.R. 1094 (Sanctity of Life Act of 2007), which defines life as beginning at conception and the H. R. 300 (We the People Act).

He is against the No Child Left Behind program and pledges to support legislation that would return control of the schools to local communities.

He believes that it would be wrong to cut Social Security payments to those who have already paid into the system, but supports giving people the option of opting out of Social Security.

He supports the right to bear arms for citizens’ protection.

On healthcare, he supports HR 3075, HR 3342, and HR 2717. These bills, he says, would provide tax credits for health insurance premiums and “negative outcomes insurance”, and stop the federal government’s influence on our healthcare choices.

Delavar’s main opponent, the incumbent Brian Baird, is pro-abortion rights and voted yes on ENDA and hate crimes legislation. He voted against the use of force in Iraq and says the war was a mistake, but has voted for recent appropriations bills to continue funding the war and says that it would be a mistake to leave now.

Global Warning about 'Global Warming'

The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch runs a regular feature in its newspaper identifying an important issue to the local community and asking the vote of the readers on that issue along with comments. Occasionally I will respond and comment on the issue raised, as I did to yesterday’s topic.

The Hot Issue: Do you think global warming eventually will produce deadly allergens?

My Response: No, but I do believe the opposite. I think that the allergens (which is a substance that causes an allergic reaction. Common allergens being pollens, dust, drugs, food, radical environmentalists, and global warming alarmists) have generated the fictitious man-caused global warming ‘crisis.

A Queer Choice?

When you vote for Barack Hussein Obama I hope you know who and what you are voting for. You are voting for a man, but you are voting for a set of policies and principles. So far it is not all that clear to many what the charismatic, charming, pied piper stands for besides his handsome good looks and cigarette smoking generated deep mellow voice. Here is one issue where he recently reveals his heart, his true beliefs on at least one issue. After reading his quote to his same-sex constituents in his letter below, can there be any doubts where he stands on this one issue?

HYPING HOMOSEXUALITY

Is there any doubt which side Obama stands when it comes to One-Man, One-Woman Marriage versus the redefined, revisionist definition of marriage and family to include any other relationship other than a monogamous one-man, one-woman relationship? “Civil unions,” same-sex “marriage” or any other terminology you use designates a counterfeit, false “marriage.” There is only one kind of marriage and that in no way includes any perversion of the one-man, one-woman covenant relationship.

Clearly Obama chooses to stand on the side of same-sex advocates. He rejects the absolute Judeo-Christian mandate of one-man, one-woman marriage and it as a standard for the ideal family unit. All other families are less than optimal and actually should be discouraged instead of embraced and fostered. Sure the single-mother household is a reality today. However, it is due to some failure on the part of one or both parties in receiving training and encouragement from society and its institutions to raise up the standard of the virtue and value of the marriage relationship. Our secular schools, wrong-minded public policy, many government agencies which administer welfare programs which deliberately or unwittingly work against the natural family and true marriage.

“Marriage” and “family” have definitive meanings. Radical same-sex advocate and others want to redefine those terms. Actually like “tolerance,” “gay,” “diversity,” and “choice” they want to pervert and de destroy the original meanings of those good words.

I contend that marriage is exclusive to one male of legal age and mutual consent and one female of legal age and mutual consent. This is the Biblical position. It is the true Christian position.

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) defines marriage as being between one man and one woman – and forbids states from being forced to accept any other definition of marriage under the U.S. Constitution’s Full Faith and Credit Clause. Senator Obama opposes this law and he said he will do all in his power to overturn it. I recently saw an article regarding that doing away with DOMA will also be included in the official Democratic Party platform to be adopted at their National Convention later this month in Denver.

A CLEAR CHOICE!

A vote for Obama is a vote for approving the homosexuals’ comprehensive and perverse agenda which includes:

> further destruction of the sacred marriage institution, marriage

> further destruction of the basic unit of society, the family

> further corruption of our government schools through wholesale and widespread indoctrination of the homosexual lifestyle and other perversions as acceptable alternative life-styles

> increasing the adoption of innocent, impressionable children by same-sex “couples,” which will ruin their lives and their understanding of the role of the male and the female in life and society today. Any living arrangement apart from a home with a married mother and father is less than optimal. I further would state that same sex living arrangements is even destructive for children.

> increasing the likelihood of hate crimes legislation passing, which will have the effect of censoring Biblical mandates, the Church and Christianity in speaking the full truth about the nature and danger of homosexuality and other forms of sexual immorality.

> increasing the chances of passing so-called employment non-discrimination (ENDA) legislation, which will have the effect of. Churches and businesses creating a special class and privileges for employees based solely on their immoral sexual behavior having to accommodate the persons who practice various deviant behaviors. Alleged “transgendered” persons will demand that employers accommodate them in using the opposite sex’s bathrooms, etc.

Clearly this November I plead to every true, born-again Christian, who is registered to vote, not to vote for Obama because in doing so we would be violating clear Biblical teaching and would be supporting the adoption and promulgation of the culture and society destroying homosexual agenda. Think twice, Christian brother and sister and stop and look beyond the hype and be wary of the words of mass deception coming out of the mouth of this anti-Christ . . .

Ohio's Community Defense Act Upheld in Federal Court

Here is a press release issued today by Citizens for Community Values (CCV) about a recent court ruling that uphold a law promoting decency and morality in Ohio –the Community Defense Act - instead of overturning it. Curtail Sexually Oriented Businesses

(CINCINNATI, OHIO) – “In a victory for families, the U.S. District Court in Cleveland ruled late Friday that a recent law passed by the Ohio General Assembly, known as the Community Defense Act, that regulates sexually oriented businesses is constitutional and can be enforced.

“Last year, the voters of Ohio brought the bill to the Legislature through an initiative petition, arguing that such ordinances are crucial for the prevention of crime and blight in communities.

“"Residents have the right to be protected from the harmful effects of sexually oriented businesses in their neighborhood," said CCV President Phil Burress. "The presence of unregulated peep booths, porn shops, and strip joints presents a host of problems to the community, most from the increase in crime, in addition to causing urban decay. The courts have recognized this once again."

“When 75% of the members of the Ohio General Assembly voted in favor of enacting the reasonable regulations on the hours of operation and prohibiting physical contact between patrons and dancers that leads to prostitution, operators of sexually oriented businesses challenged the law in court.

“The law also provides significant local control by allowing municipalities and townships to extend local regulations beyond the minimum state industry standards established in the law with the assistance of the Attorney General's office. In the event of further litigation by a sexually oriented business, local communities have the defense and indemnification of the State.

”In October 2007, a federal judge first rejected a request for a temporary restraining order, declaring the law constitutional, and allowing it to immediately go into effect. Attorneys for the State and a number of the 68 local city law directors and county prosecutors who were sued in the case argued in the preliminary injunction trial that the law was not only constitutional but necessary to fight the harmful secondary effects of sexually oriented businesses.

“Federal Judge Solomon Oliver, Jr. ruled Friday that the State provided more than enough evidence, including legislative findings, police reports, private investigators, and former dancers, to show the negative effects of sexually oriented businesses on the community, stating:

"The court finds that the evidence provided by Defendants demonstrates that the Ohio General Assembly, after extensive hearings and consideration of Plaintiffs’ arguments, enacted [the Community Defense Act] to minimize the adverse effects of sexually oriented businesses in Ohio and benefit its citizens."

”Burress says all of the evidence presented to this judge echoed what studies and other courts have confirmed for decades. "This decision will help ensure that communities maintain their ability to protect families and their neighborhoods from these threats," Burress said.

“Citizens for Community Values is the pro-family public policy organization that spearheaded the petition drive which brought the voter-initiated petition to the Ohio Legislators. They have offices in Cincinnati and Columbus.”

This is indeed good news. It is one plug in the dyke of an on slot of destructive waters beating against the wall of American values, virtues, good, decency and morality. We need to stem the tide of culture degradation that has been promulgated upon American these last 50 or so years. I commend the fine work that CCV did with this new law and all that it continues to do in stem the destructive tide unleashed by the radical left, activist judges, and other domestic terrorists . . .
