“Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.”
Do these words sound familiar? Just a few short months ago Hamas was voted into leadership in Palestine. Did one of Hamas’ leaders say that about Israel? Or does it sound like something said by some Imam in Iran, Syria, or the Saudi Arabia, or some other representative of Islam somewhere in today’s news?
The above quote actually comes from Psalm 83 in the Bible, written by Asaph. He adds, “They have consulted together with one consent, they are confederate against Thee.” “Thee,” here is God, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. The “they” refers to the people who lived around Israel in the Middle East including Edomites, Ishmaelites, Moabites, Ammonites and the Philistines.
The writer continues, “Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Thy name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and troubled forever; yea let them be put to shame, and perish: that men may know that Thou, whose name alone is Jehovah art the Most High over all the earth.” Those who seek the destruction of Israel are really the enemies of God.
As America helps Israel, we side with God. However “land for peace” is not a good idea for America to support. God says through His prophet Zechariah that those nations, who divide God’s land among the heathen, will be destroyed.
Strongly supporting Israel is always A Good Choice.
There are now only 14 more days until Ohio Voters can make A Good Choice on Tuesday, May 2nd in the Democratic Primary Election!

I wonder what would Jesus say? I hear this and it really makes me think. I was raised with God, an open mind and a belief that all people should be treated as you would want be done unto to you. I have held this truth to be my core and I have treated my brethren as such. I wonder now with all the finger pointing and blaming and accusing, and fear, and lies and ignorance, and preaching, who actually wants this to be done unto them?
ReplyDeleteWith that truth I also hold with it the deep national pride of being a daughter of the revolution. I have in my heart my own family history of my mothers and fathers fighting for freedom. A freedom from religious persecution, social class distinction, taxes, land ownership and pride. With a pride based on the constitution written by faithful people with the understanding of how dangerous it is to allow religious beliefs to influence politics and law.
The basis of this blessed country exists on the foundation of separation of church and state for a good reason. We all rejoice in laws that suit our own good morally but when laws are based on religious doctrine we jeopardize the freedoms of religion. Understand the fundamental core of this and you will see the brilliance of our founding fathers. The freedom of religion allows us as people to practice our beliefs without persecution and with that freedom we have to accept those that believe something else.
We have to stand strong as a nation of enlightened people in order to shine across the world. In order to shine we must agree to disagree and continue to love as God and Jesus would.
