Righting the G.O.P., Part 2

I recently received a letter from the Republican Party warning of the necessity of stopping the Democrat’s ultra liberal agenda. What about the Republican agenda, I ask myself? It is nearly as bad. Actually, I am furious with the GOP. The reasons for my serious displeasure are outlined below. See my initial article . . .

Why is it that a U.S. citizen needs a passport to go into Canada and Mexico and to come back again to the United States, yet the President won’t stop illegal aliens from entering the United States? He even puts border guards in jail for trying to protect the country from drug smugglers. Why is it that drug smugglers are provided immunity to testify against border guards? It almost appears that President Bush is being paid off by the Mexican drug lords.

I know now President Bush is not a true conservative. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) wrote the “No Child Left Behind” Education Bill and left out a provision for vouchers. In 2000, 2002, 2004 we kept electing Republicans. Still we saw the Democrat agenda being advanced. I was appalled when President Bush chose not to support the conservative candidate Rep. Pat Toomey in the 2004 Republican Primary election race for U.S. Senator in Pennsylvania. Instead President Bush supported the leftist leaning darling, Arlen Specter, who has before and since only been a thorn in the side of Bush and conservative causes. President Bush, Karl Rove and GOP leadership, a principled conservative would not do these things.

President Bush claims to be a Christian. Is he really? As the Commander-in-Chief he allowed evangelism at the Air Force Academy to be stopped when some atheists complained. Chaplains in the military are no longer permitted to pray in the name of Jesus. A General in Afghanistan said we are fighting Satan. But President Bush said that this is not the administrations position and said that the General was not speaking for his administration. The Apostle Paul, in the New Testament, made the statement that we are fighting against principalities and powers of evil in high places. We are, in fact, fighting Satan. Doesn’t President Bush realize this? The President is not fostering freedom of religion.

Historically acceptance of homosexuality by a society is the beginning of the end of that society. God has said that the land will cast out that society from off the land. Evil conduct, of which is homosexuality is a part is a reproach to any people. The GOP’s umbrella should not reach out so far as to embrace this immoral, depraved lifestyle. It is a clear violation of the Christian and conservative principles, which includes morality and decency. God made marriage and the family unit exclusively between one-man and one-woman. General Pace was correct when he recently said homosexuality was immoral in an interview by a Chicago newspaper. It is a tragedy that the Bush Administration did not confirm that this was their current thinking as well.

Or is Harry Reid just daft? Maybe he is all of the above.

Pelosi goes to see President Bashar al-Assad of terrorist sponsoring and supporting Syria, which is giving aid and comfort to the very enemies of America fighting in Iraq. She contemplates going to see Iranian neo-Hitler President to just "chat"? However, she refuses to talk to the President of the United States of America, the Commander-in-chief? She acts like she is an Ambassador and the Secretary of State. More like the Queen of Donkeys if you ask me. Is she trying to establish a shadow government? I question her loyalty to America.

This week on Sunday, April 19th, Sen. Reid made the statement “This war (in Iraq) is lost, and that the surge is not accomplishing anything, as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday.” Can you believe making such a statement right in the middle of the war? He not only does withhold support for the military's revised strategy for the war, but he belittles it. By doing so, he demoralizes the troops. He emboldens the enemy. Our enemies and their supporters are quoting him like crazy. He is their hero.

Does he and Pelosi not want America to win the war? Are they only afraid that if we do win the war and President Bush is somehow vindicated that Senator Reid and his cowardly comrades-in-harm would lose power? What would be worse, losing a few seats in Congress, or losing this war to the Islamic-terrorists and the repressive regimes that back them, Iran, Syria and China? I know by your treasonous statements Senator Harry where you stand. Wake up Senator Reid and get a grip on yourself and on reality.

Shame on you, Senator Reid, and shame on you Reprehensive Nancy “I am the most powerful woman in the world” Pelosi. You both encapsulate the very worst elements of politics. You both are as much enemies of America as Osama Bin Laden or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. You and your comrades-in-harm, the Democrat Party leadership, conspire by your words and actions that you want the Islamic terrorists to win the war on terror in Iraq. I call upon both to resign. You are both traitors. You both have committed treason. You both are unfit to hold office any longer. I call on the Department of Justice to bring charges against you. Failing to resign, or failing to be prosecuted for treason against this country, you both must go the next time you are face election!

Culture Killers

The two major culture impacting news items this week were: (1) the Supreme Court's upholding of the law banning the partial birth abortion procedure and (2) the Virginia Tech massacre.

In 2003 those contentious comrades, the liberal left, immediately tied up in the courts the law banning partial birth abortions when it was passed by both the United States House of Representatives and the Senate and signed by the President. The law codified the will of the majority of Americans. Most Americans think that this heinous procedure is way over the line. Obviously, the profane left thought (and still think) otherwise and tied up the law in court. The ungodly left apparently cares for nothing except to advance its corrupt agenda at any and all costs. Only this week the United States Supreme Court dared to reject, for once, the liberal’s wicked agenda and upheld this law.

On an internet forum last night I wrote, “. . . . . . Upholding the law banning this horrid procedure (partial birth abortion) was but a small step forward in the culture-of-life versus the culture-of-death battle being waged in America. The VT massacre and (this) frenzied advocacy of partial birth abortion (as well as all abortion, embryonic stem cell research, cloning and euthanasia) are emblematic of a society infiltrated and infected by godless secular humanism (which is the core philosophy of the liberal left).”

My statement irked a reader on the forum.

The reader scolded me calling the Supreme Court’s decision “awful and wrong” contending that “there is ample medical evidence that there actually ARE times when the health of the mother makes this (partial birth abortion) procedure necessary.” No, this is plain ridiculous and a outright lie. The cases where a mother’s health is in jeopardy ARE rare, very, very rare in this day and age of advancement in technology and medicine. This health exception is primarily used as a lame loophole used to justify all abortion at any time for any reason.

The forum reader also said that it was “outrageous and insulting” for me “to twist” the bloody massacre at Virginia Tech with a “valid medical procedure.”

Who is being insulted? The conscience and morals of this nation are insulted by the partial birth abortion procedure! Is the partial birth abortion procedure a VALID medical procedure - to kill a fellow human being who is about to be born by painfully and inhumanely cutting and suctioning his or her brains out of its skull? No, this is the worst example of the depravity of man. To me this on-going baby slaughter is worse than the VT massacre. A massacre, an execution, is committed every time an abortionist kills any pre-born baby. In fact, we have allowed nearly 50 million babies to be massacred in the United States since Roe v. Wade in 1973.

The American holocaust is a much greater affront to the values and principles upon which America was established than even the inhumane horrible massacre on the VT campus this week. This acceptance of abortion and occurrences such as the VT massacres have a common origin or cause, the pernicious influence of secular humanism on this society. Indeed, it is the root cause of the rot that exists in America today.

More on the Massacre

I agree with the article Greg wrote on Tuesday about the Virginia Tech massacre. I would add these things:

I was once rejected by someone who I had been in love with. I took it hard and was very angry. I turned away from God for a long time because of it. My advice to anyone in this situation is to trust in God, reject the practices of the World, and look into the Bible for answers.

Secondly, I have been hearing that there are laws which limit professors and school administrators from contacting parents about college students about their behavior. This is all in the name of privacy. What a stupid law!

Thirdly, whenever something like this happens, people think that we need to have a new law that would prevent such a thing from happening. But people almost always look into themselves (their own wisdom, knowledge, and feelings) rather than looking to the Bible for the right answer. But rather than having a better lock down procedure or putting more restrictions on fire arms, we need to get rid of laws which are not of God. Here is an excellent article by Dr. Patrick Johnston about why gun control is unfair and does not work.

A Partial Victory

The Supreme Court in a narrow 5-4 decision today upheld the partial birth abortion ban. Yes! Thank You God! It is a victory. Surprisingly Justice Kennedy wrote the opinion for the majority. He is a moderate (read near-or-mostly-liberal) voice on the court, usually voting for the liberal or wrong side of any major culture impacting court decision. This is a baby-step in the right direction, pun intended, at least for a few nearly born babies who will now have the right to take their first breath and their first steps.

Upholding the partial birth abortion ban, where the practice of suctioning a baby’s brain out of his or her skull while he or she is in the process being born, is truly a no-brainer. You know we treat animals better than these victims of partial birth abortion, our fellow human beings. But this cruel and unusual punishment or procedure has been permitted to proceed for two years or so since it was first passed and signed by the President. Isn’t it enlightening that the all of the Republican candidates for President support the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the ban on partial birth abortion, while the party to the left all emphatically decry today’s ruling! Furthermore, it shows the great importance to elect a non-liberal President in ’08 and the critical importance of the Alito and the Roberts appointments to the Supreme Court.

The profane left, driven by the likes of the greedy inhuman Planned Parenthood Federation of America, nasty National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) and the National Organization of Woman (NOW) brood among other pernicious pro-death organizations, each of which respect life about as much as an Ayatollah respects a Christian’s right to practice his or her religion in Iran. These same murderous mercenaries, who will with a straight face and with all the gall of Massachusetts, scream that the constitution has been violated. However, the reality is that every abortion is a violation of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, common sense and decency, and the very conscience of man. Yes, abortion contradicts and is an anathema to every value and principle that is truly American.

The radical left will use this “defeat” for assorted fundraising gimmickry, as an attempt to rally the most radical of its element and to intensify the pressure on already unprincipled politicians and jurists to do more to institutionalize this horrid right of any woman to “legally” do away with her offspring for convenience sake or any other bloody excuse that she may dream up.

I briefly heard Rush Limbaugh’s comments at noon today. He stated that the left will try to embarrass, harass, blame, belittle and otherwise put intense pressure on Justice Kennedy. The liberal leftist elite will fain fake outrage and horror at this relatively minor setback to their most ignoble cause. Both the main stream media and other leftist factions will join forces in a massive campaign to discredit and denigrate Justice Kennedy’s decision, so that on the next major culture of death case he will not stray this far from the liberal party line. In other words, Justice Kennedy is a marked man, a target.

Let us rejoice for a few minutes, for a few hours in savoring this victory, yet let us be ready to battle again tomorrow on the front line against all those working so diligently, so concertedly and so completely to destroy America.

In this article we share some of our thoughts about yesterday’s Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University massacre in Blacksburg, Virginia, the greatest massacre on a school campus in American history. The intention of the title of the article is to denote the growing evil that is spreading in America.

Virginia Tech is both a symptom of and the natural result of a Secular Humanistic mindset and philosophy devoid of morality and so rampant in America today. You take Jesus Christ out of America, the Lord Jesus Christ out of schools and this is what you get: the VPI Massacre, Columbine High School tragedy, etc. In Scripture God says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell,And all the nations that forget God.” (Psalm 9:17, NKJV) We see this happening in America today.

This is evidence that human beings are basically depraved at the core. The President of Virginia Tech said on at least two occasions during his address that man is basically good. This is an out and out liberal lie. Government and laws are necessary to restrain evil, which lurks in the heart of every man. The Secular Humanists LIE is that man has evolved from a lower animal and is gradually “evolving” into a better and better, a higher state of enlightenment. This is a LIE. Both man and America are stepping backward for every liberal agenda advancement made! Every step “forward” in carrying out the liberal agenda is actually a set back, a devolving or deluding of American values and principles on which this nation was founded.

AN AMERICA DEVOID AND DEVOLVING, THE REAL TRAGEDY

Isn’t it paradoxical that the liberals try to con us by referring to themselves as “progressives”, when all along they are really leading the way for America to regress to back to heathenism, paganism, hedonism, savagery and humanism? Not only do the liberal elite reject true biblical Christianity, they are viciously opposed to it and desire more than anything to eradicate it.

America is slipping away, thanks to the complacency and apathy of Christians and Conservative, values voters sitting on our hands. Let the Virginia Tech massacre be a wake up call to call us all to action to restore true Judeo-Christian values in all aspects of our society. May this be a warning to reject the liberal lies of diversity, tolerance and multiculturalism. No, America’s greatness is due to the fact that our forefathers fought to make us one nation under the Judeo-Christian God (and the Lord Jesus Christ) and not the myriad of false gods and religions that liter our nation’s landscape today and are enthroned even in our churches, citadels of “learning” and in the crappers, the production studios of Hollywood.

THE APPARENT PERPETRATOR OF THE TRAGEDY

At first the gunman was a mere nameless and then a faceless (literally, he shot himself in the face as he became the 33rd person to expire in this massacre.) From what we know so far, the perpetrator of this tragedy was a South Korean, a senior on the campus, here on a student visa. The dorm that was shot up was a coed dorm apparently where his ex-girlfriend lived. He, it seems, was looking for her. He was a jilted boyfriend. There is some conjecture that he had been influenced by Islam, he donned tattoos honoring some Islamic leader.

THE REAL PERPETRATORS OF THE TRAGEDY

We should expect more of this type of crime as America becomes more secular and influenced by false religions such as Islam, which apparently influenced this killer. He was likely also influenced by America-hating professors who denigrate the United States in their “teaching”.

The Judiciary should step forward and claim some of the credit for this tragedy as well. They ordered Jesus Christ, God and prayer out of schools under the guise of the lie of separation of church and state. They are taking the 10 commandments out of the schools, they are denying even the acknowledgement of Christmas and Easter. So what do you expect? Cho Seung-Hui, the South Korean mass murderer, was doing what apparently the judiciary wanted – not following the 10 commandments. Is the judiciary happy now? There is a purpose to codifying morality. There was a reason our forefathers acknowledged and honored God and based our laws on Biblical precepts.

In addition, although pretty much accepted as “norm” these days the uncommitted and casual sex that the coed dorms foster, a breeding ground, so to speak, for immorality and uncommitted sexual relationships so promoted by the free loving likes of Planned Parenthood and the liberal elite. The “if it feels good do it crowd” (maybe Mr. Cho Seung-Hui just felt good about killing so he did it?) where more of a contributing factor in this tragedy than were guns. Guns, we heard even before the dead students and professors bodies became cold, were the reason for this incident and there were cries for more gun control. Guns caused this incident? No, if anything the politically correct yet insane banning of all concealed weapons on campus a year ago, by the "enlightened" liberal elite leadership, was more of a cause than were guns.

No, the major cause for this needless, senseless waste of life was the acceptance and expectation of an amoral, immoral, a godlessness so incessantly promoted by the leftist liberal elite controlling and influencing much of academia today - that was a major cause of this senseless tragedy. The environment and culture being shaped by godless humanists spawned this more than anything else.

Absurdity of “Hate Crimes” Laws

To think one can know the true thoughts or intentions of another person comes from Asburdistan or maybe from the Pit of Preposterous. A criminal's thoughts and motives is what the supporters of "hate crimes" legislation (The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, or HR 1592) such as Representative John Conyers or Senator Ted Kennedy and others desire to regulate. The result would be that someone committing a crime against a homosexual person would be punished more severely than someone committing a similar crime to a young child or an elderly individual. This too is absurd.

Just as with our nation's immigration problem, Congress wants us to believe we need new laws. No, we only need enforcement of existing laws. Likewise we do not have to create a whole new special class of citizens with special protections, which "hate crimes" legislation would bring about. Righting the GOP, Part 1

A Republican (majority) Congress passed the bill authorizing the funding of embryonic stem cell research (ESCR). This is nothing more than cannibalism. The “Witch Doctor” Senator Bill Frist, was the one who pushed the bill. Thankfully, President Bush vetoed the bill. Recently the G.O.P. is trying to come up with a compromise on permitting ESCR on non-viable embryos. What does that mean? It means the killing of human being and it is wrong, period. ESCR has yielded nothing. Adult stem cell research has already yielded great benefits. It is a ploy of money-hungry academic researchers and blood-thirsty liberals and politicians who want to bring a culture of death to America and it part of their religion. It is just like the religions of old in which they used human infant sacrifice in idol worship.

Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN) is sponsoring the Law of the Sea Treaty, which gives the international waters to the United Nations. How smart is that? We would have to get U.N. permission to float our Navy.

Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) saw to it that the tax cut was sliced in half thereby limiting the tax cut’s usefulness.

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) had the campaign finance reform bill limiting the amount each candidate can receive from each individual-, but the Political Action Committee has no such limits on contributions. Is this fair? McCain’s bill also limits the free speech of the individual by not allowing criticism of incumbents 30 days before an election except for the press. Bush even signed it knowing provisions of the bill were unconstitutional.

The Fair Tax

Unlike yesterday’s subject, the “Fairness” Doctrine, which is not al all “fair” and especially not to conservatives, today’s topic, the FairTax, is fair to everyone.

This weekend, there are probably more than a few other Americans, like me, who are completing 1040s, state and local income tax forms. The annual ritual of either doing our own taxes or visiting our CPA or tax preparer is analogous to going to the dentist for a tooth extraction or for a Catholic, going to the priest for an annual confession. Tax preparation can be literally a grueling and taxing exercise.

The The RightMarch.com website describes America’s current Federal income tax system as “broken, complicated, easy to evade, and unfairly burdens the lower and middle classes. And, attempts to fix it have only made it worse.”

DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THE IRS AND ILLEGALS

With the looming deadline facing many it is a good time to pause and reflect on the bureaucratic nightmare that the current income tax system causes most legal Americans. I say legal because there are a growing number of illegal aliens who are working in the vast underground economy. This is because President Bush, his administration, our government bureaucracy and our spineless representatives, all refuse to enforce our immigration laws.

Illegals are taking wages under the table from lawbreaking employers thereby robbing the U.S. Treasury and Americans of “revenue” to provide necessary services. In fact, it is these very illegals who are increasingly demanding the “free” services– schools, healthcare and various forms of welfare - for which they often contribute next to nada. But the whole immigration matter is another story.
However, something has to be done with both our income tax system and as well as our immigration problem. One solution that would address both is the Fair Tax Plan. One group, the Americans For Fair Taxation (FairTax.org) is leading the effort to bring about this needed change, namely abolishing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

WHAT IS THE FairTax?

According to the Americans for Fair Taxation (FairTax.org) website “the FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll taxes with an integrated approach including

· a progressive national retail sales tax,
· a rebate to insure no American pays federal taxes up to the poverty level,
· dollar-for-dollar revenue neutrality, and
· the repeal of the 16th Amendment.

This nonpartisan legislation (HR 25, S 25) abolishes all federal

· personal (income tax),
· gift,
· estate,
· capital gains,
· alternative minimum,
· Social Security,
· Medicare,
· self-employment and
· corporate taxes

and replaces them all with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax – collected by existing state sales tax authorities. The FairTax taxes us on what we choose to spend, not on what we earn. It does not raise any more or less revenue; it is designed to be revenue neutral. So it is cost neutral – the final cost for goods an services changes little under the FairTax. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.”

Not only will the FairTax provide the advantages listed above it will also allow the government to collect from much of the underground economy, such as the Mafia, illegal aliens and other criminals.

HOW WOULD THE FairTax WORK?

According to the RightMarch.com website, “The FairTax would impose a 23% (tax-inclusive) sales tax on the purchase of new goods and services in the U.S. It would let workers keep their entire paycheck and retirees keep their entire pension; abolish the IRS and ends all audits of individual taxpayers; replace the federal income tax, freeing individuals from ever filing a tax return again; replace all payroll taxes including Social Security and Medicare taxes (current Social Security and Medicare benefits would not change); replace corporate and self-employment taxes; eliminate all hidden federal taxes; provide a universal rebate equal to the sales taxes paid on essential goods and services to ensure that no American pays taxes on necessities; replace all estate, gift, and capital gains taxes; dramatically lower tax rates for low- and middle-income Americans; close all tax loopholes; bring accountability to tax policy; and let American-made products compete fairly."

The Fairness (?) Doctrine

The whole Imus affair may embolden the liberal left’s pursuit again to push through Congress the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

In a CNSNews.com article, Fred Lucas writes, “Democrats in Congress want to bring back the Fairness Doctrine, a federal regulation that required broadcasters to present both sides of a controversial issue. The FCC enforced the rule from 1949 to 1987, when it was dropped during the Reagan administration.” The Fairness Doctrine would have the affect of silencing the strong conservative voice in talk radio today. This new media has offset the largely biased mainstream media, which has held a virtual monopoly on the news with the likes of Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather and Katie Couric and Public Broadcasting Corporation (PBS).

Now that Nancy “I am the most powerful woman in the world” Pelosi and her comrades-in-harm have seized power in Congress if only by a slim margin they would love to silence their opponents and once again monopolize the media. This is common communist dictatorial practice. Though Pelosi may not be a card-carrying communist, her philosophy and her anti-American actions offer the same results.

It is interesting that Lucas’ article quotes Ken Blackwell, unsuccessful candidate for Ohio Governor and former Ohio Secretary of State, who is a black conservative (the antithesis of liberals Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson). The article stated that Blackwell disagreed with Imus’ firing, even though he said the long-time radio host's remarks were deplorable."Liberals went after one of their own so they can go after a true conservative talk show host" in the future, (Blackwell) warned. ”Blackwell also faulted Viacom, the parent company of CBS, which fired Imus but still owns Black Entertainment Television, a cable TV channel Blackwell said shows music videos that "denigrate women in general and African-American women in particular."”

Although I do not agree with Secretary Blackwell that Imus should not have been fired, I do agree with him that Viacom is just as guilty of exploiting and espousing racism as Imus. I also think Viacom and other pimps of perversion in the entertainment business should be “fired” by America, which should (1) stop buying their garbage, (2) ban the music from the public airways enforcing or passing indecency laws to insure this, and (3) restrict sales of the x-rated rap, etc. music and relegate this trash to the adult section of record shops requiring a person to be an adult to be able to make any purchase.

Lucas writes in referring to what Dick Morris, political advisor and consultant, said “a decade ago, 50 percent of viewers got their news from ABC, CBS and NBC nightly newscasts. Today, with the explosion of cable news, only 20 percent get their news from those networks.” Morris is quoted as saying, “The Fairness Doctrine only made sense at a time of scarcity and monopoly of media sources.”

The ultimate aim of the Democrat’s “Fairness” Doctrine is to restrain freedom of speech and to silence the voice of the opposition, ala totalitarianism.

Imus is Done

Joseph Farrah had an excellent WorldNetDaily article yesterday in which he wrote about shock jock Don Imus and his latest PR grabbing stunt denigrating black female athletes. Farrah disagreed with Imus’ punishment – the two week suspension, he thinks it was not enough and that he should be fired. Other notables and/or notorious who are calling for Imus’ termination include leftist liberals like Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama, radical liberal activist Al Sharpton, Bruce Gordon, former head of the NAACP and a director of CBS Corp., along with conservatives like journalist Joseph Farrah of WorldNetDaily.

However, a NewsMax article today conjectured, “Sen. Clinton may have had a personal motive to take on Imus. Clinton’s (campaign) e-mail blast could easily be viewed as payback against Imus for constantly attacking her on the air — even referring to her often as "satan” or the "devil.”" So Sen. Clinton may see this as an opportunity to get back a nemesis of hers even more than her apparent “outrage” at any racial insults.

Farrah asked in his article. "But what should we expect from CBS and NBC? They are part of the same irresponsible entertainment industry that has neatly packaged and marketed this same kind of hate speech in the form of "urban music" or rap or hip-hop.”

His point is that Imus’ bosses are as much or more to blame for putting Imus and advocating or promoting the horrid filth that ungraces the airways and the raunchy rap music from which Imus gets his lurid racial slurs. What Imus said on the air is mild compared to the lyrics heard by millions of young people who listen to so-called urban hip hop or rap music. Farrah notes, “And so, when Imus goes, I also want to see Snoop Dog go. I want to see Eminem go. I want to see Mims go. I want to see Young Buck go. Along with them, I want to see the real exploiters go – the music moguls who produce and market this crap to your children."

Therefore the issue goes deeper than the superficial grizzled and decrepit Don Imus and his offensive racial affronts. Farrah concludes that the root cause of the rot when laid bare is, “That means the executives of Capital and Columbia Records gotta go. That means David Geffen needs to stop pretending to be a friend to black people with contributions to Barack Obama's presidential campaign and own up to his responsibility for trading in the sexual and racist hate speech of urban rap.” Wow, doesn’t that really sum up the basic issue doesn’t it?

American culture is being corrupted not only by the slime purveyors like the Imuses and Howard Sterns in the media, but by those who produce, promote and profit from selling sex, violence and drugs in music and entertainment. This decadent lifestyle is constantly being regarded more and more as acceptable and “cool”. These pimps of perversion including Imus are destroying the moral fabric of American society. No wonder the Islamic-terrorists see America as the great Satan – they see this side of America only . . .

Community Defense Act (CDA) in Ohio

Much of this article was borrowed or based on a website presentation of the Ohio-based Citizens for Community Values, which was instrumental in developing Ohio Senate Bill 16, the Community Defense Act. This proposed legislation is important - because it affects the physical and spiritual welfare of our families and our communities. Like legalizing additional forms of gambling, such as casinos and slots, there is much more harm than good that results to society as a whole when such businesses are allowed to exist. Gambling and sexually oriented businesses (SOBs) both work against traditional families.

Wherever sexually oriented businesses are found - strip clubs, adult bookstores and the like - an increase in crime is sure to occur. Heading the list of crimes which sexually oriented businesses attract include violent sexual crimes, prostitution, and dealing of illegal drugs. The damage to our families goes deeper than any increase in crimes and corresponding decline in property values. It goes to the very heart of families. Less well documented, perhaps, but undeniable, are the adverse effects that these businesses have on the marriages, families and individual lives of those who frequent them.

The Community Defense Act (CDA) would place two straightforward regulations on all sexually oriented businesses (SOBs) in Ohio on a uniform, consistent basis. One would limit the hours of operation, requiring that they close between Midnight and 6:00 am, the times that government studies show most of the crimes linked to these businesses occur. The other would require that a distance be kept between nude employees and their patrons, putting an end to so-called "lap dances," a form of prostitution that is commonplace in most nude strip clubs. These two regulations, applied consistently throughout the state, would go so far in limiting the damage inflicted on our families and communities through sex businesses.

The effort demonstrated to Ohio legislators how important that CCV and others felt that these two regulations were to families. They made use of a rarely-used Constitutional provision that allows citizens - concerned voters - to sponsor a bill. By collecting over 220,000 signatures on a petition approved by the Attorney General, CCV was able to present CDA to the Ohio Senate and the House of Representatives on January 2, 2007 the first session day of the 127th General Assembly. This initiative petition process allows the General Assembly four months in which to act on the proposed legislation. CDA must be passed by both the Senate and the House by May 2, 2007.

At this time, thanks to committed leadership, CDA seems to be progressing through the Senate at a pace consistent with that May 2 deadline. CCV is very concerned, however, about passage of CDA by the Ohio House of Representatives. Although received on the very same day, CDA has yet to be assigned to a committee in the House for consideration - the first step in the process toward passage. Getting CDA through the House by that May 2 deadline can still be accomplished - but only if leadership in that chamber makes passage of CDA a priority and takes extraordinary action.

If CDA has not been passed into law by May 2, CCV will be forced to collect a second round of signatures in a very short time frame in order to place the bill on a ballot for vote. That is a costly and difficult procedure.

Funding Cannibalization

This week (beginning tomorrow – Tuesday, April 10th) the United States Senate will begin debating the Reid/Haskins bill, Senate Bill 5, or the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2007 (S. 5), which would provide funding for research that will require the killing of human embryos. The U.S. House passed a similar version of this law. This same bill last year was vetoed by President Bush, who if you remember used his first and only veto to date. The brash Democrat leftist leadership desires to ram this legislation through thinking it may be able to overcome the Presidents veto this time around. Let’s hope not.

CANNIBALIZATION

The dictionary defines cannibalization as “to strip (old – or, in this case, brand new pre-born babies) equipment (or, in this case, human beings) of parts (or here, stem cells) for use in other units.” That is, in essence, what Embryonic Stem Cell Research entails, destroying (so-called salvaging) human beings for the express purpose of experimenting for some yet to be proven benefit for mankind. This dreaded Dr. Jekyll- Nazi Dr. Josef Mengala-like scientific experimentation is at the expense of exterminating fellow human beings.

LEGAL BUT WRONG

Not only is this a terrible waste of money, it is also immoral and unethical to kill fellow human beings just as abortion is. Abortion, even though it is legal, is not funded by the federal government. Likewise, liberals should not force U.S. taxpayers to fund research that requires the killing of embryos. Last July, President Bush vetoed the same bill and the House upheld the veto. This year, the battle will be even more intense, and the drive for S. 5 is strong.

Jesus Lives & So Can You

The Catholic "Eucharist"

Today, Sunday, April 8th, 2008 is the day Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. Thus, this event sealed salvation to all who believe in Him. It doesn’t matter what a person’s religion is, including: Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah Witness, Baptist, Islamism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheism, witchcraft etc. Once a person believes in Jesus, repents and confesses to God. of being a sinner. Immediately the Spirit of God comes into them and they are born-again.

This past Thursday, Holy Thursday to Christians, I happened to listen to a broadcaster named Al on the Roman Catholic radio network. He was talking about the Eucharist and the role of the priest. In John 6:53 Jesus states, “Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” Al said that no where does Jesus comment that this is a metaphor. Actually, Jesus does and Al and the Roman Catholic Church have missed it. In John 6:35 Jesus says, “I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.” So going to Jesus is the same as eating His flesh and believing in Him is the same as drinking His blood. In John 6:63 Jesus tells the disciples that it is the spirit that makes alive; the flesh profits nothing; the words I speak to you they are spirit and they are life. An example of this is recorded in John 4 regarding the woman at the well. Here the people in the town go to Jesus and believe in Him and are saved as a result of listening to Him.

Al goes on to explain that when Jesus gave the Eucharist (Matthew 26:26-28, Jesus took the bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body. And He took the cup, and gave hanks and gave it to them saying, “Drink you all of it, for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Thus, the Roman Catholic Church teaches, as Al said that the bread and wine become divine and when the person eats the bread and drinks the cup they actually eat and drink the body and blood of Jesus. By doing this they fulfill the Scriptures where Jesus said except you eat My flesh and drink My blood you have no life in you. Apparently, Catholics believe that eternal life comes from this act of taking the Eucharist. In this way the Catholic Church teaches it is the priests’ responsibility to serve the Eucharist in order for the people to obtain eternal life, which is not true.

In reality, this is a gate to hell for people are not saved by taking communion. The wine and bread do not become divine. God says He will not give His glory to another nor does He change. For the bread and wine to become divine God would have to give His glory to another and God would have to change. This does not happen.

Secondly, we are not saved by works of righteousness. Partaking in communion is a work of righteousness. As Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:8, 9, “For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of your selves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Thirdly, eternal life is as Martin Luther said, “By faith alone,” see Romans 3:21, 22. The righteousness of God without the law is manifested being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe; for there is no difference. Paul concludes that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law (Romans 3:28). Paul gives the example of this as Abraham in Roams 4. Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Fourthly, a person must have the Spirit of God dwelling in him for salvation to take place. Romans 8:9b reads, “Now if any man has not th Spirit of Christ, he is not His. In Christ also after that you believed you ere sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession (Ephesians1:13, 14)

God sent His only begotten Son because He loved you. Jesus fulfilled the law was flogged, crucified, received into His own body all human sins for all time, endured God’s wrath and separation from God. Finished the process and died. Then He resurrected from the dead. We only have to believe on Him.

Jesus said, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so must the Son of Man be lifted up. The people, in Moses’ day, only had to look at the serpent on the pole and they were healed. We only have to believe in Jesus and we are saved.

Why don’t you believe in Jesus today? You can pray these simple words, “Lord, Jesus Christ forgive me of my evil and the sin that separates me from You and come into my heart and life.” I urge you to pray this now.

A Real Peace Plan

Note: Today, 4/7/07, marks the one year anniversary of this weblog. One year ago today A Good Choice weblog was born. Nearly 300 posts and over 3,000 unique hits ago this weblog grew out of the unsuccessful U.S. Senate (Ohio) campaign of Sam Keiser, Jr., who ran as a conservative Democrat in the 2006 Democrat Primary Election.

We have updated and will continue to improve the weblog for the ongoing intent to defend Judeo-Christian, Conservative American values and principles and to expose and oppose all those who seek to destroy or thwart them, both domestic and foreign.

As we have stated in our newly revised and renewed blog description and purpose statement above, “America is in the midst of a raging cultural and spiritual war. Good Friday

TGIF, Thank God It is Friday. Many Americans look forward to the weekend after a toiling all week at work. Is that what is meant by “Good Friday”? If you are a Christian or have some religious background you may know that Good Friday was the day that Jesus Christ was crucified and died. Good Friday was what had to happen to demonstrate the power of Resurrection Day, or Easter. What is “good” dying?

Great good came from the God-man, Jesus Christ, submitting Himself to be crucified and killed at the hands of sinful man on that first Good Friday. His death was the requirement of God the Father to bring man the hope of redemption. Jesus’ unique Birth - Christmas, His Life, His Crucifixion, His Death Burial and ultimate Resurrection, Easter, and His Ascension into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father is the message of the Bible. Jesus succinctly said it all when He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to (God) the Father except through Me.” That is what is “good” about Friday. The Bble says, "By His stripes we were healed." If you watched Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ movie you can get a glimpse of what Jesus had gone through for our sakes. He literally paid the price for each sin man had ever committed, is committing and will commit.

Jesus had to suffer and die. He had to bear OUR sins on the cross. He had to die. He had to gain the victory over death by rising from the dead. That is the Easter story. That is the reason that Christianity is the one true way to God. All other religions are just that, religion and not alternate roads or ways to God. It is untrue that all roads lead to God. No, there is ultimately only one way to God the Father, the ruler of the Universe, the one true God, the Creator and the Sustainer of all. True Christianity found in a relationship of faith and surrender of one’s life to Jesus Christ is superior to Islam, to Judaism, to Hinduism, to Buddhism, to Scientology, to Mormonism, to Atheism and to all the other “ism” or beliefs, and especially, for America, to Secular Humanism which so dominates our culture and the liberal elite grip in mainline religions, academia, politics etc.

There is definitely a culture war taking place in America, which is even more important than any so-called war on terror, as real as that may be. Evil seems to be wining. Evil manifests itself in the practice of abortion on demand, the acceptance of immorality including adultery, homosexuality, pedophilia and child molestation and other wickedness. Good is characterized by the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is rejected, ridiculed and is so repulsive to the wicked. Good is characterized by those who attempt to preach the Gospel through their lives, including their words and deeds all for the ultimate glory and honor of God and Jesus Christ.

Really, there is no other name by which any of us can be saved (become rightly related to Almighty God) except through Jesus Christ. Make A Good Choice and put your faith, hope and trust in Him today. Are You a Good Person?

Getting Ahead

‘I KNOW THAT WHEN I TOOK THIS JOB YOU PROMISED ME A CHANCE TO GET AHEAD BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS’

I came across this photo this week on The American View website. It might be a little offensive to the politically correct such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). But doesn’t it dramatically illustrate the truism that some people will do just about anything to get ahead, or do just about anything to make a buck? It reminds me of the abortion industry who make most of their money killing innocent, defenseless babies.

Taxes and Conscience

Someone in my church came forward this past Sunday and confessed some sins. He said that his business partner had been illegally writing off cell phones as a business expense when some of them were only being used for personal use by the families of the employees. He just let this slide rather than risk ending the partnership or losing employees. I agree with him that what he did was theft. He said that his conscience bothered him about this and it led him to commit worse sins.

Also this week I watched an old Billy Graham television special in which he discussed the conscience. He talked about how a person can dull his conscience to the point where worse sins can be committed without any guilt. He talked about how a person can accept Christ and restore a pure conscience from a corrupted state. He also mentioned that there is a conscience fund box (located at post offices) from people who have remorse for having cheated the government.

The fact that there are tax exemptions for business expenses causes compromising situations like the one my fellow congregant described. The cost of government using money to manipulate how people spend their money is the devastating consequence of corruption and lawlessness. People who know that they can get away with cheating the government and don’t care will likely do it. This amounts to a tax on conscientiousness. The tax code is so huge and complicated that people don’t even know if they’re cheating the government or not.

Every special interest needs to give up their sweetheart deals. I am even in favor of getting rid of tax exemptions for churches. Simplicity and restraint of taxation is not just an economic issue, it a moral issue. The higher the tax rates, the more temptation there is to cheat. If I really had my way I would get rid of the IRS altogether, drastically cut spending (starting with stopping the war in Iraq), get rid of all of the free trade agreements, and increase tariffs and excise taxes.

Why should people who spend more of their money on a business get favorable treatment from the government? What gives the government the right to do this anyway? Even though the government cheats us in this and many other ways in regard to taxation, I don’t believe in taking the law into your own hands by cheating the government to make up for it.

"Love" Those “Hate Crime” Laws!

One video depicts a so-called homosexual-pride parade, which would be protected under new “hate crimes” law. If someone would dare protest the kind of public indecency as shown on this video, he or she could be charged with a criminal act

A new “hate crimes” bill protecting homosexual activity has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act (HR 1592) would protect the immoral activity shown on this video.

The bill is designed to silence any opposition to the homosexual lifestyle. If this “hate crimes” bill is passed, and you publicly protest, complain or oppose the type of activity portrayed in this video, you could be subject to prosecution for a criminal act.

To stop this bill, which would give special rights to homosexuals, please take these actions today.

The radical leftist and actually very un-American People for the American Way organization in an article on its website asks its constituents to write their Congressional and Senatorial representatives to:

" - Put an end to Hate Crimes by cosponsoring and voting for the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 (H.R. 1592) and the companion bill to be introduced by Senators Kennedy and Smith;

" - Put an end to workplace discrimination by cosponsoring and voting for Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) when introduced and voted upon in the House and Senate; and

" - Put an end to the ban on patriotic (homosexuals) and lesbians from being able to openly serve in our nation’s military by cosponsoring and voting for the Military Readiness Enhancement Act (H.R. 1246). . ."

The fact that an organization such as PFAW supports an issue, in and of itself is almost reason enough to outright oppose this terrible trio of legislation.

Each of these bills attempt to give homosexuals and lesbians and other sexually alternate and abhorrent lifestyles license to flaunt their immorality on the rest of America with impunity. In essence these three pieces of legislation would give these people special rights and create as a special protected class of citizens. This is wrong. The laws already on the books are more than sufficient to protect the elderly grandmother, the disabled child, whites, blacks, straight men or "homosexuals", straight women or "lesbians".

All proposed so-called “hate crime” bills must be defeated for the health and well being of American society. Write, email or call your Congressional Representatives and ask them to oppose ALL "hate crime" bills.

The U.N. & FemiNastiness

One litmus test that I have found to be very useful is to be very leery of anything emanating from the United Nations endorses or favors. If the U.N. is for something, that should send up caution flags. In this article we cover one issue where the goals and objectives of the corrupt United Nations meet or intersect with the goals and objective of radical feminism. Neither of this bodies of belief have the best interests of America in their agendas.

The Family Research Council calls the United Nation’s Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Discrimination Against Woman (CEDAW) one of the most dangerous agreements to which the United States would entrap itself. Tony Perkins recently wrote, “Today, the United States is the only industrialized nation that has not ratified CEDAW. Why? Because this fine-sounding act is really designed to eliminate any concept of gender – whether by devaluing say-at-home moms or forcing countries to draft women into the military. And of course, CEDA pushes two of the Left’s other favorite issues, abortion on demand and same-sex “marriage.”

Wendy Wright concludes in an article titled “CEDAW: A Global Tool That Would Harm Women”, saying, “CEDAW is fundamentally flawed. No reservations (amendments) could protect our (American) laws and culture from its skewed belief that there is no difference between men and women. The United States should not give our prestige, nor subject our citizens to CEDAW.”

In Wrights article she also says, “Ratifying CEDAW would lend the Untied States’ prestige and credibility, not only to the treaty, but also to the CEDAW committee’s rulings. Here are snapshots of some of those rulings:

* Told China to decriminalize prostitution.

* Criticized Mexico for a "lack of access … to easy and swift abortion.

* Criticized Ireland for the Catholic Church's influence of attitudes and state policy.

* Told Libya to re-interpret the Koran in the light of CEDAW.

* Derided Slovenia for having only 30 percent of children under age three in formal daycare (revealing the belief that children are better off being raised by strangers than mothers, and that women should not choose to stay at home with their kids).

* Told Romania and Austria to integrate gender studies in schools.

* Reprimanded Belarus for celebrating Mother's Day.

* Told Armenia to "combat the traditional stereotype of women in the noble role of mother."

* Reprimanded Hong Kong for exempting "'the affairs of religious denominations or orders' from the scope of the Convention.

* Criticized Croatia for "the refusal, by some hospitals, to provide abortions on the basis of conscientious objection of doctors. The Committee considers this to be an infringement of women's reproductive rights.

* Told numerous countries to mandate sex education and provide access to contraception.

* Told Vietnam to " take urgent and wide-ranging measures, including targeted educational programmes, the revision of curricula and textbooks, and mass media campaigns, to overcome traditional stereotypes regarding the role of women and men in the society.

* Told Mexico it "would welcome a more equitable redistribution of wealth among the population.

* Told Italy to " sensitize judges, lawyers and law enforcement personnel … to Italy's international obligations, in particular those outlined in the Convention.

* Praised Croatia " on the fact that the Convention … may be invoked before the courts by any citizen.

* Told numerous countries to implement the concept of comparable worth - that is, equal pay for unequal work, or wages to be determined by the government.

* Urged Belarus to reduce "protective standards which often have a discriminatory effect on women in general and pregnant women in particular.

* Told Kyrgyzstan "that lesbianism be reconceptualized as a sexual orientation.

“The foundation of a healthy society is strong families, individual morality and freedom. CEDAW and its Committee view all these as hindrances to women achieving equality…”

You get a sense of what CEDAW would mean to the United States by reading some of its rulings above. To me these ideas are anti-family, immoral and anti-American. We should urge our representatives to do everything within their power to oppose this vile and unnecessary agreement. Liberals' Favorite Pastime

It is opening day for Major League Baseball. Tom Hamilton is back announcing the play-by-play on WTAM radio for the Cleveland Indians. It is Easter which brings open season for many leftist liberal elite again to mock the Lord and God, Jesus Christ. Easter is probably the greatest, most significant time of the year for true Christian believers.

It has become almost an annual ritual each Eastertide for the liberal leftists in the arts, academia, entertainment and media to ridicule, insult and even blaspheme Jesus. Jesus is the Rock on which leftist liberals, atheists and their comrades must mount an attack. They are intent on chipping away at America’s foundation. They try to intimidate and to marginalize and above all to minimize the major impact that this God-Man has made and continues to make on this wicked world.

UNCOVERING JESUS’ BONES

This year the Discovery Channel aired a crockumentary which offered “proof” of the mere humanity of Jesus allegedly finding His bones. This is in direct contradiction to the Biblical account accepted and by Christian believers worldwide. This fantasy video production was meant to make money and to shatter the faith of weak Christian and was generally insulting to Christians everywhere, not to mention dishonoring to God Himself.

CONJURING UP A CONFECTIONARY CHOCOLATE JESUS

Just last Friday MSNBC reported that a naked 200 pound sculpture made of chocolate depicting a bald Jesus Christ would be on display in a Manhattan Hotel in New York City. The online article said, “A planned Holy Week exhibition of a nude, anatomically correct chocolate sculpture of Jesus Christ was canceled Friday amid a choir of complaining Catholics that included Cardinal Edward Egan.”

“The "My Sweet Lord" display was shut down by the hotel that houses the Lab Gallery in midtown Manhattan, said Matt Semler, the gallery's creative director. Semler said he submitted his resignation after officials at the Roger Smith Hotel shut down the show."

This mockery would not be tolerated in any “peace loving” Islamic country if the subject of the display was the prophet Mohammed would it? The “artist” would most likely be missing a part of his own anatomically correct body, his head. Apparently, Christians are expected to “tolerate” this good natured bashing. Furthermore, it seems to that the Christian religion is the only religion which I not off limits to lambasting by anyone anywhere.
Sadly even the Easter Bunny is accorded more positive press and respect than the Savior of the world, the One and Only forgiver of sins and reconciler of man to God! How far America has regressed or de-evolved!

JESUS OBAMA?

A.J. Sterling in a Fox News video reports, “Some call it art. Other(s) call it blasphemy. A new piece of art showing Senator Barack Obama as Jesus Christ is now on display at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.” I know Jesus and B-man, you are no Jesus! Barack Obama is an empty suit, a media invention.

Obama is a man of leftist liberal principles and values, who like many Democrat Party leaders, he pushes a predominately anti-Christian, anti-traditional agenda for America agenda. He is a socialist using any association with Christianity for political purposes and denying its power and its core truths. Actually he and his liberal cohorts may be better portrayed dressed in red and holding pitchforks.

REASON TO MOCK THE ROCK

Jesus Christ is the very antithesis of all radical liberal ideals, thought and values. He and His followers represent the major roadblock to leftist liberal elite establishing a one-world socialist utopia. His values, thoughts, principles, precepts and practices are vehemently contrary to a woman’s “right to kill her child on demand” (abortion), to the acceptance of homosexuality behavior as normal and moral, to the teaching of moral relativism and situational ethics in our schools, and to the teaching of evolution as the explanation for the origin of man and not God’s creation.

Senator Harry Reid recently made the statement that Iraq is not worth one more drop of American blood.

Has he not read what our Founding Fathers wrote, that we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all man are created equal. Did not God create the Iraqis equal to us? Is not their blood as important and of equal value as our blood? Does not God love each Iraqi citizen as much as He does each American citizen?

The freedoms and liberties in the United States were paid for by those who lived before us. It is our inheritance from God-fearing people who paid the price and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? Therefore, should we not be willing to pay the price for others to be free?

Jesus said, “Greater love has no man, than to lay down his life for his friend.” Where is your love Senator Reid for your friend? Where is your love, Senator Reid, for the Iraqi people? Apparently you have none. Neither do 99% of the Democrats in Congress have any true love for the Iraqi people.

The Democrats in Congress, for the most part, are a people without God, without love and full of selfishness and greed. I ask God’s forgiveness for putting such degenerate individuals like you Senator Reid and the other Democrat Party leaders into positions of trust.
