“Rightwing Extremism” Policy Challenged in Court

In a recent post, I indicated that the appointment of Janet Napolitano was a reason why the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act are bad for Christians. While many conservatives supported these measures to combat terrorism, they are clearly violations of the 4th and 5th amendments which are now in fact being used against Christians. I didn’t specifically mention the “Rightwing Extremism” Policy which was recently instituted by Napolitano. An important development has now come to my attention regarding this. This is really serious.

Radio talkshow host Michael Savage, the Center for Bio-ethical Reform, its Execute Director Gregg Cunningham, and Iraq war veteran Kevin Murray have filed a lawsuit against Napolitano as well as Eric Holder, in their official capacities as Secretary of the DHS and Attorney General of the United States, respectively. The basis of the suit is that the “Rightwing Extremism” Policy unfairly targets those with particular views on various issues (including abortion, same-sex marriage, illegal immigration, and state and national sovereignty) by violating their 5th amendment right to equal protection under the law as well as the violation of the freedom of speech clause of the first amendment. They are even targeting war veterans just for being “disgruntled”. The “Rightwing Extremism” Policy explicitly states that one of its goals is deter “rightwing extremists” in various activities deemed dangerous by the Obama administration such as engaging in paramilitary exercises.

Pray that they would conduct themselves in a respectful manner (Mr. Savage has a tendency to shoot off his mouth), that the hypocrisies of the Obama administration would be exposed (especially to Christians who still don’t get it). And above all, pray that God would be glorified in this matter.

Invitation to Evil

Randall Terry, a Pro-Life leader and long-time activist and advocate, drafted a resignation letter for Father John Jenkins' use. Jenkins is the President of the University of Notre Dame, where the alleged President of the United States, Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama, spoke this afternoon. Terry feels that as a result of this foolish and controversial invitation, and resulting protest and outcry by Catholics and Christians in America and around the world, Jenkins will be forced to resign. Here is Terry's suggested draft resignation letter for Jenkins:

When I took holy vows as a priest, I had high hopes and deep desires to serve Christ and His Church with valor, and without watering in fidelity.

Regrettably, I have failed in my duty as a priest, and brought much scandal and confusion to the faithful.

My decision to acquiesce to the urging of others to invite President Obama to speak at our 2009 commencement - even though I knew he was openly defiant of our Lord's commandment, "Thou shalt not murder," and that as President he has personally authorized the shedding of innocent blood in America and around the world - shows that my moral compass has been badly damaged.

It is clear that I do not possess the internal fortitude to resist the machinations of those who promote child-killing, and who seek to tear apart Christ's beloved bride. I am not fit to lead this institution in the battles to defend God's innocents, and Catholic orthodoxy.

After much reflection, as an act of contrition before our Lord, His Church, Our Lady, the holy men who founded Notre Dame, and the million of innocent children who have been slaughtered by abortion, I hereby tender my resignation as President of Notre Dame University, effective immediately.

Compromising Irish Throw in the Towel for Poltical Correctness

Before we look at Notre Dame’s Board of Trustees, it is important to look first at their hired gun, the president of the university. Father John Jenkins is affiliated with and supports Pro-Death wickedness.

ND’S PRESIDENT

In a Washington Times editorial, “Booing Notre Dame,” the editor notes ND’s Jenkins involvement in a dubious Pro-Death organization,

“. . .Father Jenkins is a member of the board of directors of Millennium Promise, an organization ostensibly organized to fight poverty. A closer look exposes a darker agenda. One of Millennium Promise's major initiatives is Millennium Villages, a joint project with the United Nations Development Program and Columbia University's Earth Institute that promotes "reproductive rights" as a solution to poverty in the Third World, especially in Africa.

“In a chapter on "Maternal and Child Health" in the June 2008 Millennium Villages Handbook, one of the organization's "core interventions" is listed as "abortion services." The handbook states: "In countries where abortion is legal, safe abortion services in controlled settings by skilled practitioners should be established." To make abortion more accessible in remote areas, the action plan advises that abortion services need to be expanded to the village level. In a subsection of the handbook titled "Quick Impact Initiatives for Gender," one of the "strategic priorities" is to "expand access to family planning and contraceptive information and services." Father Jenkins refused to comment to The Washington Times, but surely he knows that abortion and artificial contraceptives are prohibited by the Catholic Church . . .”

ND’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Frank Walker in his PewSitter.com article, "No Likely Support From Notre Dame's Board of Trustees For Rescinding Obama Invite” offers his assessment of the University of Notre Dame’s Board of Trustees and shows why they will not rescind the University’s decision to invite the Pro-Death President to speak at its commencement exercise tomorrow and likewise receive an honorary doctorate degree in law.

“In conclusion, a review of the Board of Trustees at Notre Dame does NOT reveal a particularly strong Catholic identity. There are board members whose actions and associations put them in a position directly at odds with Church teaching and in line with the Obama administration. At the Notre Dame board, we see a group of well-connected well-heeled individuals from all sectors of society, and at the most prominent levels. Taking a stand against inviting the President of the United States would likely jeopardize membership in the elite club where they travel. Therefore it is highly unlikely that there will be any movement from within the board to rescind invitation to President Obama.”

In his article Walker identifies several ND alumni as having corrupt Chicago political ties. Furthermore, Walker categorizes a number of Board of Trustees as follows:

• Those with questionable ethics
• Those supporting immoral policies, and
• Bankers beholden to Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack Obama

Dr. Alan Keyes, who is in a South Bend jail at the protest in South Bend, thought that the protest may turn what was meant for evil (the Soetoro a/k/a Obama visit to Notre Dame) to good (Catholics and Christians who may have voted for Soetoro alias Obama believing that he was Pro-Life now will clearly see, through the protest, that he is truly radically Pro-Death.)

Here is a shocking video capturing what transpired at the protest yesterday (Friday, May 15) in South Bend, Indiana at the supposedly Catholic institution: the arrest of an 83 year old priest, Father Norman Weslin. This gruesome and heart-wrenching atrocity was perpetrated by the Notre Dame police under the auspices of Father John Jenkins, the president of ND. It informs the world of the heights of injustice, immorality and insanity to which the leadership of the ND leadership has risen. The ND administration and Board of Trustees, by their invitation of the most Pro-Death and evil-promoting president in the history of America and perhaps the Western world, thumbs their collective noses at God, righteousness and goodness.



It is outrageous, in the first place, to invite this radical Pro-Death official to a supposedly religious institution to address the graduating class, giving them their marching orders. But ND takes it a step further. It does something that even a secular institution such as Arizona State University refused to do. The ND will bestow an honorary degree to an unaccomplished, godless, leftwing Chicago political establishment produced hack, whose policies are immoral through and through. This is truly beyond the pale.

Notre Dame Shame

This coming Sunday the University of Notre Dame will be hosting the current occupier of the White House. This is causing great consternation in the Catholic and Christian communities. It is, in a word, immoral. What was more outrageous than that was that Georgetown University complied instead of telling him and his staff to go to take a hike to Absurdistan.

Obama is Not For Civil Liberties

Most conservative Christians rightfully quote the first, second, and fourteenth amendments in objection to overbearing and unjust policies of government. But what about the fourth and fifth amendments?

The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution reads:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution reads:

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.



Since President Bush did everything he could to destroy our civil liberties, we are now in even more danger from having our rights taken away from us with the more emboldened Mr. Obama (illegitimately) in office. In the name of the “War on Terror” Bush has bequeathed the legal tools Obama needed to put Christians in jail and physically abuse them, in addition to the more traditional ways that liberals trample on our rights.



Everybody is complaining about Janet Napolitano, but she would not be the Secretary of the Department Homeland Security if hadn’t been for Bush. As reward for his loyalty to the Republican Party above the Constitution, the Bush creation of the DHS in November of 2002 was a political pat on the back for the pro-abortion, pro-gun control Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge. (May God grant Pat Toomey a victory over Ridge in the race for the Senate!) While taking away our guns, telling us seal our houses with plastic and keep bottles of water with bleach in it for drinking water in case of a terrorist attack, Tom Ridge didn’t make the “homeland” any more secure.

And what’s this? Obama is reversing himself on releasing photos of the Abu Ghraib abuse! Obama is even standing up to the ACLU on this one! (Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but not Obama!)

This week, Pro-Life advocates, led by Dr. Alan Keyes and Operation Rescue's founder Randall Terry, who are spearheading the protest against the school that will be bringing the alleged President Barry Soetoro’s (a/k/a Barack Obama) to its campus, plan to stage a series of protests there. Soetoro/Obama's Pro-Death baggage and his ongoing barrage of the defenseless unborn babies, are absolutely intolerable. As it turns out, last Friday’s arrest of Dr. Keyes, former Ambassador to the United Nations, former Senatorial and Presidential candidate, was a prelude or tune-up to what will take place this week.

As expected you will not find the opposition Soetoro/Obama-adoring media objectively reporting on this protest. Their can-do-no-wrong, media endorsed, protected and sanctioned President will continue to receive a free ride and glowing reports. The Pro-Life contingent hopes to inform America and the World that not all Catholics or Christians agree with the wayward, amoral school leadership’s decision.

After all, as Dr. Keyes describes Soetoro/Obama as now representing “the focus of abortion evil in the entire world today, and has by his decisions has been promoting abortion in every possible extreme way that he could – with federal funding, with appointments (Judge David Hamilton, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, for example), even stripping away the rights of consciences of medical workers, if he has his way, so that they can be enslaved in conscience to to evil and perpetrate this atrocity (abortion) against God's will.”

Keyes' Interview Just Before His Arrest

On Saturday I wrote two articles regarding Alan Keyes and his arrest and imprisonment on Friday and his release on Saturday. In the video below, Coach Dave Daubenmire of Pass the Salt Ministries interviewed Dr. Alan Keyes just prior to his arrest on Friday on the University of Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Indiana.



A few of the comments made by Ambassador Keyes during this interview that stood out to me were:

“The fact the University of Notre Dame extended an invitation and has extended an honorary degree to (Barry Soetoro a/k/a) Barack Obama is a deep scandal . . .”

‘Separation of Church and State’ is a Lie

Bill Wilson had an excellent commentary last Friday (May 8, 2009) in his Daily Jot on the so-called ‘separation of church and state’ concept or interpretation. The following is an excerpt from article, “Constitutional Freedom and This Present Darkness.”

“. . . The Founding Fathers of America were very precise in their writing of the Constitution. Their words were direct in that they did not want to be misinterpreted, but like those who misinterpret the Bible, there have been gross misinterpretations of the Constitution. One such misinterpretation is separation of church and state.

“The First Amendment to the Constitution reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This specifically means that government is “hands off” on anything that restricts religion, freedom of speech, the right to assemble peaceably and to petition the Government for grievances. It means that religion and free speech have free reign—it can be practiced anywhere, anytime, especially on public property, because Congress cannot restrict it and if the other branches try they are violating the Constitution . . .

· Laws that restrict speech, such as hate crimes;
· laws that restrict establishment of religion and the free exercise thereof such as
. . . hate crimes,
. . . prayer in public places, at government functions, at public school athletic events;
· those that prohibit displays of Christianity in public places
are unconstitutional by the very definition of the Constitution. They were not changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole people, as Washington suggests is the only way to change the Constitution. Let President Obama know America is a nation of Judeo-Christian values

“At a press conference in Turkey, President (Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack) Obama asserted that the United States is not a Judeo-Christian nation.

“"One of the great strengths of the United States," the President said, "is ... we have a very large Christian population -- we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation."

“Our nation's Founders in 1776 recognized the importance of faith in the founding of our nation when they approved the Declaration of Independence with its four direct religious acknowledgments of God as

• the Creator ("All people are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"),
• the Lawgiver ("the laws of nature and nature's God"),
• the Judge ("appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world"), and
• · the Protector ("with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence")

of the new nation.
