SCOTUS and the Left Engineer Sodom and Gomorrah 2.0, Damage Constitution

In last week's redaction of the United States Constitution, the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) has done the following:

1.)  Morphed ObamaCare into SCOTUScare, and
2.)  Corrupted marriage, which has become SCOTUSmarriage!

These are important milestones in the Leftist agenda to fundamentally transform America into the Sodom and Gomorrah 2.0!

The President's Great Global Warming Diversion

Once again our dear leader, President Obama, has pursued an unwise course. He has taken funds earmarked for national security and redirected them to ameliorate non-existent, fantasy-driven man-made global warming. He did this in lieu of fighting genuine domestic Islam-fueled domestic terrorism.

The following NetRightDaily's  A.F. Branco cartoon depicts explicitly the President's latest unwise decision.

The Radical Homosexual Mafiosos Attack Religious Liberty in Indiana and Win a Battle

I have been following the debacle debate in Indiana over the simple Religious Liberty legislation that was passed, signed, then was amended, then passed and signed again by the battered and beleaguered Governor Mike Pence.

The Homosexual Mafia and many of their comrades on the  Left including and especially the bigoted and biased main stream media along with big business attacked the governor and made him cave to the demand of the vile <1%, the radical homosexual activists. They acted like spoiled children or ideological terrorist bent on getting their way and advancing their perverse agenda.

The reworked law was worse than not having a law. It assured that Religious Liberty was sacrificed to political correctness and acquiesces to the volatile demands of the Homosexual mafia and its allies, including the NCAA, the NFL and big business interests. I guess Governor Pence chose the thirty pieces of silver over religious freedom for the people and businesses of Indiana. It is a real shameful slap in the face of those who believe in Religious Liberty.  I had really hoped that Governor Pence would veto this terrible bill...

PRESS RELEASE
HYPOCRISY OF THE LEFT REACHES NEW LOWS WITH ATTACKS ON INDIANA AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Akron, OH -  Tom Zawistowski, President of the Ohio Citizens PAC, spoke out today against the hypocrisy of the left with its unwarranted and ill-informed attacks on Indiana and Religious Freedom.  Zawistowski said “The media knows, and the facts prove, that the largest group being discriminated against in America today are Christians and Jews.  Not Muslims, not blacks, not gays - Christians and Jews. They are being unfairly stereotyped as haters and bigots and the source of discrimination in America. They are being forced out of our schools, our government and our universities by anti-American extremists on the left. It is Muslims who discriminate against women and gays, it is blacks whose hate for white police officers are being stoked by fabricated untruths about Ferguson and other cases, it is gays who want to force their life style on Christians and take away their 1st Amendment right to Religious Freedom. We applaud the Indiana Legislature and Governor for defending Religious Freedom because it is under attack.”

Zawistowski continued by saying “The symbol of justice is a scale. It signifies that there must be a balance between the rights of one group, or one person, and another. The Indiana law strikes that balance, that is what the outrages the left and the media. The Indiana law does not discriminate against gays or anyone else, it does “Restore” the fact the Religious Freedom is a fundamental right not to be infringed by other rights.  The radical regressive left doesn’t want equal rights, it wants to dominate other citizens, to force people to do what “they” say - and they do it by claiming that the opposite is true.  This tactic is right out of "rules for radicals" and the media is either complicit or foolish enough to buy the lie. We are not. Gays and the anti-American left are the bullies and the hypocrites and the bigots - not Christians and Jews.”

Zawistowski concluded by saying “Apple’s gay CEO Tim Cook threatens the people of Indiana for not doing what he wants them to do against their will, but he sells Apple products in Russian and China and Saudi Arabia where they kill gays just for being gay - how disingenuous.  The NCAA can literally use black youth as slaves to earn them billions in profits without giving the vast majority of them even an education, and then have the gall to speak down to the people of Indiana about d1scrimination. The NAACP can shout the lie “Hands Up Don't Shoot” and claim “Black Lives Matter” then do nothing about the black-on-black genocide in our American cities.  Connecticut’s despicable Governor can attack the new Indiana law knowing full well that his state has an even tougher Religious Freedom law because for the left truth does not matter, only forcing their will on others matters. This is not about gay rights at all, this is about using gays as a tool to destroy religion in America so that all citizens must answer to the state, not a higher power. We will not be bullied. We will not give up our rights. We will not believe your lies. We will defend our rights, and the right of all Americans, to practice our religion in public and in our daily lives. God bless America and God bless Governor Pence and the good people of Indiana. All true Americans stand with you.”

OK House Oks Bill Ending State Marriage Licenses!

I found this article on the Daily Paul Liberty Forum...

“The point of my legislation is to take the state out of the process and leave marriage in the hands of the clergy,” said state Rep. Todd Russ, R-Cordell, the bill’s House author. “Marriage was historically a religious covenant first and a government-recognized contract second. Under my bill, the state is not allowing or disallowing same-sex marriage. It is simply leaving it up to the clergy.”
Uh oh... there's controversy...
"The executive director of Freedom Oklahoma, which advocates in behalf of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, criticized House passage of the measure."
I hope the OK Senate passes it. Get the State out of marriage! Would love to see SCOTUS try to abrogate the First Amendment. They'd be in for the fight of their life.

Cincinnati Gay Rights Activist Faked Abduction

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/crime-courts/adam-hoover-ohio-gay-rights-activist-charged-faking-abduction-police-n316246

Adam Hoover, a Cincinnati gay rights activist, called 911 claiming that he had been abducted and was forced into the trunk of his car.  I am guessing that this was an attempt to smear pro-family values Christians.  I am wondering how the news media is going to proceed with this story.

Remember the Matthew Shepard case?  Matthew's mother and others are still using him as an example of why we need so-called "hate crimes" laws to give "hated" groups like homosexuals extra protection under the law because they are supposedly more hated than others.  But it was later found that the motive of Matthew Shepard's murderers was robbery and they had no idea that he was gay.  Yet they still go around to schools and colleges giving speeches about how we need extra protection for gays because of Matthew's murder.

But back to Adam Hoover.  Why would anyone be so dumb as to force someone into the trunk of a car without first taking their communication devices away from them?  Why would Adam be so dumb as to think that he was going to get away with this?  When are people going to wake up realize that the gay agenda is not about equality or getting rid of hate, but is about selfishness and dishonesty?  The police had to respond to Adam's call because at first they had no way of knowing that it wasn't a real emergency situation.  Other people could have lost their possessions or even their lives due to crimes because the police were tied up with this phony report.  Even if he had a just cause (which he doesn't) it is totally wrong to make a false report to the police.  It is pure selfishness.

Homosexuality is dirty and degrading.  But this does not make me want to abduct or murder a homosexual.  Nor does it make anybody else want to do this.  Prostitution, child molestation, and bestiality are also dirty and degrading.  But I am not going to go out and abduct any of those perverts either.  Rather, I would try to gently and lovingly convince any who engage in any form of sexual immorality to repent and trust in Jesus.  But this does not make for a good story according to the mainstream news media.

Selma Civil Rights March: News Media Supports Historical Inaccuracy

They (the mainstream news media) are still crediting the "Emancipation Proclamation"  as the law that ended slavery, even though it really was the 13th Amendment that ended slavery.  The EP only applied to ten of the southern states, was an illegal over-reach of Presidential powers, and some northern states continued to practice slavery after it was issued.

But now we have a new historical fallacy regrading the attenuation of racial inequality.  People want to take credit for what someone else has done.  I have heard several news reports that the so-called Selma Civil Rights March "gave blacks the right to vote".  This is totally absurd.  Supposedly, this march led to adoption of the Voting Rights Act which they are saying "gave blacks the right to vote".

The 15th Amendment is what really guarantees that blacks (and people of any other race) have the right to vote.  To be more correct, they can't be denied the right to vote on the basis of race.  Here it is ratified nearly 100 years before all of this "Voting Rights Act" nonsense:
Section. 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
Section. 2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
According to Wikipedia, "In Mobile v. Bolden (1980), the Supreme Court held that as originally enacted in 1965, Section 2 [of the VRA] simply restated the Fifteenth Amendment..."

The real purpose of the VRA was to give the Federal Government power to manipulate local elections so that the fat cats in Washington could stay in power.   The VRA does not do anything to protect blacks but does prohibit certain prerequisites for voting like literacy tests, educational or knowledge requirements, proof of good moral character, and requirements that a person be vouched for.  So this is really about making sure that corrupt, immoral and uneducated people can vote so that the votes of the honest, hardworking, and knowledgeable Americans can be diluted.  It is easier for a corrupt politician to get elected if the electorate is uneducated and selfish.  The VRA has absolutely nothing to do with race.

This is just another example why Americans need to do two things:  1. learn the Constitution 2. do not support any piece of legislation until you have read it yourself.  People are now making a big deal about this 50th anniversary of the Selma march because they want to take credit for something that had already been done a long time before that.

Disturbed, Disgusted, and Disappointed with Betrayal of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner on Executive Amnesty Funding!

Words cannot express the depth of disappointment and disgust I feel toward the most recent sellout by the GOP leadership to the Republican elites and Chamber of Commerce types and the perverse "progressive" agenda of President Obama and his comrades in Congress. I really can't say I am shocked. Boehner and McConnell mouth a good line, but when push comes to show they quit, give up, acquiesce... they lie, they betray both conservative and Republican principles and the voters who elected them to office.

If the GOP will not stand against the blatant affront to the constitution and the separation of powers by this lame duck leftist President on this matter of executive overreach on amnesty, where and when will they stand?

The following news release says it all!

Consequences for Republican Betrayal

Far Exceed Consequences of any DHS "Shutdown"

Mogadore, Ohio - The Portage County TEA Party Executive Director, Tom Zawistowski, made clear today that the consequences for the Republican betrayal in the Senate will far exceed the consequences of any DHS "Shutdown".  Zawistowski explained, "Senator McConnell and his ilk in the Senate need to clearly understand that the betrayal of all of their campaign promises, the betrayal of the very Oath of Office he himself swore just weeks ago to defend the Constitution, and the betrayal of the base of the Republican Party by allowing 5.5 million illegal non-citizens to acquire social security numbers and drivers licenses so that they can vote Democrat in coming elections, will result in the loss of the Senate and the White House in 2016. Their refusal to fight and win on DHS only provides further proof that they lied to the voters in 2014. Millions of Republican's and conservatives will no longer be played for fools by voting for liars and hypocrites. Romney did not win Ohio because hundreds of thousands of Ohio conservatives stayed home in 2012. Senator Rob Portman and the Republican presidential nominee can expect an even larger shunning by conservative Ohio voters in 2016. The unprincipled and cowardly actions of liberal RINO's like John McCain are an insult to any voter that calls themselves a Republican."

Zawistowski concluded by saying, "Let's also stop insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. The result of the supposed "Government Shutdown" in 2013 was a LANDSLIDE victory by Republicans in 2014. Claims to the contrary are contrived inside the beltway fiction. The result of the Senate not having the courage of a Ted Cruz on the DHS bill will be exactly the opposite, a LANDSLIDE victory for the Democrats in 2016.  The only reason the RINO's in the Senate don't want a shutdown is because it will work and they don't want it to work. The don’t want to protect American jobs. They don't care about the black Americans and legal hispanic Americans who will lose work to these illegals. They don’t want to live up to their campaign promises to voters in their states. They want illegal immigration to placate their big monied Chamber of Commerce masters and their actions prove it. We get the message, you represent them and not us. We will be sure to vote accordingly in 2016, or more precisely not vote at all."

The TEA Party is not a political party but a grassroots cultural movement.  The movement is educating American citizens about the Constitution and the uniquely American form of self-governance that has made our country so successful.  Through this education, the movement is attempting to re-define what it means to be an American citizen, by encouraging individuals to vote, to run for office and to attend government meetings in their areas so that they can participate in their self-governance.  The acronym TEA stands for Totally Engaged Americans.

American Sniper (2014), a Review

I’m very selective as to the movies I watch and especially those that I pay to see in a movie theater. I saw American Sniper last evening upon the ‘recommendation’ of movie critic and obese movie maker Michael Moore. If that radical leftist didn’t like the movie, then it surely must be a good one. It was.

The Saturday prime time movie crowd filled the theater to 90%-plus capacity, as it has all over the nation. The movie is quite riveting and realistic, maybe too much so  in parts. Violence and sailor language permeates the movie. However, that is an accurate reflection of military life. The movie is definitely meant for adults.

The movie gives the viewer a peek at the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It follows the life of a famed Navy Seal sniper, Chris Kyle. The movie alternates between shots of him a home in the United States and him at work in Iraq. A couple particular moving events in the movie are when he is faced with having to shoot a young boy and his mother who are on a suicidal mission to destroy U.S. Marines with a grenade.   He reluctantly had to decide whether to shoot them or not. In another similar incident he held his fire until a young boy dropped a rocket propelled grenade laucher (RPG) that he picked up after Kyle killed the Islamist terrorist who was about to shoot at a Marine convoy.

Another series of scenes that stuck out to me was the battle within a battle between the ace Islamic terrorist sniper and the American sniper, Kyle. Over the course of much of the movie the battle plays out with the Islamist sniper getting the best of Kyle for the most part.

In his four tours of duty Kyle had some serious ups and downs at home relating with his wife and children. A lot of trouble came from his inability to leave Iraq mentally and emotionally. He was driven by some degree of revenge for what the Islamic terrorists did to some of his fellow combatants.

Kyle’s life was forever impacted at the end of the movie by a troubled veteran, who Kyle was trying to help.

Clint Eastwood directed and produced the movie. He is one of my favorite actors and he does a great job with this movie. The acting of Bradley Cooper as Kyle was also commendable. The movie is a five-star movie. I would recommend it for every adult citizen.

It is more educational than it is pure entertainment. It is educational as far as portraying with historical accuracy and graphic representation what America and the entire Western world facea in dealing with the corrupt nature of Islam and its most ardent and observant followers.  It delves into the life of a patriot American, who is willing to sacrifice his life and all that is important to him to preserve the freedom for which America is known and admired.

Late Night Jokes - Jeb Bush and Willard Romney, More Alike Than Not and the 2016 Election

Late Night Takes

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

·  Potential presidential candidate Jeb Bush will release a decade’s worth of tax returns to avoid comparisons to Mitt Romney. Yeah, they’re nothing alike. They’re just both former governors from wealthy families whose parents gave them super-weird names.

These jokes is courtesy of NewsMax.com which periodically sends out an email compilation of late night jokes, few of which are worth repeating . . . these were the exceptions.

An addendum:

In addition, both Jeb Bush and Willard Mitt Romney are Republicans in Name Only (RINOs).
Both are GOP elite approved candidates.
Both are tolerated by the main stream media.
They are conservatives only when it is beneficial and when conservative votes are needed.

They have no strong conservative convictions.
The best that can be said about these two, Bush and Romney, (and joined by Chris Christy) is that they split the left-of-center Republican vote in the primaries allowing a strong conservative to emerge as the GOP’s nominee…

No Endorsement for 2016 Reelection of U.S. Senator Rob Portman (RINO-OH), Who Dissed Marriage and Family!

Portman Disses Marriage and Family

I concur completely with the pro-life, pro-family Cleveland Right to Life organization's Press Release issued today regarding the withholding of any endorsement of the reelection of United States Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) by any and all principled conservative politicians. Portman by his action agrees with the radical and decadent homosexual agenda by recognizing and supporting same-sex 'marriage.' This great compromise brings him into the camp of the most radical and extremist Democrat or leftist. As the press release below indicates, he now essentially rejects the traditional definition and institution of marriage and subsequently the God-ordained family unit.

This egregious change or compromise of his apparent convictions and Republican Platform by Senator Portman should not be taken lightly by any real conservative or any true follower of Jesus Christ. It violates the basic tenets of orthodox Judaism, Christianity and even other religious systems of belief. In other words, it is worldly, secular, godless and hellish.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Endorsing Senator Portman Will Cost Conservative Politicians Votes in 2016
Republican base in Ohio places the right to life and marriage between a man and woman as their core belief
CLEVELAND, OH, January 8th 2015 -

In response to a newsletter received today from Senator Rob Portman announcing his Ohio endorsements in his bid for re-election in 2016, Molly Smith, President of Cleveland Right to Life had this to say "My advice to any true conservative officer holder is to say NO on principle, right up front, due to Portman's choice to go against the GOP national pro-marriage platform.  Remember, the marriage issue is one of the "big two" for social conservatives." Smith encouraged those who are receiving "endorsement" calls from Senator Portman's office to consider before they endorse, that they will find themselves on the opposing team from all conservative groups if a viable challenger jumps in the race.  "You don't need to pick up Portman's baggage." she continued.

In 2013 Cleveland Right to Life announced they could no longer support  Portman  because of his flip-flop on one of the fundamental tenets of their mission. They received national support for their stand that pointed out that the right to life and the right for each child to grow up in a stable environment with their mother and father are two book-ends of the same issue.  Many other Right to Life groups in the state joined them in support.

"When Senator Portman announced that he was abandoning his support for traditional marriage he also abandoned his right to support from the prolife voter." said Smith.

Smith has asked the prolife base to call their representative  and senators to express concern about endorsing a candidate whose position violates a core Christian principle. She asked members to remind their representative that endorsements matter and theirs will have consequence.  She also noted that State Representatives have contacted prolife groups to go on record with their decision NOT to endorse Senator Portman.  One such State Representative stated " there are certain lines that must never be crossed and crossing natural law created by God are those types of lines"

"Republican Politicians must remember that they are elected by the people and not by party insiders.  It would be good to remind ourselves as well as our representatives that we are not called to be successful but rather we are called only to be faithful to God" concluded Smith.

The Virgin Birth, True or False?

Even at, and maybe especially at Christmastime the anti-Christians are on the attack. One example of this obvious and intense hatred is the www.AlterNet.org article by Valarie Tarico, "Not-So-Virgin Birth: Why Stories of Jesus Became More Magical Over Time."

I recently posted my comment to the article:
AlterNet:  Attempting to destroy the truth one lie at a time:  “… these auspicious infancy (about the virgin birth of Jesus) stories are never referenced elsewhere in the New Testament, for example in the letters of Paul or in the other two gospels that made their way into the Christian Bible.”
The thing that the progressive leftists, atheists, and secular humanists refuse to recognize about the Judeo-Christian Bible, unlike the sacred writings of other so-called faiths, is that it is inspired by God, Himself.
The only defense as to the veracity of the biblical account of Jesus’ virgin birth that I’ll offer is that which is stated by the Bible itself where Paul writes, “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” --- 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

Pushing a Poisonous Progressive Agenda

Winning at all Costs with Lies, Deceit, and Lawlessness

Mr. Barack Obama in cahoots with his comrades in Congress, including their compromising RINO colleagues spearheaded by Mr. Speaker, and with the mid-term election behind them, is now free to move uninhibitedly on an extremist liberal action plan for America.

Following the hollowed “success” of the Affordable Care Act, here is what has happened just since the election, here’s what the President is doing on his own along with his progressive playmates in Congress.

·         Pressing forward with an unlawful, unconstitutional executive amnesty order

·         Warming up to the Cuban dictatorship [while increasingly freezing our relationship with our best friends in the Middle East, Israel)

·         Naming of an amnesty-approving head of the Department of Justice

·         Naming a soap opera star (and major Obama donor) appointed to  an important central European ambassadorship

·         Naming of a staunch pro-ObamaCare and gun-control advocate as Surgeon General

·         Nominating  Matthew “Benghazi was a Hoax” Butler for a seat on the four-person U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). For years, as CEO Mr. Butler led George Soros bankrolled Media Matters in their relentless quest to damage the pro-liberty movement by spreading false information about targeted organizations including True The Vote...

I will be watching, tracking, and adding to this list that assures the continual and incremental destruction of our nation. With tepid opposition expected from the bashful traitor John Boehner and his kissing cousin Mitch McConnell “led” House and Senate, respectively, all we can do is work and pray for a change in leadership or a change in heart of the current leadership. Right now it’s Washington versus America, and Washington is winning…

Is a Classic Battle Brewing for 2016, Warren v. Cruz?

It seems that the strongest base of support on the Left and on the Right is rallying around two true believers in their respective ideologies. Which way would America choose if she was given two “pure” choices instead of the pretend politicians who strive to be everything to everybody, but stand for nothing? What does Hilary bring to the table? She brings a boatload of baggage beginning with her handling of Benghazi, the BenghaziGate scandal. Who can forget those infamous words, “What difference does it make?” It makes very big differences, Mrs. Rodham-Clinton, a very big difference. And what if the GOP produces another McCain, Romney, or Bush who merely mouth conservative and Republican platform ideas, but once challenged back off quicker than a roach when it sees a can of Raid coming its way? I didn’t really mean to insult cockroaches by comparing them to RINOs.

We need a fair fight of ideologies. If the Americans are once again hoodwinked by the Democrats or if they allow the Republicans to nominate another unprincipled Democrat-lite candidate, then we deserve to lose our country.

What I would be anxious to see would be legitimate battle between the fake Indian, Elizabeth Warren, versus the real Texan, Ted Cruz. It would be a real dramatic and vicious dogma fight. It would be a battle between

·         Radical Liberalism versus Patriotic Conservativism

·         Wrong versus Right

·         Evil or bad policies versus moral or good policies

·         Pink versus Red, White, and Blue

Let the electioneering begin!

Making the Best of the CRomnibus Spending Bill Fiasco, A Tea Party Perspective

While we are right to be frustrated, and even angry, about the votes people we elected cast in the House and the Senate on the Cromnibus bill, AND the National Defense Authorization Act, it is critical that we accept that this is NOT the new Congress we elected in November. This is essentially the Congress we elected in 2010 which is still a minority in the Senate.

That being said, did we really expected them to vote any differently? Have we not been saying for over a year that we will not get the governance we seek, until we have people in those chairs casting the vote who share our values and principles?  Well a lot more of the people who share our values and principles will be taking those seats come January. Which is precisely, in my opinion, why John Boehner and Mitch McConnell were so anxious to move this bill now. All of us in Ohio owe Congressman Jim Jordan and Senator Rob Portman a thank you for going against their leadership and voting NO on the bill. Please let them know you appreciate their vote.

Now, the rest of the Ohio Republican Congressional contingent voted for the bill. They are assuring us, that "this deal is the best deal we could get" and that if we waited until January when the new Congress came in that we would not be able to get as good a deal even with 57 Senators and 239 House Members. Which I assume has to do with President Obama using his veto pen. They also are assuring us that they will still be able to stop the illegal-immigrant amnesty because of the HSA Continuing Resolution that ends in February. They are telling us that they will get rid of the medical device tax and will remove the employer mandate in Obamacare and will not provide the bailouts for Insurance Companies provided in Obamacare. All of which will kill Obamacare. We will see and we hope they are right.

They, the Republican's in Congress, and we, the conservative movement, both understand that actions will speak louder than words over the next two years. If we do not see action to stop the Obama agenda on all fronts, then we will not win the Presidency in 2016 and we will lose the Senate back to the Democrats. That is what the November election was all about - total rejection of the Obama agenda. We have given them the tools to do the job, now do the job.

Yes, we understand that President Obama will use his veto power, but his Democratic base is abandoning him as their losses mount, and we can overcome some of those vetoes depending on the issue. Mostly we must show an alternative plan to the "Nanny State" implemented by Obama and his radical regressive leftist comrades. A plan that shows how individual freedom and liberty beats state control, and creates more jobs and more prosperity for all citizens. The ball is now in our court and the future of the nation is in the balance.

Now, let me end on a positive note. First, below I highlight some things that are in the CRomnibus bill that you might like and might surprises you. Did you know that it takes away all federal spending for Common Core!!  That it removes the ban on incandescent light bulbs!!! (God only knows what things are in the Cromnibus that we don't know about because NO ONE HAD TIME TO READ IT BEFORE VOTING ON IT! But I digress . . .) Second, on my radio show next week, www.TEAPartyTalkwithTomZ.com, I will remind all of us about the amazing accomplishments we have achieved in just five years that even our most active members may have forgotten. We always talk about what is going wrong, but it is time to get some perspective and focus on some of the positives! I will do that next Wednesday. Please tune in and get a well-deserved year end pick me up!

Things in the Cromnibus you might like!

ABORTION: The bill once again bans using federal funding to perform most abortions; blocks the use of local and federal funding for abortions in the District of Columbia; and blocks the use of federal dollars for abortions for federal prisoners. Republicans say that there's also new language directing the secretary of health and human services to ensure that consumers shopping for health-care coverage on the federal exchange can tell whether a plan covers abortion services.

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT: The law is still funded, but there's no new money for it. There's also no new ACA-related funding for the Internal Revenue Service and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the two agencies most responsible for implementing the law. The bill also would cut the budget of the Independent Payment Advisory Board -- what Republicans have called "the death panel" -- by $10 million.

AFGHANISTAN: Congress withholds funding for the Afghan government "until certain conditions are met," including implementing the bilateral security agreement reached with the United States.

CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL: The agency would get more than $6.9 billion, an increase of about $42.7 million. The nation's leading disease-fighters also get $30 million to help fight Ebola (see below).

CLEAN WATER ACT: In a win for Republicans, the spending bill blocks the Environmental Protection Agency from applying the law to certain farm ponds and irrigation ditches -- a move that GOP aides said would benefit farmers.

EBOLA: Roughly $5.4 billion is provided across several agencies to combat the spread of the disease in the United States and around the world. The amount is less than the $6 billion Obama requested.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY: The agency gets $8.1 billion, down $60 million from the last fiscal year. The agency's budget has been slashed by $2.2 billion, or 21 percent, since fiscal 2010, according to GOP aides. The cuts mean that EPA will have to reduce its staffing to the lowest levels since 1989.

FEDERAL WORKER PAY (AND CONFERENCES): The bill allows a 1 percent pay raise ordered by Obama to take effect in January. And the legacy of embarrassing spending scandals at federal agencies persist as Congress once again banned or put limits on certain conferences, official travel and some employee awards.

GUANTANAMO BAY: Once again the Obama administration is banned from transferring terrorism detainees to the United States from the U.S. military facility in Cuba. There's also a ban on building or buying any facility in the U.S. to house detainees. But the bill allows for the ongoing transfer of detainees to other countries.

IMMIGRATION: The bill only funds the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees most immigration policy, until February. But negotiators gave new money for immigration programs at other federal agencies. There's $948 million for the Department of Health and Human Service's unaccompanied children program -- an $80 million increase. The program provides health and education services to the young migrants. The department also gets $14 million to help school districts absorbing new immigrant students. And the State Department would get $260 million to assist Central American countries from where of the immigrant children are coming.

INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE: One of the GOP's favorite targets will see its budget slashed by $345.6 million. The nation’s tax agency also would be banned from targeting organizations seeking tax-exempt status based on their ideological beliefs.

LIBYA: The troubled country cannot receive any U.S. aid until the secretary of state confirms the country is cooperating with ongoing investigations into the September 2012 attack at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

LIGHT BULBS: The bill once again prohibits new standards that would ban the use of cheaper, less energy efficient incandescent bulbs. The proposal was first introduced and set in motion by the Bush administration, but the Obama White House allowed the change to continue, despite sustained consumer demand for older bulbs.

NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH: The nation's premier medical research agency would receive $30.3 billion, a $150 million overall increase. Democrats noted that the new funding helps especially for ongoing Alzheimer's and brain research programs.

OFFICIAL PORTRAITS: You’re a government official and want an official portrait? You'll have to pay for it (or raise the funds). The bill bans taxpayer funding for official portraits of any Executive Branch employees, lawmakers and heads of legislative agencies.

PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY: The bill stops assistance to the Palestinian Authority if it becomes a member of the United Nations or UN agencies without an agreement with Israel. It also prohibits funds for Hamas.

PENSIONS: For the first time, the benefits of current retirees could be severely cut, part of an effort to save some of the nation’s most distressed pension plans. The change would alter 40 years of federal law and could affect millions of workers; many of them part of a shrinking corps of middle-income employees in businesses such as trucking, construction and supermarkets. Read more on this here.

RACE TO THE TOP: The bill cuts funding for Obama's signature education initiative -- a big blow to his education legacy, according to The Post's Valerie Strauss. Overall, the Education Department would take a slight hit in funding; at $70.5 billion, down $133 million below the fiscal year 2014, but special education grants to states would get $25 million more than last year, up to $11.5 billion. There is also no funding for the controversial Common Core State Standards in this legislation.

SAGE-GROUSE: In a victory for the GOP, the bill would ban the Fish and Wildlife Service from adding the rare bird found in several Western states to the Endangered Species List. Republicans argue that adding the bird to the list "would have severe economic consequences on Western states and the nation’s efforts to become energy independent." But there's also $15 million for the Bureau of Land Management to conserve sage-grouse habitats.

SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM: The school lunch nutritional changes sought by First Lady Michelle Obama take a hit. The bill allows more flexibility to school districts to implement new whole grain nutrition standards "if the school can demonstrate a hardship" when buying whole grain products, according to Republicans. The bill also relaxes new sodium standards until they are "supported by additional scientific studies."

UNITED NATIONS: The perennial ban on providing money for the ongoing renovation of U.N. Headquarters in New York remains intact.

VETERANS: After a year of embarrassing scandals at the sprawling Department of Veterans Affairs, lawmakers are making good on promises to provide more money and oversight. There's a total of $159.1 billion in discretionary and mandatory spending. Of that, $209 million was added to address new costs related to the bipartisan veterans' reform bill passed last summer. The legislation calls for adding medical staff and expanding dozens of facilities. In order to specifically addressing the "wait list" scandal, the VA's inspector general is getting a $5 million budget increase to continue investigating lapses in patient care.

WHISTLEBLOWERS: The bill includes language ensuring that government contractors are not barred from reporting allegations of waste, fraud or abuse if they sign a confidentiality agreement. And the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would receive a $500,000 increase for its enforcement of existing whistleblower laws.

Tom tries to see some positive aspects of the overwhelmingly negative and hurtful spending bill. Gutless GOP leadership let down their conservative base once again. Will they ever stand up to the President and stand for the People, instead of themselves and their special interest lobbyists?
