MLK’s Niece: De-Fund Planned Parenthood

Evidence of Planned Parenthood Targeting Minorities

A study was conducted by Students for Life of America (SFLA) on the background of Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, and how her views continue to saturate the organization today, which has led to a process of targeting minorities for abortion services. Data was collected from various organizations including the Alan Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

MAIN FINDINGS OF SFLA REPORT

*** Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger, a woman who had clear and forceful hatred towards minorities and her views continue to infiltrate the organization to this day.

*** African-Americans have a disproportionate number of abortions according to their population in the United States.

*** African-American women are 4.8 times as likely as non-Hispanic white women to have an abortion and the African-American population is the only population in the country that is in decline.

*** Planned Parenthood faces criminal charges and other serious allegations across the nation yet last year they received $336 million in taxpayer dollars.
“ . . . African-Americans make up 17 percent of live births and they are having 36 percent of abortions in the U.S. With this devastating number of abortions, the result is a 50 percent decrease in overall African-American population in the United States . . .”

A MATTER OF CIVIL RIGHTS

LifeNews.com
reported this week that Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., responded to this new Students for Life for America (SFLA) saying, “The Students for Life report on Planned Parenthood’s targeting of African Americans for abortion spells out why taxpayers should not be forced to contribute to that organization. The government should not be subsidizing racism, but that’s exactly what it’s doing through Planned Parenthood.” Dr. Alveda King also said, “Defending human life is part of the civil rights struggle and I and my fellow pro-life African American leaders are not going away.”

A child’s right to life is truly a basic civil rights issue. There is no comparison to the misuse and misappropriations of the civil rights banner by homosexuals to justify and legitimize their immoral behavior. To equate the homosexual “cause” with either the civil rights movement regarding blacks or babies is grossly insulting to both groups and to humanity in general.
