I had the great privilege to hear 'the rest of the story’ about Islam from a former radical islamic fundamentalist political leader and trainer on Saturday morning at a local school. On Thanksgiving Eve I had heard Dr. Daniel Shayesteh speak at a local church. See last Friday and Saturday’s postings.
Dr. Shayesteh was born in Iran. He became a radical Islamic fundamentalist and helped usher in Ayatollah Khomeini’s regime in 1979. After his initial elation with Khomeini rise to power in Iran, Daniel, within a couple of years, became disenchanted with Khomenini.
It seems that once Khomeini was in power he reneged on his promised political reforms, including promises of freedom and more democracy. It took this radical fundamentalist two years to “see” how he was fooled by this religious-political leader. Daniel then joined the political opposition and was pursued as the enemy by the Islamic regime.
Daniel eventually escaped Iran, went to Turkey. While in Turkey he met a group of Iranian Christians and evetually became a born-again Christian. He and his family eventually emigrated and settled down under in Australia. He was to have returned today to Australia after visiting the U.S. for several months.
Some of the truths I learned from this convert-to-Christianity were:
· Islam is a really a religion of hatred, cruelty and anger.
· The god of Islam is cruel and impersonal.
· Women are treated as domestic animals under Islam (but without PETA advocacy)
· The Koran is filled with hatred for infidels, idolaters, pagans, and unbelievers (translated: Jews, Americans, moderate Muslims, and all other non-Islamic fundamentalists).
· Islam has done a good job of concealing its real intent, that of world domination. America is a restraining force against Islam.
· Muslims will turn on their “friends”. Watch out for Saudi Arabia.
· Saudi Arabia has tremendous influence in America using its great wealth to influence Americans to be more “understanding”, ”tolerant” and friendly toward Islam, all the while getting ready to blow us to kingdom come.
· We must know the Bible, study it and live it. The Bible is the bottom line source for of America’s, and much of the rest of the West’s, freedom. Daniel pointed out that we are turning our back on the very thing that gave us our freedoms – God and the Judeo-Christian Bible and the truth and principles it contains.
We have much to learn from this fundamentalist Moslem turned fundamentalist Christian. You can read more about him and order his books on his website, Exodus from Darkness.
