Catching Mitt’s Error

When Mitt Romney declared his candidacy for the Presidency he said he believed every person to be a “child of God”. This is a declaration of ignorance showing he does not know God’s Word and is probably not a true Christian. Mormonism, itself, is a non-Christian belief system. If he were a child of God and if he knew God’s Word he would know that what he believes is false.

Jesus said of the Scribes and Pharisees, who were the religious leaders of His day, and who claimed Abraham as their father, that they were of their father – the devil. Pretty harsh words, the truth, aye?

Jesus gives the parable of a man who sowed good seed in his field. The enemy came along and sows bad seed. The good seed produced wheat which symbolizes the children of God in this world. The bad seed produced tares that looked like wheat, but actually is not. The tares are the children of Satan. A person is either a child of God or a child of Satan.

God said, “I will put hatred between the woman’s seed and the seed of the serpent. The seed of Eve are God’s children and the seed of the serpent are Satan’s children. We can see this worked out in the Biblical account of Cain and Able. Cain, it is written was of the wicked one. Even though both Abel and Cain were biologically the sons of Eve and Adam, Cain was still the child of Satan, while Abel was a child of God. Who’s your daddy, reader?

If you realize you are not a child of God and would like to be one, you can become one. Jesus, who is the Lord of Hosts, came to earth, and was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life though He was tempted in all things, just as you and I are. He was declared guilty of being King of the Jews. A distinction Rome had not conferred on Him. This, He was crucified as a criminal. On the cross He willingly took into His own body all the sins of the world (all of mankind) that would ever be committed. God the Father forsook His only begotten Son and at that precise moment in time darkness covered the earth. In this way He literally tasted death for every individual. When the sin was gone He declared, “It is finished.” Then He said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit, and He then voluntarily gave up His spirit and experienced death physically. Three days later He arose from the dead.

God, in this way, purchased the right to forgive you of your sins. You need to acknowledge or agree with God that you are a sinner. Then you need to ask for forgiveness and consciously and sincerely personally invite Jesus into your heart, the very innermost center of your being. Jesus promised to come into them who ask for Him. Those who do not receive Jesus into their heart remain in their sins and the wrath of God abides or continues on them. A sample prayer is, “Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my evil and come into my heart. Why not pray this prayer today?
