The Great Campaigner Still on His Taxpayer-Funded Midwest Magical Misery Bus Tour

Besides the “Midwest Magical Misery Bus,” names for the Obama bus include “Economic Distress Express” which was offered the other day by one viewer of Fox and Friends morning TV show. Another is "Highway Jobbery." Personally, I like "The Debt-End Tour Bus." See the tweet below for another name.

Hat tip goes to @TheHenry who just tweeted the following?

Good one! @MonicaCrowley on O'Reilly: "One Nation Under the Bus Tour." Re: Obama bus tour.

Obama is campaigning, something he does well above everything else.
Elections do have very serious consequences. In November 2008 a majority of voters, living and dead in many cases, gave the keys to the bus to Barack Hussein Obama. Whether he even had a license to drive remains a question mark. He subsequently did exactly what we knew he would do, and what all “good” socialists/Marxists do.  They grow government, spend money, and wrest liberty from the people. What we now have here in America is a form of what some have termed soft tyranny.
President Obama has been literally and figuratively throwing America under the bus for the past three years. America is the bus. The Obama regime’s focused and radical socialist/Marxist agenda is what currently fuels the bus. We need to return the power to the people.
The bus needs to be run by founding principles and values of our Founders, not by those of Marx, Keynes or FDR. That is why it is so important to elect an authentic anti-establishment conservative Republican like Michele Bachmann to stop the speeding out-of-control bus, which is headed for oblivion with 330 million onboard. The bus needs be repaired using the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution as the guide.

The Five Key Bad Economic Indicators

Cartoon by Michael Rameriz as found on the CarrollStandard.com 8/15/2011

I
.
would add Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to the bad economic indicator lineup portrayed in the cartoon above. Why? They, too, are bad economic indicators because of the atrocious debt deal to which they succumbed! They should have held fast to the Cut, Cap and Balance legislation or to Rep. Connie Mack's Penny Plan, which REALLY cuts spending ... Instead, they chose to continue to play backroom Washington politics, Washington business as usual. We can no longer tolerate this. i guess we will have to show them all again in May and November of 2012 that We the People are in charge and want real change (not rhetorical hope and change) and we mean business ...
.
The Super Congressional Deficit Enabling and Expansion Commission is not only a very bad joke. More than that it is a clear demonstration of the ineptness of both the Republican and Democratic Party leaders in having a clear vision and approach in dealing with the real problem in Wasting-a-ton, D.C. and that is SPENDING WITH A CAPITAL

Who Won the Iowa Straw Poll?

When the results of the Iowa Straw Poll were announced in early evening on Saturday Michele Bachmann won it all. Ron Paul finished a close second.

Santorum, Cain, McCotter, Bachmann, Pawlenty, and Paul all gave speeches in Iowa this afternoon. I think Rick Santorum gave the best speech. He was passionate. He has worked hard in Iowa and in other states. Too bad he does not have much of a chance. Likewise Herman Cain gave a strong stump speech, but he too is an also ran. Bachmann immerges as the cream of the crop of candidates. She is a strong, principled conservative, more than any of the others besides Ron Paul.I would expect the bottom three finishers to drop out of the race.

Iowa Straw Poll Results:

1. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (4823, 28.55%)

2. Congressman Ron Paul (4671, 27.65%)

3. Governor Tim Pawlenty (2293, 13.57%)

4. Senator Rick Santorum (1657, 9.81%)

5. Herman Cain (1456, 8.62%)

6. Governor Rick Perry (718, 3.62%) write-in

7. Governor Mitt Romney (567, 3.36%)

8. Speaker Newt Gingrich (385, 2.28%)

9. Governor Jon Huntsman (69, 0.41%)

10. Congressman Thad McCotter (35, 0.21%)

The Iowa GOP Debate: No Winner, Huntsman is loser

Eight candidates showed up in Iowa on Thursday night, 8/11/2011, for the third Presidential debate of this campaign season. Missing in action were both Governor Gary Johnson, who participated in the New Hampshire GOP debate, and newly announced candidate Rep. Thaddeus McCotter.  McCotter apparently did not meet the registration deadline. I would have liked to see him participate.   Gov. Johnson apparently did not make the cut because he lacked sufficient support. An appropriate substitute For Johnson was the equally undesirable candidate Governor Jon Huntsman.

There was no clear winner in the debate.
Michele Bachmann, Ron Paul, and Newt Gingrich performed the best. They gave the best responses.

Michele Bachmann held her own during the debate. She did well in her confrontations with Tim Pawlenty. However, she was not as endearing as she was in New Hampshire, but overall she represented herself and her positions passionately and clearly. Her stands on the key Conservative issues in the House of Representatives showed her willingness to tackle hard positions and stick to core principles. This demonstrates leadership.

Ron Paul remains a strong candidate and has influenced other candidates, who seem to be coming around to some of his long standing positions on foreign entanglements and also on his ideas regarding the economy.

Unfortunately Newt Gingrich is a terribly flawed as a candidate, because he is a phony conservative. He is the brightest and well-rounded intellectually,  and even acted presidential. But, like Romney, you don’t get what you see.

Tim Pawlenty was present, but his desperate attack on Bachmann demeaned him. Michele Bachmann exposed his weaknesses during his service as governor.
Herman Cain was nearly invisible.  He had a few good remarks, but he got lost in the forest of other so-so candidates.

Rick Santorum was the strongest on social issues of abortion and marriage, but the debate format frustrated him and it showed. A president has a lot of pressure on him, much greater than any debate.

Mitt Romney, another faux conservative, played it safe and let the other candidates fight it out among themselves. He talks leadership, but like Barack Obama shows none. He is the GOP establishment’s choice and will be hard to overcome, despite is obvious drawbacks.

Jon Huntsman should quit, or should run in the Democratic Primary against the President. He did a good job imitating Gov. Gary Johnson, who did poorly in the New Hampshire debate.

As others have said, the “winner” of the debate may have been Governor Rick Perry or maybe even Governor Sarah Palin. Really, with the exception of Newt Gingrich, who I think did the best in the debate per se, there was no outstanding winner present. The obvious loser was Jon Huntsman, whose views are out of the mainstream of even the current generally accepted Republican form of “conservatism.”

I predict that the top three finishers in today’s Iowa Straw Poll will be:

1 – Michele Bachmann
2 – Ron Paul
3 - Tim Pawlenty

Presidential Debate in Iowa

The Federal Government Has Been Distributing Marijuana for 36 Years

Rick Perry Is Being Groomed to Be the Next President by New World Order

All the evangelicals are swooning over Rick Perry just because he said a few religious words.  Mark my words, he is the establishment candidate.  He is the next Barack Obama.  He is the one to beat.  He supports the NAFTA super-highway and forcing young girls to get vaccinated against sexually transmitted diseases.  He does nothing while Mexican drug gangs come and go across the border and murder police officers.  A former Democrat, he was the Texas state campaign chairman to elect Al Gore in 1988.  Whenever "Slick Rick" Perry is confronted with an issue (like blocking the very popular anti-groping law), he claims that he agrees with you, but then claims ignorance and blames someone else.  He is a liar.  He is the one you need to convince your friends NOT to vote for (this is imperative!) along with pretenders like Cain, Santorum, and Pawlenty.  Mark my words, Mitt Romney is not "the one".  He will fade into obscurity or drop out near the end like last time.  For more of Rick Perry's dirty tricks, see my earlier post in support of another Republican who ran against him for governor.

Why all the Tea Party Bashing?

I was somewhat surprised to read on the editorial page today of my local paper, the Mansfield, Ohio News-Journal this headline, “Tea party showed no honor in debt debate.” I read the editorial and was alarmed.  It is an example of extreme bias, misrepresentation, propaganda, and malpractice by the leftist media. The Decatur (Alabama) Daily editorial stated in part:

Members and front organizations must continually embarrass, discredit and degrade our critics… When obstructionists become too irritating, label them as fascists or Nozi or anti-Semitic… Constantly associate those who oppose us with those names that already have a bad smell. The association will, after enough repetition, become “fact” in the public mind.

What? This editorial blames the Tea Party Members of Congress for harming the United States by their insistence in immediate and significant spending cuts in government spending? The Tea Party is being maligned for wanting to address the real problem of excessive, wasteful government spending and not the invented debt default “crisis,” which served only to advance President Barack Obama's and Democratic radical socialist agenda. The constitutional conservatives in Congress wanted a Cut, Cap and Balance Bill, but what they got was an unacceptable compromise. The resulting compromise was insufficient to ward off the credit downgrade.

Interestingly, the Tea Party Congressional Members and the Tea Party Movement, itself, have been labeled by the Left as extremists, racists, terrorists, subversives, Nazis, fanatics, and radicals throughout the debt ceiling debate. This is being done to marginalize and to try to minimize the growing strength and influence of the Tea Party on the political scene and in the popular culture.

This tactic employed by the Left including the President and Democratic elite inside and outside of Washington, D.C. It was used in the 1960s against the John Birch Society. They, too, were called the same names as the Tea Party is being called. There is a common source for this tactic and it can be found in a U.S. Communist Party directive from 1943. Here is a quote from that directive:

The tea party’s negotiating success is a direct result of it being more willing than its opponents to harm the United States. Reasonable politicians from both parties have backed down not because they were wowed by the tea party logic, but because they were unwilling to permanently damage the nation they gave an oath to serve.

That is why patriots and patriotic organizations such as Michele Bachmann, Tea Party Members of Congress, Tea Party participants, the John Birch Society, etc. are being relentlessly being attacked in the Leftist media and by Leftist politicians. It is part of the enemies playbook that has been used for over 60 years.

Congressional Criminal Flash Mob

Flash Mob
A flash mob (or flashmob) is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire. --- Wikipedia
Like the whirlwind passage of the frenetic farce called ObamaCare, the equally farcical and so-called default-avoiding Debt Increase "Deal" foisted upon America was the work of another Congressional Criminal Flash Mob. This time lead by Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Leader Harry Reid. Is it just a part of the crime wave fad sweeping America?

The Whole Armor of God, Part14D

Today I conclude my series of articles commenting on the concepts and principles involved in the Armor of God, which the Apostle Paul described in the New Testament. This is the topic of the Sunday school lesson, which I am currently teaching.

The power of His might.

As children of God our confidence is not self-confidence, but rather confidence in God. We trust that God is working in us, through us, and around us for our good. This is why the Psalmist can write, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ” (Psalm 27:1). Without our realizing it, God works through the children of God to perform what any particular individual child of God has faith in God to accomplish. It seems like when we are doing the tasks at hand, which we have to do, but in reality it is actually God supplying the strength and ability to accomplish any task.
We are given promises by God which allows us to become partakers of His divine power.

II Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The first promise of course is salvation.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
We have the promise that God will not leave us.

Hebrews 13:5c I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
We have the promise of cleansing and forgiveness if we sin after receiving Christ.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We can go to God with any care or problem that we have.

I Peter 5:5c, 6, 7 God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
We have healing of our bodies through Jesus Christ
I Peter 2:24c … by whose stripes ye were healed.
We have been given power and authority over demons and diseases.

Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
Our names are written in heaven.

Luke 10:17-20 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The apostolic authority extends to each believer to this day.

Matthew 28:18, 19, 20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
.
One who is born-again becomes a part of the Body of Jesus Christ (His Church) and now has the right to exercise the power of God in Jesus' name. If yoU want to be a part of the Body of Christ, then you can do so by repenting of your sins and by inviting Him into your life. A sample prayer that you can use is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my sins and come into my heart.”

Is Black Monday on the Horizon?

Hat tip to Anthony Martin, for his article, “Ahead--BlackMonday, 2011?" In the Conservative Examiner.

Barack Obama, John Boehner, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, and Nancy Pelosi you own the debt downgrade debacle. Now you must wear it. Now you must fix it without more taxes ... You are all Beltway Addicts addicted to SPENDING. You need a major intervention. One such intervention will be the elections in May and November 2012. You are warned ...

Furthermore, this Deficit and Debt is not a Lack-of-Tax problem it is an OVER-SPENDING problem. You spend money you do not have. You are spending on things that we do not need. You continue to borrow beyond our means.

Budget 101:

If we have 2.4 T in Income

if we spend 3.8 T

Then we have a Deficit or Shortfall of 1.4 T

What about this picture do you Mr. President, John Boehner, Harry Reid and the rest of Congress not understand? Simply, our expenditures should be limited by our income. Respectfully, I ask are you all smarter than a fifth grader? I sure doesn't seem like you are based on your actions ...

Please Sign "The One Cent Solution" Petition

One of the more meaningful and sensible and practical approaches to limiting the debt, which is even better than the Cut, Cap and Balance Plan rejected without discussion or consideration by Harry Reid's Democrat controlled Senate is Representative Connie Mack's Penny Plan. In the Senate Sen. Rand Paul and others have sponsored the bill in the Senate. It is too simple straightforward and meaningful for the establishment to deal with apparently. They chose the worthless, meaningless and pitiful Obama-Boehner-Reid-Mitchell Debt Increase Bill instead.

The Once Cent Solution

We are calling on Congress to adopt the One Percent Spending Reduction Act of 2011 (H.R. 1848/S. 1316) and reduce overall federal spending by 1% per year — one cent for every dollar it spends — for the next six years. By enacting this legislation, Congress can:
  • Balance the budget by 2019
  • Reduce federal spending by $7.5 trillion over 10 years
  • Reduce the debt by $3.4 trillion over 10 years
You can sign this petition and learn more about it here.

Steve Chabot's Votes to Raise the Debt Ceiling

My alleged congressman, Steve Chabot explained why he voted for raising the debt ceiling and creating a “Super Congress”.  Chabot points out that the “drop-dead date” was set by Timothy Geithner.  (So you believed him?)  Chabot said that Obama did not get anything close to what he had wanted.  Oh, really?  He claims that this bill was “based upon the principles of Cut, Cap, and Balance”.  Then he explains the differences.  (I would point out that even Cut, Cap, and Balance is unacceptable because it merely tinkers with budget, and does not contain any guaranteed, substantial cuts enough to really balance the budget.)  Under the bill that passed, the Balanced Budget Amendment vote will occur after the debt ceiling is increased.  So there is no guarantee at all that the flawed Balanced Budget Amendment will be voted on, much less passed.  Like the Amendment itself, it’s just another promise which can be broken.  (So this is exactly what Obama would want.)   He explains that the cuts would be over the next 10 years and that there would no guarantee that they would actually happen.  Again, this is another promise which can be broken.  I doubt that these "cuts" are anything but cuts in proposed increases in spending, not actually cutting current levels of spending.  (So this is exactly what Obama would want.)  He talks about the unconstitutional “Super Congress” as if it was a good thing, but it is yet another step toward concentration of power into the hands of a few.  Again, this is NOT a good thing, Mr. Chabot. (It's exactly what Obama would want.)  “I came to the conclusion that it was probably the best we could get,” he said.  You may have gotten something out this bill, but “we” didn’t!  No real cuts, no balanced budget, only more promises and more centralization of power in Washington.

Help Update the Human Subjects Regulations

For years our government has treated human beings like guinea pigs, exposing them to unhealthy chemicals and radiation.  Now they are murdering the tiniest of human beings, human embryos.  Federal funding for scientific research is unconstitutional except for purposes of National Defense.  Make your voice heard!
From the National Institutes of Health:
Ensuring that individuals are protected when they participate as research subjects is vital to maintaining the public’s trust in the research we support. This week, the Department of Health and Human Services published a notice announcing that the federal government is considering ways to enhance the regulations that deal with the protection of human research subjects.

The Crash Dummies and the American Economy

Obama, Boehner, McConnell, and Reid are driving the American Economy car, floored and headed straight for the cliff to join grandma ... Who do they think they are? Crash Dummies? I did not mean to besmirch the Crash Dummies.

The Debt "Deal" did nothing for the economy or to cut government overspending. The so-called agreed to "cuts" are meaningless and will never happen. The "leaders" have just succeeded only to boot the can further down the road  ...

I understand that the base line increase in the FY 2012 budget will be reduced by only $7 Billion. Only in Wasting-a-ton, D.C. could that be considered a draconian cut by the likes of smiling Chuck Shumer and the vile Debbie Wasserman Schultz!

Few Congressional Leaders Resist Business As Usual

The U.S. Senate, unfortunately, passed the explosive Expanding-the-Debt Bill. It was beyond flawed, it embeds the status quo and mediocracy into law. Painfully, I have been following on CSpan much of the workings (or misfirings) of Congress the past 96 hours. It has been a very stress filled undertaking and in some ways, I'm looking forward to get back to work from my vacation.

Here is how my two Ohio Senators voted. Rob Portman seems to be following in the RINO ever-wavering footsteps of his predecessor George Voinovich.
.
VOTING YES TO MORE DEBT, NO TO FISCAL RESPONSIBLITY:.

· Sherrod Brown (D)
.
· Rob Portman (RINO)
Shamefully, there were 28 members of the GOP who voted “Yes” for this bill to bless the increase of the debt with no real substantive spending cuts. .
.
VOTING NO TO DEBT, YES TO FISCAL RESPONSIBLITY:

The following 19 people, for the most part see the great shortcomings of the bill and voted NO.

· Kelly Ayotte
· Saxby Chambliss
· Daniel Coats
· Tom Coburn
· Jim DeMint
· Lindsey Graham
· Charles E. Grassley
· Orrin G. Hatch
· Dean Heller
· James M. Inhofe
· Ron Johnson
· Mike Lee
· Rand Paul
· Marco Rubio
· Jeff Sessions
· Richard C. Shelby
· Patrick J. Toomey
· David Vitter

  '
Among these 19 there is a core of statesmen (and woman) leaders upon who the Tea Party Movement can build on and rely on in preparing for the next election cycle. As the actions of the House and Senate indicate this week we do need a much greater number of constitutional conservatives in Congress if we expect to see real change take place. We must rid Congress of the faux conservatives like Speaker John Boehner and Mitch McConnell who disgrace conservative principles and use the Tea Party activist gain power and then ignore them to maintain business as usual.

Rand Paul: Why I Oppose the Debt Ceiling Compromise

Hat tip goes to Rush Limbaugh who quoted from Senator Rand Paul’s open letter on Rush’s show this afternoon. Here is the Senator Rand’s letter regarding the just passed Obama-Boehner-Reid debt ceiling increase bill..

Aug 1, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today Sen. Rand Paul issued an open letter on the subject of the debt ceiling compromise facing the Senate. Below is that letter.

To paraphrase Senator Jim DeMint: When you're speeding toward the edge of a cliff, you don't set the cruise control. You stop the car. The current deal to raise the debt ceiling doesn't stop us from going over the fiscal cliff. At best, it slows us from going over it at 80 mph to going over it at 60 mph.

This plan never balances. The President called for a "balanced approach." But the American people are calling for a balanced budget.

This deal does nothing to fix the overreaches of both parties over the past few years: Obamacare, TARP, trillion-dollar wars, runaway entitlement spending. They are all cemented into place with this deal, and their legacy will be trillions of dollars in new debt.

The deal that is pending before us now:

§  Adds at least $7 trillion to our debt over the next 10 years. The deal purports to "cut" $2.1 trillion, but the "cut" is from a baseline that adds $10 trillion to the debt. This deal, even if all targets are met and the Super Committee wields its mandate - results in a BEST case scenario of still adding more than $7 trillion more in debt over the next 10 years. That is sickening.
§  Never, ever balances.
§  The Super Committee's mandate is to add $7 trillion in new debt. Let's be clear: $2.1 trillion in reductions off a nearly $10 trillion,10-year debt is still more than $7 trillion in debt. The Super Committee limits the constitutional check of the filibuster by expediting passage of bills with a simple majority. The Super Committee is not precluded from any issue, therefore the filibuster could be rendered moot. In addition, the plan harms the possible passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment. Since the goal is never to balance, having the BBA as a "trigger" ensures that the committee will simply report its $1.2 trillion deficit reduction plan and never move to a BBA vote.
§  It cuts too slowly. Even if you believe cutting $2.1 trillion out of $10 trillion is a good compromise, surely we can start cutting quickly, say $200 billion-$300 billion per year, right? Wrong. This plan so badly backloads the alleged savings that the cuts are simply meaningless. Why do we believe that the goal of $2.5 trillion over 10 years (that's an average of $250 billion per year) will EVER be met if the first two years cuts are $20 billion and $50 billion. There is simply no path in this bill even to the meager savings they are alleging will take place.
Buried in the details of this bill is the automatic debt limit increase proposed a few weeks ago. The second installment of the debt ceiling increase is initiated by the President automatically and can only be stopped by a two-thirds vote of Congress. This shifts the Constitutional check on borrowing from Congress to the President and makes it easier to raise the debt ceiling. Despite claims to the contrary, none of the triggers in this bill include withholding the second limit increase.

Credit rating agencies have clearly stated the type of so-called cuts envisioned in this plan will result in our AAA bond rating being downgraded. Ironically then, the only way to avoid our debt being downgraded and the resulting economic problems that stem from that is for this bill to fail.

This plan does not solve our problem. Not even close. I cannot abide the destruction of our economy, therefore I vigorously oppose this deal and I urge my colleagues and the American people to do the same.

Sincerely,

Rand Paul, M.D.
