The topic of the latest GOP debate was the economy. Here are some things that jumped out at me:
Tom Tancredo admitted that he was wrong for voting for "fast track" legislation which allowed the President to make trade deals on his own instead of leaving it up to Congress. He also said that he regretted some other trade deals that he voted for, saying they were dangerous to our sovereignty.
He and Duncan Hunter were the only two who said that they would not allow Dubai to purchase a portion of the NASDAQ stock exchange. They were also the only two who could be described as protectionist in their philosophy. (That is, they are in favor of high tariffs on imports as opposed to free trade.)
Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo were the only two who said that they would not necessarily support the Republican nominee for President.
This was the first debate for Fred Thompson.
