This is part 2 of a series, The Terror of Islam.

I recently received an email which encapsulated the threat that emanates from Islam. Islam is not the innocuous 'religion of peace’ that our politically correct and corrupt politicians make believe that it is. As stated in the blog post yesterday, Islam is a political, militaristic, and religious system. Its creed and principles are generally antithetical to our American culture and values. These ideas are also in stark contrast to our Judeo-Christian heritage. Read the following content and contemplate its message.

If this doesn’t wake people up...nothing will. And if you think that 75% of Muslims are peaceful, guess again. They are just sitting back waiting for the word from the other 25%. They all use the same "Bible" and they are just one big family with the same mindset.

Just wondering.]  Now Devout Muslims are being appointed to critical Homeland Security positions? Doesn't this make you feel safer already? That should make the United States much safer, huh!! Was it not "Devout Muslim men" that flew planes into U.S. buildings only 10 years ago? We must never forget this. Was it not a Devout Muslim man who killed 13 at Fort Hood? (He killed "from within" - don't forget that.)

I recently received an email which encapsulates the threat that emanates from Islam. Islam is not the innocuous “religion of peace’ that some of our politically correct and corrupt politicians make believe that it is. Read the following and contemplate its message: (The highlights are mine.)

 

What Islam Is Not:



Islam, not the Chinese nor the Russians, represents the greatest threat to the world and might be the fulfillment of the book of Revelation in the Holy Bible. This is very disturbing for a Christian to read, but read it and be educated. The following content is adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat.

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components. Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well. Here's how it works:

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be mostly regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens.This is the case in:

United States -- Muslim 0.6%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1.8%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- Muslim 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. . Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:

Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and is on-going in:

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrassas are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrassas. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.

Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates are higher than the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

Travon Martin and Ferguson are examples of how the Political Left is using and shaping crises to fit and/or to take full advantage of them for political purposes. See the article, 2014, The Year of the Manufactured Crises. Now, following in the footsteps of the great crisis-maker himself, our beloved President, the Progressive Left, as a piece of its politically correct agenda is making the most of the made-up Redskin controversy.  I would venture to say most Native Americans could care less what the football team in our nation’s capitol calls itself. They have deeper problems like poverty and rampant alcoholism within their communities.

Public opinion polls are showing the President and Congress at all-time low approval rates. At this point in time many feel, as I do, that actually the name “Washington” (referring to the city that houses our grossly obese and indolent government) is much more offensive than the moniker “Redskins”.  

Aren’t there much more important issues to be dealing with today, like the Islam-influenced terrorists who desire to wreak havoc in the Middle East and the West? How about the inhumane treatment of women, Christians, so-called moderate Muslims, American journalists at the hands of these savage Islamists? What about jobs and the economy? What about the Russian expansion into Ukraine?

Is the purpose to focus on the “Redskin” non-controversy to divert our attention away from the real problems and issues? Or is there some other nefarious reason for promoting such a non-issue now?

Michael Sam: Progressive Promotion of Sodomy

I am appalled at the prolific positive promotion of homosexuality in our culture, which is so rampant today. This perverse progressive agenda is being fueled by those bent on destroying the foundations or traditional American values and virtues. Not happy just having desensitized the consciences of millions of people via their movies, music, video games, and television to the immorality and negative aspects of homosexuality, they desire to infect all of our culture. This ungodly ideology has crept into our schools and colleges advancing a lifestyle that is deadly to individuals and to society as a whole.

The liberal left now has set their sights on making inroads into sports arena. It is not enough that professional sports tolerate and accept drug abusers, wife beaters, and cheaters. Now they want us to accept those who practice unnatural, unhealthy and abnormal homosexual behavior. Apparently so hungry to gain a foothold into sports, they have glorified a borderline player vaunting him to a status way above what his skill on the football field deserves. I have heard only rapturous reports on NPR and even ESPN following Michael Sam's every move from his low round draft pick to his pre-season exploits to his failure to make the final cut of the profession team that drafted him. He’s been treated as if he were some kind of hero or star.

What next? Will the progressive left proclaim a pedophile, a porn star, or a serial purse snatcher as the first of his or her kind to play in a sport? It is a sad commentary on the state of our society when we elevate any sinner to that status of saint, which many in our society have done in the case of Michael Sam.  I admit that I too am a sinner as every human being is. We should not glorify wanton immoral behavior of any kind, be it fornication, pornographic addiction, drug abuse, child abuse, theft, adultery, or homosexuality. In doing so it only further weakens the moral fabric and foundation of our already shaky society.

Wally Show is False Christianity

Last week I turned something upside-down.  It is my WAKW 93.3 window sticker which says "Pointing the Way to the One!"

A few months ago, Star 93.3, a Christian radio station in Cincinnati, replaced their local radio show with the “Wally Show”.  At first I found Wally to be quite annoying.  But then I could see that not only was he annoying, but he was just another phony Christian, possibly a "Tony Campolo" disciple. 

One caller called in and said that she did not punish her daughter for committing promiscuity but only advised her not to do it.  Not only did Wally praise her for this decision, but he went further and said that we should not rebuke people when they sin.  He said that Jesus never rebuked anybody for anything.  Wally obviously doesn't know the Jesus of the Bible.  Not only that, but he contradicts himself.  (He rebukes people for rebuking!)  There seems to be this strange lack of critical thinking everywhere you go.  You can’t get away from it.

But despite this, I kept listening to Star 93.3 in the morning, on my way to work.  After all, it is still a family friendly station.  Well, then one day Wally criticized the “protesters” of that strip joint that has been getting some publicity lately.  He said that it wasn't doing any good, and pointed out that the strippers had responded by picketing the church that the “protesters” represented.  But that was not what irked me.  Wally asked for suggestions as to what should be done instead of this “protesting” that would be more like what Jesus would have done (or something to that effect).  A caller suggested that they offer to babysit the children of the strippers while they work the strip bar.  Wally agreed and said that that was exactly what he was thinking.  That was the last straw for me.

It’s not that I think that we shouldn't love our enemies and do good to those persecute us.  (And strippers do persecute us Christians because they tempt to commit sins which lead to eternal damnation.  See Matthew 5:27-29.)  But enabling them or supporting what they are doing is an entirely different matter.  Can you imagine looking after a woman’s children while their doing that which is spiritual homicide?  This is unacceptable and disgusting.

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

An acceptable suggestion would be to help the women to find real jobs.  You could give to them tips on how to write a résumé, give them clothes that would be good for a job interview, etc.  You wouldn't even have to have any strings attached to this “clothing of naked”.  But Wally seems to be satisfied with the status quo of the dirty business of the strip club.   As long as it looks like we are doing something that “Jesus would have done” in the minds of the mindless, he is satisfied.  What a hypocrite!

I have stopped listening to Wally’s morning show.  I know that this does not hurt him at all.  That is not the reason for the change.  People like him make me angry.  He especially makes me angry because he claims to be a Christian and thus drags the Name of Jesus through filth.  And there is just no point in listening someone who makes you angry.  The Bible teaches that we should focus on the good.

Islam and Progressives Conspire: Israel Bad, Hamas Good

I needed to respond to another fact-less and atrocious article of that leftist propaganda media, AlterNet. The article by Max Blumenthal titled, "How Israel Used Its Own Civilians as Human Shields While Assaulting Gaza, Israel's military is enmeshed in civilian society," begs for a comment. So here I go:

Max, my friend, get your facts straight.

I will attempt to interpret some of your words:

* Max says, “Ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip,” but the truth is, Israel is just defending herself.

* Max accuses Israel of having, “a heavily regimented army of 10,000 public relations flacks,” but the truth is it is that Islamic and Leftist media, including AlterNet writers like Max, try to portray Israel as the aggressor, the bad guy, the little Satan. But the real flacks are the Obama Administration including John Kerry, ABC, NBC, NPR, and CBS who defend the terrorist Hamas led Palestinians!

* Max contends, “Gaza fighters were exclusively targeting active duty Israeli military personnel and avoiding attacks on civilians.” But the truth is, Israel is better able to protect itself and its citizens from the Islamic terrorist inspired and lead assault on Israel. If Hamas could kill all Jews they would.

It all boils down to this one simple fact:

Keep God and His People Behind the Stained Glass Walls?

Another controversial www.AlterNet article caught my eye tonight. “A New Wave of Wacko Evangelicals Swept GOP Primaries—and Could Win Several Seats in Washington, Mega churches fuel a dangerous new wave of political activism,” is the provocative title of the article that begs for a reasoned and rational response.

Basically the article contends that it is a bad thing that church leaders dare to get involved, with their archaic beliefs, in the political process. I guess to the leftists, like the article’s author, it is hurtful to buck the progressive transformational change that is polluting the culture in America.

Below is my response to the article and comments directed to me by another reader of the article.

·        My initial comment:  I'd rather be considered a 'wacko' than be wrong! What Mr. Hice believes is the truth:

-> Homosexual/lesbian behavior is essentially corrupting and seducing America’s sons and daughters through an indoctrinating curriculum and poisonous Hollywood 'entertainment' medium...

-> Same-sex marriage is akin to bestiality and incest; it involves just another form of sexual deviancy.

-> Abortion is very comparable to the genocide waged by Hitler, only this American Holocaust involves many more millions of lives. Planned Parenthood's founder was a believer in eugenics, which targets minorities. Many of Planned Parenthood's abortion chambers today are indeed located and prosper in minority neighborhoods!

§ Mr. Reg comments:  “It sounds like you're quite the expert that agrees with someone like Hitler or Mr. Hice. And yes you sound like a wacko.”

§  My reply to MrReg:  "And yes you sound like a wacko." Guilty as charged! But I have the truth on my side Reg...

Sorry, but I neither believe in what Hitler did then, nor in what Planned Parenthood is doing now... Both are equally immoral, inhuman, and barbaric.

§  MrReg says:  I would prefer to be sane, have those in office with a brain and leave Religion in the Church where it belongs. Providing birth control is not immoral.

§ I Replied: Reg, killing babies is murder, it is not 'birth control.'

Abortion does not end a pregnancy.
Birth ends a pregnancy.
Abortion ends the baby’s life during pregnancy.

Furthermore, abortion is not healthcare.

 

Inhumane and Heartless Hamas

I just had to respond to another leftist article I saw at www.AlterNet.org  titled, "The Most Harrowing, Heart-Breaking Dispatches from Palestinians in Gaza, Palestinians in Gaza are using social media to connect with the outside world they are cut off from."

The article is an extremely one-sided story. The author must be a Hamas apologist.

There is no mention at all in the article about who started this conflict in the first place. Leftist commentators conveniently forget that inhumane Islamo-fascist terrorist Hamas is who provoked the conflict. They took the offensive. THEY, not Israel, are the offenders.

Nor does the author of the article mention the horrific strategy Hamas terrorists employ to defend themselves - firing rockets from Mosques and hospitals and neighborhoods, using the Palestinian people as their human shields. Could this be one big reason why the casualties are so high? Yes, I think so.

Actually, it is Israel who cares more about avoiding Palestinian civilian casualties than does Hamas. They go out of their way with warning the populace of forthcoming attacks. On the other hand, Hamas cares nothing about the Palestinian people. All heartless Hamas cares about is seizing power and participating in the ultimate abortion of Israel.

Hamas Has Created Its Own Iron Dome in Gaza

The savage Islamist terrorist group Hamas has its own version of the iron dome defense system in Gaza. It is the Palestinian people, they are Hamas' human shield. The more civilians killed the better, Hamas thinks it looks better for them in the eyes of the world. It's all Israel's fault, despite the fact that these barbaric Islamists initiated the fighting by launching rocket after rocket against Israel. Hamas wants no part of any peace process and it demonstrates such on a daily basis. It cares nothing about the Palestinian people despite their arguments to the contrary.

President Barack Obama's foolish and buffoonish Secretary of Statism John Kerry decries and bad mouths the true victim, Israel and seems to sympathize with the evil incarnate Hamas. I'm not sure which of Mr. Obama's policies are worse, his domestic policy such as encouraging the illegal alien invasion by means of an open border and lack of enforcement of current immigration laws, or his 'lead from behind' foreign policy of ignoring Russian aggression and the dyer threat posed by Islam and its various terrorist unsainted and unsavory disciples.

Is Burger King's 'Homosexual/Lesbian' Promoting Rainbow Wrapper Harmless?

The author of a recent article that appears on the radically leftist website, AlterNet.com entitled, " Seven Silly Things Right-Wingers Got Angry About Last Week," contends:

* Condoning and promoting homosexuality is HARMLESS...

* Perverting the institution of marriage and undermining the cultural foundation of the family via same-sex 'marriage' is HARMLESS...

* Being concerned about the health risks and hazards being introduced with the invasion of illegal aliens and their accompanying physical, mental and vast health issues into this country is HARMLESS... not to mention the HARMLESS tattooed drug-infested gang members and Islamic terrorists who are also slithering into America preparing to reek havoc on the legal citizens and foundations of America...

* The foolish embracing and ignoring the mind numbing, mind-killing, life-altering and intoxicating affect of marijuana on children and people by the efforts of activists in Colorado and other states it is HARMLESS...

This article is outrageous and the ideas manifested therein are extremely foolish and gravely HARMFUL to us all...

After I placed the above comment to the article on the AlterNet website the following comment was made and I responded...

I disagree with you, Mr. "Ignore the Truth."

Both the Burger King Corporation and the AlterNet article author are propagandizing how innocent and innocuous homosexual behavior is. It is not without harmful consequences to those involved and to society as a whole. For one thing, my tax dollars have to fund the health care consequences of many of those who partake in this deviant behavior... Our schools, too, shamefully are embracing and promoting it as a normal and natural alternative. It is not.

The author further tries to show or justify how un-hurtful the unlawful illegal invasion is, and as well as negligently ignoring any downside of the use of marijuana for recreational purposes.

Ohio Senator Portman, A Pathetic Puppet of the GOP Establishment

The thoughts expressed in the following press release parallel my thoughts exactly. Senator Rob Portman seeks the support of conservatives but betrays them when it is convenient and helpful for his political ambitions. He chooses politics over principle. He favors same-sex 'marriage' and has now supported another GOP establishment puppet over a true conservative, Chris McDaniel in the recent June 24 Mississippi Runoff Election for U.S. Senator. He is showing his true colors and they full colors of the progressive rainbow. He needs to be thrown out of office in 2016. We must make him a one-term senator.

TEA Party Demands that Senator Portman Renounce Support for Cochran in Mississippi

Kent, OH – Tom Zawistowski, Executive Director of the Portage County TEA Party, reacted angrily to Ohio Senator Rob Portman’s claims in a Cleveland Plain Dealer article this week that he had no idea that the $25,000 from his PAC would be used by the Thad Cochran Campaign in Mississippi to air racially charged attacks on the TEA Party. Portman was quoted in the article as saying ” I believe using race as a political issue, as these ads apparently did, was wrong.”

Zawistowski, said “Isn’t it convenient Senator Portman, that you had nothing to say about the horrific, disgusting, totally dishonest racist ads run by Thad Cochran’s campaign until you were identified as having provide funding for this despicable human being Thad Cochran? Where was your moral outrage the days after the ads became public? You know that the TEA Party is made up of hard working, God fearing, Patriotic Americans who do NOT hate blacks or any other minority, yet you did nothing to defend those TEA Party members from these vicious attacks by a person you supported financially! You say that “the TEA Party activists . . . must come together to take back the Senate, yet you support a man who votes with Democrats most of the time, and who told black voter that the TEA Party is affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan and that we want to deny blacks the right to vote. Why in hell should we support someone like Thad Cochran after what he did? Why would you even suggest that the TEA Party do so? Why would you or any other Republican support anyone who would commit such a heinous act against Chris McDaniel A LOYAL REPUBLICAN????”

Zawistowski concluded by saying “Senator Portman, actions speak louder than words. You must renounce your support of Thad Cochran immediately and demand that he drop out of the race. You must demand that your fellow Senators who supported Cochran do the same. Not to do so would show that you in fact condone the actions of the Cochran campaign and that you do not respect either the TEA Party movement or black voters. There is no place in our government, let alone in the Republican Party, for such a hateful, racist, person. So we throw your challenge back in your face and that of the Republican Party. If you believe that we must win the Senate this year, meaning with true Republicans like Chris McDaniel, and if you want to win the White House in 2016, you need to come together with the TEA Party and the social conservatives and black and Latino conservatives. For I assure you, if you do not choose the moral path at this critical time, we will never forget your and their role in this sordid event, and we will do everything in our power to make sure that Thad Cochran and every RINO like him loses in the fall.”

It seems that in this day and age that the border between the United States and Mexico is just a swinging door!  Anyone can just come and go as they please!  If you haven’t seen the music video “Come to The USA” that spotlights this flaw in the immigration system, then be sure to click on the video below. 

This video describes a terrible problem that Mr. Obama has only exacerbated since he took office. He and his cronies capitalist comrades and many Republicans In Name Only (RINO), the Chamber of Commerce, etc. want amnesty. They must not get their way or as this video highlights it will bring sure destruction to an already damaged nation.

Don't forget that it is Mr. Obama and his lawless administration that created the current crisis on the border because it has refused to enforce current immigration laws. They desperately want more Democrat voters and they are attempting to do by all means necessary, by hook or by crook.

NPR Pedals Perversion

Buried in a story about Derek Jeter’s last all-star appearance in his last professional baseball season (A New Act In Jeter's Last Season, Before Dwindling All-Star Audience), is some intriguing insight into the mind of National Public Radio. 14 time all-star Derek Jeter played 20 years and is a sure future hall of famer.  Well, the All Things Considered Radio Show host and perversion propagandist Bob Siegel just had to bring up the name of Glenn Burke, who apparently was the first admitted sodomite to play the game of baseball. Mr. Burke will apparently be ‘honored’ tonight for his open homosexuality. What a revelation. What an admission! 

A WikiPedia article reveals something that NPR’s Mr. Siegel does not, “Burke was the first and only MLB player to come out as a homosexual to teammates and team owners during his professional career and the first to publicly acknowledge it. He died from AIDS-related causes in 1995.”

First of all it is ludicrous for MLB to celebrate the first homosexual player. It would be like celebrating the first pedophile, the first rapist, the first wife beater, the first adulterer, the first arsonist, the first … (name any and all immoral activities.) Mr. Siegel, NPR, the broadcast networks, Hollywood, much of academia, the education system, our federal government, the Democrat Party and the majority of Leftists and Liberals are pushing for the ‘gaying’ of America. They are trying to equate and elevate this perverse lifestyle to a normal, natural, healthy, fully acceptable alternate lifestyle. It is not.

Second, it is foolish to give this second-rate baseball player 28% of the words in news segment about a baseball great just because of his sexuality. It is a slap in the face of a baseball icon and a blatant attempt and intent to push an agenda. This segment illustrates the gripping agenda of one of many advocates for homosexuality trying so desperately to destroy the American society and culture. They can call it a rights issue, but in the end it is a favorite Leftist issue.

Stem Cell Research Papers Retracted

There were two papers written about a new method of producing pluripotent stem cells from ordinary cells from the body.  There had been earlier research that had established that skin cells could be used to make stem cells.  But I have not heard anything about what kind of cells were used to supposedly produce stem cells in this new research, other than that they were from mice.  They put various stresses on "regular cells taken from the body" such as chemical treatments and temperature changes to induce them to become pluripotent.  But now these papers have been retracted because some of the data and figures (pictures) were have reportedly been found to be false or falsely labeled. Being a scientist myself, I know that there is a lot bad science published in cheap open access journals, but this stuff was published in the journal Nature, which is a really big deal.  Integrity seems to waning in all areas of life, including in the scientific arena.

And all this makes me wonder.  Should we be fooling around with this stuff?  I mean, if you create a pluripotent stem cell and use it in either experiments or as treatment, is this really any better than sacrificing a human embryo?  I mean, if these cells are really just the same as embryonic stem cells, only they were produced in a different way, then isn't it just as bad to use them for the same purpose?  Killing an innocent human being is wrong.  It doesn't matter how that life came into being.  If the cells that are made by these processes have the potential to grow into a fetus, then isn't it just as wrong to dismember them as if they were just a mass of cells.  Having said this, I realize that not all pluripotent stem cells have the ability to become any type of cell in the body.  But I am just saying that just because embryonic stem cells are replaced by some other type of stem cell, that doesn't necessary mean that it is morally acceptable.

A Victory for Religious Liberties!

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the HHS mandate in the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare. In its 5-4 decision, the court reaffirmed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RRFA)of 1993, which provides for very broad protection of religious liberty. Justice Samuel Alito wrote in his majority opinion, over a dissent from the four liberal justices, that forcing companies to pay for methods of women's contraception to which they object violates RRFA. Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Woods, plaintiffs in the case, faced huge fines under Obamacare's penalties if they did not comply with the mandate to provide contraceptives and abortifacient drugs for their employees in the company's health care plan. With this decision, neither the Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby Stores, nor the Hahn family, owners of Conestoga Wood Specialties, are required to fund abortion-inducing pills through their company insurance plan.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously today in favor of the conservative anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List, allowing the group to proceed with a First Amendment challenge against an Ohio law criminalizing "false" political speech.
The case of Susan B. Anthony List v. Driehaus arose during the 2010 congressional elections when the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its intention to oppose the reelection campaign of Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-Ohio) by purchasing billboard and radio ads describing Driehaus' vote for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as tantamount to supporting "tax-payer funded abortion."
In response, Driehaus filed a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission charging SBA List with seeking to spread political lies about him. Driehaus' lawyer also sent a letter to the billboard company, threatening a similar complaint. The company promptly refused to run the SBA List ads.
In the meantime, SBA List was hauled before the Ohio Elections Commission, which ruled against it on a party-line vote. By this point, with the congressional election impending, SBA List's political speech had been effectively suppressed by the state of Ohio.
So SBA List filed suit in federal court, charging the Ohio speech law with violating its First Amendment rights. In a surprise twist, however, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit ruled in favor of the state, holding that SBA List did not have standing to file suit because it could not demonstrate "an imminent threat of future prosecution."
Today, by a vote of 9-0, the U.S. Supreme Court overruled that decision and held that Susan B. Anthony List must be allowed its day in federal court. "The threat of future enforcement of the false statement statute is substantial," declared the unanimous majority opinion of Justice Clarence Thomas. What's more, Thomas wrote, "the specter of enforcement is so substantial that the owner of the billboard refused to display SBA's message after receiving a letter threatening Commission proceedings. On these facts, the prospect of future enforcement is far from 'imaginary or speculative.'"

Mississippi GOP Being Sued for Alleged Abuses in Recent Runoff Election

True the Vote is taking direct and immediate action against the Mississippi GOP as a result of the apparent rampant voter fraud that went on in the recent primary runoff election in Mississippi. That election was between entrenched, entitled, and elite GOP Good Old Boy incumbent U.S.  Senator Thad 'Way Past His Prime' Cochran versus true conservative challenger Mississippi State Senator and previous primary election winner Chris McDaniel.

Essentially the GOP, I suspect both the Mississippi GOP and the National GOP did not want another Ted Cruz upsetting their apple cart and lucrative status quo in D.C. so they pulled out all stops to sidetrack Senator McDaniel's bid to replace Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell loyal trooper, including recruiting and possibly paying Democrats to vote for their man Thad in the run off election. Senator Cochran 'won' or I should say accumulated the most votes, around 6,000 more than Senator McDaniel.  By the way, Senator McDaniel has not conceded the election yet and is contesting the results as well, claiming that in one county alone there were 1,000 Democrats who voted in the Democrat Primary, who also voted in the GOP Runoff Election, which is illegal.

The National GOP has a history of supporting the liberal or mushy 'moderate' GOP candidate over a conservative candidate. The GOP threw its weight with Primary loser Lisa Mukowski, who then ran as an independent in the General Election, and won in the 2010 Alaska U.S. Senatorial Race against GOP Primary winner Joe Miller.

I would like nothing more than to see the Mississippi Runoff Election's result overturned and the local and national GOP slapped and shamed royally for their lack of principle in the pursuit of power.
