U.N.AMERICAN

Frankly, it is time for America to stop funding the United Nations. America now provides 25% o the U.N.’s funds, and only gets 100% of the blame for all the ills of the world. Essentially, we pay to have sand kicked in our face. This makes absolutely no sense. To have he likes of Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez have the podium at the U.N. to ridicule and insult America is simply deplorable.

The following are two more good reasons to evict the U.N. from New York City and put up another parking lot, which would be a much more practical use of that wasted land.

UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

The Publius Pundit blog in a recent post comments, “. . . In nearly a year, here is a brief list of some of the Human Rights Council's greatest accomplishments:

* Successfully condemned one country only, Israel.

* Repeat the above seven more times.

* Voted on June 30, 2006, to review Israeli human rights abuses at every council session.

* While investigating the Israeli-Hezbollah war, it announced that, "the Commission is not entitled, even if it had wished, to construe [its charter] as equally authorizing the investigation of the actions by Hezbollah in Israel." No bias here.

* Cuba is mounting a campaign to eliminate the council's ability to even investigate human rights.”

Who are the current members of this un-esteemed lot? 17 Islamic nations, Russia, China and Cuba and a bunch of African countries run mostly by other depots. The United States is not a member of this august (or better, disgusting) body. Many of these countries never met a human right that they did not violate. .

UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON LAW OF THE SEA

This treaty proposes to put the oceans under the control of the United Nations, which would control and apparently tax shipping etc. This is a terrible affront to the sovereignty of the United States and other countries. This treaty, though signed, should never be ratified. America must not allow itself to be dictated to by such an anti-American organization as the U.N.

The United Nations is a joke. It is an assembly of despots controlled by despots doing despotic deeds. For the money the United States has invested in this godless, anti-American organization we would be wiser burning our money or flushing it down a toilet. We should demand our Congressional representatives stop all funding and evict this evil, money-sucking and useless organization.

I will not forgive the Dems leadership who blocked John Bolton's nomination as U.N. Ambassador. He was one man who stood up for America to this bad organization and they gave him the boot. The Democrat Party leadership has more in common, I am afraid, with the despots in the U.N. then they do with someone who honors America.
